UPND launches campaign

Share

UPND president, Hakainde Hichilema, has pledged to govern Zambia prudently once elected president.

He says he will ensure that public resources are put to good use.

Mr. Hichilema also says there is need to sustain the social and economic gains, which the country has recorded over the last few years.

He was speaking in Lusaka, Monday, when he officially launched the UPND campaign for the Presidential election scheduled for October 30.

Mr. Hichilema also thanked the Zambia Defence Forces and Zambians in general for giving President Mwanawasa a befitting state funeral.

Many Lusaka residents turned up to listen to the UPND leader during the launch, held at the Mulungushi International Conference Center.

Zambia goes to the polls on October 30, in a presidential by-election, which is coming after the death of President Mwanawasa on August 19.

  1. The winning team has launched its campaign. Mr incoming Republican President Hakainde Hichilema would-be, I wish you (HH) all the very best as you enter this challenging job. Please, stay true to your commitment and make sure you show the tribalists that you are the man of the moment for Zambia. I know, if and when you become President the same tribalists will be advocating that you (HH) go for a third term, but as a powerful man committed to improving the Zambian Citizens’ lives please do your part and leave others to take it up from where you will leave it in a democratic and constituional manner.

Sir (HH), I wish you the best of success in everything.

  2. Breaking news: Sata endorses HH – ” Ine ninkota.” “Saleni Umwaiche Ukwete amaka.” (See www .hakainde. com for details)

  3. After MMD released RB and after he was roundly praised, the heat was on the other parties to provide their own. It was a challenge, and HH has responded to that challenge with his own Manifesto ladies and gents.
HH reminds me of a Tyson 22 years ago, young underated but is a fighter
a Champion, a Winner, and if they came in whatever masses they do, as Spinks did then he will KO them , and be the youngest president in this country
We want you HH we need you , rescue us, answer our prayers, we know you are the anointed one, You are our samson, go get them do it for mother zambia, we are with you all the way . .. .

  4. iwe # 3 you will be crying when ur relative vote HH….. i am already singing namoonga at the office… HH is the savior of zambia, no more ba Kabwalala, Ubwato is sinking the hour was over a long time ago…. it is time for ba mwadya mweka daddy to goooooo… Tonga Bulls Jump Up!!!!

  5. Young man wait for 2011. We ve put u on the nursery. Wait for RB to finish up the task which levy left him to do . Keep it up. After all its just three years .

  6. HH WILL NEVER RULE ZAMBIA BCOZ HE IS A SICK TONGA TRIBALIST AND TONGA SPEAKING PEOPLE ARE JUST 17% OF THE TOTAL POPULATION. HE WILL JUST WIN IN SOUTHERN PROVINCE LIKE LAST TIME.

    SATA SATA SATA

THE FIRST PARTY IN POWER HAD FOUR LETTERS (UNIP), THE SECONS HAS THREE LETTERS (MMD) THE THIRD SHOULD HAVE TWO LETTERS (PF).

  7. Sajent…. if he is good enough for 2011 how is it that he is not good enough for NOW, let RB wait till 2011…heheheheheh HH STAND UP AND SAVE ZAMBIA

  8. You are currently the best man for the job. It’s unfortunate Zambian student @ UNAM won’t be their on the election day but we wish u all the best of luck sir.
HH for president, we need a young man with fresh and brilliant ideas, sick and tired of recycled politicians all resurrected from retirement and having new terminal benefits @ the expense of a sick president then.

  9. A fourth consecutive defeat for a tonga presidential aspirant in less than 10 years.Tongas Enough is enough ,try other candidates, politics is about team work.Three consecutive defeats in less than 10years is morethan enough to try other candadates.Mazoka 2001,HH 2006,Magade 2008.Your involvement in tribal politics has led to low production in agriculture especially cattle rearing and maize farming.Lozis now have more cattle than the tongas despite all the problem with crazing and weather in western prov

  10. Am just happy with the maturity just shown in the HH group of setting the campaigns with a launch. Every thing should be done in an orderly way, but i still feel a merge with SATA’s led PF was going to be good for the nation.

  11. )))))))))))))))))) OUR SAVIOR IS ON THE WAY….. HH IS THE MAN OF THE MOMENT.TIME HAS COME FOR ZAMBIA TO BE SERVED. WE LOVE YOU HH…REDEEM OUR BEAUTIFUL MOTHER ZAMBIA PLIZ….

  12. Choma1 is from livingstone using the screen name Choma1… and he is tall… hahahahaha so dont confuse him for someone short, dude i dont even know what else to say to you, i need a real blogger not a tall one

  13. You guys thnking HH will win and calling him incoming president and the wining team has launched it’s campaigh are really misguided and you have no clue about Zambian politics. This guy is he equivalent of Nevers Mumba in MMD ..ill advised. You can’t win an election with southern province votes wake up folks and support Sata or RB..HH is going nowhere now maybe in 2016

  14. The Incoming President HH would-be and his colleague in the 2008 Presidential-by-elections Hon. Micheal Sata have work out a master plan for Zambia:

Sata endorses HH – ” Ine ninkota.” “Saleni Umwaiche Ukwete amaka.” (See www .hakainde. com for details)

HH Waboola for President. Vote UPND’s HH for economic independence. Real ray of Change and Hope we can believe in.

  15. #24 whether you like it or not, The Incoming President HH would-be is the man of the moment.

I am beginning to collect a number of paper for removing tears for those who will be crying when his honourable HH will be sworn in – if he wins – in November 2008.

Before, it is too late, I invite you #24 and all HH-critics to join us, progressive Zambians, in the WINNING TEAM before it is too late. November, Zambia, here we come with REAL CHANGE and Hope for the good of every Zambian regardless of trible and colour.

  16. #24 you’re being kind… HH is going nowhere… he might as well change his career before he becomes the mirror image of the PF leader thirty years from now

  17. #28, I wrote to lweendo9. I didnt get a feedback of any information sending problem so I reckoned all was well. Anyhow, you can send me email, NOW, on [email protected], I will then contact you with my usual busy email address.

  18. Choma 1. Forget about that Chengelo chap he’s a liar. The other day he was claiming to be campaigning in southern province kanshi chili ku states.

  19. iwe # 34, im campaigning the Tonga way… today i am in Kalomo, waiting on the train back to the Capital City of Civilization and all human endeavor ….MONZE …. i cant talk to choma1 he is lost

  20. Emmanuel Kant and many other tribalists you are shallow minded, in this time and age you still breath tribalism; the post statistics has much to be desired and do not be fooled with it. It over-looked the product of inter-marriages, i personally trace my origin to three tribes and am pretty sure am not in any of those statistics.

What should be discussed on this fora is how individual tribes will develop Zambia and not Tonga, Bemba, Nyanja, Lozi or Luvale. Above all your own relatives have betrayed you so many times that you have relied on a lozi, bemba, tonga etc friend for help.

  21. Choma1 koya kwenu!!! HH for president. Ladies and gentlemen very soon on radio it will be “president Hakainde has said……” You better get used to it. He’s the Obama of Zambia.

  22. why do people still claim inter marriage status… some of us are pure blood, if you are over age 28 its possible ur parents marriange was somewhat arranged. So you should have pure blood…. im not promoting Tribalism, just Tongalism….

  23. Like I said earlier Chengelo, concentrate on the line of rail; i.e starting from Mazabuka, Monze, Chisekese, Pemba, Kamunga, Muzoka, Choma, Kalomo amd L/stone. I’m leaving tomorrow for Chirundu, then I’ll proceed to Siavonga, Sinazeze, Sinazongwe and come out in Maamba. I’ll not forget to pass through Bbwemunyama, Haanjalika, Hamugunkulu, the Kafue flats and Itezhi tezhi. We’ll meet in Kafue to wrap up the campaign. Good luck! HH for president.

  24. 42!! Obama&&?????? When I was in southern Province the first question I was asked was if in Ukraine Or Germany and Norway where I was, people knew HH.Countrymen I said know NO but the reaction I got from those UPND councillors ,I will never forget ,I was at a point of death or life. Then one of them asked but how can we know obama?obama is ours even Kenya they are celebrating,he concluded.

  25. #47 Tonga Bull… I am on it, the rail line is almost complete, im sure once you have finished your campaign trail, come october 30 people will find that southern province plays a mjor role in deciding who wins elections…. HH for president.

  26. Good thing HH has come up. Though they would still have lost, this guarantees a split of the opposition vote and a win for RB.
    RB for president!

  27. Ba Chengelo Alumni(No 44), your reasoning does not hold any waters, marriages of yesterday could have been arranged but still inter-marriages existed. The late President was a product of inter-marriage, Mr Fred M’mebe the Nyengo(lozi) and bemba blood runs through his blood,Dr. Kenneth Kaunda etc, by promoting tongalism you are definitely promoting tribalism, how else do you think ilas, lenjes, toka leyas will join your ill conceived thinking? Emmanuel Kant, you and many others advocating for tribal blogging have no place in today’s way of thinking.

  30. Chengelo the last time i saw HH s smile is when Mazoka s coffin was being lowered into his grave.I never attended the late LPM s buriai but i wouldnt be surprised if hh wore the same smile

  31. CHOMA1 – I CANT TALK TO YOU, YOU ARE LOST, I GET UPSET WHEN PEOPLE MENTION THE LATE ANDERSON MAZOKA, SO IM DONE BLOGGING FOR TODAY

  32. Hakaivotela Heka.lol.HH is not seeing state house, people forget UPND is only in Southern Province.Provincial leader and not national leader

  33. #55.Chengelo Alumni, ndalumba ndalubona lugwalo ndolemba. Katubajisi amaanzobile aaba.

HH the Incoming would-be President of the Republic of Zambia November 2008.

  34. Chengelo Alumni, i’m just being honest… no pun intended but did you listen to the man’s campaign opener today during the main news… HH? He’s no Obama, that’s for sure. Even the late LPM sounded more visionary and charismatic during his ’06 campaign and he was an ailing man…

  35. Guys, what palns shall we make on helping print “HH for Zambian Republican President 2008” on things like T-shirts, wrist-watches, etc, for HH as Incoming President of Zambia to send home for this campaign period before October 2008?

  36. Oh Girls too!

Brothers and Sisters, wherever you are on this planet Earth, what palns shall we make on helping print “HH for Zambian Republican President 2008” on things like T-shirts, wrist-watches, etc, for HH as Incoming President of Zambia to send home for this campaign period before October 2008?

HH for President. Vote UPND’s HH for economic independence. real ray of Change and Hope that Zambians can believe in.

  37. #63 U come with respect and i will respond with respect. I respect your opinion, and all due respect to the late LPM. If you have followed my blog contributions all I am saying is that HH is a better choice than Sata, and that is my opinion, some people on this blog may think Sata is like Obama, maybe some will think RB is like Obama, but when i see HH i see Obama.

  38. #62.Anonymous, why stop at SIKOTA WINA? Then we might as well vote for his wife too if that will make you happier. How about that? And LT stop this rubish that i am posting my comments too quickly!! It’s a lie.

  39. #10, 13, 15, 17, 23, 28, 36, 38,44, 46 YOU SEEM TO BE THE ONLY JEW WHO DOESNT KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING IN ISRAEL. THE YOUNG MAN (HH) WANTS TO RUN BEFORE HE CRAWLS. ADVISE YOUR BROTHER TO PUT HIMSELF UNDER THE SUPERVISORY GUIDANCE OF ‘KING COBRA’ AND BE WHINED FROM HIS MOTHER’S BREASTS.

  40. #68 Peter – hold your fire, you think we will fall for that BS of HH working under a man whose death certificate has already been printed. Ubwato buleya kumanda!!!

