TIZ demands ACC public statement over Kabimba,GBM probe

Transparency International Zambia-TIZ- has expressed concern with the decision by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to withhold details of their concluded investigations into allegations of corruption leveled against two Cabinet Ministers.

TIZ president Lee Habasonda has observed that it is surprising that the ACC could remain silent on the matter when it has indicated in a letter of reply to the organisation implying that the Justice Minister Wynter Kabimba and his Defence counterpart Geoffrey Mwamba were cleared of allegations of corruption.

Mr. Habasonda has however disclosed to Qfm in an interview that his organization has been studying the letter of reply by the ACC that was sent to the TIZ on 5th March.

He said the TIZ will within two weeks from now convene a board meeting to discuss the letter and thereafter reply back to the ACC to confirm whether it is satisfied with the ACC’s explanation on the matter or not.

The TIZ had recently written to the ACC demanding an explanation o the circumstances that led to the clearing of the two cabinet Ministers.

Meanwhile when contacted for a comment by QFM News acting ACC Spokesperson Queen Chibwe maintained that the ACC will soon make its position known on the matter.

  1. These corrupt criminals are protected by their equally corrupt Director General of RDA ,Ukwa himself, to make matters worse GBM is Bemba a sponsor of the so called Kola foundation.TIZ you need to push harder you are dealing with sponsored criminals!

  2. This is very serious, but if it was concerning opposition party members they w’d ve been persecuted.Ther is no justice in this world.

  3. Zambia is proving to be a land for the selected few.As long as you can shout pabwato,Don’t kubeba, pamaka you will not be visited by the law.Shame!

  4. SATA is well known of being a violent man plus a thug who has being on list of crocks what do u expect from him. more worse things are coming wait?

  5. SO DO YOU WANT ACC TO TELL YOU EXACTLY THE DATAILS OF THE CRIME AND HOW THEY DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE. DO YOU WANT THEM TO BE REPORTING TO YOU ABOUT ALL THE DETAILS OF WHAT THEY ARE DOING ABOUT EVERY SUSPECT?

  6. We need accountability from WYNTER KAMIMBWA, and please let’s demand this as Zambians. Enough of mediocrity, now. We voted for change and that’s basically what we need.

Can we have clearance done by ACC and now please? We are sick and tired of lack of accountability by some of these corrupt Ministers.

  7. Good morning Lee Habasonda! Finally you are awake. I only hope you are not talking because the Cobra is out of the state. Anyway congrats.

  8. Imwe bantu, what do you expect from this saga, you won’t know anything as long as they are in power. Don’t forget a Nyanja saying, KHOSWE AKAKHALA PA MKATE( China ware) SAPHEKA? Meaning if you found a mouse on your favourite china plate, you will just chase the mouse nicely, or else you would break your china ware if you use force.
