THE FAZ faction has extended an olive branch to the Kalusha Bwalya led executive committee for a meeting to iron out some contentious issues ahead of the crucial annual general meeting (AGM) next month.
Faction leader, Andrew Kamanga said in Lusaka yesterday that there was need for the FAZ executive to meet with his team so that matters relating to the resumption of the local football league were addressed.
Kamanga said his group wanted to see the 2011 league action start soon after the postponement of the AGM at the weekend.
But when contacted, Kalusha, who at the weekend said the league would start on April 2, refused to comment on the matter.
And in a statement yesterday, faction acting general secretary, Simataa Simataa said: “In the interest of soccer, we offer to meet urgently with our colleagues to iron out all issues surrounding the resumption of the 2011 league which is currently linked to the holding of the AGM.”
On whether his team was agreeable to the April 30 date for the council meeting in Kabwe, Kamanga said there was need for the two groups to sit and agree on the most suitable date.
On Saturday when he addressed some councillors and observers at Mubende Country Club in Luanshya, Kalusha said the Premier League would resume this weekend with Super and Division One matches.
He called on all stakeholders to put differences behind and focus on the game and avoid disappointing sponsors like Supersport International, who were ready to begin televising of live matches and mobile phone providers, MTN Zambia, who recently signed a sponsorship deal for the league.
Kalusha also said the FAZ AGM was deferred to April 30 but the faction stated that the meeting should be held by March 31 in line with the association’s statutes which stipulate that the AGM is staged every first quarter of the year.
The FAZ AGM was postponed after the two groups failed to agree on the venue.
[Times of Zambia]
Ala.. i thot Kamanga was given a life line by Kalu postponing the AGM to 30 April? ”On whether his team was agreeable to the April 30 date for the council meeting in Kabwe, Kamanga said there was need for the two groups to sit and agree on the most suitable date.” what does this chap want really? He’s the one who rushed in setting up their so called AGM which was far less than the expected quorum and he still wants to negotiate a date? what a joke!!!
Wamona Kamanga, you chaps thought you were clever.
KAMANGA IS CONTRIBUTING TO OUR PROBLEMS IN SOCIETY. HOW DOES HE EXTEND AN OLIVE BRANCH YET ALL HE HAS DONE TO THIS DAY HAS BEEN MISCHIEVOUS AND QUESTIONABLE. HE SHOULD STEP DOWN, DISSOLVE HIS FACTION AND THEN CALL FOR DIALOGUE, HE IS TRYING TO BRING CHAOS AND IS IN NO POSITION TO CALL FOR DIALOGUE
Now that they are on the weak side, the Kamanga group start asking for dialogue.
You wanted AGM ,but why are you afraid to prove your popularity? What is interesting is that both parties have agreed on the legible list of Club affiliates and FiFa will not allow unpopular faction to bring in cheap excuses. The Kamanga group well understand that Kalusha has more support than them . Iam predicting that the Kamanga group will deliberately miss the Kabwe AGM just to cause some confusion after learning that NSCZ have no powers to chair the AGM.This will not give a chance for corrupt MMD govt to doctor the list and manipulate the results .
Are all these guys broke and they want to come and loot our faz treasury or what is it that they want,COME ON SIMATA AND YOUR GUYS SWALLOW YOUR PRIDE AND THINK TWICE U ARE EMBARRASSING ZED.
Why is it that Kalu always runs to outsiders to defend his position? Football in Zambia is about Zambian’s and not FIFA, Supersport or MTN. Do not forget that he is on Supersport’s payroll and he has to be seen to be delivering. The fact is that there are issues that need ironed out or else these wrangles will go on an on.
Kamanga and Simata are bringing confusion in football. They *****shave allowed politicians to use them to bring politics in football. What a shame. Kamanga and Simata pliz wait for God“s times
dialogue for what? everthing is clear, the date for next AGM, league on 2rd april. what else do you what? you are telling the public that you have nothing to offer to the zambian people even if you where given that sit today, you still be talking and attacking kalu!!!!! . keep quite for a while and wait for april 30th.
Its funny now that Kamanga wants dialogue! Firstly does he realise that his grouping is not recognised by anyone? There is only one FAZ executive at a time. Dont take Zambians for granted and be reminded that you are not known in Football circles! If you sponsor one club, wait untill people notice your contribution to the game and maybe they will appreciate you. As for shitmaaster like I have always said he has no direction and only fools align themselves to him. Politicians pliz Football is not for you concetrate on solving numerous backlogs pending or you will be booted out…..!!!
