MMD confident of a win

Police keep vigil at Lusaka Civic centre during counting of results.

MMD Presidential campaign Chief Executive Officer, Mbita Chitala, says he is confident Acting President, Rupiah Banda, will emerge victorious in Thursday’s election.

Mr. Chitala says the election results have not yet been announced for the MMD’s strong hold, particularly rural areas.

He told ZNBC news that although the MMD has been trailing behind Patriotic Front, Michael Sata,he is confident the ruling party will carry the day.

Mr. Chitala said the remaining constituencies in rural areas will enable Mr. Banda win the election by a wide margin.

And Mr. Chitala is happy with the manner in which the president election has been conducted.

He said the election has been conducted in a peaceful manner.

  1. I am 99.99 percent MMD will win

Sata is a good comedian. He has nothing to offer us, his promises are empty

Tongas have also no place at state house
    amen

  2. Analyzing 2006 results in comparison to 2008 obtaining results, here are my deductions so far:
    1. Sata has significantly increased his winning margins (by as much as 3-fold) in areas that he narrowly won in 2006 i.e Northern, Luapula and some constituencies in Lusaka and CB. Importantly, he has dramatically reduced the margins by which he is loosing (about 2.5 fold) in areas that he previously lost in Northern and Central provinces.
    2. Given the scenario that HH is heavily spoiling votes for RB in NW and Western, while Sata is doing the same (better in some instances) as he did previously in these areas, and considering that HH is nowhere near the finish line, it is logical that Sata wins.

  3. #4 You are making my day more better than I started this morning. Continue praying mother Zambia. God knows the truth which will come out sooner than later.

  4. I know these chaps have done their homework but all they should know is that they are just imposing themselves on us which is very unfortunate and i feel its only GOD who can save us from this MMD its why they’ll keep dying in power rapidly. Mr Sata has spent alot of money campaigning but all these chaps do in the end is rig its so painful. Its obvious to any right thinking zambian that people where voting for change. I will never vote again! We love u SATA you are our president a really hardworking man, God bless God bless Zambia

  5. Bola panshi guys, ukutangilila teku fika..
look out for a late rally by MMD, already we can see that the huge lead that Sata had earlier in the day is decreasing. MMD to bounce back, watch this space!!

  6. Sata’s in his strong hold Lusaka, copperbelt and Luapula has lamentably failed seal the race. All are but finished submitting. Commulatively with a total of 1,450,000 votes they hold, Sata has failed to hit even a 800,000 vote benchmark. The remaining constituencies are hard or impossible defend his weak lead.Winning required him to pull like HH in Southern commanding 76-96% in all constituencies.Sata is vulnerable to defeat in the next few hours. If wins we will congratulate him so should you to RB.

  7. Hope the results wil be as u hav said mr chitala.yo candidate may nt be the best but the otha option(sata) is not a good option.don’t celebrate ba pf the results are stil coming

  8. Going by the current trend of voting by region or ethnicity,it would be prudent if the new constitution could introduce the federal system in Zambia to enable the so called minority tribes to have equal representation in Government.
Otherwise, the majority tribes will continue to dominate others through block voting and as result we know the catastrophy of the undermined groups.
May the new president heed this timely advise.

  9. Look at the gaps for sata in the released results in NW,Southern and Eastern.expolate from there on.Its not rigging but strategy of knowing one’s strength.

  10. Shame, really anything but MMD will do now! These guys are crooks and know what they did. Every dog has its day. The sad thing is that its the same people benefiting at the expense of the majority of the nation. All our outgoing presidents have failed to prepare a prospective leader to carry the nation forward but rather shield their selfish agendas. Are we always going to be led by a default leader? Shame………

  11. There are still significant numbers of constituencies not yet reported in all provinces, including Northern, Luapula, Central, NW, W. But going by the current trend, it is unlikely that RB would pull a major surprise. He may close up but not necessarily win.

  12. mr chitala, stop making such suspicious statements.thats why u always start with these provinces so that u do youR thing in villages and cool us down!NEVER,mwanyafye, twalimishiba.
JUST BEHAVE YOSELVES AND GIVE THE PIPO OF ZAMBIA WAT THEY WANT.
    VIVA PF! VIVA PABWATO!

  13. THis isnt even about rigging, I think Mbita has done his calculations. Otherwise, the race is still 50/50 and I cant blame either PF or MMD right now when they say they are winning. Lets see the results. Its now a game of wait and see, hope Sata’s weak heart can withstorm this trying period. If it pulls through the shock then we can entrust him with leadership in 2011. The money he spent hiring choppers- well am sure he knew that this was a gamble. Even if he wins some of it was borrowed, how does he repay- govt coffers and sticky fingers. You dont win either way!

  14. i can’t believe these guys are still serious about rigging….indeed a human being can be very selfish, and guess what,if sata started a war,i wouldn’t blame him coz at some point, enough is enough.sata has been nothing but civilised and patient and has worked very hard too, relentlessly.the only answer is to get out of this God forsaken country….am one more professional the country will loose…

  15. It would amaze me if the 2006 scenario had to repeat itself. For one thing, it is already a day and a half after elections and the counting is being done electronically. How much more time do they need before they announce the final results? Come on, we’re talking about less than 6 million votes count!

  16. #12 TYCOON

Who told your president to go and borrow money which he cant pay back???
Party need donations from sponsors not ba ngongole ati i will pay back when in office.

  17. 31 I have an idea of your mental status, of all things you just picked that from the picture? There are plenty other striking things in that pic!

  18. Where do the big numbers come from in these rural areas? If MMD wins under similar circumstances like 2006 we will probably need some talking to reconcile the interests of urban and rural areas- perhaps gov. of national unit.

  19. Please use English so that we get what you are saying. I am sure this is an English website. If you want to use funny languages on this forum go to Fya Bukaya! This is for chatting in a language that is the official language for Zambia.

  20. You like or not you are in the boat. Bonse emo tuli Mubwato. Bulesenda nabashilefwaya.Ahhhh! thats the good part with Sata’s Boat, its not like Noah’s boat which was up to your choice. But this one Mmmmm.. its different! It is taking even those who DONT support the CAPTAIN

  21. You guys please try to be realistic.Am on the ground in luapula monitoring the elections. This so called voter apathy isnt there. The voter registers were manipulated to increase the number of ghost voters.Imagine the polling station that i was manning had You guys please try to be realistic.Am on the ground in luapula monitoring the elections. This so called voter apathy isnt there. The voter registers were manipulated to increase the number of ghost voters.Imagine the polling station that i was manning had

  22. Can everyone stick to the subject; I mean, keep updating and analyzing results instead of throwing kitchen-sink stuff at each other.

  23. dats vj at work. But HONESTLY speakin y do PF think that Zambia is made up of lusaka central c/belt AND Luapula. They say dat ounce BEATEN TWICE SHY. This is wats happenin to the titanic. It has started to sink and by 2moro it will be fully submerged in the WATERS OF THE MMD. Hold pf…………

  24. Ba f1kamba si mu na yende muku vota and you want to complain of rigging. Stop your silly soap operas tuma supoorter twa pa internet. You should have gone to cast your votes. Low turnout in urban areas could only be good for RB. Sata’s strong hold if you forget is urban areas. Nomba ba ngwele you were just watching from sidelines.
Nivanu ivo. I predict RB will win. See you in 2011.

  25. thats a man who’s on the ground no PF official has said anything so far let alone upnd, seriously i now dont believe any keyboard pundit who is releasing results on LT blogs MMD the well oiled machine trust in pankoloko and u will always be on the winning side ati pabwato mupele abena ‘Jack Sparrow ‘ bu president? those are pirates not sailors.

  26. #29, don’t lose heart. Its not the end of the world. The only problem with this years’ elections is that all the four presidential candidates are not presidential material, that is the only curse we have. If only one credible candidate stood up we would have been feeling better than this. Or if Miyanda started very ealry campaigning, not just joining the race at the finishing line, that was very silly of him.

  27. Sata says he is winning its ok MMD and not RB say they are winning its a problem people be fair these are not the first or last elections we are going to have you need to change your attitude. Winning big in your strongholds does not mean you have won its only stating the obvious.Learn to see the race through to the end let the talking be done by the politicians you have spoken thru the ballot.
As Africans we give ourselves a bad name because we ourselves bring the word rigging into public for the whole world to see. How else do you expect others to judge you. Only we will remove this picture of corruption and so called vote rigging from african politics and it doesnt help t

  28. In urban areas,it is easy to communicate & travel so as soon as counting is done, results are communicated to HQ,there are some places in Zambia that are really deep in the countryside & it’s almost impossible for an average car to reach neither is there proper communication systems or electricity for use of fax machines. In the last 2 elections,Mwanawasa was always critically ill with BP,if he knew he was gonna win then do you think he would have been getting worried?
On the other,it is a common fact that MMD used to play around with results from rural areas but this time around i think they’ve not been given any chance.Better RB than Sata though HH would have been far better.

  29. Am back now and waiting for the official announcement by Judge Florence Mumba at MICC.

I am here now to take over the updates from the Zedians who were there the whole day.

  30. Zambia is not just Copperbelt and Lusaka! The other parts of the country especially the rural areas have more population than the two places that Mr. Sata’s ‘popularity’ is high. He made the same mistake of ignoring these areas in 2006, and they may be his nemesis again inspite of The Post newspaper campaigning for him. RB? Well ….. its a choice between a rock and hard place!!!!! Surely mother Zambia!

  31. Congratulations Sata . finally your dream has come true!!
    here is how

So far 918603 vote counted against 930282 (91%)cast of which sata has won 44.4% counted so far. Therefore even if akulu mphuno won all the remaing votes he will still be the loser!

  32. Results from the rural areas have always been MMD’S rigging killer punch. They used it against the late Andy in 2001 to give the late Levy a victory he never deserved. The technique is simple and doesnt require a genius to figure out.It involves anouncing the results in the opposition strongholds and the find the balancing figure and finally add a few votes to deliver the victory. These chaps are evil and extremely power hungry. Where as Sata is not my typical candiadate just like RB, it would be sad if he is cheated like Andy was cheated.

    Lets wait and see.

  33. 51, she didnt announce at 20hrs? Are you pipo still waiting? The radios have gone off and mobile phones not reaching, its a relief to see you back, some chaps are giving us questionable data!

  34. I have unofficial results.Sata has won.MMD is contesting some results. There was massive voter apathy in rural areas. It is impossible for RB to catch up.

  35. This weekend we celebrate Sata’s victory and next weekend Obama’s. 2008 has been a wonderful year! We give thanks to God Almighty for being so good to us.

