By Wesley Ngwenya
Just a few minutes ago the President Rupiah Banda was
addressing the much anticipated press conference. There are so many things that Rupiah touched on. Here are a few highlights that need to be discussed.
In his response to the global economic crisis the president stated that;
1. Senior government officials should use government vehicles for intended purposes only and not park the vehicles at home
2. Reduce foreign traveling and officials on all trips unless absolutely necessary
3. Government workshops should be held in ministry boardrooms not lodges and hotels.
It is commendable that Rupiah was able to highlight these issues as a response to the current economic crisis. However, are these really new measures? Shouldn’t these things have be done with or without the economic crisis? Aren’t government officials supposed to use government vehicles and benefits for work and not personal use in the first place? These are not intelligent measures to respond to the economic crisis. The abuse of government resources have been going on for a long time now. Besides, what measures are Rupiah putting in place to ensure that they will be adhered to?
The president addressed the Zamtel issue by setting up a commission headed by minister of finance. In addition, he defended the proposed ZESCO increase in tariffs by sixty percent. It is unfortunate that we are back to the same position on Zamtel.
Looks like the president is particularly quick in setting up commissions since he has also set up a salaries commission. We already have various ministries and government departments that should be able to deal with the Zamtel issue. We know what happened to some of the commissions such as the Chirwa Tribunal that wasted government resources on something that was not going to be respected by the same appointing authority. What the president failed to justify on the ZESCO tariffs is how much of the company’s revenue go to paying salaries of employees.
On procuring hearses, the president refused responsibility that he was unaware of the purchase but stated that our people needed to be buried with dignity. Interesting. Apparently, for Rupiah, it is more important for us to be buried with dignity and not live with dignity. Many Zambians are worried about where they find money for food or to send their children to school and not how fancy their coffins should be. It’s a shame that the president should make such insulting remarks to the many Zambians living in poverty.
Zambians expected some specifics from the press conference instead of using it to insult the opposition. Rupiah must learn to live with the opposition. He must not feel intimidated. The opposition parties are there to create checks and balances that parliament cannot do. They are there to defend our democracy. Lately, we have actually seen more leadership from the opposition than the president himself. It is very insulting for Rupiah to make a statement such as “shame on the Zambians who are under the leadership of HH.” Zambians are free to follow their political leaders of choice and therefore should not be intimidated by the head of state.
It is disappointing that Rupiah has taken this long to even say something regarding the many issues that are affecting our nation. The president is barely reacting to public pressure and not providing proactive leadership. He should have addressed these issues head on instead of busy flying around the region when there is so much of a crisis in our country. The president even failed to apologize to the many Zambians who have lost their lives as a result of the national strikes by nurses and doctors around the country. What the president is trying to do is unfortunately too little too late.
Nurses? Interesting!!!!!!
It was a waste of time, nothing new
not much
proper mediocrity….
Yeah #1
We knew, there was going to be no substance in his speech.
Was it something or nothing?……it was definetly nothing.
Zambia should not live on the agenda of tabloids. Lately, they have thrown Mwanawasa’s son in the dirt in yet another attempt to foster Sata’s/HH’s utopian & hallucinatory cause. Closely, examine Sata now and in the past & ask yourself what this man can ever bring to Zambia. If you hate Teta and love Sata (3rd term hustler) you are insane! Until these tabloids stop thinking for & mind twisting of ordinary Zambians whose main wish is to see development, they are irrelevant.
Kindly, also note that the pact (not merger) nonsense has neither been tested nor succeeded on earth. Good luck. Work hard or keep dreaming.
am far much better than Banda, nothing specific for sure.iyo kwena twatekwafye ne shilu.no direction kulabosafye nge mbwa.lesa ukatwafye mu 2011.
Ba Moze, how come there was no question from the post newspaper at the press conference, does it mean they were sidelined olo shani
Is this man normal????
i can not observe any better than the writer
im lost for words……..it hurts
He needs to be recalled, the earlier the better for the country.
Kwena we are in for a rude shock, 2011 ubutali mwe Lesa!
DELETED POSTER RISK BEING BANNED
impeach him!!
bloggers what could be the interpretation of the monkey that peeid on RB during the press conference
This man RB can talk. He was busy complaining about HH instead of sorting out the real issues affecting the nation. Imagine he said HH is a young star with no respect for elders like him who told him in politics theres respect niwafwa walemana! Wether he likes it or not come 2011 kukaka. He was busy yapping about Dora Siliya, HH and Sata thats all I heard from the press conference. No solution for striking nurses and other pressing issues in the nation.
i didnt expect anything special to come out of RB’s mouth,i thought old people where wise guess that has been proved wrong. Well i blame the villagers for everything they put him there
#8 Lokombe lol….you are crazy dude!
Letter to God
Iye tata Lesa ba Kateka mwatupela!!! Please Lord do something about this man pump in some knowledge in him and his collegues.God pipo are dying in hospitals coz the president you gave us has no concern for his pipo why God? Why mwe Lesa? Why? What have w done as a nation to deserve this kind of leadership? iam sure you are also regretting to put him in power but with you its never too late, you can do something like you did to Saul in the book of Samuel 1 and 2.Please God do something.
Yours
your Child, and co-heir with Christ Matworld.
#17, it simply means that even the monkey family is not in support of RB’s Leadership.
I see no sense in what he talked about, please Lord what sin have we commited to have such a president, please forgive us of our great trespass.
In the picture lyanwinapo na menshi kwati pali ifya mano lyalanda.Awe mwe, what have we done as a country to deserve this kind of mediocrity in our leardership? God help us
Tulimuchibe.Mr.President you shudnt hav even called for a press conference u cud hav just told Jere 2 issue a statement. You are a let down Nyama soya.Katwishi nefyo bamona muli iwe abena Teta Malilo.Mulifye Ifisushi bonse
THE MAN IS NOTHING BUT AN I.D.I.O.T
yet again a content free speech from RB. Mwe Lesa sure twafweni
Isnt this contradictory when he himself is all over the place on these expensive trips. Nothing new.
He didnt need to call a press conference to say what he said..he is clueless
LT and Ba Wesley Ngwenya, bravo for the service you’re rendering, feedin us with latest news and well digested views.Umwahume talila guess doesn’t work.Tears came out reading this latest bad news coming from the press conference the so-called President RB had.Are we surely gona sit back and see yet again the sacrifices that people had during the debt cancellation, tighten your belts era to attain that famous debt-goal just go under? This man wasn’t prepared for this Presidency hence the behaviour he has shown as a Tourist-President. Are those cut-saving measures you can say will inject the needed global crunch survival? Zambia is not a farm, you can see how blind RB and his advisors are. Opposition this is it. The hour of reckoning has come. This country is doomed at the rate we’re…
I expected a lot from our president , but what he has talked about has nothing to do with the masses who wallowing in poverty, the press conference was only about hakainde and sata. but for real do we really need a press conferece to attack oppositions?
I don’t blame him i blame the people of Zambia.
Next time think before you vote don’t go for masses they never work.2011 lets hope we don’t put another hooligan…..Shame Zambians shame.
#21, how old are you?
God
You pipo have cried unto you do something twapapata.
I think we are expecting a little to much becuase we are in fantacy land with the opposition and media. The problems Zambia is facing a huge its funny some people where asking for a stimulus package honestly.
One other thing i have noticed is that maybe we have become too used to politics of threats and insults that a little deplomacy dont me anything to us. Listerning to Obama on Iran yesterday was a breath of fresh air something different from threats of we will defend react etc that normlly comes from the USA
Remember when Chiluba went to Sweden, he promised the nation a unique press conference. The nation waited for him on a cold winter morning at the airport only to told “nothing specific”
He should have remained at HIPPO lodge with his hippo friends.
At least he aint ma father,I could have commited suicide to have such a one.
we do it the Madagascar way!!!
Am back after having suffered heart problems because of this man’s leadership. Yet again another out bust. He talks about insults when he is busy insulting. The fact is leadership has got to his head and he must start realising that been 8 months in power does not make him president for life. Time will catch up with him. At all costs he wants fred to be cleared away. I wish him well. Do not throw stones in a glass house RB.
nangu fye ka heart attack mwe lesa
I think we should go and exhume Mwanawasa so he can come and answer for the biggest mistake of his Presidency (appointing RB). This man has no substance in his enormous head. And really, Zambians, if we are going to vote for him again then we should allcollectively accept that we are a bunch of fools
#32, Mrs Nyama Soya, Dont heap the blame on the electrorate. Blame that old sick VJ. he is the cause of this pain we are going thru.
yaba but zo-ona nabalasa…………………1:0 ama zambians
#40, you are spot on. Perhaps we should all as a nation collectively Pray for that
40.Ghost dog.
Haha hahahahahahaha!!!! I wouldn’t mind ka national mourning naine.
Is this supposed to be a rebuttal to the presidents press conference or simply reporting on what transpired? it is advisable to label it as opinion and not as a report. LT are have started off very professional and please keep it that way, let bloggers offer the opinions and not your writers but that said you could have an opinion section. On the press conference have to agree that the president displayed very little understanding of what is going on in his own country and he does not see that he needs to be a sherpherd and lift people’s spirits by sharing his vision.
our media is a let down, our president is full of trivialities
Two days ago I warned every one of you here that come Wednesday, mailele yekayeka fye yakalafuma mucikanwa. So there you have it, a waste of space.
The speech offered by RB is so embrassing the man is a dictator for sure who does not want to listen from people. surely how can he defend the 60% increament proposed by ZESCO? Country men Zambia is doomed for destruction only God can save it.
If you are President you answer to everyone, he is acting very dictatorship, time to be removed!
WHAT DID WE DO TO DESERVE SUCH A PRESIDENT? HE’S SO OUT OF TOUCH IT’S SCARY…SHOCKING STUFF!
Lets not split votes come 2011 and all support for change, support ZED party
leave my hubby alone. Dora is our family friend, my assistant on personal isuues
It hurts to see our beloved country collapsing day by day becuase of pipo like RB, Teta and the rest of his group.
Ishilu kateka – Mad President
RB is really old. Every question they asked him had to be repeated before answering. The man forgot every question just after a few minutes. He kept on asking: what was the question.
This is something he said about officials being taken to south africa for treatment: Every one is free to do that. Imagine the time I was in SA for an operation the nurses and doctors were on strike in Zambia. So who going to attend to me? Is this man normal? He also said in others countries doctors don’t go on strike. It means he doesn’t even know that their conditions are better than docs back home.
This man is too selfis to see the problems being faced in the country. It means he can never think of any solution since, for him, there’s no problem. You have to see the problem before you think of a…
#45 Ka national mourning will mean GK has will have to act as the president, elo GK=RB
On “It is very insulting for Rupiah to make a statement such as “shame on the Zambians who are under the leadership of HH““, ain’t the president HH is leading the same ones being led by President RB Banda? Zambians, this is an insult I believe from the highest office man of the land.
President HH, the pressure you have put on the MMD GRZ has been felt and please continue doing this for me and other Zambians who are dissatisfied with this President RB Banda Administration.
I am all for your leadership president HH over the UPND-PF PACT and I will continue supporting you for presidential candidate in the 2011 upcoming elections.
As for President RB Banda, please let the young ones in MMD be presidential candidates in 2011.