Too late for dialogue .The league has been delayed already by these spoiled brats.Go forward Kalu.
The Kamanga faction would have dialogued a long time ago but your preoccupation was just to oust Kalusha led administration, which should have not been the case. How do expect a normal husband to let go of his wife to a another without a fight? The problem with the both factions is that they are not willing to dialogue for the sake of soccer in the country, but solely for positions and what those positions promise to offer in return. Frankly speaking both camps are megalomaniac!!!!!!!!
Kalu is solid. he prooved it last week. Great Kalu Go Z Go Z !!!!!
Kamanga apusa zoona!! This guy is so cheap!! I thought he had substance.Be reminde that the FIFA head of Member Associations even praised Great Kalu for the wise decision he took to postpone the AGM to 30th April cos the delegates in attendance made a quorum.
I don’t think the Kamanga faction can “extend an olive branch” to a the incumbent Kalu executive, though the idea to dialogue iz good. However, FAZ and Kalu should swallow their pride, for the good of the game, by taking the faction’z REQUEST(done in good faith) to dialogue seriously.
Taking a bossy and bullish stand on the issue of the rezumption of league will not make anybody a winner in any way. Eyez on the ball.
Yaba! another Kalu freekick up the Shimata Shimata, honestly iam beginning to enjoy this self destruct lunacy in the Kamanga group.come April 30 they will kiss dust!
Whether this Kamanga likes it or not the league is starting this weekend. Our players’ income has greatly been affected. The boys are greatly impoverished and some have been reduced to beggars, depending on handouts.Kamanga be man enough and imagine if you were a player totally dependant on winning bonuses then some chaps disrupt the league which has a direct connection to your earnings how would you feel or survive?
lets wait and see, every dog has its day.
What I am seeing is that people think the Cote d’Ivoire or Zimbabwe political models are a success and so they are taking them into other spheres of life. I don’t understand. Very soon you will see mistresses competing to participate in marriages because they have been s***wed long enough…
Times of Zambia, stop calling this a FAZ faction. There is only one FAZ at the moment.
And this gentleman Mr Kamanga, with all due respect, he should learn to have patience. This confirms their hunger for power. This is an extraordinary situation, how can he expect another AGM to be organised so soon, two days from today actually? What about the FIFA representatives, does he think that they have nothing better to do, and will fly back to Zambia to attend silly meetings at the whims of Mr Kamanga and his Mr Simaata?
I say the AGM and elections should be held next year, tepatali sana. In the meantime let’s concentrate on soccer, and not our hunger for power and the trappings of FAZ office.
i thot only 95 clubs voted for them. if they were popular they could have even to mubende but it seems they realised that numbers are not on their side. mwanya you thot nscz is bigger than fifa. you wait for 30th april than always making noise like empty drums. you went thru the list but your frend did his home work. where r the clubs you were meeting. shame on you, kekekekekekekekekekekekekekekekek
What was wrong meeting at Mulungushi International conference. I smell a rat!
Use-less Kamuchanga and camp. Dialogue on what? Just get out of the way, you selfish chaps.
According to my comprehension Kamanga et al want to make sure the league resumption is not a Kalu ruse to woodwink them to surrender their strong position otherwise the league wont go ahead unless they meet to discuss very pertinet issues surrounding it. Its such a smart move else Kalu and his FAZ wotn have league games going this term.
This Kamanga chap and his Simataa are both clowns. they decided to follow the blind NSCZ to a corner meeting at mulungushi and shunned the FAZ/FIFA AGM in Kitwe which would have presented the perfect opportunity for them to air their views and now want to start calling shots.
Points to remember
1- there is no need to dialogue because there is only one FAZ and they decide the date. the foolish faction jeopardized the meeting which was well within the constitution
2 – How foolish can Kamanga and Simataa be to expect people coming from all corners of the country to re convene within 5 days with the economic challenges our country has?
Kamanga na Simata you are senseless people and even if Kalu leaves FAZ you are not coming IN you chaps.
Why talk when a plan has already been tabled to resolve this issue at the AGM soon. These anarchists do not seem to get the message. Soccer is not politics. I would advise these two troublemakers to stand in the coming parliamentary elections. Perhaps there drama would be useful there. Soccer is a well organized sport internationally and it is no place for banana republic politics. No wonder we cannot even host international tournaments with people like that around.