  36. ati bwanji ba pf. us ba MMD are smelling victory. Sorry tell ba sata to try again 2011.the problem is that you guys celebrate before its time to. nway its one zambia one nation. come monday Rupiah bwezani Banda will be our fourh president. awe mwandisorry mangi. Viva MMD

  37. PF stands for POOR FINISHING. The count started well but now it is getting close. Mr Sata should consider renaming his Party come 2011. Maybe then, he might win by coming from behind like MMD

  38. i believe that justice florence ndepele mwacande mumba is more principled than that soft spine worm called bobby bwalya and another lady whose name i cannot remember but she is now DCJ. mumba has levelled the ground and she is able to stand the pressure emanating from big noses. well done, judge mumba, you did not serve at the hague for nothing.

  39. Hey play it cool… Sata is leading over half so were is this RB coming from now…. hahahaha again same shi t … we know u i blame the people.. ( someone) ……………i guess u want a big show by rigg… this time u wont get over it in a nice way we are ready for blood shd“` so careful if u have to rig…

  40. This race is too close to call, but I think Sata, failed to utilise his strongholds well. He is dropping votes so fast and furious. The black Pearl or bwato might hit a rock.

  41. Never count as chicks before – eggs hatch. You might end up faiting for nothing. RELAX PF GUYS UNTIL THE FINAL WHISTLE

  42. #53 Please let us avoid giving out incorrect information so that we do not give people false hope. Sata is leading but it is important to make it known to his supporters that things can change. In this way we can avoid potential riots. Zambia has 150 consituents and only 77 have been counted so far. Let us all show responsibility even if we are in cloud nine. The elections are over but we still have a country to run.

  43. #30 CHWE CHWE… I feel our president who goes to kongola is better off than your president who dips his fingers in th state coffers just to finance yo devils club MMD and forcibly get donations from companies.. Its why you yourself are poor including yo extended family. things are not right. nkala na nzelu chipwali iwe!

  44. Hah hah hah! We have exponentially moved, narrowed the gap and now closing it then defeat of PF.the gap is now 5ok but Western,NW and Central are tilting Sata with shocks.

  45. Ba PF my fellow bloggers, bushe muleimona shani, kuti PF awina, anonymous, any comment, natina VJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJ

  46. ah people wat time are the total results being announced…its midnight kuno ka elo tulo nato yaba.gelo wapa zed afuna kugona but she has to know her president before she sleeps.ok mwebantu pliz call me on my digits when the winner is announced….+919005608093…thas da ka number.jus beep ayi!

  47. Fellow PF supporters, no need to work with threats here please. Our man is a peaciful and he is winning, we all know that. This is the last storm before the calm, then the boat will triumphantly sail into State House harbour.

  48. Most of you on this forum were still in your fathers’ waists when we fought against Kaunda that is why you think Big Mphuno is a better leader. William Banda who was dishing out money at Big Mphuno’s house a few weeks ago used to whip people for being MMD when he was lundazi governor. freddy was somehow right when he deported him to malawi. Worse is the fact that Big Mphuno is kaunda’s muramu.

  49. #65: Truely PF stands for poor finish. Just like the Zambia National soccer team. Whenever they start well, just know that the ending would be very painful. Hard luck Mr Sata, your perfect seat is that of Opposision leader. You will give MMDs RB assigments to study.

  50. But ba MMD guys mwabuka earlier on the PF cadres were blogging away 76 is a touch of class ati ‘ 71 ulishilu?’ ……LMFAO iyo kwena twalamonako ukuleya ubwato.

  53. # 88,

RB has never been Governor of Lundazi. When did that happen? The only Governorship is that of Lusaka as senior Governor.

  54. 83, I am cautiously hoping that MMD take the day. The figures are impressing me. Earlier I had asked for mathematicians to do the sums, I think there is hope in the numbers and some factors, like MMD claim the rural areas are their strongholds, then we have been praying to God to let his will be done, factors are many for my cautious hope….what do you think? The latest figures are testimony if they are anything to go by, the margin is now getting thinner. No heart attacks please, Magande said no funding of non essential projects! (eg evacuation of opposition to Morningside…lol)

  55. KEEP SENDING RESULTS BA ZAMBIA, THOSE GUYS IN ZAMBIA UPDATE US IN DIASPORA TUKABWELA SATA NGAWINA, UPDATE US PABWATOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  56. I agree with the gentleman who suggested that PF be renamed by 2011 election. I propose that it be renamed BF (Better finishing)as opposed to PF(Poor finishing)

  57. ANONYMOUS, I WAS TALKING TO MY MADAM THIS MORNING ATI SATA NGAWINA TULEYA KU ZAMBIA, WE ALSO HELPED IN SPONSORING THE SATA CAMPAIGN SO NGAWINA CABINET OFFICE NJIKATA… PABWATOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EUROPEAN UNION………………….OLA

  58. 91 is that the result from ECZ at 20hrs? It looks too good to be true. Tell me before I pop wine and get dead drunk alone pa terminal….

  61. 113, I tell you, life is too short to cry over snakes and toadfaces’ loss. I wanted RB but I will be magnanimous and accept whatever scenario and for all the sacrifice of blogging non stop past 24hrs, neglecting schoolwork and all, I will surely pop win. I hear the margin has now narrowed to 40, 000…we are winning

  62. 106, thats a big decision. Move becoz u want to and not becoz one politician wins, mukalila muchi tundu tamwa ishiba! LOL

  63. Anonymous try, zambiaelections.org, ECZ Web , elections.org.zm is not updated yet, lst update was at 16hrs, Still Kingcobra is leading.

  64. If there is such a thing as rigging going on in Zambia at the moment if it where me i would have layed the foundation the time the Body of the late president was on tour RIP if that offends anyone i apologies in advance

  65. I think the results are loud and clear. MMD has carried the day. We have 10000 polling stations with polling agents representing parties to witness the vote count. And i assume that all polling agents are accountable to their respective parties; and am sure PF and UPND polling agents have relayed the indicative results via sms or calls to there respective parties immediately after completion of the vote count. Am convinced that with the vigilance exhibited with the ballot papers tracking. its therefore assumed that the respective parties and the POST could have the final results by 18hrs from there agents. And that the results could be in favour of the ruling party.

  66. Pabwatoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

    VIVA SATA
    PABWATOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  67. Check the ECZ for official results by constituency,MMD is driving fast & furious,i have now lost hope on our man HH but we will mobilise resources again so that come 2011,we will be in Parliament & Cabinet under HH.

  68. aaah, but when I go to zambiaelections ,org, I am seeing only results for 77 constituencies. Then I also dont like their disclaimer ati raw results, I want the well cooked ones from ECZ, which I believe are coming courtesy of Munkoyo? Cant contact zed and cant listen to radio, naba bloka balya njikwite

  69. Sata is better in the opposition…imagine how boring the opposition would be without his jokes. Zedians pliz pray with me that our dear country men and women in the rural areas keep this man in the opposition.

  70. Waziona and Munkoyo
That is true we should all concede when our preferred candidate loose that means when the votes have been fully counted or say there is only 5% to count and diff cant be made up. I for one have no particular candidate but since there is only 2 candidates in the race i will put my money on RB if Sata wins i will congratulate the PF supporters and you should do the same so we maintain the peace

  71. 132 dont worry we have won already check for ant rigging zambia, we are on 147 constituency… PABWATOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  72. Am forseeing a situation where Bwenzani will go through, their strategy was to first announce the results in sata’s strongholds.
The boat is about to hit a hard rock, the zambian river is rocky in rural areas and southern province stream.

    Wina a zalila.

  73. # 122 it has reached 93 constituencies as at 9 pm zed time. Sata has 41 percent, RB has 37 percent while HH has 20 percent. In three hours RB will probably overtake sata because 4 points difference is too close to call

  74. Though the race is gotten tighter for Sata, as his strongholds have already been announced, even a narrow win by RB will not produce a power sharing deal Sata desperately wants.MMD has the legislative numbers not short of a Qorum to form Government.

  75. The truth is we are still stack in the past.Sata or RB niba mposa mabwe. We need managers to move the country forward. unfortunatelly HH has been tribalized. From the look of things he is tost. We need young blood to get into the thick of things…. just my humble opinion.

  76. #145 it was going to be a very clean sweep had HH and Sata sat together to share the positions. Sata should have gone first for three years then HH would have taken over! simple as that.. Nomba abakalamba ba Sata you cant trust him kwena.. elyo ba HH nabo ni fast forward.. good things come to those who wait sometimes.

  77. 144, power sharing cant work pa zed. Its not even an option becoz our Constitution, unlike Kenya and ZIM which say winner should get 50 plus 1%, ours is simple majority. Even a win by half a voter (am sure there is half a voter kuba bemba- this is a tribal cousin joke, dont shoot me!)is enuf to put a head of state into plot 1. Dont knw yet if this is good or bad.

  80. Whats happening to elctions.org. Since the ind turned against sata, they have stopped updating the results..hehehehehe
RB can now move on and punish the post with that libel law suite. Baya Sana

  81. pabwatooooooo………you dull people. pf made more mistake now than 2006 elections. mmd will now. see for yourselves. they will finish sata first and move to sourthen and then western, last n.western. where is your smoker. see for selves. these results will be clse at the end.

  82. Its not advisable Anti rigging are a fake NGO. remember the fake alerts? the Kafue truck which up to now no one has seen? Kelvin must answer after these elections. who ever wins. we must not allow such crooks to straw our beautiful streets.

Michael Chilufya Sata (born 1937) is a Zambian politician, the former chief executive of the ruling Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) and a close partner of former President Frederick Chiluba. As leader of the opposition Patriotic Front (PF), Sata, popularly known as “King Cobra”, emerged as the leading opposition presidential contender and rival to incumbent President Levy Mwanawasa in the 2006 presidential election, but was defeated by Mwanawasa according to official results.

  91. These elections are tough Ndipo… no one is coming out to claim victory or concede defeat? except for uncle sata who claimed rigging just after he cast his ballot. So if he wins what happens? we re-run kaili akamba eka at they are rigged?

  92. Sata thinks he has huge support people go to his rallies to see the clown not the politician. he is a born loser. MMD will win and thank God for that.

  93. According to those results @ #171 which are originally from the zambiaelections.org it means there is now a difference of 99 856 votes between Sata & RB & looking at the remaining constituencies which are more favourable to RB,MMD will win this election,it’s sad that we’ll have to do with tu bena Mulongoti again but in a way it’s a blessingg in disguise, imagine Sata being President & addressing the citizens on tv,ha ha ha ha bwafya.Even if naba mu dribller it’s good if he lose that Sata!!

Today we are winning guys, Viva Pabwato, Mwamukolo!!!!

  95. #149 Looking at what happened in Kenya i think our simple majority is better than 50+. Our level of politics is too acrimonous. We can easily have war if we adopted 50+. Yes it is better but it has potential to cause conflict. Also, when no one gets above 50%, the top two have another run. this is expensive. Our nation is already poor enough. Problem is our politicians are too selfish. Everyone wants to be president at any cost. Just look at HH and Sata. It’s same old story, if they united, MMD would be gone as we speak. Selfish and stubborn people.

