  31. may hi s soul rest in peace great man indeed our country was becoming a better place. what does the 7 days national mourning entell? i will surely miss you. even though we knew he may never come back HOPE kept us praying.

  32. My heartfelt condolences to all the people of Zambia. Its my sincere hope that peace and tranquility will prevail as we mourn this great son of Africa!!!

  33. Fellow Zambians, the passing of the president has brought us to a stop at which point we have to look where we are from and assess where we want to go. Our late president did what he could to bring Zambia where it is. Now is the time when we should all seriously consider our future. All Zambians would need to be sincere and not be bought by pieces of silver, lest we bring back the days of Pharao, “Chiluba , Katele, Machungwa to name but a few” May our lord God open our minds and eyes so that we can all see and select the right man to continue leading our beloved country, Amen.

  34. All you bloggers sound like you have got sense just a while ago you were very convinced the president died as thoug all was ok and now that he has died here you are sending good messages of condolences

  35. Thank God for small mercies. Your stay at the Paris hospital has cost us US$2,250,000 -00. The cost for the morgue and flight back to Zambia is inconsequential. Rest in peace Mr President.

  36. XHTML, #3 is ok. Its fine to feel more of relief than sorrow. we had been kept in suspense long and the good man LPM was troubled enough by these guys who wanted to tell it at their own tym. otherwise the man deserved not to be kept like that – he needs to be put to rest. He really brought sanity in this country and quite good development but to keep him in watever state he was all this while (dead most likely) and keep us in suspense was not right. It is sad for sure but we are relieved at least we know some truth -MHSRIEP

  37. We mourn this dignified son of the soil. In all this we thank you Lord for taking our president now and in this manner. Help us to accept your will father and keep us united. Zambians! Levy’s passing does not change what we have been and what we stand for, PEACE. Let us unite and be peaceful as we always have been. God is good all the time. When all is done and said, we shall surely emerge victorious. For the bereaved family, always remember that God is in control and he is the father to the fatherless and a husband to the widowed. Muone kabotu beshi Chipo mumansa a Lesa.

  38. Biggie, its a blow, may his soul rest in peace and strength to the family from above Jah,Peace to all Zambians as we send the biggi across.

  39. We have indeed lost a true & brave statesman who attempted to restore & improve the wellbeing of our people. Hope his ministers will not go ahead with the proposed salary hikes!!

  40. condolences. NOW WE SHALL SEE “NATIONAL PROPERTY GRABBING” BY THESE SELFISH LEADERS. NO WONDER THEY WERE FIGHTING FOR SALARY INCREAMENTS. wE PRAY FOR PEACE IN OUR BELOVED COUNTRY.

  41. I conquer with comment 12.
indeed the man did the best out of his ability and he shall be missed. MHSRIP.
My deepest sympathy goes to the family and my fellow citizens.

  42. Country men, finally government has annouced the death of LPM even if it has taken them so long. I have always believed that the man died along time ago. Am very bitter about the death of LPM more especially that his selfish ministers capitalised on his illness. What will Mpombo and Mulongoti say now that the vice President has annoucenced that LPM is dead? Are we still going to castigate Dr. Manda, Dr. Chitowo and Teta?

  43. #44,YOU ARE A VERY PROGRESSIVE AND FARSIGHTED PERSON,INDEED LEVY SHOULD BE CELEBRATED NOT ALL THESE PITY PARTIES IM READING ON THE BLOG.ALL THOSE WHO APPRECIATE WHAT THIS MAN DID FOR THE YEARS HE SERVED,IE,TAKING THE THE CORRUPT BULLS BY THE HORNS,SHOULD GIVE HIM ALL THE FUNERAL THAT HE DESERVES. LETS REMEMBER HIM BY REPLACING HIM WITH ANOTHER COURAGEOUS LEADER. KUBUTONGA ECOTULISHISHA INGOMA NO SHANA NGAPAFWA UMWAUME.

  44. bad news indeed. how else are we going to thank you for sacrificing so much, your health even, for the betterment of Zambia apart from just praying that who ever will take over will posses the same qualities, or even better? country men and women, let’s continue praying and hoping that these politicians (bbofwas) will behave themselves. no power hungry-lions in all aspects.

  45. #48, I had something to say thats why I opened my mouth. Disrespecting..? Are you sure? This is a democracy Im intitled to say what I want….Keep posting.

  46. May His Soul Rest IN Peace!

May the Lord’s Light shine upon the Family and Country as a whole. Awaiting for the Funeral Program.

  47. GOD BLESS THE MWANAWASA FAMILY.
    LEFT A LEGACY.

WE DON’T NEED PLUNDERERS TO TAKE OVER THE REIGNS OF THIS BLESSED COUNTRY. KATELE AND MACHUNGWA AWAWEEEE! TWA KANA!

  48. LPM RESTY IN PEACE WE SHALL TRULLY MIS YOU. SOME OF US IT TOOK A LONG TIME TO ACCEPT YOU AS OUR LEADER BUT EVENTUALY WE DID.
HOW SAD THID SITUATION HAS COME OUT TO BE.

    WHAT NEXT FOR ZAMBIA

  49. RIP LPM. Pliz keep yr sentences short. long “speeches” are boring. my condolences to the 1st family and the nation at large

  50. None of the news channels has covered this important news save for the usual headlines at the bottom. The focus is on Brussels NATO summit. But today marks a very important date in our Zambian history as it is the passing of our great statesman.
#71Don’t worry about the cost because Levy sacrificed his own life which can never be quantifiable.

  51. Levy was a very courageous leader with a very good vision for this country. Its sad that he died at the time when we needed him most. We just need to maintain the peace we have always enjoyed and facilitate a peaceful transition. Nachibipa sana. And the best we can do is remain united. MHSRIP. Condolences to Maureen and the family. We will surely miss you Levy.

  52. May his soul Rest in Peace….Dr. Mwanawasa will be remembered as country man who put Zambia first and dedicated to the rule of law and peace….

  53. Go well ba Levy, you fought a decent fight! Fellow bloggers & nation at large, let us unite & ensure that we have a peaceful and smooth transition.

  54. I loved you like my father,LEVY
I loved you as my leader,PATRICK
    My President,MWANAWASA
    You dared us to dare…
Integrity, thrift and honesty shall be your name,
You had to leave in a far away place…far from home Beshi Chipo
At home I can hear your voice…slurred but sure,
If we dare forget your counsel we shall recall Levy
    Mweende cibotu omunene

  55. My heart aches and is torn apart I feel so much sorrow, sadness at least he shold have come back home alive we would have seen him one last moment waving at us. How sad how painful.

  56. I feel so sad. I’ve never been into politics or even political affairs in general, bati Chankalipa big time mwandini.

  57. Zambia has lost, Africa has lost, the World has lost. One of the few brave enough to stand against Mugabe and show he was no puppet to Chiluba. May Your Soul Rest In Peace. May the good Lord be with the family in this time of mourning.

Let us carry foward the candle you lit, the light you brought to what once appeared a hopeless situation. We celebrate your life.

  58. too bad, i guess we were preparing ourselves pscologically for any eventualities and the prayers hellped. we will mourn in peace. Though 7 days only for national mourning of presidents??