#37 ka’Doyo he definitely behaves like one
Times are hard and i do appricite the fact that the President is not trying to falsefully lift peoples hopes. Our economy depends on outside influences no one knows how this will play out in current conditions.
You can only act on what you can directly influence which is local and government has big say.
We are in trouble but we shouldnt blame God for putting him there. We should blame ourselves;if Iranians are able to protest even if they are being killed, why not us Zambians?.Lets go out there in the streets and protest. The Police or Army will kill 100 people but they shouldnt forget that the world is looking and that there is International Criminal Court in Hague, where they face genocide charges. Our time is now, those who die for a Holy mission like demostrating for the good of the Country will be recieved by God’s Angels, and they shall become Angels or Saints.
when the presidents was asked for comments on public suggestions that ministers should use local health facilities as opposed to being flow to SA. I got so confused or is it the president, when he started talking about how mwanawasa flew sata to SA. just because sata was flown to SA is means the opposition cant condemn this continued trend, how childish. What kind of progress is this country every going to make? waking up the dead, leaning on the past, rumo mongering, discussions and discussions, studies and studies
On a seroius note this chimp need to be impeached!!!!!
Anyway this is the leadership we chose and we have really got one, “THE PRESIDENT DOES NOT NEED PERMISSION FROM UNIVERSITY STUDENTS TO APPOINT A MINISTER” That statement has no name in my wide vocabulary!!!!
57 concerned Zambian greetings. On your “This is something he said about officials being taken to south africa for treatment: Every one is free to do that. Imagine the time I was in SA for an operation the nurses and doctors were on strike in Zambia. So who going to attend to me?“, I am wodering whether Maina Soko Military Hospital near to State House is still operational. Can someone help me on this one.
Besides Maina Soko, let President RB Banda and his friends in GRZ make sure that conditions of services and facilities are good to motivate Doctors and Nurses do their job nicely and also encourage over civil servants to be dedicated.
President RB Banda should let MMD young ones with vision be presidential candidates in 2011.

Surely people are dying and he is not addressing them. People from the Hague help us here.
Ifyabupubafwe…
Bumambala nelyo bakulu
It seems those of us who were busy working and did not have chance to listen to the press conference did not miss anything huh? I thought RB was quiet coz he was planning something big and now was ready to tell the nation thru a press conference, but as expected, NAY!!! What a presido
RB TWENFWENE PLIZ TH PRESS CONFERRENCE WS NT TH PLATFORM 2 TALK ABOUT TH OPPOSITION PLIZ SPARE US PLIZ UR TH PRESIDENT OF ALL ZAMBIA.
Anyway, let us wait and see where this very old man President RB Banda and his other old fellows will take us as Zambians.
To the young Zambians, please let us unite and make sure we vote for someone with a plan for mother Zambia in 2011.
Imagine, I was hoping to be appointed to assist the failing government, but all I learnt is that President RB Banda just mentioned the appointed of Dora and shifting of Lungwangwa, something that Dickson Jere already told us a few days ago. These repetitions indicate that the old President forgets what he hears or says easily as commented by another bloggers concerned Zambian above.
Could someone start running opinion polls on the performance of President RB Banda just like Americans do.

Prevention is better than cure.
he has not been home much
People the old man has failed. We need a formular.I’m sure ka dulness kalimu muli ba President batu.We have to fight him out. Shambles of a press conference, No wonder he was peed on by one of the state house monkeys!
monkey business.
RB is a waste of time and money. No sensible thing said sure
I have never had time to listen to his HE RB. I now believe RB is a wise Man. I like the sober mood he exibited during the event. I like how he rebuked at the post and the opposition. I like how he addressed the issue of the withdrawal of funds from MOH. I He cleared Masabo to talk about the hearses, I like what he said about packts in Zambia. I just like everything about this press conference. I never voted for him but this conference but be one of the things he needs to do for me more and more, I now considering giving him my vote in 2011.
SOME OF MY SUPPORTERS ON THIS BLOGG HAVE HEARTS LIKE MINE…. MITIMA KWATI NJOKA IMWE BA STANA. THATS ZAMBIA FOR YOU CHAPS
Yeah ! Good joke # 90.I will be happy if he resigned tonight.

