Minibus Conductor killed by ‘own’ bus

Share

A 23- year- old bus conductor died on the spot when a Lusaka bound Combs coach services Scania bus allegedly ran over him.

The Eastern Province Police chief explained that it is alleged that the late Victor Sichula was leaning against the door of the bus whilst it was moving and as the bus driver tried to avoid hitting into potholes the door opened pushing the bus conductor out. He said it was at this moment that the rear left wheels run-over him leaving him dead.

Mr. Mundene wondered why the deceased decided to stand by the door side when the bus was not full as it had only 34 passengers on board.

He said depending on the outcome of Police investigations, the driver of the bus will be arrested and charged for the offence of dangerous driving.

  1. …..HOW ABOUT ARRESTING GRZ/CITY COUNCILS FOR THE POTHOLES DEPENDING ON THE OUTCOME OF THE INVESTIGATION????

  2. excellent. to those who are careless death comes cheap. he has tasted a dosage of his own medicine.

  3. No.3 .Who gave you authority to talk bad about dead people ? i know what you are trying to say but alyways remember to respect the dead. His time is over and his life/soul is in Gods´hands. Rest in Peace my brother, you´re in a better place. Its hard out here!

  4. Bus conductors are a nuisance in Zed. One down, thousands to go!! When will this GRZ learn to put in place regulations for the travelling public to enjoy peaceful journeys, instead of harrassment from these so called Call-Boys?

  5. It is sad the the bus conductor had to die in such a manner.
By the way, not make this way of doing business illegal for bus operators, they young men are always in; half body inside and other in the bus…MAKE IT ILLEGAL FOR BUS CONDUCTORS TO BE SQUATTING ON BUS DOORS..PLEASE!! this is a matter of road safety!! Let the call boys sit inside the bus to conduct business….save lives..

  7. That’s sad. Conductors love to lean on doors and to perform fancy stunts while the bus is moving. They are too confident. Just yesterday, I saw one board a moving bus on a busy road! I don’t know how these pipo can be taught to respect life. Life is precious.

  8. dont condemn the conductor alone, your government is to blame for not putting in measures that prevent accidents, corruption also has killed your country, sad for the conductor

  9. Wena kanga Nyambe…say OUR government. Onafa ufeza kushungumana mwatulimba twakwa Zambia you want to label yourself a Briton forget it muchaha.

  10. It´s a pity that a life had to be lost in such a way.May the authorities look into it that things get better on our roads, though accidents do take, measures could be put in place to avoid any loss of lives. My heartfelt condolences to the family in these trying times.

  11. mr annoymous been called nyambe dont make me zambian i cant say our government when am serving another government,am serving the queen so my government is britain,i cant serve to masters.

  12. Enisha tate bo Nyambe mwaluswabisa. Nalikupepwa nisautwi mu Briton yabizwa Nyambe. Muswelikushungumanela fela makuwa kafo. It is not even a good land at all, wonder why you want to attach yourself to it. Only those who have never lived there can be cheated. Ape maLozi ba proud of where they come from, kono mina tate aluzibi.

  13. the issue is about a conductor been killed by his own bus,why are people shifting the topic?thats why u lozis are tribalist, including wena kanga lweendo from england, whats wrong with nyambe saying your government if he is not a zambian?wake up u lozis things have changed

  14. i feel pity for the conductor for the sake that his juts a youngman in his youth and yet die on duty, infact he was performing his duty whilst he died it doesnt matter how he stood in the bus but if its a common practice in an area then it had to be performed so this calls for our grz to create more jobs for ther youths as people dont hanve earns meat so they do any kind of job they can lay hands on.May God be with us all

  15. lweendo kindly stick to the topic and avoid attacking individuals and use english so everyone can understand,

  16. bo Nyambe: mwaluswabisa luna bana basilozi, nihaiba kuli mukwabukuwa. GRZ can not employ everyone and so other people have to find ways to survive like being a conductor. though i can not presume to know your story (ie: how you came to be in UK), i can know by your name that at some point in your history (or your father’s) you were indeed “zambian” and were in whatever way able to take advantage of circumstances to make life for yourself there. it is also quite possible that this now-dead conductor would have been there in uk doing exactly whatever it is you do, had he been afforded similar opportunities as you have. people do what needs to be done to survive and sometimes that includes risk

  17. bo Nymabe: your second comments about not “serving two masters” are also disturbing…. what self-respecting lozi/zambian/african/human continues in this day & age to “serve” any “master”? tell me we have moved beyond such self-limiting thoughts.

and if you are content to serve your master, tell me, what has your master done for you lately?

