President Micheal Sata has with immediate effect appointed newly elected Feira Patriotic Front (PF) Member of Parliament Patrick Ngoma as Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early Education.
This contained in a statement released to the media by the president’s special aid for public relations and press George Chellah.
This is according to President Sata’s letter to Mr. Ngoma dated June 24, 2013, which was also copied to the Vice-president Dr Guy Scott, the Speaker of the National Assembly Justice Dr. Patrick Matibini and the Secretary to the Cabinet Dr. Roland Msiska among others.
President Sata said that he was confident that Mr. Ngoma will perform to his expectations and that of the Zambian people in general.
The Head of State has also maintained that his government will continue taking practical steps to revitalize the education sector.
The president noted that in line with the PF manifesto, his administration will keep on prioritizing the education sector and provide opportunities that will facilitate substantial growth and qualitative improvement in the education and training system of the country.
Awesome !!! Welcome to the club sir.
What kind of club can Sata-ire be chairman of? Discussing witchcraft of the bald-headed, what else are you good at Zebige?
It is indeed a club for the people who want to eat tax payers’ money and ride in the gravy train !!!
There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth when this gravy train suddenly crashes soon, rather than later !!!
I hope you chock on the gravy all of you passengers !!!
The king cobra is now taking zambians fogranted
Rubish! Rubish! Stupidity!
How many ministers are we going to have? All what he wants is put his cadres in jobs. How can one ministry have 4 ministers? Help me mwebantu?
The story above is for this and may other reason that I keep asking this question. Is the Zambian parliament and Zambia people in general really docile? Here is the president that stood in front of millions of Zambians promised among the other things reducing the gvt and the cabinet , but has he done that? and what has he done instead? are these decisions within his power? what does the constitution say regarding the number of ministers and deputy ministers? what is the parliament doing about this? and let alone what are Zambians doing about this? or are Zambians just really docile.
Does it mean there was a vacancy for deputy minister for education until Mr. Ngoma’s appointment?
Does it mean there was a vacancy for deputy minister of education until mr. Ngoma’s appointment?
Hey dude! Just appoint all mps ministers! Who really cares!
its regretable. 2016 is delaying for another change. what is happening now is just rubbish no they want retirement age to go up so that they remain in offices.
Even if 2016 comes, I for one cannot see anyone else apart from HEMCS as president and no one else.
Wat ru complaining about its more jobs and more money 4 zambians and feira mp is a zambian
More jobs for Zambians indeed, but explain to us where this government will find the money to pay this deputy minister? From my shallow brain, I think the people that pay taxes eg bus drivers, nurses, doctors etc will have to pay more taxes so sustain this minister and many other unnecessary ministers in this government. More taxes means less take home pay. Ninshi njala yangena pa nyumba. So again, may you please explain to us Kaponyas how this government will sustain this minister and many more to come.
@kaponyas, from airport tax. They will introduce hut tax, Person tax, Cattle tax, chicken tax, pigs tax, village tax(develop villages), rain tax, oxygen tax. Tax the Zambian for been a Zambian
This fo.ol is really taking people for granted ai? what an i.diot for a president! appoint everyone in your party to be ministers!by the way,u have never been in class how can u prioritize education?
unless there is something i dont understand,i feel we are over spending in this creating jobs for ministers and their deputies..Rich man in Ghanaian means yesekeni if broken down is he who does not spend, so as a nation avoid spending extravagantly and save if we are to be a rich nation.
*****
At this rate, they may as well create a brand new ministry to house all the people being rewarded with patronage.
May I suggest creating the Ministry of Perks, Allowances and Nepotism with immediate effect?
I now agree with the statement that if you throw a stone from anywhere in Lsk, it will land on the head of a deputy minister!