  41. “Mr Fred M’mebe the Nyengo(lozi) and bemba blood runs through his blood says Chengelo”.Is this the free education HH is preaching and has been preaching,.You tonga chaps are misled ,blood flows through the veins and not what HH s chaps are saying.Your free education policy derseves much to be desired, anyway you punks are headed for a fourth tonga presidential defeat Mazoka 2001 hh 2006 magade 2008 hh 2008,guess malendes are not working well.maybe its time to abondon them and obey the Litunga

  42. Ka choma 1. Your mother’s knicker is full of some semen from a dog. You are a product of a one nite stand. You are called a bastard by surname. I will pay you to sleep with your mother.

  43. #66 I think I understand your opinion and respect it. Nonetheless, i stand by words, time may prove me wrong but i doubt. I still do not think HH can even remotely beat the vocal Sata at the polls, let alone the man with VJ and the govt. machinery… the so called RB

  44. #72 – Why would you want to do that? You mean one very bad comparison is not enough? You want to take it a step further? Im beginning to have serious doubts about not just the candidates, but the electorate to at the rate you are all carrying on!

  45. #75 you may just be right, its hard to beat the incumbent, and the vote is usually in favor of the incumbent, but if you follow my blogs, RB is already president, cant cahnge that. But Sata should never be allowed to rule, if HH can prevent Sata from going to state House he does the country a great favor. Sata may not be allowed to rule. Thank you for understanding

  46. Chengelo Alumni yebo ulabeja maningi.bulowa bulowa uyenda buti.u amba uzwa kuti u ku monze?ku li monze?upnd was collective joint when it was started b4 punks like u and hh hijicked the mission for selfish and tribal reasons.I moved with Late Andy and i dont regret.I just dont blog but i know what am talking abt

  47. #80. FTJ Sympathizer, of course they are – within reason. Just don’t compare a Tank to your 4×4. It’s like taking a knife to gun fight. It’s stupid and not very useful.

  48. Choma1 you can’t differentiate a typographical error from your own physco-illusions, its truly waste of time to argue with you. Worse more that error wasn’t committed by Chengelo and it was corrected on No 54. You better take your medication, is the moon visible? please, please do just that!!!i hate tribalists.

  49. Come November 2008, all anti-UPND’s HH are in for a rude shock.

HH waboola. HH the Hope of Zambia at this present time in this Earth’s history.

Zambian, let us beef up HH’s campaign at home in Zed since we are far away – and may not vote. Howz about little little stuff engraved or printe “HH the man of the moment for Zambian President” to be sent home for campaigns.

  50. Ba HH B@liny@ kuntulo for wanting a Tonga for UPND President. Zambians are not very forgiving ask kaunda, Chiluba or Maureen Mwanawasa.

Then come back in November and tell us on this blog. It is RB or SATA.

  51. In politics there is no room for error or any game .if you are here for errors then am sorry for you.If the hakainde family can were my friends then i told see any tribalism.I can have coffee with those punks and i will still describe them as punks in their presence

  52. Indeed eagle one… it is stupid… note that it is from a mess and mix of stupidity and sense that sanity, clarity and excellence is derived

  53. choma1, you Tonga on #81 is not original. You need a bit more help. Anyway, have some nice blogging and desist from insults, please.

  54. 87.FTJ Sympathizer; agrred. To expand on my point of comparisons between HH, SATA etc and Obama; I mean I have been amused by those on this blog who have been expressing their strong views to the extent that they declare that whether Zambians like it or not HH or Sata is the next president. And guess where they are making such outrageous statements from: Outside the country!! In other words, they; like you and I, are not even going to VOTE come October 30th! I think such wishful thinking is really stupid and doesn’t add value to either the persons saying those things or the country, wouldn’t u agree?

  55. 73 i am catholic and not sabbath SDA nor UPND.proud to be catholic.i Observe my relgious values.Actually in 1993 I managed and advocated for a school rule that made SDA members do their manual work on sartudays.Another guy actually proposed to have more prok in our diet and that was fulfilled.

  56. 73 i am catholic and not sabbath SDA nor UPND.proud to be catholic.i Observe my relgious values.Actually in 1993 I managed and advocated for a school rule that made SDA members do their manual work on sartudays.Another guy actually proposed to have more pork in our diet and that was fulfilled.

  57. 89 Eagle One. Understood. … there are no guarantees in life… Come Oct 30th, plot one is up for grabs… However, one thing is definitely certain – either the electorate will win or the govt. machinery will carry the day as usual…

  58. you brave zed corwards, after RB has won the election with 1% mojority. Those useless people in kanyama, misisi, mandevu and chibolya compounds will try and cause confusion in town, but eventualy metoyo and chisuzis boys will tear gas them a bit and maybe beat them a bit.and after that calm and peace will resume and LIFE will go back to normal, with RB as president, you people will go back to drinking shakers, while listening to k millian and other stupid musicians. while for as here in SA, will continue doing our diplomatic duties, enjoying life due to tax payers money, and driving diplomatic cars in the streets of sandton.mwanvela ba fikili. if not go hang our selfs.

  59. #47 iam heading for eastern province i will spend a week campaigning there.#65 if you want to help HH buy tickets for some pipo to go and vote in lusaka(UNZA students since they registered in lusaka)#73 stop insulting. This blog is a clean one now.You are the only one posting insults here.Kuyuma yuma basa zambia forward.

  60. Why is HH quiet on pork?why did Late Mazoka ditch the SDA church?if HH wins are we going to be following the old testament or the new testament?

  61. #94.FTJ Sympathizer. Totally agree. Must say it’s been refreshing to have this exchange with u. I like an intelligent discourse; which is a lot to say for much on this blog!!

  62. Kamwamba ba Muna and Tonga bull UK.We can still campaign notuli kule.Lets help our brothers and sister who registered in other towns and they leave somewhere else now go back to where they registered to vote.Kuyuma yuma kulela bana kulela bana ye kuyuma yuma.

  63. Choma1 so as catholics thats what you do is punish fellow belivers in Christ??? seriously my friend resist from blogging, ur reputation has been ruined. SDA = believers in the true sabbath of the lord, no one can dispute that. please blog responsibly and try not to attach peoples religious beliefs.

  64. #100, wabandika kabotu musa. Tuyandika mubatomina iziwaile bantu kuZed kubaambila kuti bakavotele musankwa wa ciindi cino. As someone on her has rightly out it, we need to help all those voters who are staying where they did not register to vote to get to their polling stations and vote from there so the the Man of the Moment his honour HH, the Incoming President would-be for the Mighty Zambian Republic, makes it on November 4, 2008 to Plot 1.

HH for President, real ray of change and hope we can believe in.

  65. Fellow Zambians let try something new! no disrespect to Mr Banda but with him it feels like something we have already tried out. HH represents something new.

  66. Basa ndamwaika lino kuyo-ona, Kamupona kabotu koonse ooko nkomubele.

“One Zambia, one Nation.” Zambia Forward, the UPND’s HH for President.

  67. In Luapula Valley my friends MMD is shaken. Evey one is excited about HH. This is because of the powerful ground work HH did when he come here for Mutomboko as well as the comfusion in MMD/PF where PF MPs are decampaigning Sata and Campaigning for RB. People have been left confused and they feell HH would be a better option. WATCH OUT FOR THIS YOUNG MAN. He learnt from his mistakes in 2006.

  68. Countrymen we only have two candidates.HH has been dealt with accordingly.Foreign and local investors want to promote pork production, foreign investors and local investors want productivity which might mean people working on sartudays, foreign and local investors might not only want to rest at sun hotel.HH cant handle these.Yebo hh ko ya ku maanda kulima.

  69. Choma 1 this is not a forum for a religious battle, and trust me adventists know their bible you do not want to battle with them, i want to respect everyones denomination here and let us look at the good doen by churches not “pork” or “pope”….

  70. Good luck to the UPND ,but we suspect that going it alone and without the support of the 2nd largest opposition party ,the PF will not bring the desired outcome for them. The same is also true for the PF.These two parties need one another if they are serious about winning the coming elections ,they had better devise a strategy to that end and they had better do it in a hurry otherwise the MMD and RB will emerge victorious.

  71. Chengelo mwana a chiisi .Ok am sorry but tell your chaps to refrain from insults. I am built on principles and not insults nor tribalism.Dont ever call people nyengos like you did before.

  72. Country men be advised that CHOMA1 is choosing his candidate by virtue of promotion of Pork Production and working on saturday. these are the issues that are important to Choma1, please inform him that parliament makes the laws and president can not prevent pork production nor can he stop people working on saturday.

  73. #3 the only thief in this election is a candidate who got council money and put it in his personal account to earn interest. When he was asked he said “shaibile nabulile fye”. Some people are so scared of HH because they know that once he takes over the bar for public service will rise and all pretenders will drop and never to come near state house again.

  74. If we make an analogy between three presidential candidates to a watch, we can say that Sata is the only person who can carry the functional role. So all of u making shallow comments against him stop bcoz u are wasting your time. HH might have money but it does not mean he is fit to be our president. U should realize that having money is not the prerequisite to be a president. RP will be dating all young girls in our country and start giving them sugar.

  75. PF supporters are panicking calling for a coalition with a person they called calculator boy. Has the calculator boy become gold now? PF you claim you are big enough so why do you want HH’s support? PF knows it is now or never while HH’s agenda is to offer Zambians choices and it not a matter of do or die for him. Right now you seem to underate HH but be warned this young man is serious. In politics you never underate anybody. If you want ask hillary Clinton or john Mccain who once said this young man without experience but now Mccain knows he is in a serious battle for the white house.

  76. If i promote the Tonga Tribe i am being a patriotic son of the south….Tribalism is if i start to downtalk other tribes with the exception of the Tribe that has been stealing the countries money. they know who they are….Tonga Bulls

  77. #114 the only candidate with a history of extramarital affairs in this election is Sata. He has children all over Lusaka and Zambia and RB and HH have none.

  78. Obama and HH are very far apart in outlook, substance and style. Obama does not try nor need to mimick anyone- HH tries so hard to mimick Obama. Obama decided to forgo a lucrative job as a big firm lawyer to instead work as a community worker for the poor- HH decided to go for the money over the interests of the Ramcoz, Lima Bank and Sun Hotel workers whom he swindled of their service charges. Obama would never do that and HH will never be President of Zambia. Come 1st November reality will strike a lot of the bloggers who seem to currently be giddy.

  79. Can somebody update me. I might have missed something when I went on leave from bloging ..when did they change the Zambian constitution to allow only Southern Province to vote? when did I miss this? Looks like HH’s wife has moved into State house? when did that happen?

  80. Never compare obama and HH for God s sake.Obama begun from somewhere, just like the late LPM university days guyz.HH could not even be picked to be a sweeper in his class because of the fact that he had two H(S) an he in tonga means one coming from the plateau, the real tribal person

  81. HH needs to tell us whether he would consider it ethical for one of his ministers to be sent to negotiate on behalf of Zambia with some investor and immediately thereafter accept to become that company’s board Chairman. Would he consider that to be ethical and above board? Would that be synonymous with fighting corruption? If his answer to these questions is “Yes” then he has no business aspiring to be president. If his answer is “No” then why did he accept to become Board Chairman of Sun Hotel immediately after negotiating “on behalf of the Zambian people” the privatization of Hotel Mosi-o-Tunya? Is this the man you call Obama? Pleeeez!

