Parley urges MTN to improve services

The Parliamentary Select Committee on Communications, Transport, Works and Supply has appealed to MTN Zambia to improve its services especially in rural areas of the country.

ZANIS reports that Committee Chairperson Douglas Siakalima noted that in today’s modern era there is need for effective communication not only in urban areas but also in rural areas.

The Chirundu Law maker said this when he led his parliamentary committee on an interactive tour of the operations of MTN Zambia in Lusaka today.

Meanwhile MTN Zambia Chief Executive Officer Charles Molapisi said the mobile network giant is committed to improving its services to its customers across the country.

Mr Molapisi pointed out that MTN has the best network and biggest coverage in the country and plans to invest more so as to improve it services to its customers.

Mr Molapisi stated that MTN Zambia Ltd which is the local unit of Africa’s biggest wireless operator has the largest subscriber base in Zambia standing at 4.5 million people, compared with other networks ZAMTEL and AIRTEL.
