Lusaka Tigers changes name to Matero Tigers

8

ONE of the oldest football teams in Zambia, Lusaka Tigers has been re-christened Matero Tigers to give the team a new face and lease of life.

And Finance and National Planning Deputy Minister, Miles Sampa has donated K5 million per win to Lusaka Tigers football club after the club management agreed to change the name to Matero Tigers.

Sampa, who is also Matero Member of Parliament, has also donated K1 million for every goal scored in a winning match by the Division One South club.
During a ceremony held on Wednesday at Matero Stadium in Lusaka, the Sampa said it takes money for a team to succeed in football and gave examples of African giants TP Mazembe and English Premier League club, Manchester City as one of the teams that have scored successes because of money.

And Lusaka Tigers chairman Sam Phiri said his team is in serious financial need to propel them to the MTN/FAZ Super Division next year. He said currently the club finds it difficult to travel for away games as it does not have a bus to use for transport. “We don’t have a bus and that makes our trips difficult because we have to source for funds from well-wishers for our travels,” he said.

Due to financial difficulties, Lusaka Tigers have failed to maintain Matero stadium which is currently in a deplorable state and have adopted the Independence stadium as their home ground.

And speaking to the players and officials, Sampa said it is his civic duty as the area MP to ensure that recreation facilities such as the
Matero stadium are in good state. He said now that the government has banned alcoholic drink tujilijili, there is need for more recreation centers that will act as substitutes for illicit activities.

“I shall look for partners who will help refurbish Matero stadium so that you (Lusaka Tigers) come back and start playing at your beloved
home ground and enjoy the support of you local fans,” he said.

Name change for Lusaka Tigers has been welcomed by residents who said it will make them feel part of the team. Farai Mujajati a Lusaka Tigers fan and Matero resident said it has been long overdue and he is happy that the name has been changed.

The changing of the name according to FAZ rules can only be effected after the 2013 FAZ annual general meeting (AGM).

Meanwhile, Power Dynamos skipper Joseph Sitali has expressed satisfaction with the Arthur Davies outfit’s start to their Super Division title defence.

Defending league champions Power are second on the table one point behind Zesco United after seven games played.

Power face bottom place Nakambala Leopards tomorrow in Mazabuka in a Week 8 game.

Sitali stated that unlike in the past, this season Power have started their league campaign on a good note.

“I think as league defending champions this year we have started on a good note. We have played seven games winning five, drawing one and a loss,” he said.

Opposition should seek other avenues for resolving internal matters instead of courting ‘foreigners’-Roy Mwaba

File:Zambia Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) Secretary General Roy Mwaba addresses journalists at Courtyard hotel in Lusaka

THE Zambian Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) general secretary Roy Mwaba has now changed allegiance from the MMD to the party in government when he decided to antagonize the union’s leadership by questioning why it was necessary to meet opposition political party leaders over their stance to oppose President Sata’s suspending Judges.

Mr Mwaba, who was supportive of MMD programmes and activities prior to the September 20 general elections, shocked many people at a press briefing in Lusaka when he asked why opposition political party leaders were courting the diplomatic community on internal matters which Zambians had the capacity to resolve.

Mr Mwaba said if the opposition were aggrieved on the suspension of judges, they should seek other avenues of resolving internal matters instead of courting ‘foreigners’.

“There are a number of avenues that the opposition can follow if there is any issue that they feel should be addressed. For example the opposition leaders have Members of Parliament (MPs) who can raise an issue in parliament or they can call for an interparty dialogue where issues can be discussed.

“So there are avenues through which internal matters can be resolved. So as a labour movement we are wondering why the opposition is running to seek foreign intervention when there are avenues,” he said.

Mr Mwaba advised foreign missions not to interfere with the country’s internal matters as Zambian’s had the capacity to solve their internal issues.

He said Zambia was a sovereign state which was capable of resolving its internal issues.

Mwaba said opposition party leaders should stop wasting time of the labour movement and they next time they wished to meet with the ZCTU on any matter, they should make a formal application instead of the impromptu approach taken this time.

Mwaba said the opposition political party leaders had besieged the ZCTU headquarters, which are located next to the office for the taskforce on corruption headquarters in Lusaka’s Porsche Woodlands suburbs to seek audience with the labour movement over the suspension of three judges. He said nothing tangible was discussed in the meeting.