  96. MMD has became UNIP (United National Intergreted Party)ie UNIP,ULP,RP,FDD APPC,NGP THIS IS GOOD FOR DEMOCRACY SO THAT WE CAN HAVE ONLY 3 POLITICAL PARTIES, UNIP, PF & UPND.HERITAGE SHOULD JOIN EITHER PF OR UPND.

  97. Defender kumulungama …umwine alapona. MMD, stop living in the dream world. We are there …the day belongs to PF! Viva PF!!! Pragmatist, you are a very good analyst. You know your political analysis in your own rights. However, sorry to say MMD, the ones you support have disappointed you this time around. Welcome aboard PF Zambian Ship to development!

  98. PF guys dont worry too much coz out of the 53 constituences remaining, 20 of those are our strong hold. So here we go to state house with our Kaponyas

  99. I am out now..ba pf just remember this as the day that your captain Beborsa almost toppled Jack RB Sparrow. The Curse of the black Pearl Bwato continues….

  100. Now i have just opened my first beer,i can now relax knowing that Sata will finally lose,am sure he’s started smoking again wherever he is & he’s is saying unprintable words! LOL
Imagine a whole country of 11 or 12 million people some Professors,Doctors,Accountants being led by a man who has no basic educational background,a former street sweeper & Police constable(not officer),ya we would have been a laughing stock to the world!!

  101. Let Sata come to Sudan and consult me on how to think. He is an embarassing to the Opposition. How can just give away what has been given to him on a silver plate. Shame on PF members who allowed him to represent the Party

  102. PF TRIED HARD TO COME NO.2 IN MONGU CENTRAL, NALIKWANDA TRIED TO SAIL AT LIMULUNGA HABOUR FROM LIALUI BUT WAS STUCK IN THE PLAINS.

  103. Do you honestly think “MMD Presidential campaign Chief Executive Officer”, Mbita Chitala can lead the way in accepting defeat? Doing so is tantamount to firing himself. The chap is living on hope. Too bad. Be sincere to your blind followers and face the fact that you missed a few punches. Please advise your fellow MMD supporters to enter the Ship quietly …after all you wont have to pay anything; kaso kashani? Viva PF!!!

  104. why do they always starts announcing results from the opposition’s strong hold. They always want to know how many votes can they add for them to pull through. They did the same to Mazoka and the same thing to PF 2006. God will punish you with you robberer VJ.

  105. #173. Chofwe – According to the ECZ updates, we shall have a president at midnight and I shall annouce to you all by then as soon as it is out of Mumba’s mouth.

We are still remaining with 57 constituencies and the majority of them are North Western, Western and Luapula. I haven’t also seen some rural central province results.

Let me check records and get back to you.

  106. There are roughly about 600,000 votes to be tabulated. The source of these remaining votes holds the key to the final result. Right now there is about 100,000 votes margin between Sata and RB. There are still pockets of constituencies yet to be declared in most of the provinces including NW, Western, Central, Northern, Luapula, Southern. It appears some Western and NW pockets are favourable to RB, but Sata can still counter-punch by holding considerable margins in the remaining pockets in Luapula and Northern since he already has a 100,000 votes advantage.

  107. I posted #185 from home, where I had not flagged by ID.

Well, to continue, when you are in opposition 50%+ is attractive as it gives you an opportunity to have another go. But the simple majority is good enough for us. At least we have had peace. Did anyone think Kenya can run into the trouble they just had. And what has come out of it – lost lives and a blotted govt to accommodate fellow wolves, the opposition. Now they have to pay those guys, tax money that could have gone to develop the nation. I dont think a lot of these politicians have a heart for people. Just selfish lot.

Guys, catch up with you tomorrow. Signing out!!

  108. I support Sata but I do not think that the rigging is too big. There are some cases of rigging like what happened in Munali this afternoon. Generally though, the results are a true reflection of people’s choices.

Thing is had the registration of voters been opened, younger people would have registered and Nyama soya would be gone by now. However, currently we are using the 2006 list which is full of old people who are more sympathetic to MMD.

  109. Munkoyo, endesha mune with that info. The ka silly site zambiaelections.org is letting us down. Its seems the guys updating it are PF=Poor finishers!

  110. SweetZED remember it was Mbita and Teta who announced before anyone else did in 2006 that MMD was winning with rural votes. It was a friday night i remember.

  113. I agree with you Munkoyo. Once the voter registration is opened MMD must be weary but again people in Zambia love last minute things. they will not register or they will wait for the last minute and then miss out! thats Zambia we all remember how many times the ECZ is forced to extend registration exercises!

  116. #214,

We remember. . . and we appeal to the opposition to please unite and oust MMD in 2011. We can’t allow one party to rule for over 20 yrears. That is like one party state.

  117. #204] you are very right … kuntakinte. We are lucky this time PF has won! At least we can have MMD and UPND as the strong opposition parties to keep the checks and balances as the ship sails smoothly using the action oriented developmental strategies. It’s NOT over until the final whistle is blown!!!

  118. I have been repeating myself that it is plain logic that results from PF strong holds come first, for the simple reason that they are along the line of rail and ease of communication. Some bloggers here are zambians who have never been to zambia, hey? Or conveniently forgotten its geography to mislead others into believing the story of rigging?

  119. Mr Munkoyo, Sir, I believe you are the only blogger physically present the Conference Centre. Please update us with the latest. Surely, what we are getting from these guys in the diaspora is secondary information. And Bashir, educate Sata on the site so that those of us who are close to him can take the message. Mr Munkoyo, please!?

  120. This is a lesson to the opposition that as long as you have more than opposition party it almost impossible to win against the ruling party. Strategically some areas where PF has no representatives to monitor the counts will come last.

The guys already know the winner like Tiehenya ( I hope this is correct spelling) of UPND said. He said the results that the ECZ at the 16:00 were already there at 13:00. And what they announced at 20:30hrs was already at Mulungushi Conf Centre. He further said the results that they will announce at past mid night is already there and the MMD will close the gap by 10,000 votes.

  121. Believe you me, this thing is now like watching a horror movie, you want to stop but dont want to go and sleep and keep dreaming Lucipher is having you for dinner!

  122. Mutota you are privileged.. get all the results for us from that Kahenya Guy we need them ASAP so we can do other things.

  123. The part of history that will surely repeat itself is that UPND will first beat MMD and then when UPND starts celebrating with the hope of almost catching up with PF, the game will have been over with PF beating UPND with is small margin! PF will have won…Viva!!!

  124. Zambia must just be a federal state. All the voting is largely tribal. Sata will win in the Bemba areas. HH in the Tonga areas. RB in the Nyanja areas. The areas not represented by their tribes man are somehow shared.
he feeling of identity and nationalism in our country is still very strong and will remain so for generations to come. Fedralism is the way forward.

  126. #213. Anonymous – Careful what you say because I am also PF. So if you really hate PF then you hate me and I am not sure how you will then value the updates I am sending.

  127. If Sata loses, what are you PF supporters going to do? Please dont theorise your answer just keep it brief and educative. Remember the question is simple. Ine balwandi if Akulu Mphuno loses, I will pat all kaponyas on the back for job well done and wish zambia well as the recession hits the boat, called Republic of Zambia, naka shimi kapela.

  128. Let us wait for midnight and see how the margin will have narrowed then…Bola ni 90 minutes plus injury time and sometimes EXTRA TIME for rigging!!!

  129. Ba Sulwek mwachoka kuti with that old news kansi? we know that already we want new things. Yo infor is not even correct going by ECZ standards.

  130. Magic magic, RB has won! Ring anyone at MICC they will tell you? How was this? Eh, I am even scared to be happy. Lets wait and see!

  132. #227 you are right it is like a horror movie. I am supposed to sleep early so that I can work up in good time to study for my December exams but I can’t. I am still waiting for mid night results, hopefully I won’t doze.

  133. I will tell you what the PF will do.
They will do a ka mini Riot in Lusaka and Kitwe, then Big Buju Mateyo will threaten to smoke out sata and Sata will go on TV to calm his thugs. That is how things are done in Zed.

  134. Just wanted to see if the bloggers were here and alert (no rigging the blog)! I have been rigging for a living past one month dont know what happens now results are coming out!

  135. #244 Chitala said, on ZNBC news, that the MMD would win by 60,000, you may be close but tell us how you arrived at that figure.

  136. #225 – Like I said earlier. The next set of results are coming at midnight Zambian time (10 p.m. GMT) and as soon as they are out of Florence Mumba’s mouth. Remember that this session at midnight is the final one and we shall have a president after that.

  137. #244] Any log books or slide rules involved when doing you sums? try a calculator or just use some mental maths mate! Wait as PF goes to state out in the next few hours!

  138. I can guarantee that Sata will have his inauguration at Edwin Imboela stadium much to the amusement of foreigh dignitaries! We shd brace for comdey at Plot 1 starting….NOW!

  139. PF retains seat
Patriotic Front candidate, Mark Mushili, has retained the Ndola Parliamentary seat in a by-election held yesterday.

Mr. Mushili polled 10,722 votes beating his closest rival from the MMD Mary Zambezi who polled 7,563 votes.

UPND’s Joe Kalusa polled 1,417 while Masuzyo Chipanya OF UNIP got 339 votes.

Scollastic Mutale of the New Revolution Party polled 181 votes.

Ms Zambezi who had successfully petitioned Mr. Mushili’s election after the 2006 General election has again not accepted defeat.

She has refused to sign the results form, demanding a recount of the ballot papers.

  140. There are about 13 constituencies in Western and 5 in NW yet to be declared. There are 8 constituencies in Northern and 5 in Luapula yet to be accounted for. This might be close but Sata appears to have an advantage because of his current lead.

  141. It is so sad that future of our country is being decided by less than half the country’s population (2,703,598). i only pray that we have made a good decision and that the number of registered voters will be more than this in 2011.

  142. Can anyone picture this, a well groomed Sata in white shirt, red tie…nicely powdered face, those beauticians passing time mu Katondo street inchito yamoneka pa Plot 1 to groom the President! Eh ndise tiliko manje,ka crash programme in international diplomacy and etiquette, awe banono sana. Tiyeni nazo, bawina ba Sata!

  143. Zambia deserves the potholes and the dusty road that dot Lusaka. How can you be electing octagenarians. I live in Cape Town and now I am in Abuja [another pleasant modern city!] and now I am drinking wine as I write this. I was hoping Zambia could elect a smart leader like HH but alas the self destruction syndrome has manifested again. Remain poor and undeveloped, Zambians, we shall continue laughing at you and exporting cars and other things to your country.