  82. #114 the one with money is unlikely to enrich himself when gets to a position where he is in control of alot of money unlike the one who doesn’t have money because he will be stealing that money so that by the time he leaves that office he has alot of money.Rb is been sued by his employees for not paying them.If he is elected he will steal in order to pay his ngongole.Look at other countries you can’t be a president if you don’t have money. If someone can not manage his four workers how can he manage to deal with amillion workers. They say charity beginings at home.

  83. #104 HH says we must try to sustain the social & economic gains of the last few years. You want to try something new?

  84. #125 u have hit the nail on the head. why vote a poor broke person to steal all ur money, when HH sees the presidential pay he may just say, please give this to the street kids as it is peanuts. RB will be looking for 15% eff 01/01/08. Sata will be looking for it effective 2001.
Choma1 the south is in Monze district, according to my compass!

  85. Historically and accordingly across the rail line is what we call THE Barotse Land or the the west.Rupiya is from the east and I am from barotse and you are a subject. There is nothing like the south, whilest I believe that a tribe known as tonga which used to be invaded by bushmen exsisted. You chaps used to pay royalties to bushmen and now you want to rule.In 1911 two countries were merged the one for rupiya and ours.Chengelo like it or not your a barotseman

  86. I can some pipo being defensive against HH.I can confirm that HH has done his home wrk frm afta 2006 elections.I travel thru out Zambia coz of nature of my job,HH is in rural areas where Sata or RB have even bothered to reach.Surely hard wrk pays off.

  87. #127 I don’t understand what you are on about. Do care to elaborate? As far as I am concerned his ideas are fresh and considered which is a lot more than you can say for the other contenders!

  88. Choma1 doesnt know what he is talking about…. you want to talk about being subjects then look up the word Makololo.. had it not been for the late LPM the real barotse land only had one real road from Lusaka to Mongu, Katima mulilo u better be glad that LPM even developed that road and bridge. does Monze or mazabuka or pemba or choma or kalomo sound like sesheke-senanga-mongu and the other places without development. U are a makololo subject, and i am a TONGA BULL

  89. No more thugs in state house. The LPM stated it all. We need decency in Plot 1. HH for presidency.
Now this ka flag. As thoug I am not in Zed.

  90. Mmm..People think that Sata will win these elections heh.The real threat to RB is HH & Sata. Those in zambia do a little survey in communities & u’ll c that what am saying makes sense.

  91. Mwaami chengelo!! n gozi ya diya.have a nice day.no grudges, frank talk though at times humans make mistakes, you are our subjects and if history repeats itself then you and me will be true testmonies.Today we all know know about hh s free education policy, blood runs thruuu….. ohh by the ways no long ago zambia beat togo 1 0 and last week zambia beat togo 1o0 meaning hisotry repeats itself.Muchende ulalele kabotu.kwina kuyasasa,na ku nzala muchibono bola ku maanda

  92. Mwe ba tonga but mwalikwata ubwafya, that’s why u will never rule in Zambia. One thing u forget is that u are only 17percent. Do u think other tribes will accept your behavour.Be civilized.

  93. there we go again giving MMD more time to continue closing UNZA and giving themselves huge salaries. Why can this fool HH jump on the boat meanwhile so that we can kick MMD out of office. Foolish tonga bull and whatever the case you will never get to plot 1.

  94. Can the HH fanatics answer my questions at post number 124? This is one of the questions that HH and UPND can not keep on ducking. Can his supporters try to come to his aid on the question of ethics?

  95. 128 and 125. Take note that when a rich man steals he will not take peanuts. When a richman steals he will take billions even if it means thousands of miners getting nothing. When a richman steals he will take billions from workers such as the Sun Hotel workers service charges without batting an eyelid. If given access to state coffers what guarantee do we have that he will not rip off the Zambian people as he attempted to do with the Sun Hotel Workers? He only paid back after being taken to Court. Is that what we need in State House?

  96. #137 and #140 if you were at katondo and thinking in those lines i was going to brush it out but i just can’t. Going by the flags i feel you should be the last person to propagate tribal sentiments on this blog, lets discuss issues guys. Am of the view that PF and UPND merge. 137 you pass through a lot of intimidation and ever showered with a lot of teasing statements. We should build this country together regardless of tribe, quantity of a certain grouping does not make it superior that what you would call a minority group. Don’t spear head tribal genocide, you educated people let the torn of you contribution not offend others.

There is basically no tribe in zambia that can go it alone.

  97. All dem political arguments only go divide de nation, yu nuh see it? That’s why Rasta nuh take part inna politics. Me rather unite de people dem thru music and herb. Jah know!

  98. In this election there shall be no deals. In 2001 Sata refused to support Mazoka because he (Sata) thought he had a chance. For now let the best man win. Those calling for coalition deals are scared of their own shadows and want to use others as political randers to state house. Just tell the poeple what you gonna do and they will support you. This talk of coalition which has no purpose is useless. What I have also noted on this block is that it is Sata supporters who are using unpleasant language which doesnt surprise me because even their leader is like that. No deals let the best person win. I hope somebody win not collapse from heart failure when results start coming out.

  99. As for # 137 your premitive thinking will consume. You have noyhing against HH other than his tribe, what a shame. Any way for your won information Sata’s numbers in Lusaka have dwindled because all those from eastern who voted for him in 2006 will now vote for Banda. HH’s numbers in Lusaka are intact and he is likely to benefit from Mwanawasa vote of those who originate from N/western, western and especially central. Sata knows this and that is why he wants HH’s support but it wont work. You can call it whatever you want but HH is not for useless deals which are based on greed and not principle. HH and Sata disagree on many issues how will they govern.

  100. #10 your party is a tribal party, imfact you are very foolish. How do you start tribal saying on the blog? We dont want to be ruled by a bull which will be slaughtered for beef after being voted into power.

  101. #140, it is the same mabisi and chibwantu that has kept a tonga child out of the streets of Zambia. at least tonga orphans have villages to run to and eat nshima with mabisi and drink chibwantu and continue with school. Your attitude is pure as a result of pride which lead to wrong choices like sata. Tongas are not foolish for having voted for FTJ in 1991. They voted as Zambians. Yours is tribe and not ethics.

  102. #152 is right. It so petty of #140 to down grade politics to that level. This shows clearly that Sata supporters have no issues to sell other than tribe. But I have news for you ‘not in this election, not this time’ Tribalism is usualy talked about mostly by those who practice it most. On this one southerns have a ligitemate case because clearly HH is the best of the three if it comes to real issues of the economy which is our biggest challenge at the moment. If I have a choice between having mabisi or kaponyas in state house I would rather have mabilis. If I had a choice between cattle or kantemba at state house I would rather have cattle. The choices in this elction are clear.

  103. Also those who say HH is tribal you give me at least 3 names of PF MPs in Luska who are not bembas. Do not mention Lubinda because he came from Libral party of Sakwiba. If you look at the PF candidates in 2006 you will notice that 70% of them were bemba and in Lusaka it was 90% bemba. So this talk of tribalism will not work this time round ba PF. Tell us your agenda for the country. What is your position on foreign investment, on education, on holiganism, on health and democracy. UPND was formed in 1998 and they have had 2 conventions (average 2 every 5 years) and PF formed in 2001 with no convention to date (average 0 every 7 years)

  104. #139,PLEASE NOTE THAT THE LAW ON LIQUIDATION STATES THAT ,THE FIRST PERSON TO BE PAID AFTR A COMPANY COLAPSES, IS THE CONSULTANT WHO BY LAW DISPOSES OFF WHAT EVER CAN BE SULVAGED.GET A BOOK ON THE LAW ON LIQUIDATION.IT PAYS TO BE EDUCATED ,CAUSE YOU GET TO DO SUCH JOBS.ITS JUST THE LAW,SO HH AS MANAGING PARTNER OF GRANT THORTON WAS A REPUTABLE INTERNATIONAL CONSULTANT.

  105. HH is wasting time..he will never win an election in Zambia.
UNPD is a Tonga party and we dont want tribal crashes like in Kenya.
    RB will win the elections…period

  106. #156 I agree with you. If Grant Thorton did not do the job somebody else would have done it. The only thing that happened is that at the time the offer was made HH was educated and ready and fortunately for him he did not have competition from the likes of Sata because Sata does not have such qualification and it appears even his supporters do not underastand such issues. Sata could not even try to apply for such a consultancy job. Now these are the people who claim they want to lead the country. Lead the country to where? mediocrity This is very dangerous.

  107. Tell us how u made ur money?is it not tru taxes payers money?zpa? am not sure if i can trust, its apity i can`t vote coz am far.

  108. #157 there are tribal clashes in kenya because of people like you who think that certain tribes should never rule the country no matter how good they are. This is the problem in Kenya and if you are not careful it will be a problem in Zambia. But for starters southern is economically sound and if we went separate ways we shall survive. We have energy, agriculture, tourism, hospitals and educated people. If you go to unza at any time 50%+ students will be tonga despite the fact that southern has the highest pass mark at grade 7 and 9. So do not push us too far or else we shall leave you to starve with your fish in luapula

  109. #159 if Sata had bought 1 cow in 1962 when HH was born he would be rich today but he chose to ivest in women with a chain of children. HH’s wealth is about 50% in cattle. He started with 20 and today he has about 8000 worth K8.8billion. He had a choice to invest in farming or women and he made a wise choice. Right now he has finished making an arbotior and he is making a beef canning factory so that he can maximise profits from his live stock. He does not want to continue being exploited by Keembe arbotior in Lusaka. People who are sharp see opportunity where you see a problem. If HH did not go to school there is no way he could have won the contract for liquidations.

  110. I need enlightenment:People keep on referring to the election in 2011, I was of the impression that whoever will be voted into office will commence and complete his own 5 year term? By let’s say we have elections in 2011, and this person wins again, would we say he would have finished his two terms in 2016? I am not sure people understand my confusion. Help me out you pseudo Law fundis.

  111. #152 is right, if a tonga, or soli, or lozi or luvale was to stand in 1991, tribal sentiments were going to be heard from some of our brothers and sisters who cheat themselves that they are “superior” than others, whatever they mean, We voted from all other tribes all over the country regardless of which tribe was the man coming from. However, we voted for what was right at the time, hence we as a people of Zambia, for what makes sense for us,period.Unfortunately HH seems to make sense this time, And I urge you not to keep on insulting tongas because they won’t keep quiet and this is not health for our country. Focus on the love of your nation and not tribe. one zambia one nation

  112. #117, Missy Boosty u r rt, #73 is sick in the head, needs a wholebrain washout and a mouth chilli cleanser immediately. #73 is so nauseating. LT, plse FLUSH OUT SUCH BLOGGERS IN THE TOILET.

  113. we r neither bemba nor tonga by tribe but we cant run away from the fact that southerners and westerners r the chief culprits in this issue looking at the past election results in respective provinces. If we want to develop, lets not look at the tribe but the potentiallity of the candidate.Lets call ourselves Zambians and not tongas or bembas.

  114. #163 do not call me names just answer my questions in 155. This is where you go wrong ba PF. I challenged you on specifics and instead of answering those specifics you are giving me names. Any way am not surprised this is typical of PF from there leaders down to its members. You have no agenda for Zambia other than tribal hegemony. The worst bit is even after you have lived in USA your mentality has not changed. Indeed it is true “You can take a man out of a village but you can not the village out of a man.”

  115. #164 the winner of the election will rule for three years and have fresh elctions in 2011. He stands and wins in 2011 he will have 5 years. This means that he can only rule for maximum of 8 years after that he will be former head of state. I hope this help.

  116. Koma ba #170 nangu nimipoto ninso. How do you call your fellow human being an animal.Insults are no longer welcome on this blog.

