Catholic media mourn Ben Kangwa

Charge d’ Affairs at the Zambia Embassy in the United States, Ben Kangwa

Catholic Media Services (CMS) and the entire Catholic Communications and Media fraternity are deeply saddened at the passing on of Mr. Ben Kangwa.

His death is a great loss to the Church especially that Mr. Kangwa continued to be instrumental in the Communication ministry of the Catholic Church in Zambia.

Even in his death, we still celebrate his contribution towards the growth of the media in our local Church. He was key in the initial days of Radio Maria Yatsani Voice by training our volunteer media workers who have continued to make strides in many media houses across the country.

When he was recalled from his diplomatic posting, Mr. Kangwa continued to help the communication ministry of the Church by publishing latest Church information to fellow Parishioners in a Parish newsletter.

As the Catholic Church in Zambia, we also acknowledge his contribution as Board member of the yet to hit the air, the national Catholic television, LUMEN TV Zambia.

On behalf of the Catholic Bishops in Zambia, Catholic Media Services and entire Catholic Communications ministry, I send heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Kangwa, Children and all the family members.

Issued by
Fr. Winfield Kunda

Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops
Communications Director

  1. Hazaluza Hagain Tribal H-organisation hasn’t released a statement yet! It is not about LUNGU! It is about TRIBALISM. “ONLY A TONGA CAN BE A PRESIDENT,” Larry Mweetwa. Oh, sorry of UPND, the Party of INCOMPOS.

  2. Sharon.
How far have you gone in school?
We may just be expecting too much from you.
I guess you have some grade 9 full certificate.

  3. RIP Big Ben even if you were short in stature you were a big hearted individual that was never big headed as was and is the case with your fellow TV presenters past and present. Your interviewing style was the most intelligent style ever seen on Znbc- you would ask a politician 3 questions in such a way that the politician’s answer from the third question would actually be the answer from the first question. You will be forever missed. RIP ba Ben Heaven has received a kind and good hearted soul. Condolences to the family and close friends.

  4. Rest in peace ba Ben Kangwa..you were a true legend in the world of journalism the country had ever produced. I ‘ll always remember that interview you had with the late Sata when you asked him what academic qualifications he had and he gave an interesting response…..mysrip.