“There was nothing that was resolved in the so called meeting and there are minutes to that effect and this will be availed to the board. But advise the opposition that next time they wish to meet us they should follow procedure,” he said.

Mwaba emphasized that the ZCTU would only issues a statement on the suspended judges after gathering adequate information because the Congress did not want to speculate on the case.

He also took time to comment on the Barosteland turbulence saying the labour movement was shocked as to why some stakeholders were making unwarranted comments on the matter when President Michael Sata had not made any official position following the Roger Chongwe Commission of inquiry whose report was tossed out by the President upon its submission at State House.

He said ZCTU always advocated for a united Zambia and that all and its affiliates would always stand to defend the position of the mother body.

Christopher Katongo among highly paid in Africa

44

ZAMBIA soccer skipper Christopher Katongo has been ranked among Africa’s top paid sportsmen, according to the latest figures from ESPN The Magazine’s Money Issue salary survey project. Katongo, who guided the Chipolopolo to a historic 2012 Africa Cup of Nations triumph, reaps about a modest $458 000 (about K2.3 billion) annually.

According to Supersport.com, Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan is Africa’s highest paid sportsman, earning about $16 million yearly while Cameroon’s Samuel Eto’o gets in the range of $13.3 million.

The list is likely to draw controversy, as other financial reports had placed Ivorian star Yaya Toure at the top of the list. However, this
list comprises the earnings that represent salary and/or prize money from the 2011 calendar year or most recent season.

ESPN’s survey says Yaya Toure receives $15.4 million, Angola’s Manucho gets $865,579 with Malawian soccer player, Tamika Mkandawire earning $571 000 while Mali’s Frederic Kanoute reaps $8.6 million.

Due to confidentiality of information for certain players, official salary figures were not available. In that case, ESPN used earnings that were based on information from multiple sources including leagues, agents, sports federations, cultural centers and the United
Nations.

The Black Stars player shares the ‘title’ with Liberia’s Tamba Hali, who plays American football as an outside linebacker for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Togolese talisman Emmanuel Adebayor also reaps about $13.3 million with South Africa’s Steven Pienaar picking up $4.2 million while Egyptians Mohammed Zidan and Mohamed Abu Treika each pocket $2.5 million.

Worldwide, Barcelona’s Lionel Messi keeps his status as football’s highest earner. He has bagged earnings of $43.5 million yearly – that’s from wages, bonuses, sponsorships and endorsements.

Opposition leaders meet MISA -Zambia

MISA-Zambia Chairperson, Daniel Sikazwe
MISA-Zambia Chairperson, Daniel Sikazwe

The Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Zambia today met six opposition political party presidents on the suspension of judges. The meeting took place at the MISA-Zambia offices in Lusaka.

The opposition political party leaders in attendance were Mr Hakainde Hichilema of the United Party for National Development (UPND), Sakwiba
Sikota of the United Liberal Party (ULP), Brigadier Godfrey Miyanda of the Heritage Party (HP), Charles Milupi of the Alliance for Development and Democracy (ADD) and Mr Edwin Sakala the President of the Zambia Direct Democracy Movement (ZDDM) while Chembe Member of Parliament Mwansa Mbulakulima represented the Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD).

Speaking on behalf of the opposition political parties, Milupi said the contention surrounding the suspension of the three judges was that President Michael Sata was not being transparent and sincere in the entire process.

The opposition political parties supported the fight against corruption and were committed to the urgent need for genuine judicial reforms which must include all stakeholders and must be done within a framework by which the outcome is acceptable to all.

And brigadier General Miyanda said the opposition political parties had noted with concern, the media blackout of opposition leaders on controversial matters such as the suspension of judges that were of national interest.

But MISA-Zambia Chairperson Daniel Sikazwe merely appealed to the media in Zambia to be ethical and professional in their reporting especially on matters of national interest because this would allow citizens the right to access balanced information which for them to
make informed decisions.

The debate on the suspension of the judges was a matter of national interest that needed to be covered adequately and in a balanced manner to allow the citizens to make informed judgment.

Sikazwe was also grateful that the opposition political party leaders found it important to meet with MISA-Zambia. Sikazwe implored the politicians continue dialoguing with MISA-Zambia on matters that affect the country.

