  1. Mbesumas habit of reporting late to his club has continued. Just what is wrong with this boy, he is really thick in his big head, bwafya

  2. Gentlemen has repair work on the independence stadium started already? Otherwise we risk playin qualifying matches in a foreign country. Anybody with the latest.

  3. Mbesuma needs someone like Kalu or his Agent to sit him down and talk to him on discipline. All his friends went back to their clubs on time.
On the stadium to be built by the Chinese that’s good news and this has been long over due.Don’t know whether capacity is 40,000(Times of Zambia) or 60,000(Daily-Mail)pls someone advice.60,000 would be idea cos we have a lot of people who stay home when the National team is playing cos of Capacity problems and safety reasons.

  4. If Mbesuma does not improve on his discipline, then Turkey is not the right place for him. The guys that side are really crazy, he will get his clubs fans on his back and he won’t like it. I know of Danish players who have run away from Turkey cause of the crazy fans. The fans there are capable of doing anythin, so he has to watch out. I mean if he likes his hometown Luanshya so much then he should join Roan United. I am getting tired of his indiscipline

  5. The gentle man from Windhoek in Namibia who wanted to know about the where abouts of Sashi Chalwe.Sashi has resurfaced in S.A he left his former club Bloemfontein Celtic to try his luck in Europe it seems things didn’t work out for him.Celtic who are currently topping the PSL offered to renew his contract but he refused saying he wanted to go try his luck in Europe. He is now at Fc AK a Mvela team where he is hoping to get a contract.

I also noticed those conflicting reports.
However, the Chinese deligation leader, on radio, said it is will be a 40,000 seater.

  7. Sunzu’s Tunisia deal fails
    By Kalumiana Kalumiana
    Tuesday September 18, 2007

KONKOLA Blades and Zambia Under-23 striker Felix Sunzu’s prospective deal to join Tunisian top-flight team Avenir de La Marsa has fallen through after unsuccessful trials with the North African club.

Sunzu had been attending trials at Marsa over the last month.
Blades chairman David Mubita said in an interview from Chililabombwe that Marsa failed to meet the club’s terms for them to release Sunzu after protracted negotiations.

“Their (Marsa) offer did not satisfy the minimum conditions we had set for both the player (Sunzu) and club (Blades),” said Mubita.
However, Mubita would not reveal how much Marsa were offering for Sunzu.

Mubita said Sunzu was currently on his way back to Zambia and was expected today but that Blades would still consider an improved offer from Marsa for the player.

  8. It is good news that a new stadium will be constructed in Ndola. Iam just worried about the capacity. Why a 40 000 and NOT a 60 000 seater? Soccer is the number one sport in the country and most fans will be denied the chance to watch international games.I wont rule out the possiblities of having perpetual stampedes on such a small stadium.

  9. Zambia to have Chinese-built stadium
    By Kennedy Gondwe
    BBC Sport, Lusaka

Teams might train in the stadium ahead of the 2010 World Cup
The Zambian and Chinese governments have signed an agreement for the construction of a 40,000-seater stadium in northern Zambia.
The signing ceremony follows a visit by a Chinese delegation to carry out feasibility studies at the construction site.

Delegation leader Zhang Zijun and Bizwayo Nkunika, the permanent secretary in Zambia’s ministry of works and supply, signed on behalf of the two governments.

The stadium, which will be constructed in Ndola in the Copperbelt province, will cost an estimated $70 million.

Sports minister Gabriel Namulambe said the country’s biggest-ever arena will be ready before the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

“The signing ceremony marks the beginning of the construction works,” he announced at the signing ceremony in Lusaka.

“This country will benefit from South Africa’s hosting of the 2010 World Cup if the stadium is completed.

“I am calling upon the private sector to come on board because we need a five-star hotel next to the stadium.”

Chinese ambassador to Zambia Li Qiangmin assured that the construction of the stadium would be completed before 2010.

But the signing ceremony will do little to cushion the nation’s current stadium crisis.

Zambia may play home matches away
Fifa has declared the Independence Stadium in Lusaka unfit to host matches, and Zambia may have to play their 2010 World Cup home qualifiers outside the country.

A parliamentary committee has also recommended the razing down of the stadium.