  59. My deepest Condolences to the Mwanawasa Family! Dr. Mwanawasa lived a heroic life and will long be remembered as a noble politician who put the nation before his self interest. Throughout his tenure he championed good governance, accountability and politics of compromise. I would be most humbled to be awarded an opportunity to write a book about his rich life!

  60. May the soul of Levy rest in peace, he will be greatly missed and remembered as a man who did his best (worked with wrong tools) but managed to fight corruption.

  61. obvious kaChiluba, akafyashi kalecelebreta. the next leader continue dealing with the killer of many souls….

  62. Its not an easy thing losing a father in the house, let alone in the nation. This is dark cloud over Zambia.May your soul rest in Peace ba Levy

  63. I was still recovering from shock, “you never know the use of the good things until you lose, them” I never imagined for once that we would be victms of such a natural cause that is always new to man. Condolences to the first family and the MMD for this loss at this time when the nation needed him to consolidated the culture of integrity that this great son of the soil had started. Like someone said, this is the time to celebrate this great man’s life who apparently started practsing law the year I was born. Can we all focus in our grief on the good times we shared with our President, two things come to mind, in 2002 while opening parliament addressed a special session on the plunder matrix

  64. The Lord gives and the Lord takes …may His name be praised! we thank You God and our Father for having given us such a bold and courageous president as our LPM. Lord you gave us and you have taken away who are we to not praise you and bless your name for how you led us through our dear LPM? We plead strength and guidance to the whole nation of Zambia and in particular to his direct family. Lead us into calm and stability in the name of Jesus. Like Job in the bible prayed even though He (God) slays me (or allows me problems) yet will i trust Him. you are our only hope and pillar – be our guide in this tym. AMEN

  65. Even in these tough times. We’ll thank God for giving us the best leader. We once ask GOD for his mercy, guidance and obove all peace and unity among his people. Father in the name of the holy spirit, we ask that you provide a leader, a leader that is God fearing and has a heart for many Zambia.
Through Jesus the son we ask.

    Amen!!!!

  66. Where is Mpombo??? And his information from Paris on a daily basis? He told us Chituwo was lying so now MR MPOMBO speak we want to hear you

  67. Sad news indeed we will miss you ba Levy. May you rest in peace. Maureen look unto God, He will not let you down iam not saying you should start moving with Kavindele. We will show the world that us Zambians are peace loving people.

  68. #107 I had a feeling this announcement was among the reasons UNZA was closed in the first place. It’s been kind of a tradition for govt. to orchestrate a UNZA closure amid major political pronouncements.

    MYSRP LPM.

I feel very sad…failing to concentrate on my work.

  69. Very sad news indeed for all Zambians. However,it has been in the offing. All bloggers have had a dig at the ‘stable’ latest updates we got from government but when it’s confirmed, one’s heart does get touched and suddenly the sinking feeling dawns unto us and we are reminded just how fragile and withering life is.MHSRIP

  70. i repent and regret for the names i called you Levy!! now i love you more in death, you are better in death than in life! Forgive me Lord for all the bad things I said against levy! MHSRIP!!!

  71. Now the drama starts watch out for the vultures and knock them down at first sight. Rest in peace LPM your have run your race with honour.

  72. Grief beyond words. Your leadership style was truly apart from what we have seen in Zambia this far. Sheer determination, uprightness and boldness locally and regionally. We all have our weaknesses… it’s just that while we have been lurking in the shadows, you were in the spot-light all the time. I pray to GOD that the strong governance institutions you have left behind shall not buckle at the behest of plunderers, opportunists and chancers. We serve a GREAT GOD, He gave us a great Leader and He will not fail us now. May GOD comfort the Mwanawasa family. MHSRIEP.

  73. YOU WERE REALLY A GOD SENT LEADER LMP MAY YOUR SOUL REST IN PEACE. I WILL MISS YOUR LEADERSHIP GREATLY!

  74. YOU WERE A GREAT LEADER AND WILL BE GREATLY MISSED BY ALL

    Till we meet again.

  76. Contd 119… and the Mugabe stance during the SADC summit last year, he was a firm and a man of integrity.

  77. MR MPOMBO AND MR MULONGOTI THOT LYING TO THE ZAMBIAN PEOPLE WOULD SAVE MWANAWASA, BUT HEY GOD HAS SET TIME FOR EVERYONE. MR MPOMBO BE BRAVE ENOUGH SO YOU SEE THAT TENTAMASHIMBA WSA RIGHT YOU SHOULD THINK LIKE A LIVING BEING AND NOT A DEAD OBJECT. YOU SEE NOW YOU ARE CAUGHT NAPING. WE NEED MORE OF YOU COMMENTS MR MPOMBO AND MR MOLONGOTI

  78. MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE.
MY HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY AND THE COUNTRY AT LARGE.

  80. it as unfortunate that we have lost such a good leader
we ask almight God to provide us a good leader
may his soul rest in peace

  81. I got the sad news after seeing Nigeria triumph 4-1 against Belgium at the Olympics to match to the finals. The passing of our dear Bashi Chipo is a dark day for our country. I did shed a tear and felt at a loss. Like others have said, he indeed brought a new sense of political leadership on the scene full of integrity though sadly his cabinet whilst he was sick tried to lose that in their infamous pay rise, of course with a big eye on their gratuity. Take a rest LPM and best wishes to the first family and the citizenery at large in this difficult time. We are all together.

  82. Possible Presidential Hopefuls

    Rupiah Banda

  83. Well Levy even as your spirit returns to the creator am pretty sure God is smiling down and saying my son you put up a gallant fight now come back home and rest. God never does things without a soloution. When David passed on there was Solomon and he proved to be a great leader. I know pipo will want to capitalize on your death but even as you leave we are believing the Lord will raise a leader after his own kind. Therefore fellow country men and women be still and know that he is God

  84. My fellow bloggers, don’t answer to any stupid comments, by so doing an ***** will keep quite. We are now mourning how on earth does one starts foolish comments? I luv you all.

    ‘Rest in Peace Son”

  88. My thoughts to the first family. As citizen we have a responsibility to maitain peace during and after the mourning period. Thereafter we have to show the current MPs who the real bosses are; employ a new president.

  95. MYSRIP LPM. In death though he is a man like any other who dreamed, loved and hoped for a long life and whom his family will dearly miss. Am praying for the family.

The writing was on the wall and it really shouldn’t have been drawn out this far. The test will be show whether we a country ruled by laws or by low men. Praying for mother Zambia from a distance, and mourning a man I neither voted for nor supported but whom I miss in his death because he meant well and did what he could for the country albeit often with a considerably condescending attitude towards our voice – the voice of us so called ‘common people’.

  96. My deepest condolences to the first family and all the zambian people

I deeply avail this trying moment to the ALMIGHTY GOD

May his soul rest in peace

Actually there are so many things we will remember your for. punishing the plunderers being one of them!! RIP:)

  101. May you rest in erternal peace, you shall be dearly missed but you will also be remebered for your tough stance on corruption, other truths will come out, like the farmily tree, if it ever really existed all it was just your ditractors who cooked up the story. May the good lord give your farmily the srength to carry on in this hour.

  102. The best of us are yet but a fleeting shadow

The mortal succumb and fly away soon

At the bidding of him who holds sway

  106. Ok People, There is a seven days of national mourning after which all the political parties will start campaigning for the position of presidency which should be filled by end of February next year.