  144. I don’t think all PF supporters are Kaponyas. Do Kaponyas live in Munali? Central Ndola? (Itawa, Kansenshi, Northrise?). All those sits are overwhelmingly PF. MMD on the other hand has yet again thrived through the poor illiterates villagers.

  145. Tell us how many constituencies are undeclared? and why is the post table looking like a skeleton tell those chaps to fill in the blanks.

  146. People, Kindly analyse these results. Totals (98/150 Constituencies)as per zambiaelectionsdotorg.

  148. Munkoyo i admire the work you have done but correction the midnite results are not final there is more for tomorrow morning

  149. Don’t despair when you see the percentages moving slower than expectation. This is an element of normal distribution. This is a function of totals as the base increases. And so we expect the rest to close up the gap; though not get anywhere as the race is in its dying minutes. We’ve done our Calculus and PF is going there. After the cumulative average is expected to change as everyone’s vote is finally heard to demand for Sata as their Republican president. PF …Wecome to State house!!!

  150. its better to sleep than to wait for midnight. moreover you all know that MMD will win but with a small margin.you cannot change things and indeed some of you will get sick coz you took this election too personal. Chwe chwe chwe Viva RB

  151. Ok got it… ZNBC Reports –

Patriotic Front-PF- leader, Michael Sata’s lead in the Presidential election has been narrowed, after the announcement of results from an additional 33 constituencies.

Mr. Sata’s lead has been reduced from 90-thousand 281 votes to 48 thousand 690 votes.

The results which were announced by Electoral commission of Zambia chairperson, Florence Mumba at about 20.30 hours, Zambian time are from 94 constituencies.

In third position is UPND’s Hakainde Hichilema, with 2- hundred and 59 thousand 928 votes.

Heritage Party President, Godfrey Miyanda, has 10 thousand 184 votes.

  152. Zambiaelections has been taken down. Shame. it was a bright idea. I think the presentation of info was/is much better than on the ECZ website with all their money. . . they like ifima pdf. . .

  153. There you are with 98 Constituents done. 52 more to go.

    BANDA RUPIAH B MMD 469,789
    HICHILEMA HAKAINDE UPND 259,928

Keep the peace. The MMD knows this was a good fight and we shall wait for the final result. If all fails the wise thing is to keep the opposition together. PF has three seats out of this whole race. The rest non.

  154. The 2006 voters roll used initially had about 3.5 Million registered voters but 400,000 thousand were ommitted by mistake & re-added so this time we had about 3.9 million registered voters but due to the low turn out & some losing cards they are projecting it to be around just under 3 million voted succesfully so it’s not over yet,ba PF mineni amate.

  157. Going by the constuency results. Is amazing how all the areas registered -50 or slightly +50. Seeing that we are Using 2006 register, in my opinion, these figures were deliberately inflated and manipulated to suit their needs then. A lot of ghosts voted in 2006, and have not be allowed this time around. the figures are too coincidental despite the claim of apathy

  158. #266 Cont’d. Note that MMD totals at 98/150 for zambiaelections (465,859) is lower than the MMD totals at 93/150 (469789) given by ECZ. I have compared the constituency vote breakdowns given by both ECZ and zambiaelectionsdotorg and the are consistently similar – THE SAME. You can do your own comparison. Click on any province on zambiaelections to show the constituences. Click on a constituency to show the result by candidate. Go to ECZ website electionsdotorgdotzm print or open the 2008 Presidential election Results by constituency.

    DRAW YOUR OWN CONLUSIONS

  159. it funny how most people forget, just 8 years ago sata and chiluba were irritating us. now ati sata for president, c’mon. i look foward to VJ’s rigging, he has my blessing this time. not sata pliz, will be worse than zimzim coz mugabe is atleast educated.

  160. MICC is calm and no noise. Only journalists and agents and ECZ officials are here. I sneaked in with an MMD guy though he knows I am PF. We are good friends and have known each other since 1996.

  161. Those villagers, packets of sugars in hand, always mess up things. Education should be compulsory mwe. . . Or they should introduce electoral college votes with Lusaka and Copperbelt having the highest since people there can’t be corrupted with packets of sugar. . .

  162. I dont agree with you anonymous, CB and Lusaka guys just need to register or go and vote! Registered voters in the two provinces surpus central, N/western and Luapula combined. Now add the elite of Chipata, livinsgtone Kasama etc i think the villagers are in minority but understand their civic duty- to go and vote, and vote wisely in line with their needs- cheap fertilizer!

  163. Thanks to rural votes, MMD is winning. Sata will never rule this nation. Now all PF supporters can go bury their heads in the sand. It was a good run and elections where absolutely free and fair so don’t make the claim of rigging.

  164. 288, ah, I think I see what you mean. I have clicked the constituencies remaining and boy does it look good for RB! Eh, all the Sata strongholds seem to have been counted but the RB ones are still coming…I see something said the blind man to the deaf!

  165. Its anybody’s game this one. I wonder how things would have been had the UPND/PF pact worked out well. I bet Akulu Mphuno would be packing to return to the political deathbed he was on when he was stattled from the sleep he loves so much to go and be – as americans put it – a heart beat away from the presidency. Its LPM’s fault.

  166. Can we stop damning our own country to the likes of Zim? Its only God who know why they have to go through their current phase. I proclain peace for Zambia and conderm all evil manifestations in Jesus’ name. Prosperity will come to Zambia according to God’s will.

I believe that the Late pres(MHSRIP)completed his work according to the biblical year of completion(7 yrs)and there was nothing any of us could do but let God to do his wish.

  167. Be informed post editor meembe is almost secretely leaving the country.i think he shud stopped coz he iz been misinforming the country, wat ya think ?

  168. Sata is paying for his sins! i rememeber what i went through during the 3rd term debate period. i shall never forget the incident at the Ndola tennis club culminating into a very heated personal argument with Mukala, the late(may he rot in hell). all those who participatedin that scandal SATA inclusive should be tried for treason!!!

  169. Sata has no strategy for rural places. He promises tax reductions and high salaries, things that don’t make sense to one in a village. For one, the vilagers do not get a salary and again they do not pay tax, except VAT, when they buy sugar. Most of the transactions are not captured in the tax bands. What do you expect from the rural dwelars with such a strategy? Don’t call it rigging.

  170. Poor folks, Zambians! You never cease to amaze me with your clamour for elections and then you elect the wrong chaps that you would want to change one term down the road. You need to get it right Zambians or else you will continue to wallow in poverty and attend our universities because you cannot afford your own glamorous MBAs. Anyway thats the only way we can continue getting your money and stacking it in our banks. Look, the majority of you bloggers are not even in Zambia! Give yourselves Sata or Banda and, hey, continue giving us your bucks in universities, and for cars, cellpones, clothes etc. We like it, remain peasants.

  171. #321 Fred is too stubborn to run away mulinaye tight. he wont go any where. If RB wins more money for him because he will be sued he will be arrested and donors love that you know, so they will pour in more bucks. and then he will attack RB more and since Zambians love gossip they will buy the paper more! which ever way he wins.

  172. Viva Pabwatooo! this time we not gonna let these november criminals steal our vote! aleni bane poseniko amano Pa Chi Bwatoooo!

  173. i am very diasppointed with The Post. They got it wrong this time, supporting PF, post’s creditials just went down a pit latrine. i thot the mweembes had brians but i guess going down the latrine shows whats in their heads.

  174. #318. Waziona – I used to be in UNZASU in 1996 (which meant not being partisan though being mostly anti-incumbent) and so I do not involve myself in politics directly even though I am very patriotic. Therefore, I don’t want to be going to politicians for intelligence etc. I am going by official results only and so it will be easy for me to accept defeat. Though I support PF and Sata I am not a practicing PF member nor do I involve myself in PF activities. So we just have to wait for midnight. I have left MICC and will go back there after midnight.

  175. bachedwa manje mweee.I will pop a separate one for teh winner when I am already high so I dont feel the impact of the new President!

  176. Me, I am already celebrating. My wish has come true and that wish is that Sata will never be president of Zambia. RB is winning thanks to rural votes.

Sata, I hope you haven’t started planning your inauguration, this time around is Jacob Zuma invited??

  177. Where is this stink ISWEBO from kanshi?

making noise here we are leaking our political wounds. . . Shut up with your empty rhetoric, foreigner. We might just not care about what you are ranting about. Don’t you have exciting blog in your country?

  178. The Post is a private paper and so they have the right to take any stance. Problem is the excesses they go to but taking a side is fine. Even the Chicago tribune, Washington Post, NY Times and Boston Globe have taken stances in the USA election Race.

  179. Baka’mba ifiko pa zed fwachila, we need Sata to clean up the situ, too much lazeness pa zed! aba joba nama degree tapali efyo bachita, its time for a radicle change! and sata is that change agent zed need!

  180. 346, yah that is the problem, when they dont self regulate. They need some JIK to wash their mouths and pens if it helps.

  181. 8 constituences not counted in northern,6 in luapula,3 in CB, lsk 1 or 2 and kapiri not yet touched. Mind you all these are PF territories.Wh is counting us out?

  182. #345 – surely it is unlikely I could share my identity when you don’t even use a pseudonym. One of the secretaries and one of the 4 students expelled first during the 96 student protests. Email me on [email protected] but remember that Steve name is a fake.

  183. Bravo #264 I don’t think all PF supporters are Kaponyas. Do Kaponyas live in Munali? Central Ndola? (Itawa, Kansenshi, Northrise?). All those sits are overwhelmingly PF. MMD on the other hand has yet again thrived through the poor illiterates villagers.

In fact MMD Ninama yamu mpanga too much relying on the so called village/bush vote. I just hope there are real people there to outnumber the cities. Otherwise MMD votes are ballots from the animal farm or game parks! .

  184. I REPEAT: its funny how most people forget, just 8 years ago sata and chiluba were irritating us. now ati sata for president, c’mon. i look foward to VJ’s rigging, he has my blessing this time. not sata pliz, will be worse than zimzim coz mugabe is atleast educated.
can i get a reply from a PF supporter pliz.

In fact MMD Ninama yamu mpanga too much relying on the village/bush vote. I just hope there are real people there to outnumber the cities. Otherwise MMD votes are ballots from the animal farm or game parks!

  186. You are right Munkoyo BUT here in the states a lot of papers including the economist have endorsed Obama but they have not gone out on a campaign to an earth all the dirt about McCain while portraying Obama as a saint. Obama is not even their lead story three quarters of the time. they are objective. But look at the Post my God ! it ceased to be a news media but a campaign tool and propaganda machine! just stuffing and imposing things on people! they are a shame to the media fraternity… Fred needs to change!

  187. The results have since been collected and I will soon give you who is the projected winner. Check after 5 minutes. I left this site last night abruptly due to some unforseen circumstances. Kindly stand by for the the latest in the next five minutes. The news will put all these arguements you have having as who will win.