  117. 75% of the comments on this article is propagating tongalism as one fool (chengelo alumni) put it.Unfortunetly its only five guys posting these comments. Its a pity that they wont even go home to vote because of kaso kali na ba Tonga, so we shall see how HANG HOVER -HH is going to win.

  118. Zambian Airways debt swells

The Zambian Airways debt to the National Airports Limited has increased from 1.6 million United States to 1.9 million United States dollars. The debt is as a result of unpaid air passenger services and other services.National Airports Corporation Limited Finance Director, Frederick Banda, told ZNBC news, Monday, that Zambian Airways has not communicated on how it intends to off set the debt.

  119. Mr. Banda however, said his organisation has agreed with National Airports that the airline pays passenger service charges weekly to prevent the debt from swelling.Zambian Airways makes fifty thousand dollars per day in passenger service charges. As at September 4, Zambian Airways had defaulted payment by three months. It also defaulted in other services such as ground handling services, aircraft landing and parking services by six months.

  120. HH has all the qualities of a 21st Century president. He’s young, educated and has top-drawer investor relations but is certainly not a politician. To become Zambian president, one must be a politician and sadly, HH punches above his weight as far appealing to the Zed electorate who for years have been fed chibuku, vitenge and mealie meal at the eleventh hour.

Forget all the hints at tribalism; the young man is still green and wet behind the ears to mount a serious and successful challenge to RB or Sata.

  121. Tribalism rears its ugly head yet again. Assess the man’s policies not which part of the country he hails from.

  122. What an exchange of words!
One of the candidates certainly appears sober, civil, focused and mature above the rest. We can all see that.

  123. I concur with 176 HH is not a politician, hence he may not win the elections.I therefore feel that if i vote for him i might worst my vote and i cant give it to a snake COBRA SATA.RB you got my vote.VIVA MMD ABASH PF WITH YOUR SNAKE COBRA FULL OF VENOM.

  124. I mwe mwe ba tonga why do you behave this way?Now you see for yourselves that you are nothing BUT TRIBALISTS.WE ZAMBIANS ARE NOT FOOLS. we know why you are supporting your HICHILEMA because he is TONGA we are not looking for a tonga, a bemba,a ngoni, alozi or a luunda for president no!WE ARE LOOKING FOR AWISE AND MATURE PERSON for this high position.DO NOT BE FOOLISH.

  125. Chris! You are the man, facts and the truth pains, can’t you see that from the time you started putting your sensible issues across a lot of these bloggers stopped posting their rubbish. That is the way to go mate. And this is the kind of massage has to the people. No one is prepared to come up with what Sata really intends to do for the nation if he won. The only thing they are talking about is him being in touch with the kaponyas and drunkards. Tell us you PF chaps what is guy is gonna do to the country, bearing in mind that he is so old and uneducated.

  126. #180 which wisdom are you looking for? Isn’t being old or what? We are all Zambians for your own information and are prepared to support any candidate that shows that wisdom regardless of where he/she comes from. This was the case in 1991 when Chiluba came to power. You cannot tell me that he was only voted by the people from luapula, but across the country. So mind your language please. For that I can as well say that “DO NOT BE FOOLISH”, how does it feel?

  127. 156 and 158 Liquidators get paid by time spent. HH took inordinately long to complete the job so that many man hours amounting to billions were chalked up. It was either incompetence or downright greed which made him take so long. By the way still no comment on the ethics issue posed by eating with both hands in the Mosi-oTunya and Sun Hotel saga. The Sun Hotel saga followed by the crime of the centuary in terms of the service charge rip off from the workers tells you what type of man we are talking about.

  128. All this talk about Southern Province voting for Chiluba is irrelevant. We all know Titus came with a tide and almost every Zambian and his dog voted for him. Don’t hide under the guise of what was inevitable in 1991. Point me in the direction of people within UPND who have a solid economic track record to form a result-driven government. You lack the far-sightedness to choose for the future of your children and the country.

  130. There is no other leader who ascended to the presidency of their party on the cry, “It must be a Tonga”. Apologists say that he did not say so himself. If he did not object to such campaigns why did he not reject and renounce the surrogates who were doing so? Ethical people such as Obama denounce wrong things emanating from their camp and eject such people from their campaigns. Instead HH ejected and harrassed Ompie Nkumbula who rejected and renounced the call that it must be a Tonga.

  131. #191 It has been busy .Iam retiring to bed now.Lets continue advicing others to vote wisely. Kusiye kabotu basa.Nchita na nyebo komubele bwacha na kwasiya.

  132. Sata CV = Constable. Sata used to be a policeman before he joined politics . That is all we know. Which primary school, what Secondary education or college, non of you bloogers challenged are able to say.

I know my man Miyanda went to Sandhurst with the likes of Gadaffi.

Wheres the General kanshi. He has shouwn maturity during this whole fracas!!

  133. Can someone please remind me again; why is HH called a tribalist and Sata is not? Isnt it Sata who goes and talks on Monze community radio in bemba, campaigns in choongwe in bemba, all his MPs are bemba, doesnt want to campaign in non-bemba speaking provinces becoz they are apparently “irrelevant to his equation”, supported the stupid bid to make bemba the second official language in chiluba’s era…the list is endless. HH is called tribalist and yet Sata is the one openly practising it; RB is called old and yet Sata not only his agemate but is also nursing a heart-attack. Hmmmmm, something smells fishy. Or is it just becoz sata’s supporters are blind to reality?

  134. #200 Nkhosi you are talking sense and I can assure you that none of Sata’s supporters will give you a valid answer other than saying that he has wisdom only seen by them and no one else.

  135. GOOD LUCK H H,WE NEED A FRESH,YOUNG AND DYNAMIC LEADER WITH NO MUD FROM THE PAST.WE MUST REMAIN UNITED IRRESPECTIVE OF VILLAGES OF ORIGIN.

  136. Hey u Tongas shut up! Why are u so shallow that u have to go tribal? This same hh misses it next time around on October 30 and all your sentiments are for your clear constipation. Inhya!!!

  137. #11 dont be funny. we dont want to be drawn backwards by RB. Already he is compaigning using colonial tactics of dishing out food to lure the voters. The man is pathetic. I wouldnt mind sata or HH becoming president, not RB. Ija ni gon’ga.

  138. This is the moment serious well meaning Zambians have been waiting. To bring in a Zambian young, strong, and ready to move the country forward. A leader who does not feel intimidated because of educational inferiority complex. It this century being led by people of midiocre education or not any at all should be over. Country men and women let us move beyond this issue of tribe. You will hear him in all his speeches. Tribal wars are in Shaka’s time. It is time to stop MMD further plundering of the national resources.RB has no vision.Corruption and Plunder has become the norm in MMD. He was retired and enjoying his retirement. Let him rest.

  139. HH, you are the man. Pliz go go go forward you’ve got our votes. We had it enough and near what we just want is change for betterment of mother zambia so that even these chaps in the diaspora can come back and develop their country. I hope you guys in the diaspora are going real things and not wiping old muzungus’ asses. HH for president

  140. # 44 Chengelo Alumni You are so immature. You and your cronies are what will make HH lose. I want to support progressive people like HH but if he is surrounded by such shallow thinking (or non thinking at all) pipo like you, that scares me to death. Imagine the chaos that would result if Nyanjas or Lozis spoke in a tribalist tone. Go and embela bamang’ombe yebo. zwa!

  141. HH brought Lusaka to a stand still after his launch. I think we PF supporters are in for a rude shock. We better leave the internet and do more work. Moreover RB is eating to our votes. The Easterns will not vote for us so a foolish tongas, the foolish westerners and north westerners.

  142. #206 dont be stupid. This is not about tribal politics. And what makes yu think that you are not tribal when your comment propagates tribal division. Is HH synonymous to Tonga. If you have nothing to write about just shut up.

  143. Am well educated and I know tribe is not an issue in national development. What is interesting is that so many bloggers are in the diaspora and I wonder what tribes they hear people talk about where ever they are.If you are well educated enough, which I know you are, you must have been taught by Zambian teachers or lecturers of all tribes. Were you discriminated in any school or class based on your tribe? Why should it be an issue now. Most of you if not all of you have friends, girl friends, confidants, workmates from all tribes. If you dont have then you are a dangerous introvert.Zambia needs a man with wisdom to move the nation forward. We need a young and able diplomat for National Image.

  144. good luck bwana but i know that u are not going anywhere because u have been destroyed by yo fellow tongas coz pipo think u are also a triblist. SATA for now, viva PF

  145. Iwe Malinso- what is wrong wipping asses if you can feed you family. I know pipo who work for the council back home and they are always cring for money coz of non payment os salaries. We cannot all be Lawyers so respect other pipos jobs!!

  147. HH for president 2008!! The Gods Must be Crazy Part IV. for you to win republican presidency, u need to win in 3 provinces convinngly at least to make your other opponents trail you. Let us analyse current senario.

HH – Southern Province His strong hold (though chiefs there have
    been trampeting MMD songs)

Sata – (Copperbelt, Lusaka, both his strong holds), Luapula, Northen.

RB – Eastern (MMD New strong hold, Central and North Western
    province MMD’s 2nd stronghold.)

The writing is on the wall for HH. He will be a spoiler for either Sata or RB to make one among the two to loose.

    HH can’t Win 2008.

  148. Stop fooling YOUNG HH imwe.Dont let my brother loose the little that he has otherwisw.STATE house if for MEN like RB or SATA,believe me, whether you like it or not.Such positions are not for young pipo like HH who are not yet BAKED,it requires men of WISDOM finish.Remember GOOD things come to those who wait and patience pays,YOUR TIME WILL COME DEAR.Adorable advise,HH,you require solid 10 years from now to begin dreaming of state house.Dont compare youself to Kabila Joseph who is a commando.100 soldiers=1 commando.

  149. People should have a purpose of voting. I wish to warn the Tonga bloggers wanting to show their tribal inclination to HH just because he is a Tonga. Many of us are not Tonga and yet we seen him as the panacea (remedy or solution) of the backwardness of Zambia not because there will be any personal gain from him. Sata is equally a capable man but you dont need a doctor to tell you that after a heart attack you need good rest. Zambia needs a fit working president not one people will be scared of dying any time.It will also show that we are a serious well informed nation that is eager to move on.Sata has a dangerous foreign policy.

  150. Now I am convinced HH is the man for the future. I do not want to believe these location calendars LT is providing because they depend the IP address which is misleading. When people run out of ideas they start attacking people for nothing. Yes Tongas make 17% of the population and HH much as he gets most of the votes from Souther Province, I can assure you this youngman has done his ground work, Rypiah “sugar daddy” ku kavulamukoko is slowly but deeply showing his true characters. First from his own mouth we heard “vote for me because i am a son of the soil” when he was in Katete not long ago and nobody called him a tribalist. He started handing out sugar on account that it was from the..

  151. Contd 222… office of the vice president. As far as I recall the village of kavulamukoko is not among the villages that have reported hunger which is reported into the Disaster management unit a committee which we co-chair. secondly why should Rupiah now be the one handing out sugar, why did he do this in Zambezi in the middle of the floods disaster, why didn’t he do this in Namwala, why Katete and why Rupiah the acting president instead of his agents, not even the director of the DMMU can be found handing out sugar? #221, there is nothing tribal atleast for me, maybe other people, my wife is from the Northern Province, and as such the issue of tribe is not an issue. Guys, wake …

  152. Chengelo Alumni what is your pay back for prompting tribal politics? If u r in the states have seen any advantages of racist behaviours there?

HH should not be voted president just because he is Tonga but his qualities full stop. Grow up! I am not Tonga but I can still vote for him.