Prepare for hard times ahead.
Check out my name ….my pipo have died in my country because of not liking the results … Zambian will always be taken for a ride ccoz leaders know they aint got GUTS…. lwenu its time for Dora to enjoy that reminds me Bloggers what do u think little miss thandi thinks of the hubby’s extra affair with mama elephant
….ala again RB eminine pa kupesha ebena Zambia. I think this man thinks its those old days when leaders could do whatever they wanted and nobody questions them. Times have changed Shikulu
This man really needs to drop dead ASAP!!
I have to say what is lating this government down is the inability of the president to actually fire those that are not working. As he mentioned there is something wrong if from districts to ministries that people have to right direct to the president when they have a problem. The people he appoints are meant to address these issues and not always refering to the president but again that the Zed Mentality.
When your father puts you incharge of a project He expects you to deal with hadles along the way. Should the people working under you start going direct to your father they undermine your authority your father will incarriage you to deal with it otherwise he might reconsider his decision
Press conference of the Century.NIFUNSEKO.ALI NORMAL UYU.God help us !
It looks like Ba Moze, Zoe, Honey, etc BP nayima. NO COMMENTS FROM THEM……
Yabaa, I dont need that crap personal to holder, I want my Harmer H3, atleast when going to manda hill an arcades
Mwabombeni bakateka!
#90 finshi upepele. Whatever it is that you ve smoked must be very strong stuff!!
Does anyone know of the ‘pornographic’ pictures of a woman giving birth at UTH that made RB blow his top at the conference? He was so incensed about this and kept on referring to this and mentioned that these were the same photographers who made him ‘appear’ to sit next to Dora at Sun hotel! I understand its a picture of a woman giving birth outside UTH coz of the strike.RB didnt tell us where he saw them just that its pornography and someone should be arrested! Anyone with info?
The conference degenerated into a Post hatefest. Honestly, should the president be preocuppied with how Fred spends time with his family? And how come there were no Post Reporters at the conference? I doubt they would have been present and then strangely stay silent. The president also failed to resolve the strike or at least reassure the nurses over the way forward. No rest of the speech fell far below what most Zambians expected. Even the monkeys were so annoyed they pissed on him
Am surprised that all you bloggers are disappointed at the out come of this briefing. The man was just advised that he should at least make some effort to speak to Zambia about whatever will come out of him. This was after your pressure. Please keep the pressure we are almost there. The ignoring of the post is most unfortunate. Ithought the Times and Daily could have now finished of the post considering the massive support from GRZ
Zambia has money, only you chaps dont know how to access it
Was this man (RB) also anointed by God ?
I feel sorry for the foreign diplomats that are subjected to such a circus.I wonder why RB wants to contest the 2011 elections if he can`t even manage to effectively finish LPM`s term.RB must not insult the inteligence of Zambians by using what is supposed to be an important fora for cheap political shots. This UNIPIST is using colonial mentality to govern the nation in the 21st centuary. I have already stated that his advisers must be seriously questioned about their loyalty.
#90 Zero Sum Fimo fimo; You just to give a different opinion tefyo?
He even accused the Post of circulating pornographic pictures of women giving birth! I have consistently bought this paper and I did not see these pictures. Instead of the president becoming annoyed that he was forwarded these pictures, he should have sat down and done something about the situation which resulted in the said pictures. What seems to have annoyed the president is that pictures of a woman giving birth were circulated and not the fact that there was no hospital in which to give birth. Apparently it is normal to give birth at bus stops as long as no pictures are taken!
All you chaps are expecting too much from the man who has just left his farm to coma and but fertilzer, but found himself at plot one..Hahahaha, They have denied me bail, they are yet to discover shocking stuff.
#81 sata ,walitumpa ,we have nothing against MMD,but the leadership.everything is falling apart, this is very bad to us.the gorvernment has lost its ground, respect ,dignity.the strikes thats going on in zambia .Our mother zambia is badly F#ked up.we need to mobilise our selves for 2011 and choose a proper leader who can put us back on track.
LT whose flag are you assigning to my name #104? Ndi mu Zambia! Iam not ‘hot’enough for you to conceal my location!
Mr president, e finshi ifi
In fact, the polisi is fantazing on my wife as she is round and plump….It is all from my own sweat and business.
by the way was the post there? if they were, why didn’t they ask a question? or he forgot? or he will blame dickson jere for everything!!!
SPLAKA,be careful,RB will move near, you look Cute.Is that Car yours,or you were on business?
Oh no # 113 don’t count on 2011 elections. They too will be rigged.
This is just a slideshow prepare for the main event.
RB wasted a very good opportunity to make good on many of his shortcomings and it only goes to show that he has truly failed to provide leadership to the nation. Why complain about HH and his followers? Why condenm the many Zambians that think HH is making a lot of sense politically and in analysing many issues that our beloved nation is faced with? RB should have used this time to come up with clear and concise road maps on the many issues facing our country today instead of the arrogance and ignorance he displayed. Zambia needs better leadership and if it means HH it shall surely be so for we atired of leaders who can’t see beyond their noses. At least if he resigned he would have sered the nation better than him sticking out his poor leadership and embrass himself further. Well done…
#90 waligomauka the least I can say. Whatever you said does not make any sense.
#104 It’s a very sad affair. The photo shows a woman giving birth, far from pornography. I wonder why such an old man would relate such a picture to porn. It’s far from it. A woman in pain while giving birth can never be porn. He’s dirty minded.
This man is a proper f*ool! He is the ionly one who has been doing the travelling, so what is he talking about?
Ati mudala bachimusundila bakolwe? This is hilaroius.
Even Monkeys are fed up of him
Iam happy to note that most of LT ”critics” are foreign based. You live in imaginary worlds. Ngwenya ,we dont need your half baked analysis here, save it for SATA ,HH and Mmembe. Very childish indeed.
Why do we deserve a person like you RB. I am ashamed to be a Zambian with such a head of state. Why don’t you spare us of your incompetency and cluelessness. You need help from God to show you how to lead people, maybe take time to pray for wisdom its never too late.God helps.I pray for you as my leader but I think you must also desire to change.God help Zambia.
#122 concerned Zambian; Is there anywhere we can see the same picture.
We need brain simulators in Zed…humans are fast asleep in that country…RB cant rule for a week in Nigeria….
Let Banda rule its his time. Time ya ba mbuya aba bemba ina sila.
All those sent to jail and on trial are bembas. At least RB is not filthy as you bembas. RB 2011…….RB 2011
KAPOKO NAUSAMWA SANA..JUST BECAUSE U DID NOT WORK FOR THOSE THINGS YOU STOLE SO IT DOES NOT PAIN U…..H3 KWISA TEFYOBE WHEN U GO TO PRISON U WONT TALK .STOP PLAYING WITH TAX PAYERS MONEY LAZY MAN
That aint no press conference. That was a rally which was “CONTENT FREE” as a learned collegue put it.Atleast i will be able to be half Zambian soon.Being a full Zambian sucks
2011 Prof Chirwa for Prez!
Stop crying to God !!!
God is not a voter! God never mentions democracy in the Bible. You choose democracy and you reap its fruits!
Of course there is a way out. Within the realm of democracy you can remove RB from power!
Where did democracy come from… America? Americans hold demonstrations when they are not satisfied with their leaders.. I don’t ever remember when the general Zambians demonstrated with consistency against govt.
Ask UNZA to teach you! If you want results you have to be tough and mean business! If you are afraid the police will whip you then forget about change in Zambia! This is time to act, if we don’t, Teta and Rupiar will smile and wave the HOUR to us.
So stop bothering God! You think God is so wicked to give you RB? They chose Saul and you chose…
1we #128 Kalitako mwa yambako ifya chimbuya apa nayimwe
RB 2011
there is no hope and for those who have always tried to castigate most of the bloggers for being pessimistic, this should further give enough evidence and a justified cause why we have no kind words for MMD and RB. it’s such a sad situation, before we would laugh it off, but now we cannot afford to. its pathetic
#70, you wished it were a dream!! My Bro, just awake from your sumber its for real! What do you expect from Ru-Beer with an a study in Economic history of history as a qualification and purports to be qualified. Studying history of Economic history, no insult at all to the scholars in the same vine!!
ni malilo pa zed

We r in truble. The man is corrupt thru and thru. doesnt have the needs of Zambians at heart. He’s a combination of stupidity and mediocrity.
They chose Saul and you Chose RB as leader. FULL STOP!
I am shocked that RB would support the tarrif increment as proposed by Zesco. Not too long ago I mentioned that the seating of ERB in various cities was just a formality. When Zesco proposes a tarrif hike it is not proposal but rather a notification. Mr Mwansa had very good ideas on how Zesco could get their much needed revenue but evidently no one paid attention. How foolish can Zesco and RB be to think in this recession his people will afford to pay their bills. Other countries give their people cash to up lift the economy but RB wants to reap where he did not sow. Pathetic!
WE JUST SURVIVE BY THE GRACE OF GOD WE HAVE NO PRESIDENT
ya ya ya malabishi
#130 you must be related to him if you think such a foolish thing

All the guys in opposition have atleast once consulted me when they are having elections in their respective parties.Sata,I have advised him not to have a Convention in his party coz I know he cant win even in his party.HH also knowing that he is still young in politics,I have told him never to allow a convention in his party. So i dont only help MMD but I help everyone.Hahaha.uushifwaya ukulya ninani.
Now, if any of you was doubting the behindness of the presi and hence the siliness of his cabinet are pretty clear.
One supprising thing, Kaunda is mute over all this. He used to speak against Mwanawasa, why cant he condemn this man if he was as patriotic as he pretends. These foreigners Chiluba, Banda and Kaunda have really done Zambia bad. Why cant we just deport them to their countries??
HE Prezido RBB is incurably lost and actually acts and speaks as one. Actuall he does not know that he does’t know what he is doing otherwise he would have made some effort to work on his shortcomings. Under the circumstances, I will re-echo the same warning as by 1984. “Prepare for hard times ahead”. Zed is rapidly crumbling down right before our eyes and that is excatly what the globalist powers would love to see.
The only Zambia presi Levei was attacked by Bakabwala aba all the time. Fellow country Men, watch for these aliens. They will finish us off. In their countries, Congo, Zimbabwe and Malawi, you can not be allowed to be president as a Zambian. Zambians are friendly people and are not thick skined. Imwe, these are aliens and are bent to destroy our beloved country.
The picture in question is far from being porn, that is the reality, apparently the helpless woman was just lying on the floor. What happened to beds? certainly they are noy participants in the strike
You will talk and no one will listen to you.who are you? Even in Malawi they know me,South Africa they know me…name any Nation in Southern Africa..thats what Intelligence does…my son HH cant rule anyone not when am still alive.Sata knows me because I also helped him in 1996 when he was campaigning for Chiluba to win.So? HakaSata wont work even in 2011…hahahahahaha

