The disbursement is meant to cushion the national broadcaster, from the financial challenges it is currently experiencing.
Ministry of Information Acting Permanent Secretary, Beaton Kaluba has confirmed in a statement availed to ZNBC news in Lusaka today.
Mr. Kaluba has further said the government funding will help the Corporation during the transition period, while the new TV Levy measures are being finalised.
After the amendment of the ZNBC Act, the TV Levy will be collected by the Independent Broadcasting Authority -IBA.

ZNBC has the highest rates for adverts, where does the money go? It’s unfair for private stations to compete for the same clients with ZNBC which also receives grants from Govt. So they’ve been relying on TV levy to pay salaries? Shame
ZNBC should be able to raise substantial revenue from adverts. PF should not be allowed to air their adverts for free

DeadNBC an endless pit which swallows money with no results should simply be shut down because they are not fit for purpose. DeadNBC was a channel in the 80s, it ceased to be a national braodcaster wiith the departure of Dr Mannaseh Phiri who was sacked by Kafupi.
ZNBC must generate revenue for government. The present set up is counterproductive. It is a drain on scarce public resources. There is need to for a consultant to devise a bankable funding structure. Airing useless programs is not the answer. More creativity is needed. Space for private partnerships must be created. Government may own but leasing to producers may be more profitable.

My question is this: Where do you take the money people pay for TVs: Zambia has more than 5,000,000 Million TVs @ K3.00 = K15,000,000.00 plus other advertisements. God will judge you one days and you will regret for not paying employees the dues in time: The Bible says never let the wages of your employee be kept at you house when it is due for payment. Even your Rev Sumaili can tell you that it is written in the bible.