During this time, Rupiah Banda will be acting president, and anybody in the MMD mighty challenge him to stand for the party’s presidential position.

    levy mwanawasa
    michael sata
    hikainde hichilema
    and the rest…….

  114. I just began liking you, i wonder why we humans (africans) do not give each other flowers while we can still smell them.never the less i wish to salute you for the wrongs and most imporatntly the achievemnet you did for this country and in particular for me as a citizen of Zambia.2 pac said the good die young and god bless the dead. Till we meet again rest in peace

  115. To be, or not to be: that is not the question:
tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of Levy’s unfortunate demise,
for he had set the country on the right track

  116. Many will come but they will e few like you Levy. Rest In Internal Peace

  117. #194 RB will not be around any more. Chief Justice takes over as per Constitution then Mulongoti sinks into the ground never to be heard of again.

  118. Condolences to the first family and the nation at large.

As a nation lets remain remain calm but in calmness lets move forward.

Levy did his part well for mother zambia, its upto us now to get the relay button and move the country to the next stage.

Levy-hearts off and may your soul rest in peace

  119. May Your Soul Rest in Peace your excellency. You were such a good leader and it my prayer that the Lord gives us another leader like yourself who is going to put the people of Zambia first before himself and who is going to continue with the fight against corruption in Zambia. Rest well. Zambians, lets unit and we shouldn’t allow these plunders to come back in office!

  120. Very sad development for the nation of Zambia. My sincere condolences to Maureen and the family.

Just pray for God’s strength and direction as we pass through a very difficult time as a nation.

It is a time of level headedness from all politicians and not chaos

  121. He died a long time ago, Zaza said it thats why he was untouchable and am sure he was threatened had he said more. They closed UNZA so that students don’t riot when they finally announce, They handed over SADC Chairmanship because they were ready to finally tell the nation that he is no more. RB says that his condition has worsened and in a few hours says he has died. The condition cannot worsen apopene nofufwa umuntu afwa in less that 24 hrs

  122. The usual praises when a person dies right! Ba zed ama cheecky! We all know he was blinding us that he was fighting corruption while he inceased our taxes so that we cushion the tax for the investors who were buying him houses in England and building chingola University in India.
Our universities have not seen more graduations than closures and policy brutality in his time and yet he was a good man tefyo!
Ilitracy levels have gone up because copper exports are NOT taxed to subsidise primary and secondary education for me and others that cant afford to pay ZMK80,000.
This is time to review our system and come up with a less powerful and intimidatory presidential office through the constituti

  124. It is a sad day for our mother Zambia to loose a great leader
Dr Levy Patrick Mwanawasa state councel
we are going to miss him greatly
may his soul rest in peace

  125. so what has happened to he is recovering and the doctors are happy with his progress? it was a bunch of lies all of it.

  126. 195 you are right. Give roses when one can see and appreciate them. some are sayin it just for show and yet they are happy LPM is gone. Those that said good when he lived are justified to still say so now – there is no harm. But the truth is guys Levy tried, there has been none like him. He found the nation all messed up and to bring us to this sanity …honestly guys

  127. It is indeed sad for our country but I believe God is in control and has mother Zambia’s interest at heart. The good book says ‘he will never leave us nor forsake as’,so fellow moaners, lets moan with hope knowing that our Father in Heaven who is above all powers, above every wisdom of man will see us through it all. This is my humble appeal to all.Even as we have always enjoyed peace so we will even this time. God has a man already.Lets just committe everything to him and continue praying so that we vote wisely.it shall be well or best put,it is wel!!

  128. Rest in peace Dr Mwanawasa. It is very difficulty to believe you are gone. God should have given you more years. Anyway life is like that sometimes. We will always remember your contributions to mother Zambia. Long live fight against corruption! Long live Zambia!

  129. I think this happened some time back not today, it looks like it was all arranged to give time for the state to make security arrangements. Rest in Peace, Mr President, and all the best to the Mwanawasa family.

Levy was just a man like anybody else. He had his strengths and weaknesses. He has done his part. This was his destiny. I will say thank you to him for his time as the President of Zambia. Time will tell us what kind of leader he was. His many achievement was to maintain the peace that we have up to the end of his Presidency.

  130. I hope babulu wont sampa goods at plot 1 becoz most of the things are for grz!

ZESCO pls dont load shed any area in Lsk so that we mourn our presdo in light not in darkness (twapapata sana)!!

  131. You diligently served this Country and all humanity without borders. Yours was with integrity and passion. We gave your Presidency the best from the platform of patriotism. Peace to your soul and Grace to the family.

    Unwaveringly we salute you!

  132. May Our dear LPM’s soul rest in eternal peace.
May the almighty God take care of the Mwanawasa family and enable a peaceful atmosphere prevail in our beloved and only mother ZAMBIA during this saddening and tempting moment.

  133. Sincere condolences to all Zambians in general and President Mwanawasa’s immediate family, in particular.

    # 163 – Are you a fool?!!!!!! Surely not in this day and age. Wise up man, you are still in the dark ages.

  134. Its sad to lose such a dedicated leader. He put back hope in the economy.
Lets remain united in this trying moment, as for us abroad, we pray for you as we strive to gain the knowledge needed to help our country, mother Zambia

  135. # 174 you must be a forieigner who is a chipumbu. If you mean what you are saying “ukanwina weka” because Zambia has never been a boat. A true Zambian can not wish whart you are saying. Kumwenu naga umo afwa mulapena?

  136. what happens next. And what the seven days national morning mean. No cpominfg for work or………..its onlt gthe people mu boma??

  137. MY YOUR SOUL REST IN PEACE COMRADE AND MAY THE GOOD LORD GIVE STRENGTH TO THE FIRST LADY AND THE CHILDREN. WE WILL MISS YOU.

  138. #214 Kaponya you are right. his own death is proof of how much he refused to share power so that he had just enough he could handle. was it necessary for him to travel to each and every meeting or conference or whatever it was? wat makes me sad is that it seems he had no advisers especially where his health was concerned or may be he never listened to them him being what he was.

  139. Oh no! Mpombo where are you? I want to hear from you.RUBBISH!
Personally i have lost a man of honour and dignity. No one be like him.May his soul rest in peace!

  140. A Great loss to our Republic.

He fought against corruption, government by rule of law. He brought trust to the goverment and respect for human rights in security forces in Zambia..What a loss!! Mwanawasa would stop even this cabinet salaries

Dr. Mwanawasa will be missed and condolences to the first family…Zambians lets us salute our President and give his the best last dance..Go well Mwanawasa..lawyer of lawyers..

MMD, please let the people mourn in peace, no politics yets over this issue…Mlongoti,Katele & Mpombo please do not fight in public over statement…keep quite for God’s sake

Go well Mwanawasa!! Zambia misses you!

  141. may his soul rest in peace.there is time for every thing, time to be born & to die.As chritians lets continue praying for another leader.

  142. According to wikipedia, on July 7 RB told the nation that LPM was in a stable condition,on July 8 he said he said the operation was a success. On july 11 RB said he said the doctors were happy with progress. on July 24 the same RB told us that LPM was recovery well. On August 18 RB announced that LPM was in a serious condition. Can RB explain the turn of events and why yesterday he made a dramatic u-turn? was a leak on LPM on the way?