  188. Hey I hear that the Nchito brothers were busy organising Finnish visas for themselves and families… Planning a depar from Zed???

In fact MMD Ninama yamu mpanga too much relying on the village/bush vote. I just hope there are real people there to outnumber the cities. Otherwise MMD votes are ballots from the animal farm or gameparks. Its time animals stopped voting in Zambia!

  190. 353, tell us what educated chap ve achieved for zed, especially thoso in politicts! atleast sata has something to show off!

  191. Well I’m dead tired today bcoz barely slept was following these elections back home but I guess it was all in vain bcoz Pabwato seems to be sinking now as the clock ticks. The rigging hurricane and poor planning by opposition has yet costed another chance to carry out an inventory of the evil deeds that have been done since the demise of Levy. Ala cha opener pa Zed manje, even Chiluba can breathe a sigh of relief. The parroting boys, Mulongoti and Teta seem to be swimming in joy now, hard luck Sata. Now is the time to leave politics and pave way for new blood in PF. Gluck Zed

  192. Giving up. MMD has corrupted their way through again. 20 yrs of MMD rule. Bala tumpa . . .

I’m sure salary increment issue is item one one RB’s agenda.

  193. how can results for a small election such as this one (presidential only) take forever to be released? How is it possible that we have the results from most of the areas with a high number of voters and have failed to get results from areas with small numbers of voters??? How?????

  194. And so it has come to pass. The results were very predictable. Sata lost a chance that never comes twice. There is no man greater than Zambia, No individual can take a country by storm alone without consultative discipline in his own party. It is time for him to now know that in PF, he is not God. Time for PF to look elsewhere or for someone else. May his political life rest in peace. Zambians have stopped a very dangerous man. Please do not waste time speculating about results!

  195. MMD has not rigged any elections you sore losers. Just swallow the pill and enjoy the show as MMD wins this election through the rural votes.

It seems people in rural areas think better than the ones in the urban areas.

As for me, I am an HH supporter but as long as Sata is not winning, I can sleep calmly.

  196. From the results remaining it is now clear that RB will carry the day. Rb will beat Sata by 27,543 votes. It was a good try Sata anyway.
    See you in 2011.
    Bye guys.

  197. On top of meesing presidential elections and tilting things in the direction of the sugar and fitenge distributors, the viallagers don’t pay tax. All the heavily subsidised ferterlizer that RB used to corrupt them was bot using tax payers money in Lusaka and Copperbelt. Its warped.

  198. I am back now from refreshing myself; was dosing but am ready to continue. Feels like I am a journalist updating people while the rest of guys are out for a drink.

  199. Its unfortunate that yet again our rural population have let us down. We will not get anywhere until we start to differentiate the rural vote from the urban vote. Until then lets maintain peace

  200. #346 munkoyo, thanx for your input man, from yesterday.how many constituents remaining from luapula, copperbelt, nothern, even lusaka.

  201. Country men we here to announce that Sata’s splint is over. The remaining votes are for MMD from all 100% MMD strong holds. Our polling agents there have sent us our numbers and now declare that its over to Justice Mumba to tabulate and announce the victory of RB and MMD.The 1-10% margins Sata is getting from all remaining against MMD’s 60-78 margins have sealed the race for RB come what may.

  202. I will definately miss the pa bwatooooooooooo fans, they really made noise and exaggerated issues with their post newspaper.Who even taught them how to put zeros in front of the T,the thing was cool.As for upnd their comparing Obama to hh was AN abomination,a sin,a curse. The non political CVs they were bringing up was also nON starter coz most Zambians have outstanding CVs better than the CVs they were talking about.Sata,RB,Miyanda and the voids have better political CVs THAN hH.

  203. The so called educated people don’t have any meaningful contribution to the Zambian economy. Where are the Zambian innovations that result from good education. Just parroting western text books is not the whole essence of education. They get a degree or something like that and come to sit and wait for someone to pay them whilst uneducated people work the land, sale at markets, fight for survival.RB’s so called western education is completely meaningless, look at Alan West and Robert Hudson…if RB could not run his own companies with all the so called education what makes you folks think he can run a poor country with a weak economy.Zambia needs leadership not western documents.

  204. Kaponya is a way of life and not where one stays. The uncouth language and the attitude towards other people is what defines Kaponya. And so guys you are right that the Kaponyas are plentiful on the Copperbelt and in some suburbs of Lusaka too. I have met plenty of them and their ‘leaders’ in my travels in Zambia. One of them may even be President of a poor Southern African state called Zambia!!!!!!!!!! I am more interested in getting your money Zambians. Import more cars, education and other goodies since you cant seem to redeem yourselves in an election.

  205. #367 – The results haven’t taken too long to announce. Zambia is quite a vast country but it is not accompanied by the needed communication infrastructure and transport system which would have helped get the results in quickly. Anyways here is midnight, stand by . . . .

  206. 383, he left the economy on track, isnt that an achievement and built your reserves, which you never had before. The man is dead, he cant defend himself, leave him out, please mwilufya intambi shenu ku Africa mwafuma.

  207. Number 369 (Waziona), I didnt run away as you put it. I had some engangement somewhere else. Besides I was busy talling all the results both unofficial and official so that I can inform you correctly. Most of the chaps on this site we just speaking from their dreams. Anyway get it from me, RB will be declared winner with over 27, 543 votes. This is based on all the 150 constituencies across the country including those that are still being waited for.
I will meet you guys in 2011 for more updates.
You have been good guys. Take it easy though these are just mere elections which come and go.

  208. what RB for president? nshakeseko kuzed…….let the capital/state house be moved to the village. Villagers without addresses nor basic distinction between the right and left hand keep deciding the fate of the nation……shame!

  209. #396 Which track did cabbage leave the economy on? Whats wrong with you pipo? All cabbage left was Nepotism and selective fight on corruption. I just hope Sata wins so that we see you rats. As promissed we will smoke you from plot 1 ….

  210. Sata’s end to his political career is long over-due. At least we have struck the snake on the head this time.

Have a good retirement Mr. Sata. We thank you for the contribution you have made to Zambia.

  211. i 4got that i ve a wireless LAN so i can carry my laptop as i watch Titanic on ZNBC, though it has been delayed coz VJ wants it come out right,in HD i guess.

  212. I have told you the winner is RB. He will win with a margin of 27,543 votes over sata. Take it or leave it. I have the guys from the polling stations that I have been working with. This is why from yesterday my data had been consistent with what is being announced by ECZ. We get the information in advance.

  213. RB was born to be President and not by struggle but on a silver plate. At times the day you are born and stars really count.Politics is so complicated such that even a date can favour one candiadate.

  214. Viva….404 LPM (MHSRP) with due respect just turned the presidency into Akapoto kakulipo noku lwalilapo….then he went to eastern province to retrieve some political letovers from UNIP….so now its UNIP back in power disguised as MMD

  215. Iwe 396! what economy on the track? do u think he engineered the copper prices and other commondies? in fact it more of FTJK’s work than LPM’s

  216. latest news, postponement of final reading. Ati technicality to be addressed. PF is holding press conference right now. KAYA MWE!

  217. Anonymous, tell me where I am wrong. You do what the majority of the Kaponyas do: insult. Are you one of them? Well I am made to understand that the ECZ is about to announce the results. I am keen, man, I am keen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But your money first, dont forget.

  218. Judge Mumba is not yet in her seat. No explanation given for the delay albeit just a 10 minutes. An announcement has been given that the results will be delayed due to concerns by others including the PF who are raising issues.

  219. Sata is still in the race. latest results shows that he has still mained the lead. This is based on the 115 out of 150 constituencies. But the gap has narrowed sharply and soon RB will catch up. Keep in touch.

  220. UPDATE FOR THE DUDES ABROAD: ZNBC hasn’t yet started showing Titanic. they are showing a documentary of how primitve we would have been if PF won.

  221. 383. u are a sour puss LPM (MHSRIP) Left a major project the NCC the new constitution was meant to be his legacy because if u dont know his claim to fame was when he caught out KK on the interpretation of the Treason ACT as entrenched in the zambian constitution. U are just an ignorant stowaway on the sinking pabwato know ur zambian history notifye ulelya ifitumbwa kuyalo, condemiti!!!

  222. #784.Whatever, CV FOR WHICH OFFICE? I clearely stated RB,sata and GM have better political CVs than UNDER 5.In accountacy or Economics maybe hh has a better cv but I need to check his grades.#784Whatever we are not looking for an an Economist or Auditor,we are looking for a Political Leader so small s Cv does no apply.

  223. PF says they are disappointed with the MMD’s announcement that they would win through a projection which was not substantiated. PF say in 2006 Mbita Chitala again made an announcement. Two polling places in kalabo were still voting at late as 16hrs today and PF is wondering if this is where MMD wanted to put in votes. The argument is that the remaining 56 constituencies are not rural per se but most are actually urban. Also fax messages with results are showing up about 5-6 hours late from the time they were received. issues of trucks with voting materials getting broken down in border towns don’t show confidence. PF says there should be no need to declare winners before ECZ does declare.

  224. Some from the village still think its taboo to think objectively and judge the dead for their work correctly. RB was plucked, woken up from this political deathbed by LPM and given the 2nd highest seat in the country. Its LMP’s monumental failure that RB will undo the little LPM did in less than 3 going by the rate of corruption we have seen in the past few months RB has been in judge of government.

  225. PF is not expecting the ECZ to announce RB as winner and this is from Given Lubinda who I monitored through a live interview.

  226. Some from the village still think its taboo to think objectively and judge the dead for their work correctly. RB was plucked, woken up from this political deathbed by LPM and given the 2nd highest seat in the country. Its LMP’s monumental failure that RB will undo the little LPM did in less than 3 going by the rate of corruption we have seen in the past few months RB has been in charge of government.

  227. A leader CAN NOT BE A leader WITHOUT PERMISSION OF THOSE he wants to lead!! RB should shift state house out of lusaka to Shangombe because marjority of the pipo dont want him.

  228. #424 easy man, easy! Some folks are just mentally muddled up. No wonder even the so called leaders that they support are of the same ilk. Do not insult #383, he may be from that class of individuals. Understand him. The results folks, the results??????????

  229. Dear Compatriots,

Like a brazing bush inferno on dead woods ans dry grass,MMD has wrecked Sata eating away his simple lead.RB is now father-figure splinting to Nkwazi House. As of 12:00AM, Sata is a very saddened man thinking all options against him.RB is leading. Kembe, Mkushi noth and south, Lundazi with 100,000 votes, Chama North and south have killed brother Sata’s dream again.

