Zanaco add more misery on Wanderers

Zanaco moved up to fourth place on the FAZ Super Division table after beating Mufulira Wanderers 2-1 in a delayed Week 8 tie played on Monday at Shinde Stadium in Mufulira.

The win pushed unbeaten Zanaco to 12 points from four matches.

Captain Ziyo Tembo put the Bankers ahead after 24 minutes before Rodrick Kabwe doubled the lead 18 minutes later to silence Wanderers supporters.

The home team’s consolation goal came in the 83rd minute cutesy of Joseph Kasongo.

This was the second loss for Wanderers who only have one win and five draws in their first 8 matches.

Wanderers now remain stuck on 11th position with 8 points from 8 games played.

  1. Mighty shall rise from the ashes! This is just a passing phase! What i saw on Monday despite the loss showed that the team is on the way up. The league is long and we are in for more spills and thrills!
