Robert Chikwelete has welcomed the President Michael Sata’s pronouncement he was never appointed as Lusaka District party Chairman. In an interview with the media today Mr.Chikwelete said that it messaged from the president was good for the party as the words had come from the party president who was the one who recognised him as the Lusaka district chairperson last month at Chawama grounds where he had gone to launch a road project.
He declared that he would contest the same position and urged party officials to start organising themselves so that the said elections could be held soon.
Mr Chikwelete said that the bold move President Sata had taken was an indication that there were parallel structures in the party and that the president wanted to see them come to an end.
He urged party members to heed to the president’s directive and stop issuing parallel statements until the scheduled elections day was set.
“This is a very good directive, this is what we have been waiting for because I was just part of those PF members who were gathered to welcome the President but he recognised me as the Lusaka district chairman. So his directive is welcome, but let me state that, of course, I will contest the position,”
And Lusaka PF provincial chairperson, Geoffrey Chuumbwe said the directive given by the President was wise and needed to be followed by all he said.
Soon after the Lusaka we need Parliamentary elections since most seats will be nullified. Hope the president can dissolve parliament soon. So that as soon as the constitution is adopted by parliament we begin preparing for elections

Pure nonsense! We all saw through this scheme. Isn’t this the same Chuumbwe who was talking of expelling Chikwelete from PF? Has Chikwelete’s misdemeanours all vanished now? Of course as we had predicted, Goodson Banda will say he is also standing and so this will pit the pro-Sata group against the pro-Kabimba group. The result will send a message through the PF as to which side has an upper hand and will not heal any wounds. So long as Mr Sata lacks decisive leadership, PF’s fortune’s will continue to diminish. Someone needs to get a grip on this tragedy that is unfolding.
