Agriculture Minister, Reuben Mtolo has said that the government has never paid ALPHA Commodities $50 million to procure fertilizer.
Mr. Mtolo said that it is unfortunate that lies have continued to be peddled, adding that the standing orders indicate that whatever is brought to the floor of the National Assembly is factual and empirical.
Mr. Mtolo was responding to Kabushi Member of Parliament Bowman Lusambo who wanted to know whether it is true that the Government paid ALPHA Commodities instead of giving the resources to the Food Reserve Agency to pay farmers.
Of late ALPHA Commodities has been in the spotlight on social media with reports alleging that a fertilizer tender was awarded to Alpha Commodities whose major shareholder is Minister of information Chushi Kasanda’s husband Morris Jangulo and that she did not declare any conflict of interest.
Further allegations are that an advance payment of $50m has been paid?
All these allegations have been dismissed by both Government and UPND party officials.
There’s no smoke without fire. No wonder someone is talking about amnesty.

Use your information machinery to shed light on anything that could dispel these swirling rumors. Nizanu izo.
Lusambo is still in Parliament? We thought he is out. Regarding ALPHA. The only thing we can do is subpoena Jangulo to Parliament and ask him, because there are a lot of PF big fish that are involved. Why keep quiet when the same f.ools questioning the deal where in Power?
You see how PF are coming out with allegations in Parliament…meanwhile the President is sitting on the Gassing debacle report, Vespers report, HoneyBee theft, 42X42 Firetenders, MOH Ambulances …by the time you release any of that the people will be focused on your wrongdoings and thieves like Bowman will look like saviours,
The Prince – Bowman Lusambo and Malanji had appealed the High Court’s decision to nullify their election…so get used to seeing for the next 2 years as Concourt takes forever to pass judgement by that time evidence will even go missing like what happened in Luo’s Munali appeal.
#4 Prince. That’s not the way it works. When someone appeals the outcome of the case, he continues to be MP pending the final outcome and the seat will officially be declared vacant. PF members(Dr Machingwa and others) were expelled from the party for disobedience but ended up finishing their because the appeal court took too long to attend to the case.
Please HH ! Open you eyes and cage these PF surrogates in the likes of Bowman Lusambo, Andrew Ntewewe, Stephen Kampyongo, Chishmba Kambwili , Geoffrey Mwamba and many others. Your adamance might lead a lot of damage to your presidency and the party at large. You are now in power and treat yourself as such, if those that are accusing you and government of wrong doings prove to the zambians that it’s not them that are soiled with cases by bringing them to book on account of each case.

That is the fundamental problem with HEHH , he is a principled man who believes in the good of others while they are poltting his downfall……….
It will be up to the Zambian people to decide………..
Atleast the new GRZ is open and transparent for Zambians to decide , but state House media needs to up their game to dispell rumours as soon as they are created…….
If they ever make the PF and lungu mistake of not responding to trending articles , it will be good bye…….that I guarantee.
It’s not about HH caging anyone. He must allow the due process of the the law take its course.