  153. All you Tongas has HH given you laptops to campaign for him on this blog where most pipo are in diapora and will not vote, he is just wasting his resources and the nation’s time we know at the end of it all RB is the winner, you tongas will scrap and go in hiding like ka Mwiinga has done!

  154. contd 224… up, this is time to make progress, there is no one who has given me a convincing answer to most of my questions. RB says he should be voted because he is an easterner, Sata has no meaningful agenda with his Given Lubinda.

  155. # 220.This matter at hand is very serious. Let us discuss it as intellectuals. How old was KK when he started to rule this nation? If we have the right tools of analysis, we will count the successes of KK. He killed tribalism through One Zambia One Nation. He built Hospitals, Secondary schools is all districts,TAZARA, Good roads etc. He was young, full of vision. Corruption was taboo.Today corruption is everywhere. We need to remove MMD because corruption is still rife.Lip service is being done to corruption. Ministries are full of people older than the mandatory retirement age of 55. RB and Sata will want to retain them;there are their agemates. The young ones now need to take over.

  156. GUYS SPARE A THOUGHT AND READ CONTRIBUTOR 219. BROUGHT ABOUT AN INTRESTING SCENARIO WORTH NOTING THOUGH IT’S HIS OPINNION BUT ALL THE SAME A VALID ONE. LET US ANALYZE OBJECTIVELY. DISCUSSIONS LIKE THIS HEALTHY.

  157. FORKS, STOP DREAMING and be real. HH is a very good and gentleman, but being good is not good enough for politics. The fact which we all know is that Sata is more popular than HH. So how is HH going to win? If Sata doesn’t win these elections its definately RB and that you know. Remember, many of you making comments are not even eligible to vote………….its either u have lost your voters card, relocated from your polling station or you have died.

    WAKE UP STOP DREAMING.

  158. #232 continue dreaming, please do not collapse on 5th November after the President Elect has been announced as “I, Ernest “Kaya Zina yapakati” Sakala, being returning officer for this election, do hereby announce the winner of the 30th October elections, as HAKAINDE “THERE HAS TO BE A NAME” HICHILEMA” and you guys better know how to pronounce the name of the your President!!!

  159. Honestly,HH thinks he can remove MMD from office alone. This is pure tonga selfishness.look at last election statistics.PF won followed by MMD then UPND.Wat makes him think he can jump the ladder.PF at the moment has the largest following and the best HH could have done was merge with SATA.SATA only requires 3 years to correct the mess then HH can take over. But with this kind of selfishness i doubt if we can ever vote for HH in 2011.

  160. I am going home to vote for HH. Even if he loses, deep down my heart of hearts I know I will me doing the right thing. Posterity will vindicate me one day. The country needs to go forward by people with vision.America was built by all nations. No one tribe will NEVER build Zambia. When we report for work, the output of our work is never graded as Lamba, Chewa, Mbunda or lozi. Why should this be an issue only when it comes to voting for a president? Look at Tanzania, DRC, Botswana, Namibia. There is a new generation of leaders. That is why RB falls out of the equation if we want development.

  161. #219, North Western is not only Solwezi where Tetamashimba is trumpeting MMD, so forget that part. Central Rupiah, since when? Copperbelt Sata? This is definitely being analysed using historical data? Get your facts right. Lusaka, Sata? Get your facts again. Rupiah eastern? Maybe? #231, yes we shall pose and analyse at the same time no one has monopoly of knowledge. I respect people like #219, he is just using analysis and we shall also provide counter arguments in a civil manner.

  162. Helo guys, its nt a question of where one comes from bt what they are able to do. And most of this misguided talk seems to be slanted on Tongalism and Bembalism bt truth has it that there are both good and bad Tongaz and Bambaz. And one thing for sure, some people may claim to be Bemba and yet they are either Ushiz or Bisaz thereby tarnishing the real Bembaz that hail from Northern Province. Ask Bwalya chiti to tel U th few Districts only in Northern where original Bembaz come from.

  163. His chance is as good as chipolopolo winning Angola 2010.The sad part is, for him to assume power he has to swallow his pride and enter into an electoral pact with say PF or MMD.He still wants to campaign in Lusaka and Southern only.If he entered into an alliance, lets PF, he would join Sata in rallies in Northern, Luapula, NW and still draw real crowds. He is such an intelligent, fresh, educated and young leader Zambia needs, how Zambia gets hin is another question? I was on his webiste hakainde.com, he really talks about issues, He has to work on his public appeal though.People want persons who can sell on stage.I guess sugar daddy RB has his work cut out too.

  164. Vote Chakomboka! Vote Chakomboka! Vote Chakomboka! Vote Chakomboka!Vote Chakomboka! Vote Chakomboka! Vote Chakomboka! Vote Chakomboka!Vote Chakomboka! Vote Chakomboka! Vote Chakomboka! Vote Chakomboka!Vote Chakomboka! Vote Chakomboka! Vote Chakomboka! Vote Chakomboka!

  165. None of the people against HH can argue against the issues he raises. His only sin is that he comes from Southern Province. Of the three candidates, he’s the best. How anyone can consider Sata as being the solution to Zambia’s problems is a mystery. But then, people have a right to be morons (like Sata himself).

  166. My friend ‘235’ like I said….you see…still dreaming sure at your age? Its 09:20hour please jump out of bed plizzzzzzz. HH can’t win these elections.

  167. Who is the vice presodent of UPND? and who is the party spokesperson? Don’t be cheap by puting a TRIBAL tag on UPND.All of you who call UPND as tribal party you just confess that that you are tribalists yourselves.Let us be Zambians and Tongas or Lozis. Almost all PF MPs are Bembas but you dont say Pf is a tribal party. Shame on you.

  168. HH Wapenga mudala, waloba ilyauma Go RB GO.
The Devil u know.HH is complaining about people surrounding RB, what of himself Sejani, Kapita, Murderer Kahenya,Tonga Tribalist guyz.

Come November 3rd RB and MMD IN POWER.HH tell us how much did u steal from Luanshya Mine. Kabwalalalala abwelanso.

Go RB GO , Umozi Kumawa.

  169. lets help one another by posting constructive comments. i hate this ugly trend of tonga, bemba, lozi, lets grow up! its not about the tribe but the ability of a POTENTIAL CANDIDATE to deliver to our expectations as a nation. zambia is not short of leaders.abash tribalism.

  170. kwena mwaiche 124 walitumpa just like u can neva be bush so HH can neva be Obama.they are both inteligent that u have seen but i dont understand y you hate tongas well i like them coz they are my tribal cousines just like i love any othe tribe what tribe are you anyway maybe a kachokwe?ya you stink with yo tuma lutu enlish knowledge. No tribe is superor than the other remember its one zambia one nation.zeus mwaiche grow up

  171. Guys, lets be realistic , all these pipo behind HH or Sata just want to chew their monies, its not time for Sata or HH , Pipo want continuity…. Am Not MMD BUT lets be realistic… The rest of you chaps abroad dont know whats happening here, continue bathing old pipo and cleaning the streets uko ku America or UK.

  172. HEY FORKS! THESE NIGGERS CLAIMING TO BE ABROAD ARE JUST HERE IN ZAMBIA, DON’T BE DECEIVED BY FLAGS. THEY ARE PROBABLY EATING TUUTE(CASSAVA. VOTE FOR ME!!!!!!!

  173. Every one is entitled to their own view but there is need for objectivity as we assess the candidates to come up with one worthy to carry the touch for the nation.RB could have been better if did away with the thieves his predecessor did away with; it is true that he never even dreamed of becoming Zambias President;will he curb corruption? is he going to manage the economy well? Sata may do well in the domestic Policy but is he able to build Investor confidence? is Zambia going to relate well with other countries under the reign of Sata. When we look at HH, he may build investor confidence and may help Zambia in the domestic Policy but should ensure the tribal tag is removed. HH is the best

  174. Ichengelo Alumni and Choma1I have Message for both of you gents. PLEASE GROW UP!!!!!

HH all the best Winners are not Quitters and Quitters are not Winners!!!

I have a feeling that you are heading in the right Direction.
Just ensure that you come out strongly on our religious inclinations for the Zambian to know that because this is Christian Nation and therefore anyone claiming to have a passion for the people of Zambia must be open about that. We don’t want you to come and get baptized when you are President. (only a fool will take my advise lightly)

I wish i had the time and energy to go tribal but i feel that is detrimental and backwards thinking.(correct me if am wrong)

    O

  175. Tongas i knew you to be nice and sweet people but what I have seen in the last few years has realy really made me sick you are all sick and deceived you smoke too much weed Wake up HH cant go state house he is too childish

  176. People dont be blinded neither Sata nor HH will win. UPND and PF should listen to the people and merge. UPND, FDD, UNIP and support from KK but never made it in 2006. This time around it is tricky as RB has impressed people on how he handled affairs from outside people think he is capable and right to continue. They cannot see beyond this. They have forgotten that he is UNIP and that the late (LP)MHSRIP is on record as having said that within MMD there was no suitable person to hold VP position; they have forgotten that LP praised MS for his ideas and that he did not like people who said things they thought he wanted to hear. This he said after reconciliation and forgiveness. HH and MS dont

  177. 262 cont/

HH and MS dont be cheated by greedy supporters that you could make win as individual parties. Have an indaba together for the sake of the loving Zambians and the poor who need you both!!!

  178. For your information, Zambia is amongest the poorest nations. To develop we need good international relations with the western, the eastern world. To continue to see Sata or RB as the solution is like an ostrich burrying its heads in the sand. Stand for what is right. The majority can be wrong. A mathematical normal distribution vindicates me on this. Quite often in class the majority perform poorly. Only a small percentile gets the best and the rest are wrong. So might be the case now. But a true zambian concerned about developing Zambia will look at the country first then self second.

  179. #261, I was watching Odessa Files, you should either read the book or watch the movie, you will learn a lesson about sweeping statements. The part I want to draw your attention to is a saying that I got from the that movie “Individuals are bad and people are not” I hope you get the gist, it does not mean that when a cattle farmer in senanga keeps money in the ground and its eaten by termites, then all Lozis keep money in the ground. read comment for #259!!!!

  180. Tonga Bull and Chengelo your campaign strategies just shows how shallow minded you are. You concentrate on areas where HH has already won and forego areas which will take him to plot 1. In the last elections HH got votes from the whole southern province where did they get him to? If your Tongalistic minds make you think Southern province is Zambia then forget about a tonga ruling Zambia.

HH will never rule Zambia coz he has a tribalism tag hanging on his neck. Go back to the time Mazoka died and how the tongas like Madyenkuku openly and violently fought that only a Tonga should succeed a fellow Tonga. That’s when we came to know about the existence of HH.The right heir,Sikota who had

  181. The presidential contest between HH and Sata (and RB) is like the Zambia chipolopolo at the Africa Cup.

No matter how many African Cups Zambia participates in, she will not win the african Cup. So is HH… No matter how many Presido Elections he participate in He will never Win the Zambian Election… Not because he is Tonga ,…but He has no ‘cuting edge’ to win.

This time, HH might even get less votes than the previous election.
But this democracy…and HH has every right to stand and contest.

HH’s failure to join Sata is self-inflicting political wounds. He will lick this wound come Nov on-wards.

  182. #260, yes it is true, comrade Sata has endorsed me for president after his doctor wife advised him to step aside or risk joining Levy at embassy park

  183. Without a feasible strategy HH dream of going to Plot no 1 will ever remain a dream a fading and frustrating one for that matter. As much as all reasonable Zedians would like the opposition to carry the DAY chances are very slim as defending MMD won’t be a TEA party.