Sikazwe said that MISA Zambia would study the de-briefing note but would only state its position on the matters raised during the National Governing Council meeting that would be held next week.

Sikazwe also reiterated the need for media law reforms in Zambia which would guarantee true media freedom, enhance media professionalism and ethical reporting. He urged politicians to use their influence to ensure press freedom in Zambia.

Africa’s Invisible Generation

Africa’s Invisible Generation is a film highlighting the social and economic issues affecting Zambia’s youth. The film is a result of a two-year collaboration between London Video Productions and Kayzon Kays, a Zambian social commentator passionate about encouraging young Zambians to take an active role in shaping their own future.

The film is one of the first steps in highlighting the plight of Zambia’s youth to a global audience with the aim of creating an inspirational worldwide grassroots movement, joining up youth organizations in Zambia with other youth groups across Africa and comparable youth organizations around the world.

President Sata refuses to retire Judge Musonda

54

President Michael Sata has refused to grant suspended Supreme Court Judge Phillip early retirement after Justice Musonda tendered his application on May 8 this year.

According to Mr Sata’s spokesperson George Chellah, the President has decided to make the letter containing suspended Supreme Court judge
Phillip Musonda’s application for early retirement public in order to insulate the general public from lies and distortions being
permeated by some irresponsible media houses with strange agenda.

Mr Sata said he would only consider judge Musonda’s request for early retirement, after the tribunal probing him had sat.

“I have set up a tribunal as distinctly approved by the Constitution of Zambia and we shall not circumvent that process. For that reason, I
will only consider his Lordship Phillip Musonda’s request for early retirement after the tribunal’s findings,” President Sata said.

“My principal obligation is to be guardian of public interest and it is therefore my duty to correct falsehoods, twists and misrepresentation of facts by certain deceitful elements and authors of disorder within our political circles and beyond,” President Sata
said.

This Patrotic Front government has re-affirmed its committed to follow the due process of the law and no one would stop them from the
national agenda of bringing transparency and accountability in all arms of governance.

The President said all those who are interested in this matter regarding the suspended judges should allow the tribunal to sit and therefore uphold the due process of the law before resorting to wild media speculations.

Bittersweet Poetry : Poems of the week by Martha Kundwe,Millan Sichinga, Ludo Lillmiss

As we continue to promote Poetry in Zambia ; here are this weeks poems ,enjoy.

MY ZAMBIAN LADY by Milan Sichinga

I am Zambian and I’m proud of my Zambian lady,

Proud even more for what she’s done for me lately,

Even though that victory was slender,

12th February is one night I will live to remember,

It was a night that had eluded her for 19 years,

I was so young when I watched her shed those tragic tears,

The following year she was in the final, leading one zero

She had a great left footed man as her hero,

Second place wasn’t so bad, even third place two years later,

She had the same good heart, perhaps even better,

It took fourteen years to shake off the group that had her caged,

Instead of a Dutch it was a Frenchman who took centre stage,

Two years later, she was underrated,

But my lady had the bullets and was never faded,

First it was the Taranga lions,

She broke the chains of fear; threw away the captive irons,

Ghadafi, Gdgabo, Bashir, weren’t much,

It was in the Black Star that she found her match,

I was high screaming on the dancefloor,

When her one bullet was the lone winning goal,

And after 18years my Zambian lady was in the final again,

The stadium packed, the tension deep, and of course the rain,

In the first minute and her bullet almost went in,

I have never been that excited about anything,

It was right-on-the-edge-of-the-seat stuff,

The whole world’s eyes were on her like a person who’s in love,

But my eyes looked away when that elephant stepped up to the spot,

Did he score? Did he win it for them? No he skewed away his shot,

Just like his teammate at the other end,

I was scared I won’t pretend,

I was livid with excitement when young Mazembe stepped up, our own little star,

But then he blasted it over the bar,

Then the other elephant blasted it away from goal,

Then Isuzu converted and the trophy wouldn’t elude her anymore,

She exploded, she danced, she flowered,

She did it because she was brave, she wasn’t a coward,

Champion, fallen heroes of years of yore truly honoured,

And now my Zambian lady has the whole region cornered.

FORGIVE ME by Martha Kundwe

She stands there in your favourite dress drenched in blood….

All she asks is help to fight her demons..

