Local Government and Housing Permanent Secretary Amos Malupenga says the date for the swearing ceremony will be communicated in due course.
Mr. Malupenga has urged councillors to reflect on the past mistakes and failures to execute their civic duties with dignity.
He says the ministry is looking forward to working with all Mayors, Council Chairperson and councillors to bring sanity in the councils.
Mr. Malupenga said this in statement made available to ZNBC news in Lusaka today.
you can’t have local government without central government. until issues are resolved by the courts will we have both local and central governments
Naikaba!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Malupanga, have you executed your duties with dignity? Please reflect on this too. Your PF is doing more harm to this country’s moral fiber and the economy at the same time. How did you get that civil servant job other than having been a cadre for PF?
He had no option but to follow the rule of law. Meanwhile his dull president is still refusing to hand over the instrument of power. PF are very dull kikikiki
Dull. A President-elect has no executive functions and hence no instruments of power to hand over. Extremely dull you Tumfwekostan…
Hand over power to who? Kikik amashilu yalefulilakofye. Ati official Upnd media so dull a chap.
@hh techilema ,to the speaker cheee colour iwe. Please read the constitution before showing us how ignorant you are.
Hand over to who, ECL won in 7 provinces as opposed to HH who only won in 3 provinces. ECL has MPs in Lusaka, Copperbelt, Central, Luapula, Northern, Eastern and Muchinga as opposed to HH who only has MPs in Southern, Western and NW provinces.
Don’t mislead people. Check ECZ website. HH won Cental province by almost 40,000 votes.
HICHILEMA, Hakainde – 177,854
LUNGU, Edgar C – 138,517
Where is Mumbwa, Nangoma, Keembe, Katuba, Mwembeshi and Kapiri Mposhi and Chisamba constitiuencies? UPND have MPs in all these constituencies. Too much propaganda from ZNBC
ECL – VIVA
The Dull ***** is you!!! handing over power to WHO????????
You are truly dull and that is why you care being rejected coz you are opportunists!
Zambians cannot VOTE for and ***** who dos not even know how GRZ operates.
UPND won 3 provinces and PF won 7 provinces, you ***** so who WON??????
Go to school!!!!
@Nez
I think there is a misunderstanding on why is ECL is still the presindent even after an election petition. The reason is that a new president is not sworn in yet and Lungu been the incumbent before the election is only supposed to handover the instruments of power to the president elect upon inaugulation. As for now he is still using the powers of the president he was given in January by Scott which has nothing to do with the polls we had a 40 nighty ago. Should the Concourt make a ruling and it goes against lungu then we will go for the rerun and ECL will then be required to step aside since he is also a stake holder and the petition has been filed against him. if it was for instance Kabimba with his rainbow part in place of lungu and his PF am sure even after a court ruling against…
Article 106 of the new Constitution.
Simples…
This Master Rigger should have indicated the reason being – Central Government yet to be decided by the Concourt.
What a dunderhead.
I did not know that losing is so painful. The way UP and DOWN party is behaving. As if they have lost their balls
Losing is VERY painful but the WINNER must always shake the loser’s hand especially after a close contest.
The loser must accept the hand shake and walk away to give space for the winner to celebrate.
No winner remains CHAMPION forever but WORKS HARD to stay there for as long as possible.
Let PF (the winner) unite the divided Country and continue with their development plans.
LET US PROGRESS WITH OUR MONKEYS. UPND get another good Lozi/Tonga/Kaonde/Luvale Leader.
LET’S GO PEOPLE, MOVE ON BAFIKALA, THERE IS WORK TO DO!!!!!