  143. May his soul rest in peace. Lets unite and pray to God to give us strength. Batata baya bayalala bayalalae kumbo takuya babwela. WE LOVED YOU GOD BLESS THE PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA. Amen

  144. Sad news indeed, ichibumba chaya yeee!zambia and africa at large has lost a brave and great leader who worked tirelessly to bring down the levels of coruption in our beloved country[zambia].as for africa he worked hand in hand with so many leaders, except chi mugabe indoshi yakantu.Ba Lpm may your soul rest in enternal peace.

  145. #214 Kaponya walasa wechena !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We need someone with a heart for the people not pretenders, plunders and hoodwinkers.Someone ready to turn this country around for the good of the Zambian people. Nomba ninani oyo wine bane??????

  146. chibombamilimo received a message from God about our late president. he became the prophet.

i am sure chibombamilimo you will soon be forgotten you papets who were making political mileage over our late good president.

  147. Ama guys niba mbuli sana they thot they would keep telling the Nation lies Lesa nimalyotola how could you have kept such a big thing hidden Bushe guys imwe mulatotonkaya zoona nomba twalamimona icibemba cilanda ati nkome kacema ne mpanga shikafulumuka you guys are cowards you even run away when there’s nothing chasing you. Ba Mulongoti landeni kabili tumone arrogance yenu.

  148. Listen Khondowe @ 206,

You need to read Article 38 of the constitution. THe chief justice does not take over. Ruphiah Banda will continue to act until the presidential vacancy is filled with six months.

Khondowe, you need to be very careful because partial knowledge is very dangerous….thats what causes romours and confusion.

  149. I am at loss with words
    How can this be?
    I am eaten at heart.
So Levy has finished his course?
I thought it was to be in 2011!
But this is life I suppose
Well I remember him as the “steak”
I can recollect him as being in the new deal
He led the prosecution of the untouchables
He surprised us by forgiving the un-forgiveble
He dared where only eagles dare
But now he has flown to worlds unknown
    But Zambia still lives
    Beautified by his legacy

  150. Very sad indeed May His Soul Rest in Peace. May God help us to choose a Successor to him who truly has the interests of the country at heart.

  151. # 231 He had no one to advise him about his poor health. Remember last elections we had didn’t you see Maureen campaigning on his behalf at Freedom Park when he had no strength left. Now you know why he could not step down. We all know who pushed him to the limit.

  152. mmd what do u say about tetas commeet hmm,u thot keeping quiet would save the party now u need to organise urselves no more pay rise pf ruling next year.mulongoti Mpombo kayaaaaaa.

  153. #3 ABD 45 As much much as you are entitled to youe own opinion I think it is necessary that you find asoft spot in your hearts. This is a time to mourn. Do you ever die in your families? You are full of hate. Let us mourn our beloved President in a mature manner.

  154. This is really a big blow, may his soul rest in peace!!

How i wish we cud just put our tools down and mourn our president with all our heart and strength during this period!!

  155. To all those ministers who were misbehaving on account of being related to the first family, you are in trouble for sure. Especially Jonas Sakafufwa. So who do you think you are?

    Mwanawasa rest in peace!

  156. Just like the stars disappear in the morning, fading away in the light of the sun,a decent soul and son has been taken away again from amongst the flock.even amidst such a scenery its not uncommon to find disgruntled people trying to post unwarranted comments well fetched to cause more harm to us.its my prayer that a spirit of sound mindedness will rise above board to help us understand that what has happened isnt anything to celebrate about but a tyme of much reflection and not Idi/ego led reasoning advancement period.YOU NEVER MISS THE WATER TILL YOUR WELL RUNS DRY.rest in peace my dia president knowing pretty well that we shall miss you highly.

  157. It is indeed a sad development for our nation Zambia. We have lost a great leader who worked hard for the betterment of country and our people. May your soul rest in peace LPM we will greatly miss you.

  158. Sorry Miriam, chabipa boi inkogole walashilepila shani? sorry wellcome to our club.. we lost our parents yrs back,,, i know how painful it is ….u are in my prayers….be stronge its not easy.

  159. The lord God gives and takes away,Levy you will continue to live in my heart and your place will always be reserved.you have gone fighting ,you have died a warrior and you put zambia and whole world first b4 u and you health and family.Levy I might not have agreed with all your opinions but i believe you were trying and doing your level best and at times you were misled by some selfish people.I sign up by putting everything in God s hands and ask for his intervention.MYSRIP

  160. It is a time of mourning and not time to trade insults. LPM is no more and therefore let us mourn the way we mourn as Zambians. Whether we liked him or not, God allowed that he be our president.

  161. it is sad that our man has gone to rest in peace while us zambians argue back and forth. lets keep this blog sensible and not talk about things that are not beneficial. let us unite in this trying time and choose credible leaders for our nation. definetly not mpombo, magande ,mulongoti and this current crop of MMD leaders

  162. It is a sad development indeed, for the many Zambians and especially the first family. I wish you God grace and support. I will miss HE Dr LPM for his position on the fight against corruption. Zambia needs someone who will continue from where LPM has ended and not one who will come to experiment. Let the vision 2030 be the guide for any person to succeed HE Dr LPM. My heart weeps, MYSRIEP

  163. #250 i hope you are not suggesting maureen. am not her fan but i think levy should have put his foot down. unfortunately like most stubborn people, he didnt know when to use his stubborness. there are lots of lessons to learn from this whole mess. one is that when you a leader, know when to let go.

  164. Good bye Levy Sleep well in the lord’s hand we shall meet in the morning at the sea of glass. Those that die in the lord just lay asleep and at the at appointed time they will resurrect and its my sincer prayer ba Levy that we will meet again and sing the song of freedom and victory.Amen

  165. My deepest condolences goes to the first lady, the Govt of the republic and the people of Zambia. My God guide Zambia in this trying period and may his soul rest in eternal peace.

  166. Sad ablt this. May you rest in eternal peace. Maureen wakomena mama… remain hard working and look after yourself well. Please don’t rush into marriage with the friends to Levy especially Diplomats, pls refrain you are already a Hero on your own. Mourn in peace

  167. Condolences, may his soul rest in peace.Levy was a true leader although we are human beings with a lot of mistakes, levy tried his best to put zambia on track.am not MMD but i must give credit where it is due. Hope you enjoy the kingdom of God. Sadly missed.

  168. Hey! Mpombo the ducker & Mulongoti the hypocrite,Listen to me & listen good! You ‘ve been playing with our intelligences but time has finally come for you to Repent, Exculpate and if anything give us enough reasons why We Zedians should not cut your throats throw you into da dungeons! MAY THE SOUL OF OUR GREAT FATHER REST IN PEACE!

  169. MHSRIP
as a medical professional am glad Dr Chituwo told the truth and made us have peace in the most of sad situations.
the truth will always set us free.looking up to what next is such a night mare perhaps lets just mourn for now.
    God Bless Zambia.

  170. #262 Tomorrow it will be you, Lesa ni malyotola, You will die in a house fire tonight, unless you decide to spend night in a bar to celebrate the passing of Levy. “We mbwa wee.. mwapwa bana babanenu kulowa, uliwachabe chabe shinka your ass-hole swaini!!” Remember imfumu taifwa yeka..

  171. Your Excellence rest in peace, i wish maureen and the family Heavely comfort and Gods blessings. We thank God because for you property grabbing aint applicable.