MMD will continue due to uncompromising stand opposition parties have taken. This will mean HH joining Miyanda, BY,etc – Time is now WAKE UP.

Proud and selfishness can surely destroy a man.

  184. HH cant b matched to RB and KC(King Cobra, kaponya). These 2 are old and there brains and ideas are outdated! Its a pity though HH is likely to lose the elections, but deep down every true Zambian bemba, tonga, kaonde,RB,KC, etc he is the best and he’s the only one who can drive our country.

  185. Contd – made UPND popular together with Mazoka was unceremonously tossed out. TRIABALISM AT ITS WORST.
Comming to the launch if his campaign, I thought he started campaigning way back b4 Levy even became sick. Looking at his manifesto, he he’s promising to provide free education up to college/university. This is building castles in the air. Not even the richest nation provides free college education. Where the resources come from?. HH will end up like BY Mwila, he’s going to use all his had earned money on a fruitless, bottomless pity (UPND) and losing the 2011 elections again he’ll be broke. YOU CAN VOTE FOR HH FOR ALL WE CARE, HE AIN’T GONNA WIN.

  186. You chaps Im not MMD but lets face the Truth RB is going to plot one like it or not.I know that they will rig this election at any cost.Wake up from your slumbers neither High Hopes nor Circle Mata is going to plot one

  187. Let the best man win. If people think that RB is the right man he will still win even if HH and Sata merge. Please give people of Zambia a chance to pick their leader. Stop this nosense of mergers for the sake of it. Sata and HH look at issues of education, foreign investment, holiganism, health, size of goverment etc differently. Suppose they merged and won the election how are they going to run the country when they hardly agree on anything. I hope Zambians will look at what is being said by these leaders and what they have done in the past. I hope those who are in the habit of insulting or belittling others will be ignored by the people. Already RB is ignoring the Post which is good

  188. #266 – “Madyenkuku openly and violently fought that only a Tonga should succeed a fellow Tonga” and now he is MMD!!! Talk of sponsored agents, why did he leave UPND even after a TONGA took over, please have the patience to see beyond words!!!

  189. I like Tongaz because they really support each each. You can nevr see a Tonga let his fellow down.

They are peaceful and easily relate to Cows and Bulls, very environmental freindly.

They are good singers and like congregating on the only true sabbath.

They love a simple life and no exergerations.

  190. From Mwiila Nkopo
Dear Zambians, mine is an appeal. We need to go to the pools with a broader approach. Maybe i do well to remind the Zambian people that RB as an individual appears to be a good person, but what worries most of us is that he is surrounded by wrong people. Can you imagine VJ coming back surely. My fear is that wrong things may be going on RB may not know and that is what those behind him voted him for.
Another issue worth noting is the manner RB is conducting his compaigns. We need clean compaigns.Lets us choose on merit,We should not make a mistake. What is important is being a Zambian. Lets vote for a good Zambian.
HHHHHHHHHHHHHH is the Right man maybe.

  191. Fellow countrymen lets be realistic. We all know that HH, among the three candidates is the BEST. You can argue with or without emotions, with tribal inclinations or just out of ignorance…BUT FACTS ARE FACTS. HH needed to combine efforts with SATA………but alas its like they are going it alone so RB is set to be the next President. This is reality countrymen and this truth even hurts me. I only hope that RB will deliver to the expectations of Zambians. I hate to say this but i am VOTING FOR RB as a compromise. I don’t want to waste my vote. CHEERS AND GOOD LUCK ZAMBIA.

  192. On the other hand Bembas are loud mouthed and always up and about scheming something.

Its not surprising that most kaponyas are Bemba. However, this is their strength very innovative and practical and always looking at the bright side of things.

A bemba can easily sell out though to his advantage, just check history and you will see the role played in the slave trade in cohorts with the Arabs.

  193. #282.. We hear you. But the reality is that your beloved HH is NOT that popular to win a ‘beauty contest’ in Zambia.

Without resorting to scientific ‘polls’ called research, it appear RB will win followed by Sata and HH last. As a matter of fact I’ve requested LT last week to implement an electronic Poll on this Site..up to now LT web ‘experts’ are still writing ‘codes’

Anyhow, You can paint the whole wide world in HH HH, HH will not win.

  194. #214, 215 u are all dreamers! As for wena 214 u must be shocked that we can read through your very shallow intentions. hh is too minute to take the greater city of Lusaka to a mere stand still may be in your house which is double ‘h’d.

  195. If RB wins so be it. It is better to have RB than to HH and Sata form government which will not function. It is too dangerous for the country.

  196. it is rather unfortunate and disheartening to hear pipo not talk about issues. tribe should not be a reason to vote for someone to power. anyway sata has engaged in tribal talks, rupiah has done so and HH has done so too.sata talks too much without showing how he is going to increase money in my pocket and reduce tax. he will make our society to be like that of idi amin adada of uganda when the govenor said the currency was just too to worthless, rupiah was campaigns on contiunity, umm its hard for me seeing him do that with mbita chitala, vernon mwaanga and the rest of the oportunists in mmd, every person has his own weakness but HH’s strength’s out weigh his weaknesses,on merit HH is da man

  197. All honest Zeds know HH is playing into the hands of RB by joining a race he has no real chance of winning. All he doing is dividing opposition votes making MMD a dead cert. Remember “divide and conquer” tactics of colonialists? This is how the white man ruled for so long. RB must be jumping with joy. UPND need to stop-day dreaming and go back to the drawing board. They must re-brand and re-invent themselves so that they are more appealing to non-Tongas maybe even change the name and logo!! Failure to that they must merge with other opposition parties.

  198. The Easterner, like the mbiba is an underground operator. Like a steathy Bomber he operates easily mistaken for being dull.

However, this spicies are well known deep thinkers and the only ones known to have fought the British pre-colonial times with blood.

They are very crafty and manipulative. They are good at mind games and sophistication. Iam told nsolo and chess is dorminated by them in the Zambian circles.

  199. # 273 point of correction, Finland provides free education from grade 1 to university level. It can be done!! We only need to put our resources to good use. Sometimes we have money unspent from one financial year to another and simply means someone in Govt does not have any ideas but is just their the sake of power and plundering. Lets for once elect someone with a head on their neck not those dunderhead recycled politicians. They we take us backwards. Politics are politics lets look ahead.

  201. # 285 I am a true son of ulubemba. I am not only shocked for your shallowness but your lack of objectivity and clear ignorance on the part of ububemba and ulubemba. Iam Bemba and a very proud one at that. If you have nothing to write about I would rather urge you to keep your stinking comments and very tribal at that to yourself!

All that stems from a clear ‘inferiority complex’ and you think you can voice your opinion in your feeble attempt? Wasted energies coz Bemba is a language for a much larger part of this republic, no offence to other languages. Check the Almanac….

  202. I worry that HH will just waste away.He has joined those politicians who aren’t sincere with themselves, but overate their popularity.2006 polls revealed that HH’s popularity isn’t stronger beyond his tribesmen & women.Let’s face it, he is youngest, most educated but LEAST preferred in the top three candidates,WHY?Think again HH,or you’ll neva be PRESIDENT under your current setting. You are an intelligent man, don’t cheat yoself and don’t let them cheat you.Sorry but TRUTH.

  203. Go HH gO YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE AT THE MOMENT WHO CAN ANSWER TO OUR PROBLEMS. wE WANT LOANS TO UPLIFT OUR STANDARDS OF LIVING AND BE PROUD TO BE ZAMBIANS. gO hh for President. You will definately have my vote at least.

  204. well, HH will not win the coming election on 30/10/08.RB is the man of the moment,RB will win the elections i iam telling you the truth

  205. When are these guys (HH and Sata) joining forces? Without joining hands, history will repeat itself. According to my simulation model, it would be something like this. Copperbelt and Lusaka: Sata-1000 votes, HH-800; RB-500. Southern Province: Sata 50 votes, HH 1000; RB 800. Eastern Province: HH-50 votes; Sata-50; RB 1000. Western; HH 1000; RB 800; Sata-50; Luapula; Sata-1000; RB-800; HH-50. It’s simple arithmetic! Overall countrywide ratio in the end would be: Sata:HH:RB=1:1:2. You get the sense in the pattern??? These guys should hire me to be their Voting Projection Analyst!

  206. its good to see pipo exercising their democratic rights and freedom of speech….but the reality which i hate to admit myself is that come november 2 akachelo..RB will be sworn in and the political wolves jackals are going to EAT again…LORD have mercy on this country…

  207. Muna 182.in as much as we apreciate you are educated.Dont forget that the largest electorate is poor and uneducated.and dont 4get that the running of govt is done by proffessionals.politicians marely give them wat the people want.Look at most of wat the late president did.those were all SATAs ideas but wrongly implimented.PF his rich with Brilliant minds and we can take this country to greater hights.think about it bro.

  208. miss reality if u are there plz lets talk, you will have to convince me that HH performed poorly, bring it on with only five 5months before the polls he got wat he got and sata with over 4yrs he got wat he got,i dont think he performed well.generally upnd performed well country wide than pf who got only in 3provinces

  209. HH tell us what happened at Luanshya Binani Copper mines. Is it true that the fees you deducted from the procedes were more than half the amount recovered??? We on the C/belt will never trust you until you state what exactly happened. While there was nothing illegal about exhorbitant fees, where was the morality of you leaving Luanshya smiling with a bag full of money while thousands of miners and their dependants languished in nondescript poverty??? Govt. had to borrow money from WB to cover the hole you left. Once at Plot 1 won’t you do the same that you are condemning Magande and RB for?

  210. HH is a lame duck! He thinks he can pull a ‘Barack Obama’ on us but he lacks the charisma to pull any decent following. He claims to be clean yet ascended to the UPND throne via blatant tribalism! Saki, Patrick Chisanga & other senior founding members were capable of filling Andy’s shoes but a bunch of influential bigots within the party (incl. Mutinta Mazoka) declared that only a Tonga could replace Andy! All those on the blog hallucinating that HH will carry the day, you better take a reality check! The chap could’nt even get beyond Southern Province in 2006, give us a break. Even Cycle Mata stands a better chance than HH

  211. #298. Only God knows my dear.I believe God has already chosen the person who will carry on from where the late left. He knew very well even before the foundation of this earth that one day Zambians will find themselves in this situation. Dont worry God is able to even give us a better leader than the late.

let us not dwell on petty issues like tribes.Whether tonga, lozi, bemba you name it,God can raise a capable leader in these same people people you are today calling tribalists.peace loving zambians, lets change. Alanda umwanike.

  212. The Campaign period has just started and people are likely to vote for HH. He is the only candidate with qualities of a president in the 21st century and not the dual monisters in RB and SATA. Normal people who love zambia can not make such a terrible mistake. People can only vote for RB or Satan on tribal, corruption and regional grounds and not quality. Very soon Zambians will see the beauty of voting a young man with a vision. KK managed to turn the economy around when he was still young and the same with Mugabe. There is nothing you can get from old and historical brains apart from corruption. Vote HHHHH because he is still attractive. Abash monisters with stell brains. vote hhhhhhhhhh

  213. #310, yes it is true and that was the contract amount, tell me #310, if you in are in employment why don’t you donate some of the income to street kids and perpetuate their stay in the streets!!!!!

