Kitwe United Supporters Club mourns fans

The Kitwe United Supporters Committee has expressed sorrow over the death of three club fans who perished in a road accident on Saturday.

Three United fans died on their way to Chingola for a FAZ Division 1 Zone 2 match against Chingola Police.

Eight other supporters are nursing injuries after the accident which occurred around 14h00 on Chingola Road just after Chambishi when a Noah Minibus registration number ACZ 4493 overturned due to a suspected tyre burst.

“It is very sad. We started off as a group but unfortunately our friends died on the way,” Supporters Chairman Webby Silungwe mourned.

“It feels bad and I have no words I am crying as chairman of supporters,” Silungwe said.

The deceased were identified as Boniface Lungo, 26, Able Mwamba, 33, and Arthur Sakala, 45, all of Kitwe’s Kamitondo Township.

“We need to unite and mourn our friends in a good way,” Silungwe added.

The match between Kitwe and Chingola Police finished 1-1 at Nchanga Stadium.

    • Very sad indeed. MTSRIP
NOW, back to my issue; when are we erecting a 10M high Kenneth Kaunda Statue? Is it part of the KK International Airport project?

  1. Rest in peace friends u v died for our lovely Chingalika the Buchi boys club. It’s so painful…..!!!!!

  2. It is sad to lose people that are energetic and full of potential through an RTA. What has gone wrong in Zambian driving? May their souls rest in eternal peace

  3. why DID the MATCH GO AHEAD despite the LOSS of LIFE ? Its not in our christian VALUES TO celebrate by watching soccer when the Deceased WERE GOING FOR THE same entertainment. MTSRIP I am appealing to all who attended the match to be part of the ceremony to send our supporters to eternal life
