Chaos reigned at Konkola Stadium as fighting between leaders Nkana and Konkola Blades supporters on Sunday forced Kabwe referee Wisdom Chewe to abandon the two teams’ FAZ Super Division match ten minutes from time.
Chewe stopped the match after inadquate police officers at Konkola Stadium could not control the crowd at the time Konkola were leading 1-0 thanks to a 15th minute penalty scored by Humprey Maseneko.
Fighting erupted in the open wing after some suspected home fans started teasing Nkana supporters.
Confusion prevailed at the stadium as Nkana supporters overpowered their Konkola counterparts.
Stones rained all over and some fans caught up in fracas sustained injuries.
This forced police officers to fire teagass as a way of controlling the unruly crowd.
The match started with less than five police officers.
On the pitch, Konkola dominated play in both halves and were headed for victory before the match was halted.
This match will referred to the FAZ disciplinary committe
YABA KALAMAPA please I thought our fans stopped throwing stones.
i pray nkana doesn’t win the league. it will be shamefull for a team known for violence to represent zambia.
what has gone wrong only Five police officers. No tick ku football?
It is a lie. There were alot of Police officers at the stadium
Nkaana uuuu…
FAZ should ban this team (Nkana) to bring sanity in the Zambian League. To me this team is a shame to the Zambian league. Those who are saying there was no enough security at the stadium are telling lies. Nkana supporters just realized that they are loosing the game and started throwing stones just to disrupt the game.
Please! please! please! FAZ ban this team for the rest of games this season because their Fans do not accept the defeat and we are moving toward the end of the league i am sure we if this team is allowed to continue we are going to lose a life.
THE LACK OF SECURITY WAS NOTED EVEN BEFORE THE GAME STARTED ! NKANA WERE PREPARED TO FINISH THE GAME BUT UNRULY KONKOLA FANS STARTED TEASING NKANA SUPPORTERS !
@LCD Teasing your opponent is not a crime. Its actually a tactic that anyone can use and on that one Nkana will loose it. Being teased is not a reason to break the law. Even on the field of play your opponents will try to provoke you so that you react and maybe get a red card for your own foolishness. No wonder Zidane was given a red card when he was provoked.

it canmt impossible. kalampa to stay, we were provoked. in wusakile, we dont like loosing but we do accept it but not multiplying the loss with provocation. ifyofyena tatufwaya, otherwise what happenned is unfortunate; we dont enjoy fighting others with missiles.
God richly bless kalampa.
Nonsense iwe, learn to differentiate between the fans and the team members. Yes hooliganism is not welcome behavior and we condemn it in all its forms but to ban the team and deprive the team from participating in future games is going too far! It is not the players but FANS!
Lahlee,
Be objective and less emotional and blinded by your hatred of Nkana. It is the Konkola Blades fans who, overexcited by their imminent victory, actually provoked the Nkana supporters by vociferously teasing them and throwing objects at them. Then the Nkana supporters reacted. This is typical fanatical behaviour which you witness even in th UK. It’s not acceptable behaviour and both Blades and Nkana supporters should be condemned.
I was at the stadium and i can assure you it was Nkana who started. The started stoning the bill boards behind them to provoke Konkola fans. Upon seeing bill boards bending, Konkola fans started teasing them , and that is when they Nkana fans started throwing objects including glass bottles.Konkola responded as well. How can a genuine heart throw such things when you know that it can either injure or kill someone. That is unethical.
@LAHLEE Stupid *****.
swine you are backwards
if Nkana were a better why did there funs misbehave?
They saw them loosing hence creating confusion with only 7 minutes remaining be4 end of the game. They should also be charge like power were for the funs misbehaving. Nkana officials please teach your funs that there 3 things in a game
Win, Lose and draw.
All the best in your next 3 games.
If you cant wine the Game wine the fight, its not Nkana who started so the blades deserved it. Go Nkana yeaheeee
We all know how Nkana funs behave when they know that are loosing.