  214. How can HH launch the campaign now? He has been caught napping again…Sata launched his mammoth campaign rallies a week ago ie Kafue, Chilanga, Luangwa etc. Nomba ba HH he is going to Mulungushi for a launch that turns out to be a low key one. So when will rallies commence? HH no tactic! you will soon go in the like BY. VIVA SATA…

  215. most educated, talented, charismatic, energetic, young and with a vision for the future. The best candidate by far compared with the recycled banch of thieves who have been in government for over 30 years anhd achieved nothing. There is nothing new thry will do apart from looting the national resources as they have done in so many years.Use your heads and choose someone with a new vision for the future

  216. Someone asked about HH’s education. He is a graduate of UNZA (economics) I believe he has other post-graduate qualifications.
He is a technocrat – has applied his knowledge to building his
businesses – was a brilliant graduate sought after by many financial
companies – has sat on the boards of more than 20 local and foreign companies. Has clear knowledge of the markets, investment, trade etc.

  217. Yesternight i would have said Sata is the man but now am saying HH is the man. The young man knows what he’s doing. I was impressed with what he said on radio this morning hence my change of mind. I prayed that God may show me who to vote for and he did just that. I urge my fellow Zedians to consider praying before electing anyone. I love my Country and it hurts to see the margin widening between the rich and the poor. Vote wisely people under the leadership of the almighty. Thank you all I LOVE U.

  218. Guys lets be serious. Most of these guys blogging are not even in Zambia to vote as seen from the flags tagged to their comments. We who are here know what we want. These economic refugees will only talk and mislead you. Stay focused local Zambian and vote wisely of course not for “Bwezani”. Those of us who have lost voters cards, the replacement excercise is slated for 21-26September 2008. Lets replace them and vote enmass. SATA? HH? kaya? I am a voter I know who is on my card!!!!!!!!!!!

  219. RB will be victorious whether we like or not. Tell your leaders HH and SATA to combine forces if they want to stand ANY chance. The greed for power has blinded them and they are so selfish that none of them is willing to sacrifice for the counrty that they claim to love. What a pity, BAIKATA MPANSHI NAKABILI.

  220. HH embrace others, the idea that almost all Tongas belong to HH makes him a provincial minister. Wake up and work with all the provinces

  221. SHINKA MANYELA

HH will make even without Sata. He is definitely gaining more ground than Sata and this rb guy. Watch this space. Tonga Bulls stand up!

  222. #307 I understand what you are talking about but unfortunately I want to disagree with you where you say that what the late president did was Sata’s ideas, that is not true mate. Actually the person who played an important role during LPM’s reign was Magande who was initially UPND, so the plans you are trying 2 affiliate to Sata actually were adopted from UPND. You haven’t responded to my concerns that I rose somewhere pertaining 2 Sata’s plans for the great nation of Zambia. “What is his manifesto?” HH’s plans are very clear that is why I support him, not because he is this and that. Answer my question plainly, and I can definitely go 4 Sata if you can convinced me.

  223. It seems Zambians are still puzzled to who is there president.
Here’s a clue.RB took the driving seat wayback on 28th June, when late LPM went to Egypt.RB is temporary being refered to as an Acting president. With all the Govt machinery at his disposal only an insane & short sighted can see him not being the current president.
You should know that come 30th oct it will just be a formality 4 you Guys to go and vote for yr so called prefered candidate.
By Nov SATA will still be going to bed in his Rhodes park house and HH will still be going to bed in his kabulonga house.Plot one in mu chiloto.

  224. What qualities are we looking for in aman that is going to be our president? A lot of you are talking about the economy which to a larger extent is theory than practical. Zambia needs a practical man the likes of Sata. He has shown us what he can do with the little powers he was given as minister of different ministries. The man can make people move. some of you are just lazy chaps & that why you don’t want Sata.

  225. Teta about fuel prices in Zambia being the highest in the region due to taxes and importation duty… these are thing Sata has been speaking about for a long time now. We need someone with a past that shows for itself. PABWATO!!!!!!!!!!

  226. #304 you are right with your analysis but you left out central which HH will win followed by Sata. I think this election will go to the wire. Who ever wins Lusaka might carry the day. Lusaka is the battle ground or swing province. In 2006 it was western and eastern provinces which were won by Levy. I say Luska because people of Lusaka tend to look at issues and who ever will articulate issues properly will take Lusaka. Sata’s major problem in Lusaka is that his supporters from eastern province are likely to vote for RB. I expect HH to maintain or improve his 2006 numbers while I do not expect RB to get all those votes which were for Levy. I think he will lose substatially to HH

  227. Choma 1… You should disist from making religious beliefs a subject of discussion if you are catholic why should you attack sda.. if you should know eating pork is prohibited by the work of God its the bible that says so not sda church..sda church have rick knowledge of the bible.. Whatever they believe in is writen in the bible you should be careful in hating the church you are going aganist GOD. Because all there beliefs are bibilical if you want a study in the words of God, so that you know the real truth not lies contact me on this email: [email protected]

  228. #332 tonga bull? pliz i now can see and believe that tongas are tribalistic.tribe should not come into this election, pliz.after ba Mazoka,no wonder people were complaining…that another tonga.332 you have changed my mind.viva RB you are my next pres.its better they drive gxs than another rwanda.viva RB

  229. #340 the taxes on fuel have not changed from what Sata left when he was number three in the country. If he did not agree with those taxes why did he resign. Instead he accepted the high taxes and used the money to hire holigans to beat political opponents in Chawama. He also used the part of the fuel levy to bribe people at the MMD convention, remember K2billion. Sata is the mirror of MMD. It is like standing in front of a mirror but you refuse that the picture in the mirror is yours.

  230. Yes it is true HH will improve his 2006 statistics, Sata did a 5 year marathon tour and could not even convince 1,000,000 voters, HH did 45 days and convinced over 600,000 Zambians.

  231. I often wonder why the moment we talk of H.H, the tribalism aspect comes in. Could it be true that HH and UPND are so much on the tribal line?

  232. mwebantu ifyakusabaila ubwingi thats why u dont progress its true in zambia there s TRIBALISM especially with the BULLS lets just wait for 30th October it will show but vote wisely to show those who re under the table waiting for the food to be dropped by RB esp VJ who has resurrected from the blues

  233. On the Subject of who to rule, i will be open in the intrest of Zambians and the poor… We dont need a poor fellow who will first get rich b4 he looks at the the ordinally zambian.. as zambians lets emulate america there is no race or colour.. what matters is a person.. Sata is not good for our economy many investor well pull out of our contry… RB is a failure he found himself in that position becoz LPM was trying to please the easterners for voting for him.. he even was not LPM’s prefered candidate. He lacks leadership quality. Open your eyes zambians MMD should go.. They are the ones benefiting from the improved economic affairs.. The ordinally zambian does not feel it. HH 4 President

  234. My Bro #346, I think I’d rather give the man a chance in the driver’s seat than have another MMD candidate… anybody else except RB. I think it’s actually devine providence that this will be a compressed term for SATA, then we can see if he keeps his word. If not, come 3 years from now… The man has been speaking of practicle policies which certain sectors especially the ruling party try to dismiss as “quick fix” poloicies that can never work, when in actual fact, they’ve been tabling the same policies disguised as there own ideas.

  235. #348 it is because HH’s opponents have nothing against him other than tribe. They want touse tribalism to scare people but this tactic will not work this time. Even in USA whites are trying to label Obama as a moslem or ant-american because they ahve nothing of substance against Obama other than scaring voters. People have to look at HH’s friends and business partners to determine whether he is tribal or not. He has friends all over the country. He is not even a racist like some candidates.

  236. HH is a product of tribalism. Other people deserved to be at the helm of UPND better!! The chap is also a plunderer through his involvement in privatisation and receivership of RAMCOZ

  237. #353 the difference between Sata and HH in 2006 was 110, 976. If HH benefits from Levy’s vote in Lusaka, central and Western provinces which is more likely to happen HH will easily hit 900,000 votes. Sata is not a fool to be looking for HH’s support. He knows that following Levy’s death and RB’s candidancy the one who stands to benefit most from the absence of Levy in this election is HH. Sata also knows that MMD has strong leaders from Northern and Luapula who gonna campaign hard there which will further dimish his numbers and that is why he wants HH. In 2006 he never even thought of HH because he expected HH and Levy to split votes in Lusaka, central and western provinces

  238. Ba Zambia, there is nothing to discuss here the truth is HH came Third. Even in the coming elections he will be third. Ba Zambia you are the pipo who lie to our good politicians. Be real, period

  239. We are also not sure how the effect of the suspended PF MPs will affect Sata’s campaign machinery. Those PF MPs who are suspended will not be there to campaign for Sata in Northern and Luapula while MMD will be there full throtle. So Sata’s strong hold is under very serious threat.

  240. #356 well said, I agree with you, Sata does not have the same momentum he had in 2006 and the renegade MPs well that is there for all to see. #358 you support PF and please do not be blinded by your support be realistic a little bit, please back your assertions.

  241. This tribal thing is getting out of hand. I want to challenge all of you cowards to call any Bemba, Lozi, Tonga or Kaonde a tribalist in any of the social places you go to this evening and see what happens to you. I encourage all peace loving Zambians to sort out such people. Not even you tribesmen will assist you as your ugly faces turn gloomy.

I will vote according to what I believe is possible which is a better future for all of us. I will not vote for someone because I feel they are going to win. It is a wrong principle which I think has led us to where we are. Leave the politicians to vote for each other and not you. Lets for once change our mindset and believe in our abilities.

  242. #354 Iwe mwaice have some life, dont just bwata bwata without sense, every story has got its original, its a very well known fact that yr master HH came from blues to lead UPND bcoz of his being Tonga. He was not even in NEC of UPND at the time of mazoka(mhsrp). FYI, that tag will never leave him will it escort him to the Grave. It did not originate from this blog but from UPND convention in 2006!

  243. Number 345
In 2006, HH was not on his own. He was under the umbrella of UDA which included FDD and UNIP. This year he is one out. It will be a great challenge for him. And people like me keep on wondering why in the Southern Province people vote overwhelmingly for a Tonga. If the Easterners listen to RB’s advice and other people see the glaring truth of tribal politics and vote for their own it will be interesting to see what happens on October 2008.

  244. #358 it is you who is failing to adjust to reality. The truth is that what happened in 2006 will not be exact in 2008 especially in Lusaka. Levy is not RB. RB will not hold on to all Levy’s 2006 votes. It is had to accept but HH will be the major beneficiary. In fact in 2006 a lot of UPND supporters voted for Levy to stop Sata because they were not sure how HH was going to perform in rural constituences. HH ended up second in 4 provinces ie Central, eastern. n/western and western. He has already spent a lot of time in central and n/western since 2006 elections campaigning in rural constituences. He will defiantely do better than in 2006

  245. Mind you HH stood on three parties tickets UPND FDD UNIP. But this time around FDD and UNIP are support RB so HH will votes less FDD & UNIP.

  246. #363 I agree with you but also accept that his major benefit from UDA was the eastern vote and moral support from UNIP. FDD was in fact a distraction and that is why HH doesnt want pacts this time. As for regions I beleive in political bases. If Sata, HH and RB cant win in Northern, Southern and Eastern respectively then they have no business running for presidency. Charity begins at home. If anyone of these guys doesnt win in their home provinces you will hear coments like “he cant even win where he comes from how can we trust him at national level.” So you need to have a baffer or base. It happens every where world wide.

  247. And how many votes did HH garner from this useless alliance, guys get real please! UNIP stronghold Eastern Province, FDD stronghold Eastern province, with the regional politics of this country (if truth be said) then RB has not advantage with this backing. UPND delivered souther province to UDA, what did FDD and UNIP deliver?

  248. Like they say, We can only wish HH the best. He has to prove himself to the Zambian people by the way he conducts his campaigns and the policies that define his presidency. The outlined ones look very interesting but will the people of Zambia “buy in”? Which takes us to strategy and HH ned to employ a strategy which is appealing to all levels of society.