  172. Today will go down in our country’s history as one of the saddest moments…LPM has given us the first experience of a head of state dying in office, and it’s not a pleasant experience. I agree with 276 that we mourn him in peace and with a sense of dignity & humility. May his soul rest in eternal peace…..God bless Zambia…Peace

  173. My Deepest condolences to the first family and all fellow countrymen. At no time did we ever have banks chasing for our signatures in order to give us loans. It was only possible under Levy. This was the strongest indicator of how our economy has improved.
    MHSRIP

  174. #271, chibomba milimo said that he had recieved the message from God that he should tell zambian that mwanawasa will be fine soon and take up his position as a president.

  175. Sad indeed that he had to die this way and so far away from home. One big lesson Zambians should learn from this tragic event is that it was for a purpose that all people aspiring for the highest office in the land have to be of sound mind and health. Levy was clearly not of sound health and I blame Chiluba for engineering his route to power and in the process having him die this way. The bench ought to now be responsible and not allow characters like Sata who are clearly of fragile health and mind to run for president otherwise we are headed for another state funeral. May Levy RIP.

  176. #254, nachilanda ati “Twalilosha akale, nechikonko chalipwa”. whats the problem with that? We all knew this was coming. We had an idea that LPM wouldnt come back alive when the first rumour came out that he was dead. I cried then and them anouncing today that he is dead wasnt a shock, so Im not crying. Whats so hard about me having my lunch at 11:00hrs when lunch time is at 13:00hrs? We will all have to die some day.

  177. Bloggers: Article 38 of our consitution states ” If the office of the President becomes vacant by reason of death….., an election to the office of the President shall be held in accordance with article 34 within 6 months from the date of the office becoming vacant. Further it states that ” whenever the office of the President becomes vacant, the Vice President or in the absence of the Vice President……a member of Cabinet elected by Cabinet….shall perform the functions of the office of President until a person elected as per Article 34 assumes office.

  178. I don’t have many words to say. I can only say that God gave and God has allowed it that he be separated from us. In His own infinte wisdom, God knows why this must be so….. Levy rest in peace….

  179. With LPM passing away, we are like sheep without a sheperd ready to be devoured by Wolves. I pray things remain calm in Zambia and that we mourn with dignity and integrity. This has to be one of the most somber days for Zambia as a whole. I salute you Levy and may God have mercy on your soul. RIP your Excellency

  180. I feel very angry with the Zambian government for not coming clean about what the hell was going on here France until yesterday. Shame on you all *****s. You kept lying to the Zambian people that the president was recovering well when you knew he was in extremely bad shape..!!!!! Now you see …. ba stanioko imwe …..

  181. The man of the People has run his race and fought the battle on behalf of the Zambian People. It is without doubt that his good works will follow him. In the resurrection morning, we hope to behold him at the Sea of Glass where the saints shall gather to sing the song of Moses and the Lamb, a song that the angels will not sing, the song of Amazing Grace.

To his family, I pray that they remain strong and focused on what they future holds and faithful to his ideals. And to the leaders of our nation, let there be peace in our nation as the world looks upon Zambia with sorrow and mourn with us.

May His Exellency Rest in Peace.

  182. The lord God gives and takes away,Levy you will continue to live in my heart and your place will always be reserved.you have gone fighting ,you have died a warrior and you put zambia and whole world first b4 u and your health and family.Levy I might not have agreed with all your opinions but i believe you were trying and doing your level best and at times you were misled by some selfish people.I sign up by putting everything in God s hands and ask for his intervention.MYSRIP

  183. This very sad news indeed. May his soul RIP. Im sorry to go of topic but im wondering why do we now have a Zimbabwen running this country??

  184. I loved immitating your stamer, i will greatly miss you Levy you did a lot amidst great diffculties, May your soul rest in peace!

  185. #292 for sure Chiluba knew Levy was not well but rigged him into power. They have finished him and they are happy. First it was the accident that nearly cost him his life, then dues to stress two strokes and Mugabe finally had his last run with his stupidity by causing him this stroke that has finally taken him.

  186. 295, that is not what the constitution says about the vacancy of the president. infact it says:
Umulogoti shall be the president, impombo a vice president. sorry iam just dreaming. owe!

  187. WHEATHER BAD O GOOD YOUR FATHER IS YOUR FATHER.WHEATHER MAD O NOT SAME REMAINS.HE MAY NOT HANDLED SOME THINGS RIGHT,BUT HE WAS THE BEST.THE LEAST I WOULD HAVE LIKED IS TO SEE HIM HOME THEN DIE IN HIS HOME COUNTRY.MAY HSRIP AND IT’S EVERY ZAMBIAN PRAYER TO HAV ANOTHER LEADER OF HIS CHARACTER.HELP US LORD TO
    CHOOSE SUCH A LEADER.

  188. I feel deeply sadenned by the demise of LPM. We shall definitely miss a courageous and principled man who believed in the rule of law. He has deeply engraved his legacy in Zambian history. The story of economic boom for this country will never be written without the methion of his name.
I appeal to peace loving Zambians to continue praying for this nation and jealously protect our peace and sovereignty from stinking vultures.
My deep condolences to the family. MHSRIP!!

  189. # 174 aka TKC,
If that is your prayer, the your posting is very bad. A human being needs to hope for better and not always expecting the worst. Yes this is a big challenge, but we want to come out of it stronger not weaker. May God help Zambia.

  190. people have been born and died. they ar enot different from Levy. they are great leader or were, kapwepwe, martin luther king, Nyerere….so many great leaders to mention. Levy was human like any other

we have lost relatives. death is inevitable. levy was bond to die becasue he was human. people stop making a fuss. i guess 20 pipo have bene pronounced dead at uth today tomorrow another 20 or 30. i mean its normal. he was holding an earthly title – president that didnt mean he could outlive zambians. he was human and what happend to him since he dies some weeks back is not news. zambians stop being naive

  191. #262. Please let us not start speculating all sorts of things. The fact is that LPM has passed. We need stand strong as a nation and as true Zambians and respectfully mourn the passing of His Excellency. MHSRIP.

  192. Just when I begun falling in love with your leadership style. Anyway, we will understand it better by and by. Our consolation is that you run you course with dignity and nobility. —adieu.

  193. Lord You Are Still Sovereign!! Wish comfort to the bereaved family and the nation at large. Peace all

  194. Even though LPM was never one of my favourite people in the world, am still sorry to hear about his passing. MHSRIEP. Condolences to the Mwanawasas.

  195. To my fellow zambian mourners, let us keep the peace we have always treasured and enjoyed. During the sickness of the big man you showed a lot of maturity, please let us continue in the same spirit of calm. I love you zambians.

  196. My condolances to the First Family.May his soul rest in peace.A GREAT LEADER and a COURAGEOUS one who has turned AFRICA in a POSITIVE light.

  197. This is the time we should now start praying for God’s guidance in choosing a credible leader to take over from LPM, someone who will work for the betterment of the poor majority of Zambians and not concentrate on enriching themselves like we have seen in the last few weeks weeks when instead of praying more and more for our leader’s health, the ministers lost track of prayers and started thinking of how they would enrich themselves knowing the president wouldn’t be there to dispute their selfish motives.

  198. what will happen to kaunda and kabwe who were convicted are they going to be released now that the chief judge is gone?