Even on the street, Zambias are generally loving and caring, but where did these people come from to haunt us so much that we are dying in the streets yet we have hospitals. What has gone wrong country men. What has befallen our rich country that we should be the last in the world on poverty, health care…and just almost everything??. Foolish brother like Teta, VJ, and Shikapwasha have sold theire country. OOOHHH Cry mother Zambia….Where are our strong Men, our children, the future leaders?? Cant we make history once again and be the first country to deport these crooks??
RB Chipuba sana, for sure there is no President in Zambia. He is always travelling, funerals, Birthday party, Kitchen parties notomfwila Echombela nganda konse kuya. RB walipena
The monkey said it all. By the way LT whats the logic in threatening to ban me from viewing your site. I pay for the service. Are trying to create another China or Iran. NI BU N YAMA S OYA ubo
It seems Rupiah Banda doesnt fail to disappoint. There was absolutely no substance in his address. No leadership qualities in this man uh uh.
People, please help me???? Has this so called Democracy failed in Africa? Are governments of national unity the way forward as democracy is concerned in Africa? Should people protest and shed blood for leaders in democratic countries to hear what the majority need? Is democracy a system for the corrupt to empower themselves? Does democracy mean a ruling party should continue holding on to power through abuse and rigging at the expense of the poor majority? Does democracy mean the opposition and ruling party should not work together for the benefit of the nation? Is democracy only suitable for rich countries?
140 Dalitso greetings. On your “I am shocked that RB would support the tarrif increment as proposed by Zesco. Not too long ago I mentioned that the seating of ERB in various cities was just a formality. When Zesco proposes a tarrif hike it is not proposal but rather a notification.” Our President and his Administration do not have guts to argue out points when they meet with those who fund them and so all they do in meetings must be lisen and then agree to whatever proposals.
Zambia is in this SADC arrangement also which shares power (electricity) and sits in meetings to decide the way forward. Unfortunately for us Zambians, our economy is very weak compared to Botswana, Namibia and South Africa, but we seem to just agree on whatever others propose
This is why HH…
Hahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! until we become like Madagascar or Iran thats when maybe things might change, otherwise we will talk talk talk talk talk until no more. For our future to be bright there has to be sacrifice. remember our forefathers foght for this freedom we enjoy and therefore if we want to shape the future according to how we want it to be this is the time.

Wesley, your analysis can be best described as shallow. And to all the bolggers saying all the negative things about the conference, please can you point out to me one issue affecting our beloved nation that you feel the President did not adequately respond to?
I really want objective analysis of this conference unlike the one that Wesley has provided so bloggers please give me one issue which you felt the President did not adequately address. Am waiting.
All I want is to make aleaving for my Children and my family..I will join the Pact later so that I campaign for Mr Sata in North Western…Please Zambians I know what am doing.Just deceiving RB..
it’s official. I have given up on Bwezani cause he’s just exposed himself. Now the whole world knows he’s not got no grip on his very own people.
LT Nice critique really – pity that the ruled are cleverer than the rulers (I am being sarcastic here). Anyway can the the nation stand another 1.5 years of this mental abuse??…. that waits to be seen. My bet is yes – we tolerated this sort of nonsense for the last 17.5 year, 6.5 more will not kill us. RB 2011!!
165 continued.
This is why (president) HH …, a negotiator, is needed to be Zambians President after any election we will be having soon so that he can apply his skills to win Zambia and Zambians good deals.
Otherwise, should we have illiterates or semi-illiterates leading Zambia as President and MPs, Zambia will never develop in empowering its Citizens.
How sad that our whole lot of President RB Banda can say the 66% electricity tarriff increment is alright while he has only given 15% pay rise to civil servants.
Whatever that Masters in Economic History President RB Banda studied, it surely has not helped him in his life and this is why for about 70 yrs of his life, he failed to make money as shown in his declaring 3 Billion Kwacha in 2008 at election time.

WHO IS THE PRESIDENT OF ZAMBIA?
ON SATA YOU ARE RIGHT BA RB COZ IF IT WAS SATA’S TIME NURSES STOPPING WORK LIKE THIS NGA BALINGISHI KA LE TUMBI TU NURSE…
Wesley thanks for your summary. I won`t bother reading the papers tomorrow. The sad reality is he is going to win again in 2011. As long as this VJ lives we are in for it for now.
172 continued.
The lost attacks on president HH by President RB Banda at the wasted Press Conference today only show the whole world that HH has seriously caused panic in the MMD GRZ.
Let us continue to witness these rattlings in the MMD over the man of the moment HH as they fell more heat from president HH as UPND-PF leader.
Surely, both PACT leaders are right when indicating the MMD is giving them an easy target for 2011 campaigns to form a new GRZ for Zambians after the upcoming 2011 tripartite elections.

# 37 KADOYO LOL you are insane that’s a cracker. You had me bellow out so loud, everyone is now on my screen asking what’s funny……….he’s more useful to the hippopotamuses in the Kafue than to the Zambian people
A monkey urinated on RB’s head at that press conference. bad omen
Iam disappointed with RB’s speech. Very boring, no substance at all. No wonder a monkey urinated him while addressing the nation and went on saying these are BLESSINGS.
Educate me people. I don’t seem to understand what the President meant, and it is very common now, that HH is insulting him. Any criticism is an insult? So people should stop criticising him!
#165, #172, HABUPAMPU good to know you thought about my suggestion. JSYK, MY best friend is Tonga and she is the most beautiful person (inside and outside) I have ever met. Any ways I don’t know much about HH, but if his negotiation skills are on par, then thats a man I would give a second thought.
What a waste of time. RB is definately reading the political barometre correctly. Its currently at 99 degrees celcius – 1 below boiling point!
LT, why are u deleting peoples comments? Pipo r concerened about the “full” we call our president. I am definately coming home to vote in 2011…we cannot go on like this. How can a president hold a press conference to talk about matters that he should have quietly resolved…..
#180, and why are you here? go on an argue…….objectively
Zambians do not forget that the president is a retired failed politician. In addition he was redeemed from a farm in Chipata where he was herding cows and goats. Therefore, you are expecting too much from this cluess farmer cum president. Anyway you Zambians have made your bed so lie in it until 2011.
Free advice to the opposition: START WORKING ON THE MINDSET OF THE PEOPLE IN RURAL AREAS NOW!!!
For those of you who wanted to know what RB had to say on the strikes…..this is what he had to say. The full speech is on the post website for those with access to the post online..”
May I appeal to our workers to be sensitive to the economic reality that this country is facing. You may want to learn from other countries, such as Ireland, where workers are taking salary cuts as a result of the global economic crisis. Another example is the British airways employees who have agreed to go without a month’s salary to help the company. That is the kind of attitude we need to inculcate in our people, including myself as president and ministers.”
It was just a case of keeping up appearances. The guy has nothing to offer Zambia.
he continued to say “We have experienced over the past weeks a series of strikes. I am aware that civil servants need to earn a living wage. However, we must also be aware that the government is operating a tight budget. Clearly, government cannot afford to give the salaries being asked for, given the current economic environment, domestic and global. We must understand that Zambia is a poor country”
Above commentary is critical but devoid of the ‘specifics’ that the RB was supposedly expected to address. I thought the issues are: the nurses strike, the economy, stolen money from ministries etc. All of which were touched upon, maybe not adequately. People wanted minister X fired, minister Y appointed and call that kind of circus appointments as ‘specifics’. Grow up
Got no words for this stupid fool. its annoying.
THIS BLOG REPRESENTS THE CRY OF THE PEOPLE FOR ZAMBIA. I SEE LUPIYA’S FALL BEING WORSE THAN THAT OF THE JERICHO WALLS. WAIT AND SEE, HE WON’T LAST TILL 2011.
Am still wetin for one of these over 100 bloggers to pin point on item they thought RB did not fully address at the press conference and how they expected him to do it. Any real bloggers over there?

