Transport, Works, Supply and Communications Minister Yamfwa Mukanga says flight RwandAir which has been introduced to Zambia will strengthen the already existing cordial relations between the two countries.

Mr Mukanga said this last evening during the launch of the direct from Kigali to Johannesburg via Lusaka, using RwandAir airlines.

Mr. Mukanga said the opening up of this route shows the importance both countries attach to the cordial relations that exist.

He said the airline will not only service Zambians but also service and strengthen movements of both goods and services.

Mr Mukanga said Zambians are so proud that RwandaAir will not only end up in Zambia but also proceed to Johannesburg, a move he said will increase the tourism inflow.

He said Zambians have been given an alternative and choice of airline.

He further thanked Proflight Zambia on its commitment and devotion to the nation as it will enhance domestic activities.

Mr Mukanga said this is a testimony of the Patriotic Front-PF administration of more money in people’s pockets, as many will now have extra moneys for other activities.

Speaking earlier RwandAir Chief Executive Officer John Mirenge thanked the Zambian government for allowing their flight to have Zambia as one of their destinations.

  1. What a country fool of crooks that can’t run an airline when small countries like Malawi and Rwanda are able to run their airlines whilist we sit and say it is expensive to run an airline. Always depending on other countries to do things for us.

    • Zambia is a failed country, that depends only on Copper. Our leaders lack vision hence failure to run an airline.

Go on let other countries benefit..

  2. I can only say zambia is cursed with leadership. Some statements just make my heart sink. Yamfwa chi..ba should have been praising his own airline. What happened to his promise of a national airline by 2013? There is no hope or vision in this PF government. There are certain times like these when I wish I was not a zambian.