  199. What a loss to the nation, these guys who surrounded mwanawasa wants to reap off the Zambian economy by awarding themselves hefty pay offs, mubepelefye we shall fight you after the burial.

  200. #313 Chintomfwa let us in on the info as there is no need to hide anymore cause the man we were honouring is no more. I also have strong suspicions that it was all planned see my earlier blogg in #213. Should we work this week, I don’t think so let us mourn our great man.

  201. Bakalalila nokulolesha luse luse umwana uwachimwela lelo aya. Bamayo upobekele balelila we mwana waya iwe. truely you were leader you have left behind a Legacey that can never be brocken. Rest in peace. Zambians we need each other lets unite.

  202. 339, Fannie

I guess when Chiluba picked him Levy could not have said no. or when levy realised what was involved he could not have resigned. No wonder you are called Fannie, it was meant to be funnie

  203. While the child was alive, I fasted and wept, thinking, ‘Who knows, maybe the LORD will be gracious to me so the child may live.’ But now that he has died, why should I fast? Can I bring him back again??” (2 Samuel 12:22-23)
MHSRIP and Zambia, stop crying and look up to Gods plan for your nation.
you prayed and fasted for him to get better, pray and fast for a good and better leader to come your way.

  204. we bulanda alatwachula ku li bapompwe,i know chiluba, saviour chungu, katele kalumba and corrupt guys must be smiling what a success.

  205. Just recently, our beloved President spoke at my Fathers funeral. I urge all Zambians not to forget what our beloved president had started. It all starts with a government of integrity. May our new leaders put the people of Zambia first. God bless Zambia.
May His Soul Rest In Peace

  206. I am so devastated at the loss of LPM and annoyed at the RB lead Govt. Can we now have the full medical report, hospital pictures and medical bills for LPM. What a GOVT, what was the point of holding the truth?

  207. MHSRIP. We are going to miss you so very much.We look forward to have a leader who will carry on with the same policies like LPM.We don’t want selfish leaders who will take this country to ruin by amassing wealth at the expense of the poor and the country as a whole.

  208. 295, Ndine, you are quoting the 1991 const. According to the 1996 text its within 90days. You can easily access all these texts, just by google on Zambian-constitution,1996. You will also find the related infor. RIP Levy.

  209. Do not mourn.celebrate his life and thank God for the wonderful leader he gave us.God gives and also takes away. His timing is always perfect

    MHSRIP

  210. A President sadly dying in office whilst trying to lift up the image and dignity of the nation. His political legacy may not be great but Zambia is a much better place now.Condolences to the family who have endured so many bereavements.God will see this country through if we look up to him for guidance and wisdom.

  211. MHSRIP. We want a leader who will improve on want LPM has left and to make corrections where posible for no Human is perfect.
We are peaceful starting from the young up to the old. No fighting. Please No fighting. God Bless you zambian people.

  212. Oh my goodness! All of a sudden I have no job! This can’t be happening to me! Mwana Mpombo, Shakafuswa, Mulongoti, Shikapwasha, please advise, what are we going to do? Where are we going to go?

  213. mwenshimbi, what else can we say, too bad you had to go when things just started making sence in Zambia.
    Rest in peace.

  214. MHSRIP.

    A family man.
    A fighter for corruption.
    A desciplined fellow.
    A Leader.
    A no nonsense man.
    A Child of God.
A man that respected Human Rights – in your term of office no leader was killed mysteriously as we hopelessless saw Paul Tembo and Penza Vanish in thins airs of Zambia.

We critised you for the sake of building you and most cases you accepted our critism.

This is a leader Zambia needs after you.

Rest well LPM. May your deeds for zambia remain the light for our country.

  215. It is indeed a very sad day for our country.I feel for the former first Lady and the children in these trying moments and hope the good lord gives them strength.

I hear there are even louder wails in zambian high commisions around the world from relatives of the late who are not proffessional diplomats and appointed not on merit but on links to the family. They now know that the bubble has burst and they have to come back.I hope they have prepared their children for a life back in Zambia. Infact I have been made aware that there has been looting in these missions ever since the hospital admission of HE.

  216. MHSRIP and condolences to the Mwanawasa family.
#163 & #250 are you suggesting that Maureen is the cause of her husbands death? LPM was hypertensive and he should have stepped down a long time ago after the first stroke.Tell me how many men listen to advice from their wives minus resisting at first?Dont forget there were also boot lickers encouraging him to go ahead.Just recently werent they interested in salary increaments knowing very well LPM was in a coma?Spare ba Maureen please.Damn the bootlickers.LPM RIP

  217. 357 mwana dont worry nga amahule basaviva shani? this sata, or even ichilema nangu who ever.. they no these things. but apa first kulilisha and each for himself and God for as all.

  218. He did his part, the best way we can honor him is to stand united as we move forward. We need only look at the borders to our north, south, east and west and we shall be remainded of the consequences of failure to be peace makers.
    ONE ZAMBIA,ONE NATION

  219. Lets avoid pointing fingers and playing the blame game. Instead lets pray for the family and the nation at large as we face this loss together. LPM MYSRIP.

  220. Condolence. Loosing a beloved one is not easy. Jesus also wept. While sorrow and anguish are real to us the Lord still loves us; It is God’s very nature to be loving 1 John 4:8 Circumstances may change while His love doesn’t. Our perception is restricted to what we know. God is infinite, we are finite. Man’s days are: Swifter than a runner Job 9:25, Like a swift ship Job 9:26, Swifter than a weaver’s shuttle. life is describe as a vapour James 4:14, as grass 1 Peter 1:24, as a flower that wither Job 14:2. Such moments help us realize our utter helplessness & dependence on God. May God grant peace & guidance to the bereaved family & our beloved nation. Pr Michael S. Tembo. U.K.

  221. mwalaba, yestaday mwaleponta, mulelanda ichichinka,God is seeing u.dont blame anyone, ama zambians uchinge.. uuh

Bushe Ba Maureen bachili balefwaya ukwiminina? Maybe that’s why they took forever telling us ati Mudala alidueta.

  223. Please advise me: shall we continue reporting for work without given any day off from our private employers? Will zesco load shed during this morning period?

  224. May your soul rest in peace.
Levy you led us this far, but suddenly left. Which way now? I wish I knew what to expect but only GOD knew that we will be left without a leader. WHY WHY WHY.

  225. What a loss!Death is certain and man should alawys prepare for it. Today Levy is no more, tomorrow is you and me. But are we really prepared?. Wishing the first family God`s care and guidence during this trying moment.

    BAZUNGU – R.L.(MONGU).

  226. As human beings we are all bound to make mistakes BUT I think Levy was taking the country on the right track. We shall surely miss you Levy for what you have been doing for this country. Now that you are gone who will stand with Botswana to put sense in Mugabe since all the SADC leaders cant rebuke Robert? Rest in peace our President and may the peace of God reign on this country and God bless our nation.

  227. To all ,our decency as Zambians is timing of things; this time to mourn and not discuss the costs incured in trying to sustain our fallen leader in his illness

  228. #213 Lady L and #217 you were 100% right.
Bloggers, advise, I feel 7 days is too short for presidential funeral. I thought 7 days was for Mpombos and the like.