There are now various stakeholders to the zambian game we have contractual obligations with orgs like Supersport and many others and because of a few people’s foolishness a lot of money has already been wates organising an AGM, a corner meeting in Lsk and now another AGM in Kabwe. we can not keep delaying the league because that hinges on the players pockets as well. it means no pay no food for the players who’se live depend entirely on football. We gave you chaps a benefit of doubt but now you have proven how useless yuo are and how petty your intentions are.
Simataa and Kamanga if you chaps have nothing to do get farms and help reduce poverty instead of bringing confusion
kalu is a selfish guy. his love for money will bring him to his knees. go kamanga go!!
#7 Shaka – Ulekwata amano mwaiche wandi. FIFA governs soccer, MTN, ZB, Suppersport etc are doing great things for Zambian football kamanga and Simataa on the other hand want to undo all the good that Kalu has done, they want all our spornsor to lose confidence in soccer so that they can point a finger to Kalu as the cause. They are an illegal faction like a rebel group and it is shameful for NSCZ to be entertaining them. These two are just minions who dont even know what they want themselves. their mandate is to criticise.
What Olive branch? Ichimuti chamu ruben is what u call an olive branch?. Dont mis use words here bwana Kamanga. Who offers who an olive branch? Arent u the weaker party? Aren`t u the rebels?Arent u the opportunists? Just get lost!!
Shaka @#7 indeed you are primitive like your fore-father, you say: “Why is it that Kalu always runs to outsiders to defend his position? Football in Zambia is about Zambian’s and not FIFA” You think any country, including Brazil can isolate themselves from other nations where soccer is concerned?? You want us to be confined to watching icimpombwa kulukungu….its not the issue of running to FIFA, its the issue of FIFA running football and safe guarding the sport from selfish elements like Simataa and manipulative ministers like Chipungu.
Kamanga is been used by RUPIAH BANDA so Rupiah’s SON can be FAZ President. This will not work my friends. They say, walya ilyauma.
No.7 you are living in stone age. Wake up!
It is sad when people overlook their own statutes and they want to continue without rectfying such just because at the moment cash seem to be flowing into some organisation and the core business seem to be moving in this case some clubs are ready to play etc. This blind eye on constitutionalism if not checked will lead to more problems in the future and i believe such problems in most cases they become catastrophic. Let us learn to respect the laws that we put in place ourselves. Let us not create dictators and then we come and complain later. The honourable thing that Kalu should have done after his four excutive committee members including his veep resigned was to disolve FAz and call for fresh elections. Als what did we see? Arrogance and disregarding the laws of the land enacted in…
kamanga kamanga kamanga we told you dont follow simataaa he is a finished chap. You chaps cant take on Kalu head on. the guy has backing of CAF, FIFA, just those two institutions are too powerful for our govt. Kalu is the man, remember that free kick against Zimbabwe and Grobleear went to pick the ball in the net with tears in his eyes, ( even colgate used it pa advert) then Kalu blows his cheeks, this what has happened to you
THE GOVERNMENT, THROUGH NATIONAL SPORTS COUNCIL, HERALDED BY THE PRESS, ARE ENCOURAGING A CLEAR REBELLION. KAMANGA SHOUL SEKK AUDIENCE WITH FAZ GENERAL SECRETARY IN HIS CAPACITY AS KABWE WARRIORS CHAIRMAN. HE IS NOT PRESIDENT OF FAZ UNTIL AND UNLESS ELECTED AT NEXT YEARS COUNCIL ELECTION RECOGNISED BY FIFA. FOR YOUR INFO WHEN SARKOZY TRIED TO CHASTISE THE FRENCH TEAM, POST WORLD CUP, FIFA THREATENED TO BAN FRANCE. WHATMORE ZAMBIA.
#33 please explain to me why you say Kalu should resign? Secondly explain to me which part of the FAZ constitution Kalu and Co. abrogated. All you keep Keep doing is “copy and paste” whatever simata and kamanga say. these guys haven’t proven any wrongdoing on kalu’s part, that is why they’ve resorted to guerilla tactics to unseat a lawfully elected executive. We do not need such individuals to run the affairs of FAZ.