185 Dalitso thanks to know you got a super Tonga best friend following your “JSYK, MY best friend is Tonga and she is the most beautiful person (inside and outside) I have ever met. Any ways I don’t know much about HH, but if his negotiation skills are on par, then thats a man I would give a second thought“.
President HH is a well known negotiator and he studied risk management. This is why he led the receivership of LCM in 1997 or so and hence his participation is privatisation of our mines.
Unfortunately, many ill-informed characters overlook president HH’s MBA credentials and his work track record, but are quick to accuse him of having plundered Zambian resources.
However, I believe the PACT will clear this in campaigns…

#166, ANTI-MMD, I WAS AT A LOSS AS WHAT WE ZAMBIANS REALLY WANT. DO WE WANT THE EXCITEMENT OF MOVIES OR DO WE WISH TO LIVE IN THE HARD WORLD OF REALITY. #166, HAS GIVEN AN ANSWER. WE WANT TO BE LIKE MADAGASCR OR IRAN. IN MADACASCAR THEY PUT RAVALOMANANA IN POWER THROUGH A MOB AND WHERE ARE THEY NOW. THEY HAVE JUST PUT A DISC JOCKEY IN POWER THROUGH MOB PSYCHOLOGY. DO YOU THINK HE WILL TAKE THEM FAR. AS FOR IRAN THEY HAVE A RELIGIOUS DICTATORSHIP AND AS i WRITE OVER 30 PEOPLE HAVE BEEN KILLED IN THE ELECTORAL CRISIS. RUPIA MAY BE INSULTED EVERY DAY AS YOU DO BUT EVERY DAY YOU WILL GO HOME SAFE AND WAKE UP IN YOUR BED SAFE THE FOLLOWING DAY. YOU WANT MICHAEL SATA TO PUT MORE MONEY IN YOUR POCKET. YOU MUST BE THE ***** OF THE VILLAGE. RESPECT THE DEMOCRATIC PROCESS. IT IS THE ONLY WAY.
#187, Habapumpu, “President HH is a well known negotiator and he studied risk management. This is why he led the receivership of LCM in 1997 or so and hence his participation is privatisation of our mines,” I thought that was Chris Mulenga.

The Monkey that peed on Ru-Beer is a brave creature, more brave than those ministers that worship him (teta, dora, mulongoti, etc)
At least, it was brave enough to show the world what it thought of him.

#184, hh ISULTED rb BY SAYING THAT rb HAD AN AFFAIR WITH DORA. RB IS A FRIEND OF MR SILIYA THE FATHER OF DORA. INSAYING THIS HH OVERSTEPPED THE BOUNDS OF POLICS. NO ONE IN THE WESTERN DEMOCRACY WOULD MAKE SUCH AN INSUATION ABOUT A POLITICAL OPONENT. THAT IS THE INSULT AND THAT IS WHY RB WAS SO ANGRY. WE SHOULD KNOW THE BOUNDARIES OF POLITICS.
Kabwe,
It was a shame seeing the president trying to explain issues and tying himself in the same breath. eg. on the hearses, he distances himself and in a minute i thought he was gonna crack a wip, he imbraces it by even directing his officers do distribute them fast.
He embarrassingly tries to explain his budget that pays 50% of it to personnel emoluments of public workers (to 1% of the population) of the budget, but forgets to explain how much less than 150 people( Ministers and MPs) get from the national cake.
He appeals to our conscience, but cant appeal to the conscience of his freinds to give up there huge pay.
Look at the way he rants against the post, for reporting the effect of the strike. Does he know what pornography is? And he gets away with it fening righteous…
# 164, we must redefine democracy and set its boundaries properly, otherwise it is a weak way of governing in poor countries.
Poor countries need a revised democracy from that of rich countries. There are simply no proper boundaries! The president can easily abuse his power and the people’s voice cannot be heard most of the time.. yet it is supposed to be a govt of, by, and for the people! This is not working!
I think we should name that monkey Ru -pee -r! lol

“shame on the Zambians who are under the leadership of HH.”
I totally agree with the president. In my opinion, HH is running a terrorist organization that is bent on causing anarchy in this nation. It is no coincidence that after the UPND publicly stated that they plan to make Zambia ungovernable, ZESCO assets where tempered with. Also a lawyer who might be in connection with HH’s organization publicly urged Zambians not to be peaceful. HH’s organization has also formed a pact with another organization who’s leaders’ history is well known with the panga-machete violence which he carried out and rumors floating around that members of his organization are taking part in armed robberies. We must be weary of such organizations bent on causing anarchy in the nation.
200 Dalitso greetings, sorry if you are the one with a small letter “d” in your name to repeat the greetings.

If Chris Mulenga was boss of Grant Thornton at that time, then please provide on details for I do not know about that. Even former President Chiluba campaigned for president HH over this case about paying Grant Thornton huge sums of money to manage the sell/sale of LCM.
I will be waiting for more.

Too late Nyama Soya. As for the Ministers parking vehicles at home, he must realise that most of them stay at dubiously acquired farms that are far from the city. Doesnt it mean that multiple trips to drop off and pick up thr ministers will not add to the effort to reduce expenditure ?

203 NKOLE WA MAPEMBWE UMFWE MILANDU greetings. Firstly, I am enjoying myself listening to Radio 4 here on the Internet through Coppernet Solutions where there is WIN A HOUSE issues and ZAMTEL shows.
Secondly, it is very hard for me to challenge you my beloved fellow Citizen over your “#184, hh ISULTED rb BY SAYING THAT rb HAD AN AFFAIR WITH DORA.“ for the word AFFAIR means many things which may not amount to insulting. If president HH provided more details on the type of affair then I understand President RB Banda’s said ANGER
On “RB IS A FRIEND OF MR SILIYA THE FATHER OF DORA. INSAYING THIS HH OVERSTEPPED THE BOUNDS OF POLICS“, it is ver sad that our politics have been reduced to friendships.

RB is a goofy mad man period. Instead of wasting our time listening to his waffles, he should just concentrate on drinking viagra so he can have sufficient erection to deal with Dora the stripper. Someone said, “there is no friendship on business” and I expected President RB Banda to run the affairs of the country as such.
The political appointments were are witnessing based on appeasing friends, supporters and bootlickers are what are causing Zambia not to move forward in terms of development. It is ver unfortunate that former President was accused of family tree and now President RB Banda will only leave a legacy of appoints family friends (e.g., Dora, Eve. Mwanawasa, Deputy Fina. Min.)

Kabwe
He talks of the opposition with impunity and contempt. Did you see him bringing and defending tribalism as he attacked the tongas?
He defends his carrying his grown children (he loves them more than we do ours) on his jaunts, and tells us that they pay their way. can this really be proved? And how much is he wasting on these same trips?
If they can spend $29million without govt approval, how can they appeal to the nations conscience to make sacrifices?.
No solutions from his generalities. He tried yet again to hoodwink us with so many words, without substance.
He is self righteous, who took to much time to castigate the opposition in a childish way. He should have addresed the corncerns of the zambians and the donors, and i feel he miserably failed.
#208, Habupampu,” If Chris Mulenga was boss of Grant Thornton at that time, then please provide on details for I do not know about that. Even former President Chiluba campaigned for president HH over this case about paying Grant Thornton huge sums of money to manage the sell/sale of LCM”
Well I remember a press conference FTJ had in which he implicated Chris Mulenga in the sell of LCM. The people of Luanshya where so enraged, I hear they had to put extra security at Chris Mulenga’s parents house to protect them from the crowds.
#80 you have cracked my ribs; LT your analysis hits the nail on the head [Too little too late]
These days the PFs are rallying behind an imaginary revolution, which revoultion when most of those yapping are simply whining as a result of the disappointment of washing dishes in foreign lands. After decades out there, they have discovered that washing dishes does more than just bruise their hands. Neither do they get the satisfaction of living in tight apartments, hardly able to earn a living wage. Grow up, work hard back home, develop your land and you will not be whining as much as you do. I can hardly come more than 10 locally based bloggers on this thread out of all these disgruntled bloggers. Grow up!
#176, You are wrong on Sata just like RB. It was Sata who improved the health sector than any other minister since independence. So how can nurses or Doctors go on strike when their working conditions and patients care were improved? Shame on you with RB the failed leader. Stop blaming others and find solutions to what is affecting the lives of ordinary Zambians. Give Mwansa back Zesco and you will see some wonders. People were made to pay the bill in return were given cooking oil and 25kg mealmealie. Many used to pay and it was Zesco helping govt to pay salaries for civil servants.