Also I have a feeling Mugabe and Mbeki (birds of the same feather) may not come for funeral but may delegate

  229. Levy oh Levy, Chiluba handpicked you thinking you were a purpet but you proved him and everyone wrong.
You brought about investor comfidence and openned up Zambia to such emornous Investment.
Your fight against corruption expossed pipo in public institutions and will go a long way in bringning about sanity these institutions.
Indeed yo wisdom has put this Country were it is now.
MAY YOUR SOUR REST IN ETERNAL PIECE!

  230. Levy died long ago, these punks were just fooling you like they’ve always done so as to buy time to achieve their selfish ends.

Levy should have listened to KK and ruled for just one term and then rested. Instead he decided to listen to his power-hungry wife. Anyway, many of us are controlled by our wives so….

Levy was the best president after KK and we shall miss him.

  231. Rest in Peace Levy. Fellow Zambians now is the time to pray for calm, peace and wisdom as we look towards getting another president. These may be tough times and some wrong elements may try to destabilize us. May God watch over us and continue making Zambia the peace haven of Africa.
Lets stay focused and contend for the peace we have always enjoyed.

  232. So if RB acts as president for three months, does it mean his wife will also act as first lady? What does our constitution or laws say on first ladies? Is it silent? I just want to satisfy my curiosity although curiosity killed a rat!!!

  233. FELLOW COUNTRY MEN AND WEMON OUR BELOVED PRESIDENT HAS “OFFICIALLY” PASSED AWAY,MHSRIP.
HE HAS LEFT BEHIND A BUNCH OF GREEDY MINISTERS AND CADRES WHO WANT TO TAKE ADVANTANGE BY AWARDING THEMSELVES ASTRONOMICAL SALARIES HENCE SUPERNORMAL GRATUITIES AT THE PREMATURE END OF THEIR REIGHN.
LET AS REMAIN UNITED AND ENSURE THAT THEIR ILL INTENTIONS ARE NOT ACHEIVED AT THE EXPENSE OF NATION DEVELOPMENT

  234. we was a greatleader though he had his own weaknesses.may your sour rest in peace. we will miss you.

  235. Shame on ministers who want to reap where they never sowed. President Mwanawasa May His Soul Rest In Eternal Peace. You did what you thought was right in your human form. You be greatly missed by me.

  236. Rest in peace President Mwanawasa. You gave Zambia back its determination, focus and integrity. Please continue to look after us to ensure that all your hard work and efforts do not fall by the wayside.
    MYSRIP.

  237. #391 I was thinking of the same thing. I mean are we going to let this go on? How old is that wife of his again? What a disgrace.

  238. The death of LPM is a sad development for the Zambian people and the Mwanawasa family. MHSRIP. I believe we can soldier on. Continuity on LPM’s success is critical. It is ironical that the Ministers (monsters) were in a hurry to pass the salary increment Bill before LPM’s death, it amounts to daylight robbery – holding Rupiah Banda at ransom. They are disgusting lot.

  239. My Beloved President ,you have gone as a hero for the love of your Country and We will live to remember you. You did your part, and did so honarably.May God Bless you and unity your Family.Long Live Levy , i will surely miss you.God be with you.God will guide us to pray for your family from now till when the Lord comes.
    MYSRIP

  240. Levy RIP. He kept the kwacha strong when we all thought it will turn into a joke like Zimbs. Economy ticking , locking up corrupt leaders , he did his part.

We all feel sad the venom we had was created by the mishandling of his illness by RB and co.

It is now obviuos, gratuity increment was the main reason they kept playing around, as most of them would be losing jobs. Shame on them!!

  241. fellow country men and women, on behalf of the office of the president and other security forces, we are deeply sorry for realising the news about the death of his excellency Dr.Levy.P.mwanawasa SC. The president died 6 weeks ago, but we were just following orders from the first family and other distinct persons in high office, our duty is to be loyal and save the government of the day. The reason for the delay was to make sure that all necessary security measures are in place by the time the presidents death is announced.so dont worry, the nation is under control and GOD Bless the nation of Zambia.

  243. #152, please leave all those dead politicians alone. All those are recycled and done.God is great, a leader will be born from nowhere.

  244. It’s a great loss to the people of Zambia. We have lost a good leader who could have brought change to Zambia.M.Y.S.R.I.P
    God be with you forever.

  245. It is with great sadness that I learned today of Mwanawasa’s passing. I am a freelance writer for Great Neck Publishing a division of EBSCO Publishing and I have been working on a biographical article about President Mwanawasa for the last week. I have been encouraged by his faith in Christ and his integrity as a national leader. I pray that future leaders of Zambia follow in the example set by Mr. Mwanawasa. Blessings and sympathy to his family. Sincerely, Lynn-nore Chittom

  246. You started off on a very bad note. You were so unpopular. you ve had to absorb so many insults from which you did not deserve, in all fairness.

TRUE ZAMBIANS, with the nation’s interest at heart, will agree to say you realy took the nations economy forward from where Chiluba and his Plunderous bunch left it.

Your family should be proud, because you proved to the world that you were a hard worker, you fell ill while perfoming national duties, you’ve died as a true hero. We may have disrepected you at the begining but you have proved many of us wrong, the respect that you’ve died with today – you truly deserve. RIP my president.

  247. # 391 and # 398, to answer your question, yes, Mrs Banda will act as first lady. As at now, Maureen is already being referred to as former first lady. Rememebr now, Levy is dead and is no longer the president.

  248. I think we shouldnt just mourn our LPM but celebrate his life and deeds while in Zed.He was the first man to resigne from political office because he DID not agree with what was going on under the rule of Wabufi Kafupi.

Felow bloggers LPM set a presedence. Whoever comes next better know that we shall expect nothing less having tasted good leadership .

  249. Sad news indeed fellow country men and women. May the communion of the Holy spirit be with his family and indeed the entire country.

  250. MYSRIP LPM, you have set standards that people aspiring for predos office should have, how unfortunate that you did not have any succession plan in your party, i hope opposition parties in this country should take this as a lesson, as no one knows when he or she is to die but God alone the custodian of life. My deepest condolences to the mwanawasa family.

  251. My his soul rest in peace, we will truly miss him. He was one of the few leaders who would call right as right and not left.

May God be with him in spirit and our greatest prayers goes to the first family.

    MYSRIP.

  252. I too offer my condolences to the Mwanawasa family as it is now official…
However why are you all acting surprised???..My theory is that LPM died sometime ago and this Government kept it quiet so they could do whatever deals they needed to do!!!…
The question is what will happen now my brothers and sisters..who will take over the reigns of power in Zambia???

  253. ba fikili ba OP, mwaba a bolo bonse. You are the ones who have killed the president, you think we dont know it was an inside job, not all of you OP agents were loyal to the president. we have information on what was and is happening in MMD.zambians open yo eyes you are heading in a very dark tunnel.

  255. ITS REALLY BAD YOU ARE GONE WITHOUT SAYING THE LAST WORDS TO YOUR PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA. MAY GOD BE YOUR FAMILY!

  267. Ba world citizen, thanks 4 enlightening us,
would you also tell us how you access this constitutional info coz honestly speaking the average Zambian citizen has never been in contact with a constitution. Thats one area we need to look at as Zambians.

