POLICE in Kafulafuta have arrested a 43 year old man of Kalikeka village for allegedly murdering his father and later burning part of his body and face.

Copperbelt province commissioner of police Charity Katanga has told Mwebantu in an exclusive interview that the incident which occurred on Wednesday around 03.00 hours.

Ms Katanga has identified the suspect as Emmanuel, while his father has been identified as Jimmy Kalikeka.

She said the matter was reported to the police by the family’s neighbour, Richard Kasosa, and that the reasons for the killing are not known.

“The suspect beat his father with a stick until he died. Thereafter, he allegedly got dry grass and lit it before burning part of his face and body,” Ms Katanga said.

Ms Katanga said Mr Kalikeka’s body is lying in the Ndola central hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