Stay.. Please stay..

She fulfilled her selfish wants..

You called her heartless..

Everything you had she destroyed

Molested.. Now all you have is regret..

A tinge of bitterness.. A lot of hate..

And anger that would

Move a mountain.. You are hurt..

Head bowed..

Lips moving.. Uttering nothing but silent..

Prayers for vengeance..

And a world of destruction..

But…. Wait.. Look up… See?

There, do you see

Her heart.. Her life..Her body are not returned to her..

Wipe your eyes

Let your tears not cloud you..

See what monsters creep in on her in this wake..

The demons gather around her..

Shadows formed..

A black mist created..

For the light is now blocked ..

They cannot be allowed in..

Ugly inside out..

She is the object of your hatred.

The thin line between love and hate is blurry..

She is unforgiving.. Even to herself..

She doesn’t know what killed her inside..

Sadly, she will never know

He mind is taken over..

She has killed u..

Murderer!!

But no court.. No judge.. No jury..

Just the headless executioner..

Lost soul.. Abandoned emotions..

Only absence in place where your heart used to be..

She rolls in the mud..

Taking her punishment:

The insults,

Flogging

Mutilation..

She feels lower than dirt..

She needs to pay for what she has done.

You say to your self

Yes, she must

Feel hurt.

Feel pain to the point where nothing is left..

Rip out her heart.

and it is presented to u-the one she hurt.

U meet her eyes with a blank stare..

Blood drips.

A pool is forming below her.

She had a choice huh?

The shadows whisper

Why did she do it’

Fear?

Is she out of touch with reality?

She is slowly running mad,

She must be the spawn of Hades

Heartless..

surely all u said to her was deserved.

Foul creature..

Let her suffer..

It is too late to trust her again..

Ur innermost feelings are shattered

Dishonoured..

Ñothing else matters.

Love is so childish..

The wrongs against u..

Too grand to ignore

The evidence over whelming strong..

Ur feelings measured against the actions.

Apologies too boring

Too repetitive.. U left.. Her worlds in pieces.. crumbled..

She has one sorry you can not refuse..

A last resort..

And so she stands there

In your favourite dress..

Drenched in blood..

A knife on the ground..

Her tears, blood

You can not refuse her in death…..

Opposition to continue meeting diplomats

39
Heritage Party leader Godfrey Miyanda
Heritage Party leader Godfrey Miyanda

Opposition political parties have challenged the Law Association of Zambia to state the provisions of the law it has used to bar lawyers in the country from debating the suspension of the three Judges by President Michael Sata.

Speaking during a joint media briefing in Lusaka this morning, Heritage party president Godfrey Miyanda who spoke on behalf of the opposition political parties said it is ridiculous for LAZ to bar the lawyers in the country from commenting on the suspension of the 3 judges.

Brigadier General Miyanda noted that it is not fair for LAZ to bar individual lawyers from debating the matter adding that the move amounts to impediment on the freedom of expression.

[pullquote]the opposition in the country is not against the corruption fight but that they are concerned with the manner in which corruption is being fought[/pullquote]

And General Miyanda noted that the opposition has been misunderstood that it is trying to cause anarchy in the country by uniting and meeting other stakeholders in the country.

General Miyanda says it is within their constitution right to unite and speak with one voice on issues bordering on national interest.

He notes that the opposition in the country is not against the corruption fight but that they are concerned with the manner in which corruption is being fought.

General Miyanda noted that the opposition have condemned the manner in which the three judges were suspended saying the President did not follow the laid down procedures.

The opposition leaders have questioned why the Solicitor General and the minister of finance and national planning allegedly wrote to Development Bank of Zambia asking the institution to write-off the debt owed by the Post newspapers limited and JNC investment holdings.

And brigadier General Miyanda has vowed that the opposition will continue engaging with the various stakeholders including diplomats to discuss issues of national interest.

He said diplomats are at liberty to meet opposition political leaders in the country because they also do intelligence works for their respective countries.

General Miyanda has since condemned President Sata for indicating that the diplomats should stay away from the internal affairs of Zambia saying the statement amounts to threats.

He has stressed that the opposition will not stop expressing their views and has challenged the ministry of information and broadcasting to facilitate for debates on ZNBC.