FAZ ensure that Nkana pay for the damanages done at Konkola stadium like you did to Power @ Trade Fair.
Ba kalampa, tamwaka chinge?
They provoked us, so what did they expect us to do? of course hit back!….u mean you can throw objects on mwana Wusakile when his team is down and you expect him to just sit and watch you? Never! Never! Never! not mwana wusakile. Anyway Nkana is my team and i feel bad the game was abandoned. The fighting from both sides is bad for the game
Nkana full of thugs. these thugs needs to be punished severely. they are sending a very wrong signal to the entire Africa concerning Zambian football. Shame on you !!!!!!!!
4 those with Dstvs watch the repeat game u wl c how mockerly blades were. They almost cut one nkana fans with Razor Blades.
Kopala thug , sorry , I mean Konkola thug ! ! ! You KONKOLA THUGS started the confusion to disrupt the game when you were barely hanging on to your 1-0 lead !

Am a Nkana supporter watched the game on DSTV was not impressed with both teams standard of play. Its like watching amature teams playing no wonder were national team lack good players. At least the Nchanga/ZESCO and Buffaloes/Arrows games were a bit advanced in systems of play and standards of football. The only let down thing or disappointing thing at the Auther Davis double header games was the low turn out of fans to watch the games. This Nkana side of today is a shadow of itself,no wonder we can lose to teams like Nkwazi pa chilata.I loathe the Nkana of 80s and 90s where former classmate at might Mukuba Secondary School Reuben Sakala(MHSRP) used play holding the midfield it was good to watch football that time. Not now we need to revamp football in schools and colleges to forge ahead.
You can’t win a league by throwing stones DEVILS.4 this one just accept u lost.
We didn’t lose ! There was still time to equalise ! Konkola fans caused the confusion because of massive Nkana pressure threatening an equaliser late in the game !
Why is it that when Nkana lost at home by Nkwazi, no wrangles were there? Nkana accepted the defeat. Why should should they start the fight away from home?
BK, there is no stammering in writing.
KONKOLA FANS WERE THE ONES WHO STARTED THE CONFUSION BECAUSE OF MASSIVE NKANA ONSLAUGHT IN THE SECOND HALF ! IT WAS HALF GROUND AS NKANA ATTACKED RELENTLESSLY ! THE KONKOLA FANS WERE CONCERNED ABOUT AN INEVITABLE NKANA EQUALISER IN THE CLOSING STAGES !
AS A LONG STANDING SOCCER FAN , I KNOW THERE WAS STILL TIME FOR AN ONE GOAL AT LEAST AT THE TIME THE GAME WAS ABANDONED .
THERE IS NO TEAM THAT HAS NO UNRULY FANS ( INCLUDING NKWAZI , THE COP’S TEAM ) ! IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO KEEP THEM APART BY PROVIDING ENOUGH SECURITY !
The teargas had choked match commisioners hence they had to abdoned the game.
You’re right , if the Police did not resort to teargas , the game would have continued and finished ! Both teams were waiting for the game to be restarted ! Nkana even made a double sub during the stoppage but the game did not restart ! We shall honestly never know if the scores would have remained the same . In football , the time remaining was long enogh for even two goals to be scored !
The Media should take equal blame in this scenario.
Nkana fans have been misbehaving from game 1 of the season and nothing has ever been mentioned, worse it appears the match commissioners reports have been doctored and have not revealed the Nkana hooliganism and so FAZ can not act on hearsay, this despite them watching games from the same grounds were hooliganism is being taken for support.
Let us see if Kalu is man enough.
Nkana fans were provoked by the teasing from Konkola fans. Konkola fans should take the blame. Provoking Nkana fans is asking for a beating. Power fans can comfirm that. What surprises me is that Konkola fans were more in numbers, but how came they were overpowered by Nkana fans?
By the way Nkana lost at home to Nkwazi but there was no violence.
nkwazi did not come with supporters