    I’m felling realy bad

  285. #319,
Just what point are you trying to drive at here? And by the way, in what sense are you putting Kapwepwe in the same books as Martin Luther King, Kaunda and Nyerere? Who outside of Zambia ever heard of Kapwepwe? You’re just one of the stinking tribalistic thieves who were busy claiming the economy was booming under your Katangese brother Chiluba when all could see it was tanking big time. You primates of the Ituri really make me sick with your stupidity, I hope the next president cedes you to Katanga to link up with Katoto and Kabila.

  286. This french president never visited LPM at his hospital bed,Now here he goes to talk something good about levy.what a shame!!!tawakwata amano iwe ka sokoshi.Rest in peace Levy,we will greatly miss you.

  288. I believe that everyone is put on this earth for a reason, I also believe that when the lord feels that your work on this earth is done, he takes you away,Dr Mwanawasa had achieved his life’s work.
So as Zambians, let us look back and celebrate the life of a man who dug us out of the trenches of corruption, who had a vision for this great nation, who cared about his people.
And let us keep our faith in the lord, it is a trying time but we will get through it.
    GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

  289. My deepest condolences to Zambia and LPM’s family.we are mourning with you…we’ve lost such ahard working and honest leader!May you rest in peace LPM.we shall greatly miss you.

  290. Why didn’t Marlone Zaza run to the press this time, because this time it’s not a hoax? How president’s really no more now.

  291. Am still mourning my beloved President Levy Patrick Mwanawasa, could not sleep in peace but slept in sorrow. Its really sad indeed. God please help us.

  292. My condolences for the loss of our president. Where do we gofrom here? I am hopeful this shalll give birth to generational change…MHSRIP

  293. #36 You are saright to the point. Im with you.. Mpombo, Mulongoti, Shakafuswa and Mabenga must pack their bags and leave.. We have had enough of their bucintomfwa (nonsense).. Katoloshi (Lupando Mwape) in China must also follow suit and come back to eat amasuku in his home village.

  294. May the soul of our dear president rest in peace. It is indeed a dark day for Zambia but a lesson must also be learnt from this. Our president’s health bad and many of his advisors knew this especially the first lady herself. Sometimes it is better to be realistic and let go, it is better to have someone alive with no post than to lose him entirely. That man brought development to this nation and even in the terraces we wud have been going to him for advice but coz of selfishness of some individuals, we have lost him as a whole. Lets choose a person who will continue with his good works but then my biggest question and worry is …..WHO? because as far as am concerned..God help us!

  295. MHSRIP,Levy you did your best.

But guys what do think about these Diplomats visiting sata?Don’t you think the big man is cooking up something with these American Ambassadors.

  296. MHSRIP, Levy had a heart for this country. But the question is who takes over from him, coz what we need is contnuity. The man had a vision for this country and this will be seen after his death, therefore we need to ask God to give us someone like him.

  297. Its sad. At first i didnt believe it but now it has dawned on me that batata kwena namuya. the gap you have left vacant will has been felt. I recieved your the news of your deah with great sorrow and it reminded me of the death of of my own parents. You sreved us well and i hoped you would come back to come and lead us but goes surely does get the best ones. Our father rest in eternal peace.

  298. A gallant and fearless leader he was!will surely miss your realistic Judgement,he painted the face of Zambia white as regards to the fight against corruption!well done!your leadership was top notch and it will be difficuilt to replace you comrade!may the God be with you ba Levy as we Know you are seated on the right side of the lord,You will definately go in our memory lane Comrade!

May the Lord be with the Family and Rest in peace

  299. We have lost really our parent as Zambians who was not selfish to his children zambian. May his soul rest in peace and continue to pray to the almighty God to give us another parent who will follow the steps of our late President Dr. Patrick Levy Mwanawasa SC. Really God gave us a good parent and he taken from us.

  300. He tried to bring sanity in Zambian politics after vultures tried to stiffle the economy.Lets be careful as to who succeeds him.MHSRIP

  301. LPM was a great man…yeah he’s gone!…And clearly a transition is underway. In the interim, the man of the moment will remain, His Honour, the Vice President, Rupiah Banda (RB). The Costitution mandates him to run the country at this juncture. What Rupiah and his cabinet do, will chart the course of Zambia. Whether he sees himself beyond the transition is another matter!

It remains to be seen if Zambians will allow any acts designed to undermine the fragile but interim government of RB. It is expected that “The Family” tree with its extensive presence in key positions in government will not be allowed to undermine and derogate the Constitution and the ruleof law.

  302. We have lost a great man Dr. patrick Mwanawasa may he soul lest in peace.May the first family be with God in this trying moment and the all nation zambia.

  303. levy was a good man even though they say that if you want to know that pipo love you die but for levy it was different as he was NOT a pretender like most politicians may his soul rest in peace and may GOD BLESS HIM AND ZAMBIA WITH PEACE AND UNITY.

  304. LPM, we took you for granted and few realized that you were God-sent, a blessing to Zambia. Not many could have had the courage to do what you did in fighting corruption. You demonstrated fearlessness, integrity, hard work and a genuine and unselfish desire to prosper our nation. The results of your hard work are self-evident. We pray that God will give us another selfless, hardworking leader to continue the good work you started.
Condolences kuli Ba Maureen and the Mwanawasa family – May God comfort you during this trying period as we mourn your beloved husband and our dear president. We will surely miss him.

  305. MHSRIP,SURELY YOU WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS ZAMBIA’S FINEST PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THEM ZAMBIAN STUDENTS HERE IN CUBA WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU.

  306. May his soul rest in peace.my dreams of meeting the president has meen taken away.am comforted knowing that he has gone to a better place.

  307. We wud have loved to see u finish your term, but God saw it fit to take you now.
you gave us a good drive.u have left a legacy and we will remain united.
    M.Y.S.R.I.P

  308. i will surely miss you Levy.I never admired your leadership when you won in 2001,but yuo proved to me that you ment good for mother Zambia and I trusted you leadership since 2004.May you soul rest in peace

  309. So sad indeed. Zambia has lost someone who had our interests at heart, the pressure of puttting every plunderer to book and the likes of Mugabe to face up to there crap killed this man. Iam devastated!

  310. Cabija kapati. Anyhow, condolences to the Mwanawasa family as a whole and Zambia as a great Nation. The good Lord is always there for all of us in this trying time and so leat us look to him for all help and encouragement.

  311. THE BEHAVIOUR OF ZNBC IS DISGUSTING, UNIMAGINABLE AND GRIEFLY UNPATRIOTIC. HOW IN THE WORLD COULD THEY BE CONDUCTING INTERVIEWS AT THE AIRPORT AND CONCENTRATING ON THEM WHEN THE PRESIDENTS BODY HAD ARRIVED AND WAS BEING REMOVED FROM THE PLANE. WHY COULDNT THEY CONCENTRATE ON THE NATURAL SOUND AND SONGS BEING SANG BY PEOPLE.

THIS IS THE MOST SHOCKINGLY THING IN TELEVISION HISTORY IN ZAMBIA.

THEY HAVE NEVER BEEN INTERESTED IN PRESIDENT MWANAWASA WHICH IS WHY UNTIL MINISTRY OF FINANCE STARTED SHOWING DEVELOPMENT AND ECONOMIC PROGRAMMES AROUND ZAMBIA, WE ALL THOUGHT NOTHING WAS HAPPENING.

IAM DESPARATELY SAD AND AGRIEVED! IF THERE IS A WAY, LET THEM BE FIRED!