  230. # 425…That is smart. National leadership does not consist in a western text book. It’s an ability outside textbooks.Leadership that gets things done ,you can tell by looking at someone’s way of doing things whether they have it or not. I’m doubtful if HH has it. Whats up with HH only thriving in his village? shame for all the looks and the money and a few western documents… isn’t it time to go back to Auditing?

  231. 430, so they are expecting Sata to be declared winner? Do you think they have finised counting all teh 150 constituencies or am I jumping the river before getting there? Eh, PF pa last minute, I knew something like that wud come up. What are scores like on teh 115 constituencies?

  232. The battle has been between the two. King Cobra and Akulu Mpunu. From my analysis, the who to emerge victirious will win by a small margin. Am prepared to accept whoever wins. After all, its one Zambia one nation. Congrats guy for your petience and good contributions. Abash insults and vulgar languages. In case it turns out that our parties dont win, lets not forget, we have certain rolls we can play as Zambian citizens that can contribute to a better Zambia. This is our country.

  233. earlier in the day i promised VJ lots of castle and a shalamwana look alike if he pulled this one. all i can say to you VJ is that the castle is ice cold and the shalamwana babes (2 of them) are waiting…

  234. Tetamashimba says MMD are going to win the elections. He thinks that the transparency introduced by the ECZ means that any political party which signed the results is free to send its results to national HQs of their party. So these are signed figures from stations. They say that Sata also said RB should concede defeat and MMD did not make an issue of it. The figures they say were faxed to MMD HQs and they have tallied the figures for all constituencies and polling stations. MMD say this is petty. MMD say they are only relaying what presiding officers announced. Teta agrees that VJ is in Northen Province and this is an issue with PF.

  235. Abakali bakali. Let us hear the final of it all. There are 2 possibilities, RB has also refused to concede defeat, Sata already swore not to accept teh results, albeit even if he won, so we have no incoming President. Whats up there Mr. Munkoyo?

  236. More results from eastern rural have bruised Sata. Vubwi RB has hammered him very badly. However dont forget that Luapula rural is yet to send in results. Still RB is leading for now.

  237. 443, eh ba VJ bakali aka lumba fye! But how can Teta agree? Is Northern Province the winning formular? But bakali aba kalamba zooona zoona nasu mina lelo!

  238. Anonymous #435 simply because you are headed for a loss does not make you any better than all of your like. Lumpen is the word folks that have passed through UNZA call individuals like you. Kaponya is the term people now call you. Just accept that the bad product that you were promoting for President has not been bought by the people of Zambia. In an election there is a loser and a winner. Crying over spilled milk …. I still know you will import a few cars, electronic gadgets and clothes from my country – I need your money to run our economy. Thats what you are good at.

  239. SATA HAS WON A CLEAR LANDSLIDE TODAY…MMD AND RB MUST CONCEDE DEFEAT FOR THE SAKE OF PEACE IN ZAMBIA…

IN NO WAY CAN RB OVER SATA…SATA HAS WON THIS THING…

ACTUALLY RB SHOULD RELEASE TOP SECURITY TO GUARD SATA BECOZ THAT MAN, SATA HOLD OUR PEACE AND STABILITY NOW…

    VIVA PRESIDENT ELECT SATA.

  240. 451, ala I just called someone, you and I need to shake hands, like we did at unza! Hey, in another few minutes we are having the result that makes RB, Mpombo, Chils, VJ and Mulongoti happy!

  241. Thanks Munkoyo for the update, but since you are following closely, do you think the system put in place by ECZ, has loopholes for rigging?

  242. The following Constituencies in NP have not been called

    Lupososhi
    Chilubi
    Senga Hill
    Chimbamilonga
    Kaputa
    Lupososhi
    Malole

    VIVA King Cobra

  243. mbita chitala you have no brains and every one knows that you are suffering after levy fired you. Please give us a break coz we are tired with you chaps and vernon Mwaanga.Sata this time was smart and i can see he has reduced the gap were Mwanawasa won.its a shame of you to say rural areas are your strong hold coz people there are not educated like me here in states.Sata is winning this time.

  244. Live Update – UPND say MMD should wait as there is no basis for claiming victory. UPND says they are not aware of voting happening today up to 16hrs. Shangombo was still counting today and so was Chavuma. But the UPND says there was no reason why reasons for Luena and Kasempa not to have been announced as ECZ had the results even before the 20:30hrs announcement by ECZ Chairperson. UPND hopes that no manipulation goes on. (This was Tiance Kahenya speaking to journalists).

  245. ISWEBO,

You honestly think you can lecture people here in zed varsity lingo? What did I tell you? Shut up, STINK. We want to hear from Munkoyo. You are a blemish here. You are ruining the moment, STINK. CHILL.

  246. Lee Habasonde (Executive Director of SACCORD) also says there is need to leave ECZ to do its work and no independent announcements are made by political parties as this undermines the work of the ECZ and the process. He says the right to announce results is to the ECz and it raises questions when someone else announces. Projections are welcome but they should not be done in the process of announcement results.

  247. 470 thanks, we r all ears bro. Yaba, am so nervous a ka red wine wud do?! I really wonder what is taking long! Shame ba Sata hope he is in the comfort of his home- real pity, ka last ndiye kana lengesa!

  248. Munkoyo, thanks. GBM is a coward. I will not be suprised to hear that he has rejoined MMD.
Waiting for the update of the results.

  249. People…are you suprised….remember how MMD discouraged UPND and PF to form a pact? the moment the two fell for the bait…thats was over! Both of them redundant. How can they fail to have polling agents in all the polling stations???? ma labish!!!!!

Lets registers a BDP (Bloggers Democratic Party) we can do better.

  250. HP – Pastro Kamwiya said HP has confidence in the ECZ and they trust the process. Everything including announcing results should be left to ECZ. HP has only a few hiccups here and there and mainly this was not process-wise. He says the places where no monitors from the opposition are there are likely to be manipulated. He says MMD can send monitors everywhere because they have the money but for the opposition, these remotest of the places are not easily unreachable and so are left alone. There is more than 9 000 polling stations country-wide.

  251. MUNKOYO MWAUME OR MWANAKASHI? VERY INTELLIGENT EN WELL UPDATING US. LEE HABASONDE VERY HANDSOME YOUNG MAN, MY FORMER LECTURE.

  252. HH and SATA were advised to unite…now selfishness has its price….RB WELL will wait and see what he has to offer…..as far as i am concerned…ZAMBIA IS DOOMED

  253. Imwe kachoseniko uko ka Lubinda. whats the complaint about? ala! Sata urged RB to concede earlier was that not announcing results? and Sata’s story is on BBC accusing his colleagues of rigging even before people finished casting ballots who complained? why paste results outside polling stations if everyone is going to be asked to keep quite until justice mumba says it? Just concede ala!

  254. People are just dosing off at MICC because Judge Florence Mumba cannot take her seat yet as she is in a meeting with the political parties over the PF allegations against both the MMD and the ECZ.

  255. Anonymous whats the matter there is a rude guy going by your title . thats not the one we were blogging with the whole day?

  256. gender doesnt matter, its delivery pa last. Inga ine, girl or boy, ok pat me for consistent blogging, thank you, thank you! But Munkoyo muntu sana mweee. Atishani nomba uko? How is the PF camp, composed?

  257. Munkoyo my intelligence tells me PF has some of the most richest guys like GBM, Chumbwe,Nsanda, mushili even sata himself! they can afford to monitor all polling stations cant they? unless they didnt want

  258. #469. pdx thinktank – I am not sleeping until I have sent you all the latest and there is nothing to send or \until someone takes over from me. I am aware you had many guys writing during the day hence my silence but I know that at this hour, one person has to sacrifice and fo now it is me. My internet is not going to go, my laptop is virus=free, my brain fresh and indeed only ZESCO blackout can derail me.

  259. Iwee janjaweed, naudobola huh! where did u see a sing titanic? PF is wining even with a small magin, ku wina bebele ba PF, Sata nga taliko bonse aba niba ngwele twalaizandamuna! ba’kamba

  260. Munkoyo should be given a position of authority on the blogstop mwe. Eh even dosing! So who is in the meeting with the lady Judge? I mean PF, Lubinda, MMD? UPND?

  261. YOU MMD crooks have played us again. Win and explain how you allocate positions to stranded politicians like Nawakwi, Aka,SAKI,Nevers,Ngondo,BY,Mwanga, Chitala and all. Think!!!!!

  262. From the body language of the bigwigs at MICC, things don’t look good for us supporting Sata. RB seems to have sneaked through. VJ in Luapula and Northern is a mystery.

  263. Kwena twamyangala, but why are u conceding defeat before results are even announced? We thot you are leading, uh? U dont even seem to believe it yourselves, mwala teka shani?

  264. Kaboke you are partially right Winning is not much of a concern the concern is what happens to all the sacrifice by VJ,AKA,MBITA,Christon tembo, chulumanda etc all of whom are jobless. Nawakwi is no big deal she is a president, Saki is a lawyer and a President too but Nevers! Kaya..

  265. Oh Lord mweba giver no kugeta mulageta mwalitugiver umunensu uyu LPM elyo kabili mwalimugeta.Nomba lelo chapala kwati namutugiva uyu RB twapapata naena mwendeshe ukumugeta. Next time mwikatugiver a fi MMD

  266. yes, its me….am anonymously UK, see my flag. Other anonymouses have different flags. I will call myself, Miss Pretty now for your sake, remember me? Is it the PF bigwigs looking sorry, Munkoyo? Body language nayo, awe natina mwe

  267. i ve now been waiting for Titanic for over an hour on ZNBC. i hope they now show a shalamwana music video fo VJ coz the documentaty is over. oooops there is now Oprah for new young mrs. rupiah

  268. And by the way just add HH’s results to those of Sata then find the answer of who played who in the Guinness book of world records

  269. MUNKOYO ulebomba boyi but ama comment yambi about judge mumba in a meeting with the political parties ah! nibu post journalism ubo wilasoskila sana iwe ulependafya ama voti not uku soskili utu shimi utwaba ECZ these PF cadres on this blog will stone u or hack u with GBMs Pangas nimbushi ishi ka.

  270. 510, ba ka mugetelele, RB? Ok bloggers, formerly anonymous of Uk, now Miss Pretty, watch this space, I aint done with blogging yet

  271. #500 : The last voyage of a sinking Titanic .Nachipwa nabaya ku State House ba RB. Let Sata try as a Constable in the Police Reserve Force. He will do a great job to help Masebo get rid of the Kaponyas from City Market ,town centre and other areas.

  272. HH, you are to blame for PF’s failure. You needed to partner with old Sata, we could have removed these MMD crooks. Now go and rule your southern province.. Boasting.

  273. #503. Anonymous – I will lie if I say I know who is in the metting with Judge Mumba. I guess it is Lubinda, Teta, Kahenya and others but there is even a possibility the big guys themselves like Sata and Miyanda are here. The meeting is in the new wing of MICC whilst the results are in the old wing and so there is not way of peeping.

