Zesco eye revenge against Wydad

Zesco seek revenge in their battle for top spot in Group A when they host Wydad Casablanca of Morocco on Wednesday in the final 2016 CAF Champions League pool phase match at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

Wydad and Zesco are 1st and 2nd on 10 and 8 points respectively heading into the last match in this 16h30 kickoff in Ndola that will be live on SuperSport 9.

Both sides have qualified to the semifinals with a game in hand with the major highlight being Zesco’s debut last four appearance.

But Zesco also have a score to settle en route to the last eight with the Moroccans who are the only team to have beaten them in Group A to-date.

Wydad beat Zesco 2-0 on match-day-two in Rabat on June 29 to topple George Lwandamina’s side from the summit of Group A after his sides’ famous 3-2 home win over Al Ahly at the same venue on June 18.

Zesco will head into the match minus influential midfielder Cletus Chama who is suspended for the match after accruing two yellow cards.

Meanwhile, winner from Group A will face Group B runners-up Zamalek away in Egypt during the weekend of September 16.

Runner-up will be at home in the first leg that same weekend against Group B winners Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.

Final legs will be played during the weekend of September 23.