  18. if i was in the coverment i would put 95 persent of the buses off the road . Where have u see a passanger sitting on a stone pls can some one do some thing about all this these minbuses r not even fit for road worthy some one is making big time money pls just check. where r those RTS officers the bus has no sites no spear tyer no lights those for transit have sub stander head lights no window glasses doors not closing and so many other things pls pls pls RTS do some thing so these buses can now go to the grave yeard it has done its work and made enough money for the indians law should b that a bus should be on the road for 5 years only than off the road and lusaka will also look nice clean

  19. It not making sense,if the door openned and the guy was thrown out,how possible is it that the back tyres crushed the bus officer, iam sure there must be another story.traffic officers please go back to the scene and reconstruct the whole scenario, tyre marks, speed, safety of the passegers and the crew.if the door can open anytime even passegers are not safe.Any bus or truck even car owners every day before you start driving they is what is called physical inspection,if a driver fells the test suspend his or her drivers license, because safety of the people is number one before making money, why was the conductor falling over the place, was the bus overloaded? traffic officers pull surprise moves

  20. LT, YOU ARE GOING TO END UP LOSING READERS/BLOGGERS LIKE THE WAY POST NEWSPAPER IS SUDDENLY LOSING CUSTOMERS IF YOU CONTINUE TO IGNORE ADVICE TO REPAIR AND MAINTAIN YOUR WEBSITE. IN MOST CASES ITS INCREASINGLY DIFFICULT TO POST A COMMENT ON THE BLOG. FIX THE SYSTEM.

  21. It is possible for the rear tyres to have run over him if the driver was indeed dodging potholes, he could have swerved the bus.

  22. May his soul rest in peace. people don’t 4get dat everything has its own time what matters is where it happens and how, but the government shud strongly regulate traffic rules and maintain the roads its sad that he is gone this is life we’al destined to die so all we need right now is a steady heart beating and a wish and a prayer lets pray for our brother to rest in peace……..

  23. Didn’t you see that posting online about mental illness?? All the call boys are in that category.

Its Sad but nice at the same time that God takes of situations in different ways. From the way I Know Call boys, they are arrogant. Don’t know bout this one.

They run whilst the bus is moving!! Remember that!!

  24. It is an open secret that an uneffective or immature government will breed immature citizens as seen by the vast numbers of insane acts across Zed.

  25. #19 you are an *****. On this blog chaps have used Bemba and you have not said they are tribalists. Now when somebody uses Lozi. you label us tribalists! You ARE THE DAMN F..KING TRIBALIST. TO HELL WITH YOU! I am very proud to be Lozi. Abash tribalists

  26. 30. Entreprenuer, you must undertsnad that most call boys aint what they are bcoz they wnat to its bcoz of the situation in zed and poverty i here if they can make atleast 500pin a week just doing that job and more me that a real job to feed a family… dont judge a person from his outward look thoughi would agree with you on one point that there arogant

  27. these *****s should think b4 they stick their body on a freakin open door….genetically modified *****!!!!!!

africaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa…lol mwakulafwa muleshila ichalo ku liba koswe na ba quindi !!!!

  28. Nyambe! why dont u paddle with us in the nalikwanda so u get a true sense of belonging?

take this as official invitation. lol

  29. #9,are you human?Guys you need to respect the dead. The conductor did not wish to die, he’s too young. The GRZ, should work on the pot holes, they cause alot of accidents. We pay alot of road tax too.

  30. yes people need to respect the dead, its not his fault that he died like that, the GRZ with police should educate the conductors how to do thier job to avoid similar incidents in future

  31. kansas u asked what my master has done for me,she gave me free education and scholarship at uni,and a good job that am able to help my relatives in lusaka, what did chiluba did for u did he sell u a house in matero for 1pound?

  32. Bo nyambe, great that your master “gave” you “free” education and good job in UK. but i dont think in this world we live in, anyone can give for free. good your able to assist your family in lsk but as for me i know that you are doing something for your master there so that it trickles down to your family as you are saying. Why do you think i love kachiluba, him chiluba and his government at the time did nothing for me.I believe you got your scholarship through your had work and intelligence, you owe that to your self and your family, your british queen did not just come to matero and find you wandering amoungst so many boys & just pick you.

  33. bo nyambe (continued): there is much you had to have done to “earn” what you have. so all i am saying is that you owe that to no master or queen but rather only to yourself and your family. as for me? there is nothing chiluba or his friends have done on my behalf except perhaps stealing our country away from not only me but you, your family, my family, our friends… everyone but themselves. they also think they “got” something for “free” but “free” things are never free and someday they will pay…. and so too might you for what you think is your “free” education. so just be careful there, my brother.

