Ex-Nkana captain Sydney Kalume has paid tribute to his former Kalampa team mate Charles Shamujompa who was put to rest in Kapiri Mposhi on Sunday afternoon.
30, died on Friday at Kapiri Mposhi General Hospital after an illness.
The late tall defender was part of the Kalume captained Nkana squad that won the 2013 FAZ Super Division title.
“It is sad our friend has died at a young age. He was a good player,” Kalume said.
“We related well when I came at Nkana. I actually took over the armband as captain from him,” the Lusaka Dynamos midfielder said.
Shamujompa also played for Mufulira Wanderers and Chambishi.
He was buried at Chibwelelo Cemetery in his home town Kapiri on Sunday afternoon.