Explain to us on ZESCO, on NCZ, on job losses, … By the way, are you satisfied that he has addressed nurses and hospital problems adequately? If you want to be the devil’s advocate lets talk!
Here is a clear lesson for all folks here at home, most of the fellows abroad are not happy and are yearning to come back home. They have internalised thier disappointments and thus thru such opportunities they spill out their hearts anguish. You aught to feel for them rather than get offended with them. Some have gone to the extent of being trapped overseas with no hope of ever jumping out.
224 Dalitso, your “Well I remember a press conference FTJ had in which he implicated Chris Mulenga in the sell of LCM. We agree that something has to be done about wastefulness in GRZ. But what is the explanation of holding workshops in boardrooms at ministries? This is a blunder because while fixing one hole another has been created in the form of job losses in many lodges and hotels because these institutions hugely get businesses from GRZ. And on trips, what degree is “absolutely necessary”. What pointers are there to determine what is necessary and what is not? And who will determine the necessity of a trip?
Let us feel for these stranded brothers out there who are ever washing dishes. The fact is that washing dishes for five years is no joking matter. Some have been washing dishes for over ten years! Now, any one can understand the frustrations. Let them cry, we understand. These are are highly frustrated people who thought they would find happiness out there. The whether and the detergents have had the better of them. Cry on fellow Zambians, we know these things.
Did RB say anything on solving the STRIKE by health workers, teachers, nurses and Docs? ZAMTEL is long story needs immediate attention by recapitalization or even privatize it of necessary. Stimulate the major sectors of the economy especially Agriculture, EDUCATION, HEALTH and Social services to mitigate poverty.
Amuna comment no 62 is what i refered to in 242

Kabwe, where are you? You keep on changing positions!
Mrs.Habupampu (Maestro)
The evidence that the UPND publicly stated that “they plan to make Zambia ungovernable” is a fact. It was said on Sky FM and published in the Zambian Watchdog online news media (which is currently offline). This is a fact as there is verifiable evidence.
On the ZESCO issue, I just raised a question. Why is it that after the statement was made, ZESCO assets where tempered with??
Also the Lusaka based lawyer by the name of Wynter Kabimba stated in Fred Mwembe’s tabloid that “Zambians must not be peaceful”. This is all verifiable evidence.
My opinion is based on this evidence.
244 Mrs.Habupampu (Maestro) , on “#233 – Habupampu (Maestro) he should consider himself lucky. Off to see my precious Maestro Jnr. Stay well!!!“, he is actually blessed.
Next time, things might be different and he needs to be careful.

These fellows out there have no time to relax, hardly having enough time to see even the time to speak to their children. What has become popular thses days out there is working with those homes. They work with people with whom they an hardly relate with. So it is not surprising that they vent such emotional outbursts. Rather, feel for our brothers in need.

# 249, Matworld, Thanks!
continued from 254 a woman giving birth is hardly porn your president described. He was supposed to be apologetic for having such a scene take place( a woman unable to receive medical treatment promptly) under his watch as Zambian leader. Zambia needs to be seen to be making money, whats his plan?Copper prices are down the world is in financial crisis.Whats the plan Mr.President? He is just busy appointing commission upon commission another money wasting venture. Our leaders are so good at spending, so good at being preoccupied with vehicles.I could go on and on Do you still not get it Kabwe? Rumor has it, that RB , is very greedy when it comes to food. He used to put sneaks in his pocket and dinner parties and take food from other minsters plates. A senior minster complained at one point, a few years ago.
Even if I didnt have chance to listen to what the President had to say I can tell that he never said not a thing to ending strike by the health workers. Ba Tata Ba KK BALELILA PA PRESS CONFERENCE saying it was and indeed unethical for a DR to leave a patient dying in a hospital. Manje ba Bwezani what can you tell us. Twapapata twafweni ulupwa lwalapwa kukufwa.
Lusaka Times, this article is farce of an article. What was the objective? Was this a factual reporting of what the press conference was about? or was this the opinion of the writer about how they felt about the press conference? The world reads what you put out and you bring into question the intergrity of the journalism in Zambia.Do you have an editorial board that reviews this stuff?
This is a shame. There are facts that need to be reported what are you a gossip rag?
260 inonge greetings, on your “continued from 254 a woman giving birth is hardly porn your president described. He was supposed to be apologetic for having such a scene take place( a woman unable to receive medical treatment promptly) under his watch as Zambian leader.” The President RB Banda Administration failed on Mr Cardson Kabwe a Zambian studying in Russia and one would have thought that those affected at home are already near and can be helped, but the President and all his GRZ members have failed us Zambians again. No apology!
These are issue that president HH as leader of the UPND-PF PACT needs to explain to Zambians as failures of the MMD GRZ under President RB Banda. The campaigns must not end in towns but villages.

Calling the nation and literally talks about nothing. Does this guy have advisers on issues? Even a council man in Los Angeles might do better than our so called President. When will Zambia learn that we are short changed by the inadequacies of this kind of leadership? When will we finally wake up and see that we are led by those that need to be led?
On a very sad note, it is arguably a fact that President RB Banda is the most insulted President of a country across the whole world despite that fact that he has only ruled Zambia for about 8 months.
I hope the man will prove us ,his contructive critics and those that insult him, wrong with his silence.
All the best MMD, but please start outlining issues to the electorate before your opinion poll performance becomes less that 10% should someone do a study.

#260, Inonge, i know this is not funny but am still chuckling, ati porn. # 262 ROTFLMAO. RB sure alamoneka ati nikatubi!
Mmmmmhh! let me cook pa LT kuti walala nensala paliba drama nama intellectuals,I wish our Zambian leaders were like my fellow bloggers here.
damn!!!!!!!! what a president to have(( Its things like these that makes it sad to be Zambian
Wow! RB is very unpopular from what i gather on this blog…I don’t like him because he gets on my last nerve, but i think that he actually pisses some of you more.
I always thank God for blessing us as a nation with pipo like INONGE.My dear you have really imparted knowledge muli Kabwe ngatomfwile then I will not weste time to advise him to seekmedical attention.
Fellow blogger thank you so much for the knowledge you have poured out here I have benefited alot,I wish RB and his advisors can see this.

Honestly we have a repagnant chav for a president, i was expecting him to say something sensible about the striking civil servants, he is comparing the Zambian workers to Irish (taking salary cuts) and British Airways workers (who want to forgo one months salary), the people are well paid and we cant compare them with our civil servants. If he wants workers to even think about cutting their perks he has to lead by example.
268 Dalitso, what happened to you as regards your response to my posting 237 to you which ended with “More direct response….
If it is too tricky for you, do not worry and just relay, and enjoy your day.
Have a blessed day you all, as I sign out from this thread.

