During the visit, President Kagame and President Hichilema are scheduled to hold bilateral talks which will focus on matters of mutual interest at bilateral, regional and international levels.

The state visit by President Kagame will provide an opportunity to share best practices in areas that will help unlock new opportunities for Zambia and her citizens.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Stanley Kakubo has reiterated that Zambia and Rwanda share long standing bilateral relations, which are anchored on shared values and mutual respect.

In a statement to ZANIS, Mr. Kakubo said the two countries have continued to strengthen bilateral ties through the exchange of high level visits as well as the establishment of the Joint Permanent Commission (JPC) which is aimed at reviewing and strengthening cooperation in areas that include foreign relations, trade and industry, tourism, agriculture, sport, science and technology, information and communication technology, research and development, and gender among others.

He added that Zambia and Rwanda collaborate at regional, continental and international levels through the joint membership at the United Nations, the Commonwealth, the African Union, the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR).

Mr. Kakubo said President Hichilema has emphasised the need to leverage the opportunities for intra-African trade, investment and tourism to ensure the resilience of economies and industries.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation further said President Hichilema’s government is keen to emulate Rwanda’s success in the field of information and communication technology (ICT) as it pursues universal and affordable internet coverage for Zambians.

President Kagame is expected to return to Rwanda tomorrow, 5th April, 2022 immediately after concluding his engagements.

  5. This right here, is historical. Its one for the memories and the meseums. These two define the new way if not the real way or definition of African Politics. The whole Africa am sure is now scared, this is bad assss combination,Super rich and Super power.Kagame is powerful politically and HIchilema is powerful by Wealth & Education. Two respected men across the globe. Both very intelligent men,now we will have two presidents that will speak sense at AU meetings. This is a power combination – Dictators will now think twice when talking to Hichilema,Despite his country being tiny,Kagame has an ellite army in Africa if not the best, look at they clobbered those rebels in Mozambique. Train the Zambian army professionalism aswell pls. Its not easy to maintain peace in East Africa esp if you are…

  6. we need to learn from the rwandanese people the way they play politics and the way they respect their president as compared to zambian politics which full of hatred especially the opposition they need to respect the president and also contribute to national issues in a good way, look at kigame the respect him,why can’t we do it in our country zambia.

  7. Do Rwanan’s respect or fear Kagame? And ih he going to teach HH on how to deal with opposition or HH will advise Kagame? Because what happened to HH in Mongu and the three mon the he spent in jail as bad as that treatment was bad he should ask Kagame what it would’ve been if Kagame was in charge. He would be history. So all you commenting like all is beautiful do a Biot of research. I’ve been to Kigali and saying its clean city is an understatement because the place is clean and beautiful and there’s order. Its a proper police state. One thing with good dictators is people do what they’re ordered to do mostly in fear the problem is once he’s gone no one follows even the good they ordered. So from the two its a bit of both sides but I love my freedoms under my president HH

  8. Tax payers money used on logistics but no business case for the visit. What will it benefit Zambians?

  9. Even if you don’t like The official residence and workplace of the president of Zambia located in Lusaka, and has been the residence of every President since independence.

A residence of the president of the GRZ, the executive department of the GRZ not UPND.

GRZ Next time we need a poor president Who will not be scared of living in the State house and doing business in Lusaka.

GRZ do you know the obligation of collecting taxes? That means people first.

  10. It’s the same developmental stratergies that Rwanda has pursued in it’s 2020 bison now updated It’s roads and Investments promotions have realised Investments in it’s flagship economic zones like Kigali innovation center acquisition and Investments by Qatar airways in it’s airports like us here for $1.31B have created further linkages it’s hosted more than 2 million visitors in recent past the political stability and consistence in policy amongst other FDI in 2017 and 2018 was about $400m and $420m respectively Investments promotions accruesd $2.4B in 2019 There participation and support towards total Investments in mozabique has contributed to it’s revenues but the promotions drive and consultants in South African firms have paid divideds It’s pretty the same Zambian stratergies

  11. Yaa but Zambia can be much better than Rwanda if the potential economic sites and zones are promoted and ultilisation as in Rwanda you know Investments follow demographics

  12. Hope these two can exchange brains. Kagame is a visionary and backs his words with action. Benangu niba BMW

  13. Rwanda has lower HDI and Per capita income than Zambia. Zambia is more developed than Rwanda. The only difference is that Rwandans are cleaner and more organized than Zambians. Kigali is a a clean and well organized city with shiny new buildings. It is not littered liked the Lusaka CBD that is infested with vendors and black marketeers. Lusaka is an eyesore. And this is not going to change any time soon because many Zambians give excuses for this ghetto behavior.