  249. #366 we saw this even in the primaries, imagine what message it had sent to the general populace if Hilary lost in Arizona or Obama lost in Illinois? Good point Chris.

  250. HH is a former MONK at UNZA and believe me you, ha has done his calculations right. Thus, HH going it alone is more beneficial for him to have a stable government come November 4,2008 onwards. So,I will rather “let us wait and see” as Dennis Liwewe our powerful soccer commentator used to say while commenting of football. To this end,let us desist from making useless statements and base the performance of this 2008 election on current issues instead of the past. Those who want to stick to the past eg #365 stay living in the past.As for us (progressive Zambians), let us take it according to the current situation and the future will tell the rest. Viva HH, the Incoming President to-be

  251. UPND finished when Mazoka died. That time it had a nation appeal, with Sichinga, Sakwiba, late M’tonga, Chisanga to mention but a few. When tribalists started advocating for a tonga president and managed to put “HICHINENA” in position through stage managed election that is the time UPND was burried. ZAMBIANS dont forget how Sakwiba was dribbled just because is not tonga. The best HH could have done is to say no to tribalist and form his own political party. Today my dera tongas he could have been the OBAMA of Zambia. Now that he agreed to lead UPND because they wanted a tonga presido only tongas will vote for him. This is the reason that RB is going through whether you like it or not.

  252. Let’s face the truth, In as much as it hurts to say and comprehend it, RB is winning. He is beating SATA coz of the simpathy votes he’ll get from areas where he would’ve otherwise performed badly. The situation won’t much different from 2006 with SATA coming second and HH third. One thing about SATA is that he connects well with people at the grassroots, people in the compounds and these are the people who vote in numbers.HH may appeal to the middle class but that won’t give enough votes to take him to plot 1. So let’s brest ourselves for another 3 yrs of MMD rule. For 2011 a lot of different factors will come into play, so I can’t predict.

  253. #364 You r absolutely right on the voting trends in 2006 where UPND supporters voted for Levy. This time round they will shift back to HH. Infact those who are not patisan voted for Levy as well just to keep Sata out. It was actually a keep Sata out election.

  254. In 2006 Presidential and general elections Ubwato (PF)seemed to have had a lot of financial clout but the Ubwato campaign of 2008 seems not to be well financed this time. The Financiers have stopped pumping their money in a party that seems to have lost its course and with slim chance to win. RB faka speed ………..PF is an empty vessel that makes a lot of noise …..PF is a party that labels other parties to be tribal and yet they failed to remove the log in their eyes…viva RB ViVA MMD

  255. #373 “ZAMBIANS dont forget how Sakwiba was dribbled just because is not tonga” Sakwiba is an opportunist, can you say the same about the PF/ULP pact, was he dribbled because he was not Bemba, think! think! think! please. Sakwiba September 30th 2006, “I mean for me I am already Mr Sata’s vice-president” Sata sometime after “We never had a pact with ULP in the first place” Just stay in the UK (going by your flag)

  256. #371, Please you can not forget the past. Its the past that gives birth to the present. What happens today will either have a good or bad effect on the future. Donot forget the past but learn from the past so that you dont make the same mistakes in future.

  257. Thanks very much #375. I am here to stay and make sure hon. Sata does not get to state house. I went home, to Zambia, for exactly two weeks. io meet people who vote. I pumped sense in the call-boys’ minds and finally, i left Zambia knowing that HH will be a serious force to reckon with in this election. May you all have some good blogging and take careful care always my fellow Zambian Citizens.

  258. #371 We cannot separate the past from the present we are all here bcoz of the past, we know that HH is triblists bcoz of the past, we know that HH plundered RAMCOZ bcoz of past. What is on today is bcoz of past, so my friend have life and respect the past!

  259. #380 What tangible things has Sata done that is there to be seen? He has never run a business nor a country before. At least HH is very success with his business. How about Sata, womanising and cigar smoking?

  260. Muna, Muna, Muna! There was a time when UTH was stinking and had no drugs. Sata as health minister changed things around. Cairo was as dusty as it is today, Sata planted lawn and flowers. As governor, he brought about those LUDC buses.

  261. Am of the view that this election should be based on real issues. It is not a sin be born a tonga, luvale, lozi or bemba. We should not only be seeing tribalism in others. Ask yourself a very simple question; WHO AM I SUPPORTING IN THIS ELECTION AND WHAT ARE HIS SUCCESS COMPARED TO HIS FAILURES? I strongly feel the young man HH is just but what we need now and not people who are full of sayings in their mother tongues and sugar daddies. HH, WE ARE FOR YOU ALL THE WAY.

  262. Ba LT bululu, How can it be a duplicate if it is not showing?
How I am I submitting too quickly with my first submision? Kindly fix otherwise twala mubwelamo.

  263. Crop marketing period extended from 30 September to 30 October. Maize price also increased from 45 pin to 55 pin. Extra 10 pin – FRA

  264. iwe chi #11, teddy bear wasn’t Levy’s choice of succession at all!! don’t you have any shushu within the shushu?? ask about the thick file on corruption that Levy ordered be done on Teddy Bear!!!

#388 not 99% support HH, which statistics are you looking at? coz even going by the last elections, HH didn’t get 99% vote in southern province…so your sample population is misleading…try re-working your H2!!!

  265. I have just seen HHs website. It looks like a kids art work gone wrong. Is that the President who is going to take Zambia forward technologically? Is that an indication of his judgement? How could he hire amateurs to design his site.Ba LT lend your technical staff to HH while you are at it even Satas site.Who designs websites mu zambia kanshi?

  266. TONGA BULLS 4 LYFE…. HH HH HH HH HH HH HH in kasama HH in mansa HH in mbala HH in mpulungu HH in Mporokoso HH in shangombo HH in solwezi HH in Kitwe HH, in Chibuluma HH in Ndola HH in Luanshya HH, in Petauke RB ugggh and in Chipata RB too in Lusaka HH, In Mongu – they dont know an election is coming yet.

  267. #387, you asked: why is it that 99% of tongas support HH? only serious and logical answers pliz.

    My answer:

    1. Most Tongas are educated and so they only think an educated man must be President. This leaves us with two candidates HH and RB.
    2. Most Tongas want development that they have seen in other countries like South Africa, EU countries and the USA to come to Zambia also; and HH represents hope for this since he (HH) has connections internationally with him (HH) seating on about 22 boards in reknown companies.

  268. These people where all along prepared to wait till 2011. Now that Levy is dead, all of a sudden it is urgent fot HH or Sata to rule. They know for sure splitting the vote will give MMD a rigging opportunity on a silver plate. Why can they not just unite. Ba Sata can rule for 3 years and HH therafter. At this rate, they will surely loose. All the MMD will do is simply steal votes from one and give to the other until Rupiah has a simple majority. Doe’s it take a genius to see this?

  269. 3.Most Tongas work hard for the earnings without stealing, and it follows that they want a President of Zambia who will not steal using lies – n HH shows hope in this category since he works hard and has already made his money unlike the current MMD’s RB who is probably waiting for a chance to increase the salaries and allowances with responsibility allowance for constitutional workers and Ministers just to give themselves money which they do not deserve.
4.Most Tongas have witnessed plunderers stealing money from the Zambian People and are fed up with this behaviour that has been perpetrated by those who want to make Chiluba got free n his trials abandoned

  270. #395, do not worry about who sahall win these Oct. 30, 2008 elections. We do not want PLUNDERERS who ran away from MMD in 2001 after Chiluba handpicked Mwanawasa to re-group in the name of PF under a sponsorship by UPND using HH’s money. We also don’t want the MMD to continue ruling Zambia. And so we are offering you an alternative government in the name of UPND led by HH. If you do not want HH as President, you are welcome to vote for a Person you feel will represent your needs.
If you are with us, who advocate for REAL CHANGE, it is not too late to join us in the winning team of HH as Zambian President. Otherwise, you will only have yourself to blame if your wishes do not come through

  271. If you feel hon Sata represents most of what you believe in, please we are not stoping you from voting for him (Sata). All we are writing here is that, join us by supporting the Incoming President of Zambia HH to-be. You can do this by telling everyone in your house, in your neighbourhood, your relatives wherever they are by phone or personal contact, all the people who look upto you as an influencial man/woma, anyone you can reach in the bus,mini-bus, at your work place, everywhere except in church and during church services.
Thus way, we will avoid the getting into a useless PACT with PF as as PF-UPND marriage of convinience to allow Hon. Sata come and forgive found-wanting Chilu

  272. …Thus way, we will avoid the getting into a useless PACT with PF as as PF-UPND marriage of convinience to allow Hon. Sata come and forgive found-wanting Chiluba. So, there is no need for insults or belittling HH or indeed any of the aspiring Presidential candidates.Let PF go it alone if they think they have something to offer to the Zambian people. So should MMD and definately must UPND do. Let the best man WIN. Personally I am happy with HH winning the election, but RB will just be fine and certainly not Sata – who is trying to come back with another skin when we know exactly how he performed as the righthand man for Chilubas 3rd term bid.Vote HH,vote wisely country men and women.

  273. It is unfortunate that Tongas think having cattle makes one rich. Masai ppl have cattle, are they considered rich? Yes a Tonga man is rich with cattle, but just to get a Tonga woman out of it. Mention one rich person in the world who boasts of cattle. Zero. Real ranchers use hormones to grow their cattle that they can sell them quick, otherwise the cost of raise one animal dwarfs the profit. Why do you think that in most countries farmers are heavily subsidized? Ala bane, Ngombe munani, tefyuma. By the way do know that fish farming is better than raising cattle? Who wants to eat red meat?

  274. Hhehhehhehhe HH waboola. Ask the Luapulans how cattle farming taken ther by the would-be Incoming Presidnet, I am well informed, has changed there lives.

  275. Probably you think Bill Gates, Oprah, Ted Turner, Maloof Brothers, and the rest are cattle farmers. Even Sims, the Mexican multi Billionaire does not mention cattle in his riches. So, wise up kachema.

  276. Maestro Hhehhehhehhe – no one can dispute what u said… it is a done deal, anyone who doesnt vote HH but wants a better zambia is just plain Tribal…. abandon ubwato and vote HH

  277. Ba Chengelo, your tribal rants will always overshadow your contributions. Nothing you will say on this blog will ever be taken serious having read the hate you have for other tribes, more especially Bembas. So, don’t waste your time, if at all it is wasting on your part.

  278. #404, Does President Geroge W. Bush have a farm in Texas? Doe he (GW Bush) have catlle or not?

Please, “think before you ink” my fellow Zambian.

  279. Is Bush rich because of cattle or because of his father’s investments in oil? Damn, we have brainless people residing in the EU area. How many animals does Bush have on his ranch? Didn’t I tell you that smart ranchers use hormones to raise their animals to reduce costs? Are tongas like you doing the same? Now you are making me use small “t” to match your brain. Damn, what about the Masai? Are you going to address that question?

  280. we have my vote HH we are counting you to bring growth to this nation and improve the leaves for the people in zambia.all the best HH

  281. WHY ALL THIS TALK ABOUT DRIBBLING SAKWIBA AND HH BEING A TRIBALIST.FELLOW COUNTRY MEN LET US FACE IT THE TWO PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES RB & SATA ARE OLD THEY HAVE BEEN THERE SATA IN THE FIRST & SECOND GOVTS LET US GIVE THE YOUNG MAN A CHANCE TO CLEAN UP THIS COUNTRY.VIVA HH GO UPND