RB awe mwee!!! ” Shame on the Zambians under lthe eadership of HH” He should have finished and crowned it all by stating the truth and that is SHAME ON ALL YOU ZAMBIANS UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF RUPEE BANDA. There are a lot challenges facing our nation and RB is aloof to the difficulties everybody is encountering – its a shame really to have a prez without any vision and inspiration .
#227 MAESTRO, GREETINGS.. THE LAST TIME I HEARD OF TOTAL WAR, WAS IN RELATION TO SHAKA – ZULU. OF COURSE PUBLIC AFFAIRS CAN NOT BE RUN ON THE BASIS OF FRIENDSHIPS. AND OF COURSE RB HAS NOT SPENT PUBLC MONEY TO BUILD A ROAD GOING TO A FRIEND’S HOUSE. POLITICS IS NOT TOTAL WAR WHERE EVERY POSIBLE ACTION OR ATTACK IS ACCEPTABLE. IN POLITICS YOU CAN NOT INSULT YOUR OPPONENT’S DEAD PARENTS. YOU ATTACK POLICIES AND CONDUCT UNBECOMING OF A PUBLIC SERVANT. MAESTRO, EVERY ONE UNDERSTOOD WHAT HH MEANT ABOUT THE AFFAIR WITH DORA. HH SHOULD LEAVE SUCH UTTERANCES TO HIS CADRES. HE REPRESENTS AN ALTERNATIVE GOVERNMENT AND HE SHOULD BEHAVE LIKEWISE. OF COURSE MMEMBE HAS TRANS FORMED OUR POLITICS INTO EXTREMISM. BUT THERE IS LOT TO BE SAID FOR MODERATION. IT SHOWS MATURITY . RB SHOULD SHOW IT…
RB must focus on cutting back on so many of the irrelevant trips he makes if we`re to see any substantial savings.Does he even have an idea of the dollar amount that his trips cost the tax payer.Recently,he went to SA for a simple procedure as arthroscopic surgery that could be done locally.Does he need to be reminded that he is the main culprit in terms of govt wastage.
Anonymous, don’t generalize your situation. If you are suffering where you are that’s your own problem. Me, and I believe the majority of Zambians in the diaspora are doing far much better, economically, than they would otherwise do if they were in Zambia. The fact is Zambians in the diaspora are most exposed and as such they have a better understanding of the mediocrity of the Zambian political leadership of RB. If for instance you are always listening to Obama put across his ideas, and then this buffoon RB utters such nonsesnse, what would you say. You don’t see many people living in Zambia blogging for obvious reasons: either they have no access to internet or they are not sufficiently enlightened on what’s going on around the world. To me, RB is simply a brainless piece of sh*t!
#263 gen mm, even if I have not found any major issue which the president has said, I doubt the truth in your info about KK crying because of doctors’ strike. When was that? Was it the reason we had a lot Cuban doctors?I bet you are a doctor yourself and so your want to justify their indispensibility.
#278, CHAPI, that money comes from Zesco coffers. Why do you think he supported the tarrif increase of 66%?
Bloggers shame on you the Man is full of sense. I have now seen. No presido like RB in the all world today. He is a Great man full of wisdom
Uyu Chibwi how dare he says HH is like his Son when has grabb HHs Girl Friend
Does RB know what pornography is? The Post reporting the ills of the strike he brought about is factual reporting and bringing to the fore what is transpiring within our nation. His “righteous indignation” should have moved him to see the shame his poor leadership is bringning on to the nation. Our mothers giving birth in public places. He should do something and not blame others.
When the ministers tasked to do a task fail he needs to step in on time. Rubbish Band no wonder the monkey said it loud us what we cant.
#281 DALITSO…..I remember in secondary when we were learning about the differences between vectors and scalar quantities.I think RB is a best example of a scalar as one that only has magnitude without direction.RB seems to always be reacting to situations and not being proactive.
Enough of cheap talk and no action bloggers!
The question now is, what are you gonna do about it?
Give solutions, give some ideas, give some answers!
No more empty talk!
I lyk #2,ati reduce foreign travelling,we he himself seams to know more about the inside of the hotels he has visited all over the world tha he knows about his own country, this man does not speak lyk a president.the bwezani administration is here to ruin our lives.
277 ba NKOLE WA MAPEMBWE UMFWE MILANDU thanks and great stuff from you. I particularly liked your “IN POLITICS YOU CAN NOT INSULT YOUR OPPONENT’S DEAD PARENTS. YOU ATTACK POLICIES AND CONDUCT UNBECOMING OF A PUBLIC SERVANT. MAESTRO, EVERY ONE UNDERSTOOD WHAT HH MEANT ABOUT THE AFFAIR WITH DORA. HH SHOULD LEAVE SUCH UTTERANCES TO HIS CADRES.
You know what, I am very sad that my fellow Zambian or world Citizens can sink so low as to insult a fellow human being. I have tried to help them, but it has been tricky for some have even insulted my late father However, that is ok as insults do not pay anything save left the one issuing them in a depressed mode.
Coming to President RB Banda, I hope he will learn to use weakness to show his strength. We need direction from him.
The monkey that urinated on RB’s head was actually sent by Sata, claims Teta Mashi. He claims that Sata hates RB so much that he sent his Chitulika monkey to state house to urinate on Rb’s head. However, RB claims that a monkey’s urine is a blessing in disguise as it symbolises that Bembas recognise him as their leader – What a lot of rubbish!!!
288 continued. Contnuing on We need direction from him. What needs to be done by you people close to him is that ask him to stop running GRZ by responding to the POST articles and editorials.
Tell my beloved his excellence (HE) President RB Banda, that Maestro would like to hear Mr President unleashing a convincing economic plan for Zambia. Mr President RB Banda needs to behave like former President N.M. Mandela by standing on his initial words and leaving the young MMD senoir members battle it out with the likes of president HH (MBA, UK) and Clive Chirwa (PhD, UK) should he succeed with his new congolomerate moves with Brig Gen G. Miyanda – following some bloggers’ information.
Tell Mr President the he has had a long a distinguished career even serving Namibia President.
I suspect he was drunk. Too much ma ”irrele”. Probably instead of sipping ”Manzi” he was sipping ”Gin”. I hear he likes it a lot.
288 continued. Contnuing on Tell Mr President the he has had a long a distinguished career even serving Namibia President — if I am correct.
Please, inform Mr President it will be very costly for him to let this good CV end in losing elections the way former President KK did lose in 1991 to the MMD.
There is lot of time for MMD to reconcile and Magande (MA, UK?) including Katele Kalumba (PhD, USA?) are good men who can make MMD win the 2011 elections.
I have always mentioned that I do not trust the PF self-appointed leader MC Sata (Grade 2/6, unknown!) and I am looking for people to support other than president HH and the UPND Team who might disappoint me by letting honourable Sata (Sub B/Standard 4, ?) led the UPND-PF PACT as presidential candidate.

This is very unfortunate and his excellence (HE) President RB Banda needs to live above such pettiness and concentrate on outlining issues that will build the Nation.
Unfortunately, he leaves his MPS and other senior MMD members to advance tribalism in Zambia. Let MMD stop being prophets of doom on the PF-UPND PACT, but concentrate on governing Zambia and giving us Zambians what we are in dire need of.
Finally, the behaviour of sending senior GRZ people for treatment using pubilc money to SA must end.

288 continued. Contnuing on Finally, the behaviour of sending senior GRZ people for treatment using pubilc money to SA must end. Otherwise, do we need to read from donors and other cooperating partners that this trend has to come to a halt?
Let us as a nation show the West that we can do things without them coaching us. We have the knowledge and some of us are at the cut-edge of research in our field of study. This entails that we as a people, Zambians, are capable of doing our own things in a better way without the West telling us what to do.
So, let us be like China and keep our own money in Zambia as opposed to giving it to South Africa which is almost developed.
Have a blessed day you all and take careful care.