Other opposition leaders that were present at the briefing included UPND’s Hakainde Hichilema ADD’s Charles Milupi, MMD acting president Michael Mabenga and ULP’s Sakwiba Sikota.

10 vehicles seize while 3 probed over FRA maize scam in Kalomo

File:FRA casuals packaging mazie in FRA bags earmarked for export

TEN vehicles have been seized from three traders and a civil servant in Kalomo in a crackdown on the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) maize thefts.

The seized vehicles included an unregistered Freelander, two Prado Land Cruisers, four Freightliner horses, two refrigerated Volvo trucks and one unregistered BMW.

All the vehicles are currently parked at Kalomo Police Station.

Joint Government Investigative Wing acting Public Relations Officer Namukolo Kasumpa confirmed the seizure of the vehicles and that the trio was being investigated.

The investigations into the FRA maize scam would be extended to all parts of the country.

“The vehicles were seized in connection to the FRA maize fraud.

The three men and a lady are being investigated for having received payments from different FRA depots in Kalomo for maize which they never supplied,” she said.

A woman working for Zambia National Service (ZNS) is alleged to be the owner of one of the Volvo refrigeration trucks.

The mother of the woman was earlier arrested in connection with the maize scam and would appear in a Kalomo magistrate’s court today.

In the same maize fraud, police have detained Victor Hamuvwimi, 32, an FRA buyer of Kalemu depot in Ndudumwezi area to assist in the on-going investigations.

Mr Hamuvwimi of Zimwidele Village, Chief Chikanta’s area, in Kalomo District is alleged to have failed to account for 30,000 bags of maize worth about K1.9 billion all of which were in his custody.

Zambia, US sign K1.8trn Water and Sanitation Deal

16
File:Some officials from UNICEF inspect houses that were flooded in Lusaka

ZAMBIA yesterday signed the single largest grant in the water, sanitation and drainage sector with the American government through the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) worth US$355 million (K1.8 trillion).

Finance and National Planning Minister Alexander Chikwanda signed the grant which is equivalent to K1.8 trillion on behalf of the Zambian Government while MCC chief executive officer Daniel Yohannes signed on behalf of the US government in Lusaka yesterday.

The five year $355 million compact deal aims at addressing one of Zambia’s most binding constraints to economic growth through infrastructure investment in Lusaka.

The compact would invest in water supply, sanitation and drainage infrastructure to reduce the prevalence of water related diseases.

The signing ceremony that took place at the Civic Centre, was witnessed by Vice-President Guy Scott who said Lusaka was built on a water shed which caused flooding easily.

Dr Scott said the grant would greatly assist in reducing incidents of flooding through improved drainage systems.

Speaking after the signing ceremony, Mr Chikwanda said the deal was a landmark for the city of Lusaka in its quest to provide water and sanitation for the residents of the nation’s capital whose population had grown from 134,000 at independence to over two million now.

He said the water, sanitation and drainage infrastructure had been out-stripped by the vast population growth mainly attributed to influx of people from all over Zambia in search of opportunities.

“This fight is not only to secure the MCC or other external support but because our own history and experience has taught us that good governance is key to the country’s sustainable development,” he said.

Mr Yohannes said MCC believed that its investments would only be sustainable if they were driven by partner countries themselves.

“So, true to the MCC principle of country-owned development, this compact is by and for the people of Zambia, both men and women,” he said.

He said in addition to the country owned development, the Zambia-MCC partnership practiced other principles key to development effectiveness which included making tough policy reforms for sustainability and embracing mutual accountability to deliver tangible results.

He said the MCC appreciated how strongly the PF Government was committed to the success of the compact deal.

US ambassador to Zambia Mark Storella said besides the water project, the US government stood by the Zambian people to support credible elections.

Mr Storella said Zambia demonstrated through its peaceful transition that even a small country could be a leader on the world stage.

In good governance, Mr Storella said his government was cooperating to strengthen institutions to fight corruption.

Another Tribunal can be set up investigate DPP Nchito- TIZ

43
Director of Public Prosecutions Mutembo Nchito
Director of Public Prosecutions Mutembo Nchito

Transparency International Zambia (TIZ) has advised stakeholders calling for the resignation of Director of Public Prosecutions Mutembo Nchito to follow the right procedure.

