North-Western Province Deputy Permanent Secretary, Nkololo Hazemba and three others are nursing injuries in Solwezi General Hospital, after the vehicle they were travelling in, overturned on the Solwezi-Mwinilunga road.

The accident happened after the driver of the vehicle registration number GRZ 299 CA lost control due to a rear left tyre whose outer cover peeled off, causing the vehicle to overturn several times and leaving it extensively damaged.

Mr. Katiba said the Deputy Permanent Secretary sustained bruises on the head, left knee and leg, while his driver Misheck Chilumba sustained multiple deep cuts on the head, bruises on the left arm and complained of body pains.

He added that on the same vehicle was Acting North-Western Province Assistant Secretary, Kambinga Nondo who sustained deep cuts on the head and bruises on the right arm, while the Provincial Social Welfare Officer, Chris Hilweele had a fractured left collar bone.

Mr. Katiba said the four were on their way to attend the burial of Western Province Deputy Permanent Secretary Seth Mulaya’s wife.

  1. Bad roads plus overspeeding equals accidents. Its good all the pipom in the 2 accidents are alive. Be careful on the roads in NWP, you may follow Teta

  2. Too bad, meaning the PS’s vehicle had defective 0r old tyres. Given the high tempereture at this time of the year, the tyre just peeled off like an over ripe banana skin. Thanks God no lives were lost in the 1st accident involving PS and his group.

As for the foreign nationals its very important that when travelling on a rural road, its better to be accompanied by some one who is familiar with such roads. There are so many hazards for one to get used to. I hope the 2 are not breif case investors who are treking to North-Western Province.

  3. Hope this is not an act of witchcraft from competing aspiring canditates for the vacant parliamentary seat.

  4. #5, Listen,

What witchcraft? If witchcraft could work like this, Zambia would have won the World Cup!!!!!!! Elections and witchcraft?, no , don’t agree!

  5. :(( I feel it has been preached many times that Buses should not Move at Late Hours such as 02.00 hrs and iam sure there are Chjeck points from some places where people are made to die like chjickens . This is not Good Does it mean that our Zambaian traffic Laws do not function after 18.00 hrs ? Authorities Please should do something about it. Why should we have a situiation where a bus bound for Chipata or Lundazi should staff off at 02.00 hrs or 03.00 hrs ? People must be serious with there responsibilities.

  6. Hi, concerned and partriotic fellow country men. It’s a pity that the road mishap left us permanent disabled. My wife is on a wheel chair and am also with a broken shoulder.
We thank God that we are alive.