Why does everyone seem surprised? Did you really expect anything else today? The cause is long lost my friends, even for those of you die-hard optimists. You can plant delele and expect apples. You are reaping what you sowed. Just learn to live with it.
It’s truly sad when your own people start wishing terrible things to happen to you simply because of your pig-headedness and refusal to see things only your way. It’s tragic that any sensible person would want to leave a legacy like that. You Mr banda are one such. You will forever go in infamy alongside Saddam Hussein and Hitler for presiding ofer the deaths of your own children.
It’s a sad day when your own people start wishing you death and all sorts of horrible things to happen to you. You Mr. President have, the Judas Iscariot-like pushing of Tetamashimba, Shikapwasha, et al) brought this country down to this level. How can you be proud of a record that only in the 8 months you have been in power your own citizens could be wishing you dead? You have to think deeply about this, seriously, even as your dwindling admirers continue to shield you from the sentiments and true opinion and feelings of Zambians, such the Lusaka Times which continuously blocks true opinions and allows through obly those that are praise-singing. Time will tell.
Habupampu (Maestro) I think you need help. Seriously.
Dollar C-Liar Banda @ 297. I agree completely. I doubt this guy is normal. You can’t harbor such hatred for one person forever. and be so totally obsessed with one person! It’s a sickness, he needs to seek some help!
I was shocked to hear how he lashed out at Patrick Mwanawasa. Why didn’t he take the young man aside and listening to his concerns. Totally unbelievable!
from the BBC….edited. .A cheeky monkey decided to spend a penny on Zambian President Rupiah Banda – as he held a news conference on the economy in the capital Lusaka. Mr Banda was not peeved, making light of the rude interruption as he sat under a tree in State House grounds. Journalists laughed as Mr Banda jokingly remonstrated with the offender: “You [monkey] have urinated on my jacket.”
“Perhaps these are blessings,” he said, looking up at the animal in the tree. The BBC’s Musonda Chibamba in Zambia says she is not aware of any superstition in the country connecting monkey urine to good fortune. There are also many species of antelope and bird in the State House grounds, according to Reuters news agency.
A a, so the President did not announce his resignation?
WIth Banda at the helm it’s like a catoon show, isn’t it? Respect?! Who is advising this man? Entering politics means you are in the public eye therefore public scrutiny. I will give RB advice FOR FREE: THERE’S NO RESPECT IN POLITICS!! You want respect, take up some other occupation. And in Banda’s case, Chicken rearing. Don’t expect Zambians to sit back in the name of respect when you run the country like a little corner shop replete with corrupt ministers and public officers. Dignified burial? What about dignified living first and foremost. That way you’d have fewer people needing any premature burials.
I am as surprised as you are GUNDIX (302). I was expecting him not to even show up but send one of his spokesmen to announce the resignation
I was expecting this president to quit during the press conference he had during the day but to my suprise he seems to be more sturborn. Its the first time to here such a dull president in my entire life, how can can he fail to distiguish between a porngraphic pic and a photo which was meant to be news? You are such a dull president that Zambia has ever had and I can’t imagine what those foreign Delegates are now thinking of Zambia?hehehehehehehehehehehehehehe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Next time please support Magande. People that know economics and finance and have shown integrity are the only way forward for any developing country.
That[‘s why siti bwelela mpaka you grow up, boma!!
Our President is educated for those that think that education is the answer, what Zambia needs is performance and not only degrees, anyone who can perform is welcome degree or no degree. Change in Zambia will not come only by blogging we need to get into rural Zambia and educate them about what we know otherwise we shall have the same situation in 2011. People can blog here 24 hrs and insult each other about the best candidate but as long as Rural Zambia has the diamond key of determining the President ,2011 will come and the situation will get worser. We need to take it upon ourselves to ensure that rural Zambia changes. God bless Zambia.
There are some things about presidents called Banda: 1, they always come senile, 2. they like young Mbumba. 3. they condone corruption. Banda’s speach was heartbreaking in its lack of content and vision for the future. Is this what Mr. Aka is now busy advising Banda on how to govern Zambia, from A to Z?
Tbag and those over 100 other bloggers who think pornoprahy is journalism, i feel for you.I still believe and objectively so that the President was spot on on so many issues affecting this beautiful nation, the strikes, social sectors, response to the global economic crisis,NCC, anti corruption and offcourse the economy.
Imwe mwe bantu, do not worry about C.H.I.K.A.LA President nabanankwe abena Teta, Mulongoti. nkaba dribbler nga shapwa imilandu shandi.
Zambia bashitisha kwapwa
Never teach old dogs new tricks
Ladies & gentlemen Such is the leadership we have. We can do nothing for now but we have one thing within our reach and that is the pact PF/UPND. outside this pact, we are going to continue with clowns like RB. My heart bleeds.
Mr Kabwe, i would like to remind you that even under Hitler, Mussolini, Chiluba, they had beneficiaries and you sound like a beneficiary for RB. Am sorry for you.
LT, this reporting is not accurate as it pertains number 3 in yo article. After having access to a full document I have noticed that you economised on truth by saying “Government workshops should be held in ministry boardrooms not lodges and hotels” instead of saying “the number of workshops be drastically reduced and by all means possible held within government ministries and boardrooms to cut down on costs”. With your twisting of what was the actual statement one wonders whether you are not just fermenting attacks on RB. Just look at your headline as well.
now i understand why hez called Rupiah Bwezanikumbuyo Banda
Ladies and Gentlemen we should be disappointed with Rupiah Bamba. To be disappointed is assume that the man can actually perform. If it had been Obama giving a press conference like that I would be definitely be disappointed.
Woe to VJ, woe to all those who voted for RB. May gravel fill your mouths before your time comes.
Imwe i need some prophet to interpret the meaning of the monkey urinating on the president’s head while he was delivering the speech
this is the President u voted for!! SHAME ON EVERYONE THAT VOTED ON MMD
Monkey marks President
24 June 2009, 18:38
Lusaka – A monkey urinated on Zambian President Rupiah Banda as he spoke to reporters outside his State House offices on Wednesday.
“You have urinated on my jacket,” a startled Banda told the monkey, one of many that makes their home in the trees outside his offices.
“I will give this monkey for lunch to Mr Sata,” he joked, referring to opposition leader Michael Sata, who Banda defeated in last year’s elections.
Banda devoted much of his second news conference as president to reassuring Zambians over the dramatic economic slowdown resulting from plunging prices for copper, the country’s main export.
“Our growth prospects have diminished, such that the projected gross domestic product has now been revised downwards to 4.0…
Zesco needs to increase tarrifs to sustain high operating costs due to inefficencies and overblotted workforce. Even after being highly automated, they still have a very high labour force per activity. Customers should not be made to pay for keeping unnecessary employees but for the cost of producing and delivering power.
TRIBUNALS ARE WAYS OF MAKING ALLOWANCES – LEGALISED INSTITUTIONALISED PLUNDER.
May be we expect too much from RB. We may be more at peace once we really understand what he is able to deliver. In all honesty, is he really capable?
May the Lord give him wisdom.
There goes RB( R.u.b.b.i.s.h Banda ) again with his rubbish talk!! This is want happens when you have RUBBISH. BANDA as president :(((
# 109, Zambia has very little money…. Our export is $0.000000000000.
Guys…
Face it !!! you just hate R.B for no reason at all. Whatever RB does, you dont appreciate. RB has tried his best to steer this country in the right direction. He took over office when times were bad…global crisis, up surging dollar rate name them. It could not have made any difference even if it was HH or King Cobra.
Please let us all give him support and not condemning for the sake of that. The press conference covered all issues and I feel it had a lot of issues covered.
I think i was better off smoking my weedy on the rooftop than rushing to hear the nonsense from RB. Cry the beloved country. Zambia will rise again in 2011. I miss my Levy Patrick Mwanawasa.
Some of you bloggers who are not in Zed are so FAKE. If you have a plan on how to remove RB tell us don’t hide behind pseudo names and insult the man because you are far from Zed. Some of you left Zed when things were tough and now you want to pretend like you care ,you were just looking out for yourselves no difference between you and Teta and RB the man is looking out for himself. If you are so concerned we would have heard you or any of your organisations abroad opposing RB’s nominations at least thats a start but you are so quite just waiting for ons in Zed to react.Wakeup and do something worth mentioning on T.V or the newspapers not just insulting RB in vernacular on Lt and thinking you are so smart.
Nyandule #326 if its RB who sponsored your way to Britain don’t try to support things which you can’t see or experience back home. RB is being flying around country to country instead of attending the country’s problems. It pains to hear from characters like you who have no idea whats happening back home. RB has no agenda for the country. The man is just a disgrace for a leader.
Anyone who decides he wants to be president is claiming he can improve the conditions of living for everyone. Now for RB to start saying, oh there was a global crisis, copper prices etc, sorry but these are not genuine excuses, we have never been a developed country, problems have always been there if you cant fix them move on, let people that have answers come in and do the job.
There is no doubt that the country was way much better under Mwanawasa. Its a shame that we have gone way backwards in just 8 months. If RB has any integrity at all he would hear the cries of all Zambians everywhere and resign.
The government should not stop holding workshops at lodges and guest houses because that is a way of empowering Zambians and creating employment for local people. It is understandable that the government wants to save money but please let us not destroy the local tourism industry by banning workshops at lodges. The government must consider taxing commercial farmers, foreign owned mining companies and other foreign investors. Last year when copper was selling high, the government was letting our wealth leave the country and now they want to be talking about reducing costs, that is nonsense. If the country had kept half of the USD$10 billion that left the country, this issue of nurses could be a non starter because the government given 100% salary increment to all public workers.
So it makes sense to carry a dead body to Chingwere cemetry in a Chinese harmer for burial than providing standard medical facilties to citizens. A dead person does not feel anything neither does he contribute to growth of national economy. Shame. So that the lady who gave birth in braod day light at UTH would have bin better dying and be accorded a ride in a Chinese harmer. That is the thinking of BIG man RB and team. Bane twachula mayo pa ZED
Associated Press,BBC,CNN all have images and video of a monkey urinating on RB,thats a sign!right there you should look at the images on AP website…………
When ever doctors or nurses go on strike, the press suddenly get interested in mortality and morbidity statistics. There is no evidence ever published that proves that more people die when doctors and nurses are on strike. What is evident is that the death rates remain constant or even drop.
Michael Jackson has died.
Yeah Sad for Michael Jackson, I don’t know if anyone remembers the late Patrick Chisembele, he used to do very good Michael Jackson impersonations at secondary school concerts in the late 80s in lusaka. Patrick even had that ka famous red jacket from the Thriller music video. RIP MJ and Patrick.
As for RB, of all things, our president decides to say, ” I will give that to Sata” when the ka monkey pissed on him. Check out the video on bbc.
People, Zed students in Cuba haven`t been paid for two months now. They are starving as their BCs are hold in the embassy in Canada. Please help in what you can.
Mukadeke is beautiful can we see a full photo. we want to become shareholders.
Ba presido Banda , libange.
Shame on us!! I concur with #330, any one aspiring for Presidency has not excuse to give cause when vying the sit he should have had an understanding of the HE’s office demands. To say I came into office at a difficult tiem is an understatement and void of interllectual capacity to lead as Head of State. Obama, came into office during the US economic meltdown and came up with a stimulus plan. Chiluba came into office during draughts and built us roads and sold us houses, that is why we are all busy building/arguing over land. Eye openner. Why do the Coperate world keeps changes CEOs/MDs, better leadership quality is sought for equity growth and retain. Now tell me why we should be mad at bad HE leadership with no vision and aspiration to revive hope future for our country’s prosperity?

RB is lucky that monkey had water for breakfast
What do we expect from such a GOVT which has people like Tetamashimba whose IQ is less than that of a monkey
Classic. The monkey was so disgusted with what RB had to say….so he pissed on him. Classic!!
wasted time
My take is that people are just benede on insubordination and lack of respect for leaders. Because their fathers told them being disrespectfull to others is the way to get to the top, they thinking it will do they good if they went ahead. The points articulated in the press confernce were very good and commendable. If we will abl;e to save money through the ventures outl;ined, then we propsper as a nation, all because somenoe inthe name of the president said so and planned for that. The president is just doing fine, watch your hatred. Kalijo will take you anywhere. Why must you insult leaders? And speaking of the monkey thing, nothing happened for you crooks to be beating the drum loud. He said it himself, nobody saw happen. Rrumour mongers are busy telling others as if they saw it. TRUTH!