It is now clear Kalu is standing on a solid ground. Shame to shitmaster and Kamanga. People have now understood that these two cronies are serpents being used by the government……They demanded that FAZ postpones the League game start and FAZ complied and again they want to bring their stupidity to delay the league start date. No ways we cannot stand it any more.To hell with them now players are starving…….this cannot be allowed to continue
The league is not attached to the AGM Ba simata naimwe. The league has always started earlier than the AGM for a number of years so that the season ends before the rainy season. This started well before Kalu took over at FAZ. Why is it an issue now! You misled a number of teams last season and these teams ended up losing out variable points due to your selfish interests. Teams such as ZANACO had a chance of playing continetal football but alas. You want the same thing again! Tell us if the league starts now and in the very unlike event that you oust Kalu, cant you continue with the league. lets be serious for once
If we are going to twist and bend constitutions and I mean every constitution to suit individuals! Then God bless Zambia. We make rules so that we obey and follow them.Dicttators are made because of blind followers, those who canno question wrong things.Goodluck Zambia
The issue of the constitutional breaches were well articulated by supreme body FIFA who ruled that co-opting of members was perfectly legal. So the issue of legality ended there and then. #38 tell us what breaches are you still talking about!
Go dialogue with RB maybe he know what your olive branch means you rebels.
#31 This is a typical example of a person who is not proud of their own country let alone their football. Nations that are proud of their football like Brazil , Argentina , France , Germany etc would not let a foreigner coach their national team. Why? Because they are confident in their own people that are managing the game. If you cannot resolve an issue such as a venue then what does it say about you. You are better off supporting teams that are better managed, market their own brand of football and wear their national colours with pride.
Eyez on the ball, go kalu, let these guyz wait for 2012, we enjoyed the briefing in mufulira and I cant wait to attend this coming one
Kalu is Kalu is Kalu. Simaata waba amatobo kwati naufubata ichisushi.
i don’t even know why NSCZ entertains so called factions. Kamanga and Simataa are doig this for personal reasons
# 45 hahahahahahahaha\:d/ you are full of jokes
Just come from underground. Can someone post the Libya vs Comoros Is. results please!
Libya 3 Comoros 0
Libya 7 points
Zambia 6 points
Mozambique 3points
Comoros 0
Kalu is Kalu. Go Kalu Go. NSCZ let off your filth hands on FAZ. Honestly, cant you pipo be ashamed. The writing is on the wall. Viva Kalu
It is amazing the amount of stupidity being shown by the partisan bloggers. Each side HERO worshiping selfish individuals and clearly losing track of the issue(s) at hand. Kalu has achieved one of his goals (A CAF POSITION) using FAZ and Zambia to his advantage now ask yourselves how has that benefited Zambian football? We are in this mess because we do not have STRUCTURES which should be able to run even if SELFISH individuals try to disrupt the organization (FAZ). My brother is a career footballer and this nonsense of no league games just means that he is unable to provide for his family because Zambian players are paid per game and there dont have million dollar contracts. So before all you diaspora based bloggers continue blindly commenting and supporting stupidity, look at this from t
* the perspective of the people who are directly affected by the selfish and obviously poor decision making of the these UNQUALIFIED ‘leaders’
No 43 Shaka, for your information soccer is now a global game, the Cooperate community is also global, so its good for soccer in our country to have exposed personalities like Kalu to lead us to where there is money to run the sport. While its true that our local coaches can do the job, yes and profitably so, its also important to realise that it does not matter where a coach comes from in this modern day of technology, it be at club or national team level; Fabio Kapello, an Italian coaches England, while the Frenchman, Wenger, and the special one at Real Madrid are both coaches at successful clubs away from home. Take note of that Mr. Shaka…..Sir…we have to change our attitudes if soccer has to improve!!!
#53 mba mba mba, The point I am trying to put across is that we need to focus on developing both the game and the people that run it. Foreigners do not have the same level of commitment and when they leave they do so with their skills. The problem with the game in Zambia is much deeper than the administration, hence, making an appearance at the African Cup of Nations will always be viewed as a big achievement. My daughter plays football at a local school here in England and she has everything from boots to other kit and access professional coaches. FA’s in developed countries are run as businesses with CEOs ( Chief Executive Officer ) and COOs ( Chief Operating Officer ) in charge of strategy and operation.
#43 mba mba mba, Another piece of advice is that we should stop over glorifying individuals. The game of football is bigger than one individual and it is a team effort.
