Chipolopolo defender Donashano Malama has described the Rwanda 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) draws as tough.
Zambia was drawn in Group D along with Zimbabwe, Mali and Uganda at the championship that will run from January 16 to February 7.
In an interview in Kitwe, Malama said Zambia should expect a tough outing in Rwanda.
“I think it is a difficulty group and as you know there are no easy games. We just have to prepare adequately and make sure we work extra hard to make our country happy,” Malama said.
The Nkana defender, however, believes that Zambia can advance from this group.
“With hard work we can come out of that group and advance. We have quality in the team and we can even go past the quarter-finals,” Malama said.
Zambia minted bronze at the inaugural CHAN edition staged in Ivory Coast in 2009.
Meanwhile, Group A has hosts Rwanda, Gabon, Morocco and Ivory Coast with DR Congo, Angola, Cameroon and Ethiopia making up Group B while Group C has Tunisia, Nigeria, Niger and Guinea.

I thought organisers use rankings or seedings to draw teams and that is the best that can happen. You must remember that the quality of match officiating can greatly affect game outcome.

That is the problem with our Zambian players. They have already started shivering even before the game is played. Which teams haven’t Chipolopolo played with before? Start believing that you are the best and can conquer the rest.