TIZ president Reuben Lifuka says the tribunal that has been set up by the president is for a specific cause, noting that it will be out of context to bring in another issue.

Mr. Lifuka however states that the setting up of the tribunal to investigate the suspended judges does not stop Zambians from advocating for another tribunal if there is any misconduct on the part of the DPP.

Speaking in an interview, Mr. Lifuka says it will be wise to first deal with the issue of the judges, and in the process of the tribunal if the DPP becomes culpable; he can equally be subjected to further scrutiny.

He has however advised citizens to follow the law and ensure that matters are not mixed.

And Mr. Lifuka says the institution of a tribunal to look into the alleged misconduct of the three suspended judges was legally done and within the powers of the president.

He says the only concern will be if the tribunal is the only way of reforming the judicial system.

Mr.Lifuka says government needs to articulate and implement appropriate reforms in the judiciary.

A PEASANT farmer in Kasama has been arrested for allegedly beating his pregnant wife to death after a domestic dispute.

The woman identified as Helen Mwelwa, 20, was eight months pregnant when her husband who is 27 years old hit her on the head and sustained internal injuries.

LAZ threaten to revoke licences of lawyers who continue comment on suspended judges

28
LAZ president James Banda
LAZ president James Banda

LAWYERS risk having their licences revoked if they continue commenting on the recent suspension of three judges and the setting up of a tribunal without permission from the association’s council, the Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) has warned.

LAZ president James Banda said in an internal circular yesterday, addressed to all legal practitioners, that lawyers should stop expressing their opinion publicly without the permission the LAZ council.

Mr Banda urged all members to immediately refrain from issuing statements to the media on any legal subject, including the recent event concerning the suspension of the three judges and the subsequent setting up of a tribunal to investigate their alleged misconduct.

Last week, President Michael Sata appointed a tribunal to be chaired by Malawian judge Lovemore Chikopa with members Thomas Ndhlovu and Naboth Mwanza, both retired judges, and Chipili Katunasa as secretary.

The tribunal would investigate alleged impropriety involving Supreme Court Judge Phillip Musonda and High Court judges Charles Kajimanga and Nigel Mutuna.

“The Law Association of Zambia notes with great concern that it has become common practice for lawyers to speak off-the-cuff and express their opinion publicly without obtaining permission of the council or legal practitioners committee,” Mr Banda

Angola ready to ‘oil’ Zambia

17
Angolan Secretary of State for External Relations, Augusto Manuel
Angolan Secretary of State for External Relations, Augusto Manuel

ANGOLA has urged Zambia to take advantage of the short distance and buy oil from that country instead of getting the commodity from the Middle East.

Angolan Secretary of State for External Relations, Augusto Manuel said his country had abundant oil and saw no reason for Zambia to go as far as Saudi Arabia to procure the commodity.

He was speaking at the Zambia-Angola Investment Forum at Taj Pamodzi Hotel in Lusaka yesterday.

Mr Manuel said it was important for Zambia and Angola to cement the already warm relations by increasing business transactions.

The two countries should build infrastructure for the benefit of the two peoples, he said.

“We in Angola have a lot of oil, huge reserves and it does not make sense for Zambia which is our neighbour to be going to get the same oil from Saudi Arabia. We are currently building a big refinery in Angola and we are also committed to putting up a pipeline linking the
two countries.

“So instead of going to buy from Saudi Arabia, Zambia should buy from Angola. Access to the port for Zambia is nearer in Angola at Lobito than anywhere else,” he said.

Mr Manuel said Zambia and Angola were both heavily involved in construction and that it would be important for the two countries to partner in improving infrastructure.

He said his country had made significant strides in construction of Benguela Railway, which would link the two countries through Luau in Angola and Mwinilunga in Zambia.

“We shall be reaching Luau in December this year and this rail line will be important as it will also link the two countries to the Congo DR and help boost trade and investment,” he said.

Commerce, Trade, and Industry Deputy Minister, Keith Mukata said the construction of the Benguela rail line would improve trade between the two countries as well as work towards achieving regional integration.

“The Benguela Railway will improve relations between the two countries as well as transportation of goods.

“It is encouraging that the railway on the Angolan side will reach the border by next year,” he said.

He said trade between Zambia and Angola was low and that the signing of the bilateral agreement would go a long way in improving trade statistics.