  274. Iswebo…pray with me!
“Oh Lord mweba giver no kugeta mulageta mwalitugiver umunensu uyu LPM elyo kabili mwalimugeta.Nomba lelo chapala kwati namutugiva uyu RB twapapata naena mwendeshe ukumugeta. Next time mwikatugiver a fi MMD”

  275. Now I can understand the low voter turnout.
    Who needs this nonsense?!?
What’s the point of voting anyway when you have hyenas like VJ around? What a pity!

  276. Ok ala pa last we shall ask you silly questions, we are just anxious! Is it the issue of Mbita’s pronouncement or much more? Eh, I said this was worse than a horror movie.

  277. Even this website of zambia elections nabajama pa 98 constituencies, does it mean they also dont knw? Soemthing smells fishy?!

  278. 510 that made a very good joke. Serously i think RB if in power, should NOT ‘reconcile’ with Sata.(well presumably they do no have any major differences). But its after that, that the other guy died.

  279. Gud Miss pretty bashile fi anonymous monga bazavidya? But someone should tell justice Mumba’s assistant to announce while she meets those guys. Ifyo fimbi fya Ku court tabapwe!

  280. #514. your flag pankoloko – my posts are plain and I am not adding any filigree trimmings or embossed garnitures to try and flummox you. By the way, chisungu ndelanda (I am Lozi). I am just giving you things are they are. I am supporting PF remember but I am giving you even things against PF because you need to know and I doubt that any media house is covering these things right now. No votes announced in the last 2 hrs.

  281. ka munkoyo you are for PF. what a disgraces, do you remember the political scene 8 years ago. either you are shallow, dull or just plain pathetic.

  282. It seems the bwato might be running out of water in rural areas. That is where the election will be won or lost.

However what is sad is that there is no doubt that there is TRIBAL voting in rural areas and it involves all the parties.

  283. The ECZ should be held responsible for any trouble because they are fuelling anxiety in the country. what is the reason for the delay??? they have the results and are deliberately holding on to them. We know that sitting govts are difficult to remove but we need to move on. 2 million votes can’t take us 2 days nooooooo. tell us who has won or you will make pipo think there’s doctoring of results going on. 2006 is slowly repeating itself…closed door meetings with steakholders, technical glitches… what the f%@k???

  284. Litumezi bo ndate Munkoyo, see how linguistic I am? But serious biz, the silence is defeanening uko ba Honourable lady Judge Florence Nightingale. Chitenipo chimo mweee. Dismiss all teh applications and there is no appeal, proceed to announce the winner, then your job is done! I know why they like women Judges in that position, they are PATIENT.

  285. Waziona – the meeting is centred around the issues raised by the PF and given to you when I was quoting Lubinda. UPND and HP have joined the meeting as interested parties but they never sponsored those issues

  286. Villagers will never vote for Sata. One; Sata promises tax reductions; Two Sata promises high salaries; Three, Sata promises 90 days modernization of Zambia. None of these issues touch a villager whose annual purpose depends on agriculture. When a rural peasant farmer votes for RB, don’t call it rigging. Don’t try this at home.

  287. Kwena, ba PF bala sekesha. I wonder what compromise will be reached. That lady is soft spoken, smallish in stature, but she brooks no nonesense, bala fuma nombaline from that meeting, she will have the final say…. She wasnt at the Hague for nothing.( Trying crimes against humanity, panono apa)

  288. From what I can make out, the results should be extremely close or that the ECZ tallies are not different from that tallied by the presumed losing party. Hence, this meeting should involve trying to sort out the mess before confusion reins.

  289. ci zedian, ulelanda bwino, why cant you appreciate the efforts done by munkoyo,he is even trying to be non partisan.ulicipuba.

  290. So where is VJ supposed to be kept? Munkoyo any ideas? since he is not allowed to travel especially during election time.

  291. Live Update – Vernon Mwanga is speaking live by phone to journalist and he says he was in Lusaka all along and that he voted at jacaranda school where Sata also voted. He says he never went anywhere but this may contradict what Teta was saying when he almost confirmed VJ was in Luapula. Meanwhile VJ says he shall sue those accusing him of going round.

  292. Why is it that they always show the opposition leading and then at
the end they count votes in favour of the incumbent? I am tempted to agree with hitherto dismissed arguments about who should vote in elections. Age may not be the only qualifying factor. This is because sections of the community are always brainwashed and misled about what elections mean. I suspect Sata’s votes are from the
people who resonate with his ‘floor’ language while those who have
voted for HH (but in the minority) are the elitist who understand his
vision and what development means. But if Sata wins, it will prove the fallicies of so called representative democracy in a third world country and usher in anarchy.

  293. Miss Pretty help in answering where VJ is supposed to be kept.especially during elections. since people say he cant be in luapula or northern not even kalabo i guess

  294. Be patient fellow Zambians. It is better for the learned Judge to verify and if Sata is arguing as he always does, to ensure that all are agreed. However remember that for some rural areas communication is very poor. Much as you may be on computers now expecting results; in rural areas, they are fast asleep, waiting for tomorrow…

No one should advocate violence. It is not necessary and it will do no one any good.

God bless Zambia. The oasis of peace in Africa.

  295. oprah is interviewing valerie bertineli on ZNBC. valerie has nice legs just like for the girl i was with a few hours ago. wow!!!!!

  296. if sata & hh had united there would have been no problem at all. UNIP beat the settlers in 1963 only by coalescing with nkhumbula’ ANC. young man hh swallow you pride and work with sata. but its too late now. join mmd with Chirwa in 2011. viva RB!!!!! LPM (MHRIP) is happy too!

  297. Zedians, we need to be calm. No name calling or insulting. If there were no kaponya,s would there be need to have the word “kaponya”? They actually exist as standard measure. One sane person is proportional to 400, 000 of them. Adding a constant makes the equation S=400, 000K, where K=Zed.

  298. Why should a simple person like VJ be left to always mess around with elections outcome; can’t anyone do something about, I mean sort him out. He is just an old crooked fellow without shame but with a single soul. Please, get him!

  299. Why is the announcement of the results taking so long? You would expect that by now all votes have been counted… so what’s going on? What is the reason for the delay in the announcement?

  300. Iwe Ka zedian kamudala stop attacking Munkoyo. Wabashani we kamuntu iwe. You forgot how we are choked you over Father fimo fmo of copperbelt. And here you want to start it. keep your to anger to your children and your wife not to munkoyo,he has done a good job to keep us updated and now you start attacking over somthing he doesnt even get paid for. attack ECZ not an ordinary citizen, period!
    Nafulwa sana.

  301. 563, we shall chat off site. Ba Waziona, ine in my opinion, I think the baseless arguments about VJ should come to pass. Can he be so smart that we cant catch him all the time? Give the man a break, puleeese. He has a right to be anywhere after casting his vote at Jacaranda, ama curfew yalipwa. Then 559, am at a loss that you wonder why Lusaka and Copperbelt resutls come in first? We had a whole lecture session on that , tight here. If you allege rigging, please other stories not the VJ bedtime story and not the Opposition -stronghold -result -in -first -off -syllabus -story, really.

  302. I’ve never know so much circus in politics! Its amazing how political campaign camps can not read events on the ground whether they are winning or not. Sata is Eratic!

  303. 531. Zedian – Sata arrested me 7 times for fighting against the MMD but I still have the democratic right to pick a candidate of my choice. I am surprised that to you people supporting Sata are a disgrace. You are reminding me of the times 8 years ago under Sata and Chiluba. Do you want me to remind you of Rupiah and Kaunda in the 80s? I respect your choices and your opinion and I would have loved you to respect my judgment albeit flawed in your lenses.

  304. 574 Tiger – meeting still on and its ECZ with reps of the four political parties. Time check for meeting still on quarter to 2 Zed time.

  305. waziona sorry its just that i am bored waiting for Titanic to show. iwe ka diza, i am not kamudala and i aren’t married yet, just banging some young hotties for now

  306. Walasa Miss Pretty. Its time these opposition guys are held responsible and accountable for the loses and pain they cause to their members by being silly and selfish and all they do when they fail to unite or even plan is to cry rigging! Awe twanaka! mwalya sana money yama donors and yo party sponsors. Musiye! HH and Sata owe their supporters explanations as to why they failed to agree on a joint effort! Miyanda should explain why he has been sleeping only to work up after Levy’s demise. Imwe Bantu!

  307. #569 VJ is not a factor in the elections. It could be that we are just assuming he could be responsible. Can I ask you a question, can Ephraim Mateyo on his own gwila all thieves by himself- those in mbala, chisekesi, luamfuma at the same time? By the way, communicating to anyone during this time becomes very difficult and therefore difficult to coordinate. I don’t see how that can happen without being noticed. Besides, prior to elections a lot of people were chasing all sorts of suspicious vehicles anticipating to intercept elections contraband. but results did they get? At least they managed to beat the world records in 100m, 10Km, and relay.
Lets just leave Venom, sorry, Vernon alone.

  308. Reliable sources verdict: according to vote totals obtained by PF from the various constituencies, PF has won by a somewhat narrow margin but the results with ECZ are showing something different. This might spell doom to the peace of the nation. What happened?

  309. PF protests
The Opposition Patriotic Front has described as provocative the pronouncement by MMD national Campaign coordinator, Mbita Chitala, that his party would win the presidential election by 62 thousand votes.

PF Spokersperson, Given Lubinda, has condemned Mr Chitala’s remarks which were brodcast on ZNBC 19 hours television news.

He has challenged the MMD campaign team to prove how the party would accumulate the 62 thousand votes projected by Mr. Chitala.

Mr Lubinda was speaking at a press briefing held at 23.30 hours at the Mulungushi Conference centre in Lusaka.

Mr. Lubinda also challenged the MMD to explain the break down of two trucks carrying elections materials in Shangombo a

  310. This is the same thing Sata feared concerning electronic transmission of results without physical endorsement. Anyone can electronically mail in results and ECZ cannot verify where they are coming from. Remember there are hackers out there.

  311. When did Lubinda become dull mwebantu? what is provocative announcing your own results or accusing your friend of being a rigger? breaking down of trucks in shangombo! Given Pliz! we all know the terain of that area there are no good roads there.

  312. #582 Kamunyama – remember the ballot papers at the airport? Any coincidence that they were meant for Kalabo and it is Kalabo which is said to have been voting this afternoon? That Pajero could have been the only one, the first of even the last with ballot papers. You guess is as good as mine. Remember also that in Munali this afternoon, a polling agent was caught with ballot papers marked with votes for RB and he was trying to put it into a ballot box. Related event in Ndola. A ballot box was opened without the present of monitors at Nakatindi Hall today. Ballot boxes almost transported in private vehicle in Mandevu. Overal though, I think the results reflect the true scenario but …..

