Married people are agents of change – Nyirongo

Share

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Country Representative Macleod Nyirongo has advised married people to be agents of behavioural change in the era of the HIV/AIDS pandemic.

Mr Nyirongo said married people should live on the principle of trust and faith for society to change for the better.
He said it was only love, trust and loyalty and not engaging in extra marital affairs that could help build society.

He was speaking at the wedding ceremony of former Miss Zambia Precious Mumbi who married a Lusaka business professional Makwemba Haabenzu in Chamba Valley, last evening.

Speaking earlier, a family representative Henry Simuyola advised the newly wed couple to respect each other adding that marriage was a sacred gift from God.

Mr Simuyola urged married people to be tolerant of one another and thereby ensure that they live happily in their marriage.

  1. You people always the same stories everydays anyways i am searching for other sites with more personal daily updates i found a few hence i dont spend a lot of time here i thinking of openning a online charity that helps people directly and not through NGO. I came across a site where they or he/she has set up there own site and they make money for themselves when people click on adds on the site or use the google search on the web you can check it out if you like and help hivpositivelife . com sorry i paste this on all topics but i was touched

  2. go to hivpositivelife . com and tell your story i think this might help stop the spread if people come out by themselves to share through there own medium and not feel they are being forced to come out in the open

  3. Of course, married people are exemplary in all circles and marriage is sacred. Hoping all the advice given at this wedding did not fall on deaf ears.

  4. …and knowing the Bride likes the limelight so she probably is the one with the most `deaf ears’.
I say so because most of the chaps on the zambian so called Celeb Scene are the same rats who spread these things….
sorry i end here, enjoy your thing anyway!

  5. I hope our culture continues to uphold such values. The moral decadency that can be observed in some western countries is alarming- for example in Germany, they believe in having “open-relationships”. They even have agencies where married people can share multiple relations with other married partners on contract.

  6. The married couples of yesterday are not the married couples of today. If these people getting married for petty reasons like money, big wedding or loneliness then these agents are showing change in the worst direction.

  7. marriage yanomba it’s full of shit.i have a friend who was in the prime and threw a very powerful wedding. Venue:inters, time:22:00hrs till late guests:500, honey moon:mauritius. That was then.as fate has it our coleague somehow lost track and business badly went off the rails.what followed was not pleasant.anyway to sum it up the guy was sent in a very deep depression.in todays’s world you will be very lucky to find a wife like our mothers.they realy went in marriage out of love and they endured at the hands of out comical father but sustained the marriages, equally we guys of nowadays are overdozed with viagra we now tend to see our wives like our sisters and are busy screwing any bottom that we set eyes on.
