The good old days..the then Foreign Affairs Minister Given Lubinda celebrates the award with President Sata and First Lady Dr Kaseba

Kabwata Member of Parliament Given Lubinda has refused to be drawn into debate about him following the expiry of his suspension from the Patriotic Front on treachery charges.

Mr. Lubinda said he will remain firm and continue to work hard in areas where he will yield the best than responding to old debates that will not take him anywhere.

He explained that he is still a strong member of the Patriotic Front and will always be loyal to the party. He said he will never engage in any differenceswith anybody.

Mr. Lubinda stressed that he is not moved by comments home affairs Minister Edgar Lungu that there is no vacancy for him in government at present.

Mr. Lubinda pointed out that he will let those who enjoy discussing about him continue as he listens, adding that he will be unavailable to respond to issues that he had no time for.

Last week home affairs Minister Edgar Lungu was quoted as saying there was no vacancy in government that Mr.Lubinda can occupy.

    • …mr. Lungu thinks government is a private firm that needs vacancy before someone else can be employed. All these folks should be aware that their job is to serve the nation.

    • Sata is about to make a major Cabinet reshuffle which will see the likes of drunk Edgar Lungu swept away and Lubinda is to be brought back.Look forward to the reshuffle.

  1. Edger Lungu was commenting under influence of alcohol, just same as Lubinda used to tell opposition MPs about PF stories nga akolwa. Whoever trust in Lungu is hopeless, and whoever believes Kabimba is mbulwamano.

    • Why do we Zambians find it such a big deal when we don’t use the correct phrases or words in English? Why do we have this thing that if you are Zambian then we should speak English like the british? Do you guys know that we are not British? We are Zambians and we only speak English because that’s what is taught in schools. There is nothing wrong with a small error like that as long as we get the message. Apa ngani mu European making mistakes we don’t say anything, tili che ndwiiiiii, kanofye mu Zambian! maybe we should just have papers in our local languages so that we can stop laughing at each others mistakes since we always find it ok with people claiming they cant speak a local language, so their mistakes will be accepted.

    • Let’s not focus on trivial issues. Even the owners of the English language make similar mistakes in grammar. I’ve heard it from newscasters and politicians in both the U.K. and U.S.A. A lot of our own people are also not very conversant with the grammar in their indigenous languages. For example, ku bvula (undress) and ku tsegula (open) are used interchangeably in speech yet they do not exactly mean the same thing. So it us focus on the body of the story and not the grammar.

    • The fact of the matter is we use English, as colonial as it might be, as our means of communication. We, therefore, have to adhere to the language’s rules so that we can communicate properly. We should strive to use the correct phrases the correct words and the correct structure of this language.
Opting for a local language doesn’t mean these problems will dissappear. Local languages also demand correct phrasing, spelling, structure etc. Our failure to be competent shouldn’t be blamed on the use of a once foreign language.

    • We are not English, but we have gone to school. We learned in English and so should be able to construct meaninful sentences. There is no apology to make. Backwards as we are, we must learn english inorder to be fused into the modern world. Do not liken yourselves to Chinese and others. We are a disadvantaged lot and must learm to tow the line.

  2. Given Lubinda! !! The only other man who I’d give my vote to if he stood for presidency under the PF ticket

    • @Proudly Zambia, I feel the same way too, I like this man and I feel he is the only one who can make PF bounce back in 2016 that if the Constitution won’t be manipulated. Wynter has made himself an enemy of many out there and I have never heard people supporting or talking good of him. Its a shame. Given was always there for Bawama but today alula…

  3. Lubinda has taken the right stance. The recent statements on him from party cadres are aimed at drawing him into confrontation so that he is eventually cited for indiscipline and probably now expelled. According to people on the ground, Lubinda remains very popular in his constituency.

    • Very popular indeed, i hail from his constituency. Even if he stood as an Independent candidate today, he would still win unless………..

  4. Lubinda, like you have been doing of late just if on an off chance, Edgar Lungu goes into UTH ill one of these fine days.Take reporters with you to visit him.The PF will bless and cover you will with alot of glory for that.

  5. I have lots of respect for Given. His response is the first of its kind I have heard from the Zambian political podium. “Keep on Given. Yes don’t accept to be drawn into useless talks with some people who have no human heart.
Remember, you are highly respected by most well meaning Zambians.
    We live you”

  6. However if was Dora he would have responded. Its an issue of how courageous he is and whats at stake not integrity

    • It is a mark of civilisation and refinement to behave civilised.

One responds to civilised conversation and is not drawn into childish and pointless arguments..

If a kaponya or PF thug or child throws a tantrum, one lowers themselves by responding in kind.

    • That’s the meaning of civility iwe!…all you just want is to have him dragged into rubbish talk. What will it help him anyway even if he was to retort? Would you rather he answers just to scratch your ego? Grow up and start doing something tangible in life atase! Way to go Hon. Lubinda, kozo tate!

  7. Given Lubinda is by far the most sane and level headed politician in PF and i believe his support base cuts accross party lines. We love ya Lubinda and stay the course even when serving with these serpents you’ll eventually be vindicated.

    • I.dio.t! even with your lousy name you should know that smoking is harmful to health and we don’t want Lubinda to be unhealth when he takes over as president.
We will hammer this point until Edgar Lungu & Kabimba ‘Summer’ hear us.

  8. Okay, since you have gone to the boobs: Let’s compare first lady chessts: from the first First Lady to the Latest FIrst Lady. I think we all know who brings up the rear in this contest!!! The price you pay for liking “nkhote”

  9. @6.2 Sport on mate, simabelenga the Sun, or evening standard, the mistakes they write and no one questions or otherwise as long as they know the story. Manje mu Zedian awe kwena.

  10. Hon. Lubinda ,i thank and salute you for the manner in which you have conducted yourself, very mature indeed and who doesnt know your capabilities .

  11. regards to Hon Lubinda, you wil always be my inspiration. please take up the big job in 2016 with or without pf.

  12. And then there will be no vacancies for any of you when UPND comes into power, from the look of things, 2016 will be a hard one, all eyes will be on Zambia!

  13. All is well for those who stay in peace as Bakalubemba say, “mwikala patalala mwine apatalalika.” For sure Kabimba, being nosy and noisy as he is, can’t be described as a peaceful person and for that very fact, he is out of league with the likes of Given. However, we shouldn’t forget that the thuggery of the PF cadres will not spare Lubinda as its headed by the Secretary General of the PF, Kabimba who has never condemned all the savagery exhibited by its cadres. Viva Given(Kufiwa) Lubinda.
    Kozo
