Defence Minister, George Mpombo has condemned calls by some individuals to publish pictures of President Levy Mwanawasa in his hospital bed.
Mr. Mpombo says such calls are irresponsible and unjustified.
He observed that the publication of such pictures require the consent of a sick person.
The minister said this in Lusaka during commemorations to mark the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.
Mr. Mpombo also praised China for it’s continued support to the Zambian Defence Forces.
Chinese defence attache, Colonel Wang Zhiyong paid tribute to President Mwanawasa and Zambia for offering help to Chinese earthquake victims in June.
Colonel Wang said the Chinese People’s Liberation Army appreciates help from friendly countries like Zambia.
China last June experienced a major earthquake which killed more than ten thousand people and left hundreds of thousands more homeless.

It seems its true that Mpombo is the official Acting President whose appointment documents have been hidden for purpose of unity , Mulongoti recently dismissed suggestions from certain sections of Zambians that LPM left instruments of power for Mpombo.
Why is RB not being refereed to as Acting President, when in the past acting presidents have been refereed to that including Dr Chituwo who once acted as Acting President in the presence of a VP.

Our contractual graduities have been pending for a long time including terminal benefits, passages and long service bonuses. #114,115 Black South African are the most horrible people in Africa,belive me!They hate only other black peole and embrace whites.Indians and Chinese,they suffer from severe inferiority complex.I spent 5 years there,it was a waist of time.I am many times more free living in UK where blacks are few!I advise all Zambian not to migrate to RSA but instead try Europe,Amarica and Australia far much better!!

THREE helicopters hovered over the palace as people gathered outside cheered wildly. The helicopters disappeared and shortly after, a group of people made a bee-line to the palace.
Soon, it was learnt that one of the helicopters carried a King known as Mwitiyanvu from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) who came to witness one of Zambia’s longstanding prestigious traditional ceremonies.
The scene was at senior Chief Mwata Kazembe’s palace in Mwansabombwe in Luapula Province. The gathering was the Umutomboko ceremony which is known as a passionate dance of conquest performed by his royal highness Mwata Kazembe Kapale Mpalumena Mpemba II

The president is very unwell,as we all know,and for some of us with internal sources can confirm that it will be a while before he is discharged and even after being discharged he can never be president or rather resume offical duties as president.For those in the medical profession you will know what a tracheostomy is and why it’s done.The man can’t even breathe on his own.Reminds me of Ariel Sharon,who today is still ‘alive’.LPM is just academically alive.A debate should be allowed to look into a replacement according to the remits of the constitution.There is nothing insensitive,while we sympathise and pray for the first family,for Zambians to discuss and if anything seek a new leader

Whilst we here are praying for LPM quick recovery, Maureen is busy collecting reading materials, and concentrating on her studies in France. What a wife to have!!!
