It has been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Alexander Skarsgård) left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane (Margot Robbie) at his side. Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom (Christoph Waltz). But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.
PROS
- Great acting by the whole cast especially Samuel L Jackson who played the character George Washington William and Christoph Waltz who played the villain Captain Léon Rom
- Excellent visual effects, the scenery and the animals ,particularly the gorillas , were so realistic .
- It has a gripping story line that is easy to follow .
CONS
- There wasn’t enough back story . If you have never heard of the Tarzan you may not get the significance of his character and how he relates to the other pivotal characters in the movie .

CONCLUSION
Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgård’s portrayal of Tarzan was not perfect but he most certainly did an outstanding job . He played the character of the man that was raised by apes with the seriousness it deserves . I was a little skeptical about the movie ,thinking it would be “cartoony” , but gladly i was wrong . It felt authentic . From his mannerisms to the way he relates to the animals and to humans . On his character Tarzan, Skarsgård said, “This is about a man who’s holding back and slowly as you peel off the layers, he reverts back to a more animalistic state and lets that side of his personality out.”
Christoph Waltz also displayed an excellent performance as Captain Léon Rom . At first glance he may feel like a cowardly villain , but he shows he can be ruthless and cunning ,and will do whatever it takes to get what he wants.
One disappointment I had about the movie is that not much attention was given to the origin story of Tarzan, viewers are seemingly expected to know exactly who he is .
The Legend of Tarzan is an action adventure movie that can be enjoyed by the whole family .