  34. Bo Nyambe, you are in trouble….Guys you out of topic.Change the subject and forward constructive matters at hand. From the dead sure you now writing about Edu,presidents etc, that’s nonsense.

  35. Bo Nyambe, get off your high horse and be sensible. The queen never gives free things to anyone, particularly a blackman unless she’s absolutely sure payback is within arm’s reach. Take a serious audit of your life and gauge whether you’re netting any meaningful gains.

  36. zamquents – don’t worry. we’ll get back on the road soon, just trying to help our brother Nyambe remember where he comes from… and that the line separating him from that unfortunate bus conductor is not as wide as he may imagine.

  37. Bo Nyambe you have been brainwashed by the white man. Sure bo Nyambe you are just toiling so hard to make money which just ends up in paying for bills and just a little to yourself. I am sure bo Nyambe if you search your soul properly even the little money you send to your relatives in Lusaka is very painful to part away with. Bo Nyambe, right now I am in the UK and I am longing to go back home coz this life is nothing to write home about. Be proudof where you come from and don’t mislead the pipo who have never been here. There are very few foreigners regardless of qualifications that have good jobs hear in UK. It is the common factory, care jobs and cleaning jobs that everyone is into plus

  38. …terrible working hours. Back home we are free and proud. After testing this life, I now feel we are better off in our poverty as it makes us sane not what is happening around here. Konga kolisenda yebo mulozi shaa.

  39. MHSRIP
And then, how can a Scania door flung open just like that. I thought the doors for them to open they use pressure and controlled by the driver. And the way they open, when pressure is released, they detach from the main body and slide backwards. Maybe I don’t know other designs.

  40. lets talk about a bus conductor not attacking me,mwana musimbi if u r a cleaner dont think every one is,cos i have a bachelor in electronics and work for an international firm,do u expect me to quit and go back to zambia and get paid 800k?be realistic life in uk is better than zambia,i manage to help pipo do u think i can manage if i was in your country?and am not a zambian cos i was born here thou spend most of my life in zambia,MWANA MUSIMBI SEND ME CHIBWANTU WHEN U GO TO ZED U MUST BE A FUN PERSON

  41. Bo Nyambe my qualification is higher than yours, anyway amuutwi kubulelelwa. Enjoy yourself queen’s son. I will surely send you chibwantu coz you’re as finished as Sakwiba.

  42. #3,#30 you must feel sorry.that guy also wanted life .otherwise i will pray for you to change.dont just write for the sake of writing.be serious atleast 1% in life.

  43. MWABAUME KASHI CHABASHANI UKULAISHOBA I AGREE WITH NGAMBA #14.PLEASE LET THE GOVERNMENT LOOK INTO THIS MATTER BEFORE ALOT DIES.OUR BROTHER IS GONE I AM SURE IT WILL HAPPEN TO ANOTHER ONE GOVERNMENT MUST LOOK INTO THIS MATTER.MHSRIP

  44. Death knows no time, no place, no religious,no qualifications, no nationality, no colour, no tribe, no position. IT CAN STRIKE ANYONE, ANYWHERE, ANYTIME. So be careful how ridicule others over the animal called death.

  45. May his soul rest in peace, its so sad to see people talk about the dead like you guys are here for ever, mmmmmmm its a shame. And officers, some more investigations is needed on this case.somebody somewhere is not telling the truth.I pray for the family.

  46. Bo nyambe kanti kuzwela pili fokumwi kutisanga bwanganu kubabamwi, Sure mukuwa wakona ku mizizilikisa chwalo. Kona anekunani slavery. Mukuwa na lupumile and transfered us across the Atlantic. Unfortunately youse are what we call house nigger ma brother.

We don’t have road safety standards that are enforced in Zambia, so as a result bus conductors enjoy performing stunts which can turn out to be fatal.

  47. The death of a mini bus coductor is a reason to his fellow conductors and mini bus drivers who are fond of overloadind

  48. may your soul rest in peace ,jst for the reminder for the bus conductors who feel they can do anything on the road watch out and i wish ths guys cld read blog.

  49. Alo imwe guys!death knows nobody, when its your time to go u can even drown on a teaspoon,so lets not talk bad about the dead, that was tragic!

  50. PLEASE PLEASE!!!!!
If you can publish this story at bus stations it will help to educate them and they will be fearing to stand at the door half way in the other way out.

  51. #6 jabs. how do u know this guy is in a better place? i mean in heaven. not everyone goes to heaven. Heaven is a prepared place 4 prepared people.

  52. Even when it comes to voting these politicians we must vote for those who will work to preserve our lives. Pot-holes,poor water supply etc points to poor govornance. Our leaders should supply us with the infrastructure to is safe for our lives.