  10. These guys (Chinese) just built a 60,000 seater stadium for Tanzania why the can’t do the same for Zambia, i don’t know.Government should tell these guys what the want and not just sign.I believe we need a bigger capacity stadium than even our brothers in Tanzania 40,000 is just 5,000 more than 1ndependence stadium which i believe seats 35,0000.

  11. FAZ reprieves Nkana
    By Sports Reporter

DIVISION One North promotion chasing, Nkana’s home ground ban will be lifted at the start of next season instead of May 2008, the FAZ appeals committee that met in Lusaka last Friday has ruled.
This means that the ‘Kalampa’, the 2007 Coca-Cola Cup competition finalists, who were handed a 14-month ban from using their home turf would kick off their 2008 soccer season at their Nkana stadium.
The decision was arrived at during the committee meeting chaired by prominent Lusaka lawyer Chifumu Banda, David Phiri and veteran sports commentator Dennis Liwewe.
According to a statement released by FAZ general secretary Fidelis Banda in Lusaka yesterday, the committee decided, based on the grounds of the appeal, that it was inclined to tamper with justice and not mercy by varying the decision to close Nkana stadium for a period of one year by substituting it with the closure of the stadium to the current season only.
    The committee said the

  12. Lets look at the capacity issue of the so called stadium to be built.Infact almost all the stadiums we are having are not in good shape. There are many soccer loving Zambians,40 or 60 thousand stadium capacity won´t be enough for the soccer lovers.

  13. Ale nai mwe apa do not just talk make contributions of money to be added to what is there now and then the size will be increased to 110,000 seats, bunda bwa kulanda fye bafikala mule tasha

  14. 40,000 seats for the soccer loving zambians is too small bushe ni wiso ale lipila chitole chobe. Bafikala mwa ba awa kwa pumbwe mwe fyungu mwe

  15. Guys what on earth is wrong with Mbesuma. I once wrote on this blog that he is the last player to arrive in camp and the last one to depart for his club, he has done that year in, year out at kaiser Chief, Portsmouth , Maritimo and mow in Turkey. Too much into women like father. I can not see his career lasting long. he likes skirts so much, that will finish him off faster than he bacame a hero, no wonder he did not perform against BB.

  16. Gentlemen
I think we should be more concerned about the facilities that will be found at the stadium. The stadium must be able to host facilities for almost all spectator sports desciplines such as; a tartan track for athletics, indoor gymanasium for boxing, wrestling,JUDO hall and mats. I am surprised as to why ZAAA is so quiet about this project and yet over the years they have always attributed the failure by our athlets to win medals due to the lack of a tartan track to practice on.

  17. On another note though, thumbs up to the Chinese for the good gesture. By the way, everyone should be free to express their opinions. There is no Kapokola to tell others what they should or should not say. Although, I’m sure many will agree with me that splashing insults at people you don’t even know should not be tolerated hence in that regard everyone on this blog site becomes a kapokola. Regardless, two wrongs don’t make it right, however this guys went overboard and I lost it!

  18. We should be concerned no.1 of the capacity because we already have a stadium of 35,000 why just increase by 5,000 whether its a free stadium or not.Secondly we should look at the facilities that will be found at the stadium like # 27 has said, we also need a soccer training pitch next to the stadium to be used for training only.
The land that has been allocated for this project is big enough we have had a 35,000-40,000 seating capacity stadium for more than 40 years.Forty three years later we still want to build a stadium of the same capacity awe /batili(no)this is not right.Guys will be coming from Lusaka,Southern,Luapula etc and not forgetting the whole copperbelt for international games with the national team picking up a bit you tell me 40,000 is fine.

  19. BuzzEd this guy pops up once in a while with his nonsense some of us have learned to ignore him. When we reply to his stuff he knows hes getting attention.I don’t tolerate him by replying or reading his stuff.Don’t pay attention to his stupidity.

  20. I think Lusakatimes ought to introduce some sort of registration in order for anyone to make postings. Anway I hear there intentions to constract another Stadium i Livingstone, why not Lusaka?

  21. I think it is good to construct stadia outside Lusaka first. That will give room for our headstrong leaders to be forced to build one in Lusaka at a later stage. If they had started with Lusaka, your guess would be the same as mine; no urge could be there to construct stadia outside Lusaka!