  313. This was all a setup between MMD and ECZ. How can RB use air transport for campaigns even going to the toilet, yet the fail to facilitate the same for these important elections. How do you allow an old lorry to ferry sensitive documents all the to lsk? This is the outcome

  314. 590, but can anyone testify to the fact that extra, pre marked ballots were eventually stuffed in? I am not quick to conclude, I like reliable evidence. I hope the incidents are being investigated further, otherwise, the scenari of another boy who cried wolf will break the record.

  315. Ba’kamba game tailemoneka bwino, i think pa zed abena pf iti baizandamuna if the results get rigged, mulemonaposhyani abena munkoyo

  316. Coming out of a bout 2 hours meeting a chap called Akufuna is about to annouce something hold your guns.

He says more results will be announced shortly.

  317. I venture to believe that our party has always had the peoples best interest at heart even when we rig elections we know that we are only betraying the electorate (a paltry 3 million) as opposed to the whole country (12 million people) elyo nomba ba SATA ba penkule imyiona after uku baila ulubangula ati he won the vote……lol….. chwe chwe chwe chwe!!! PF them they always mess it up like arsenal.

  318. #598 – Those pre-marked ballot papers in Munali never made it into the ballot boxes as the agents caught the man who had them and only the police sneaked him away from being lynched.

  319. I am still tempted, regardless of the results, to think that representative democracy in a country ravaged by patronising politics, hence brain-washing and a lack of opportunity to make informed choices, we should have an ‘oligarchy’. If Sata or RB win
these elections, it can only be attributed to either the ‘uninformed sympathy vote’, or the ‘fanning of visionless populist clamour’. I have always articulated in avoiding this line of thought, but today I am inclined to think some decisions should be made on behalf of some people for their own good – that is by ‘right thinking members of the community’.

  320. Sata knows the trick of rigging using marked ballot papers, he did that in Chawama, now his own trick could have been be used against him

  321. When VJ was asked at his residence if he had been in mansa, answered.. “do I have to be in mansa to rig the elections?”.

Wondering what he meant- could it be that he was rigging from his resindece? no need to be physically in mansa?

  322. # 615.. you dont question the source of your intellengence you just act on it. Mukoyo know best….Maybe the case at civic center was a decoy…???

  323. No I was in the Yuyi executive before Bena Tips. You are talking of Ryan who is my friend and my “kid” brother. He is in USA and living there.

  324. Ba unknown, fingi tamwishibe, well Munkoyo is physically at MICC, hope u knw where that is?! Then there are probably 50 or slightly more constituencies still to be announced, kwati 53….618, fingi twa umfwile pa UNZA! lots of laughs guys

  325. MI6.. you do have to question your intellegence, cuz he is probably just tellin us from wat he heard goin round the streets. and knowing zambia its probably all bull, cuz zambia is boring and the only way to make it interestin is to cook up lies

  326. 628, which zambia? I dont think pipo have sunk that low in the zambia I come from, when did you last visit home, blime me?!

  327. I WOULD HAVE BEEN SLEEPING BY NOW,IF THERE WAS NO RELIABLE PERSON LIKE #590 (MUNKOYO) HATS OFF..YOU ARE A PATRIOTIC FELLOW WHO DESERVES A PAT ON YOUR SHOULDER. I ONLY PRAY THAT WHATEVER THE RESULT MAY GOD PREVAIL IN OUR PEACEUFL NATION.THE 2 VERY OLD PEOPLE IE SATA AND RB HAVE VERY LITTLE TO LOOSE BECAUSE THERE IN THE EVENING OF THEIR LIVES.

  328. True ba Mary bekale fye. If the Presidential candidate got paltry votes there, even after attempting the rigging style, who is she? Can she jsut sign those papers and not complicate her loss further!

  329. #600 and #615 Unknown – My sources don’t matter. Bottom-line is you are able to confirm what I tell you about two hours later when other back me up. Thing is so far, I have been accurate, That is all that matters. Hint: I have been driving into MICC at times.

  330. 615. unknown
Munkoyo is at MICC live! not like you and me in UK thinking we can change or know anything on the ground. Sata has won!

  331. #628 you are right people. People spent time chasing after trucks carrying nothing and the real things passed right under there eyes…!!! I can feel that OBANDA is winin….Lelo Leo.

How di he explolate to arrive and this figure. praise God the elections were peaceful and we it more after. The Army Commander should fired for issueing intimidating statements to voters. 339. Thanks ba Munkoyo. Grand job u are doing. Have a good short night (this morning)- that is if u sleep at all.
    God bless

  340. Ifyabushilu! why cant they announce all the results tonite/morning.. kwasila mwadya mweka daddy awina. they have enaf time to doctor the results. same old story pa pa zed! viva pabwato…

  341. Good-nite I will tune in at 10 to nine I hope you will still be there Munkoyo. Believe you me there are many more of us looking for your voice than you are reading. keep up the good work and come 2011 we should band together to form the next GRZ. I think you would make a great Government spokesman (or opposition spokesman if we lose)
    .

  342. munkoyo ngawali mu unzasu executive yakwa yuyi, then i know you. yuyi was a year behind me. i recall in 1996 balitwiketa no kutuchita expel briefly. i was not in unzasu but most executive members at that time were personal friends. however, i was chairman of orientation team in 1996. maybe ba munkoyo you remember me. level yandi yalini inter 2-2.
anyway tupeni fresh data pama election results.

  343. with 42 constituencies remaining and that gap that narrow WE HAVE MASSACRED THEM ONCE AGAIN !!!!!! CHWE CHWE CHWE CHWE!!!! Lelo nshalale, nshalale ba tata ichalo chilelila ati rupiah soteke!!! MMD the people’s party has triumphed ok u PF cadres imwe tu ngwangwazi u can return to the bus stops nechibwaya muli newspaper ubwato is clearly sinking men.

  344. constituecies so far am afraid the results meant for midnigt have not all been announced probably because of the situation with PF disputing things here and there but it will be the same story tomorrow

  345. Thanks Bo Munkoyo. You have done a wonderful job; we appreciate. I can’t wait for 2morrow, sorry this morning for the remainder of the results. VIVA MUNKOYO!!

  346. To all you amigos, ¡Perdone! I have to sleep now. Adiós and buenos noches! Muchas gracias for being patient and for being good people. Lo siento, pero Sata looks like he is giving way. Es una lástima because he should have been the mover and shaker we needed. Hasta la tomorrow! Its tea and bread then the bed. Will help out in the morning but things aren’t looking good so far.

  347. Hats off guys that was interesteing! Lets link up later this morning, wonder what the Post is screaming! I hope its OUCH!

  348. # 666,

I certify your pasted result as authentic.I have had them from the constituencies for the past 2 hours. The remaining ones are even worse for Sata.By the way RB has already bypassed and is splinting to Nkwazi house with a mandate.

  349. Going to sleep now. Not sure I can drive safely. But Manchester vs Hull; City awaits on the other side of the election results.

  350. It is still 27 good thousands in favour of PF, never say its over until its over. see U morning. I have the last word

  351. Pragmatist

We seem to have the same info as the difference at midnite announcement was supposed to be more than half what is showing now anyway good nite tomorrow another day

  352. Kapiri Mposhi, Mkushi south and north yet to be released are among what you need to know why the table has been turned against Sata. There are still more big numbers submitted to the MMD command center yet to be announced by Justice Mumba. These are coming out of Central rural,Western,Eastern and North Western.I presume the next announcement help sata understand the defeat officially. But all constituencies put together,RB is indisputably the head of State of zambia.

  353. 669. CHWE CHWE…. Sata’s votes were swapped with Miyandas and the mistake was made at the Polling Station and not at ECZ. The correction was made by the constituency officers and ECZ adjusted them and the national totals accordingly.

  354. Is the bwato is sinking OR floating?? Where are the bwatos……

When campaigning, do not forget the rural vote.

  355. It seems to me Mr Chitala is banking on a heavyrural turn out even though the rest of the country, urban, where MMD is weakest, the trend has been trhat of a low turn-out. So why should the rural areas record a heavy turn-out contrary to the trend in the rest of the nation. Does tyhe MMD know something we don’t?

  356. The independent monitors are there so ALL should accept the results no matter how BITTER!! That is what elections are all about; Namely winners and losers…..

  357. This idea that the MMD has rigged the election is a lame excuse, for an oppositon which has failed to unite and be effective. The problem is the opposition seems to think rallies is the only way to win an election. Don’t they know by now ppl flock to elections for entertainement? Serves them right for not educating the rural areas to make proper and informed decions. I don’t support RB but I hope this will be a lesson to he opposition whose goal is also to loot Zambia as the MMd has done for 17 years. Let Jah will be done- his love is for the poor

  358. The Lies of Sata and the Post are catching up whith them. They said there was Satamania in the South and Western province. My God Sata has lost every constituency in the South and West. In the South Sata’s numbers are in double digits only. Banda has done much better there geeting a couple of thosands each time. The trouble with Sata is that he and his minions think Zambia is Northern,” Luapula and Copperbelt. The other people know that is what you think. Until you mature into thinking national you will never win. You can take your iliterate leader to become Pronvicial cordinator of Insakas in Northern Province. With his style of talking always screaming and insulting.

  359. AS LONG AS TONGAS SEE BEMBAS AS THIEVES AND TRIBALISTS AND BEMBAS SEE TONGAS AS TRIBALISTS THESE CAMPS WILL NEVER EVER RULE ZAMBIA. THE OTHER CLEAN TRIBES WILL UNITE AND IGNORE THESE TRIBAL BEMBAS AND TONGAS. TOMORROW ONE WILL LAUGH LAST.

  360. Sata has no more Votes to count.in four more Constituencies, Sata will be behind RB.
This should be the last we should hear of sata contesting the presidency. He is a thug we should keep away from Nkwazi house…
I now understand what Satamia which gripped the south and Western..It was w

  361. Prov 11:1-3

The LORD abhors dishonest scales, but accurate weights are his delight.

2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.

3 The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.
    NIV

  362. ABC # 714,

You are a realist its very clear that us Tongas and Bembas will never rule this country. The two camps are wrong and of disgressiful attributes to national character. I don’t see us uniting or developing this country other than accusing fingers and name calling. The second republic was literally run by Easterners and Lozis at all levels.Third Republic produced more Easterners in top level Government and parastatal jobs who were ever silent.Mwanawasa’s tenure has given the presidency to Banda again when we are busy hallucinating.

  363. # 713 much as you hate Sata, Tongas have got no meaningful leadership qualities and thats why they will never rule Zambia coz they are tribal.Look at how your HH has shameless has failed to make it agian in this elections.

  364. Puniard..Winning Presidency should have nothing to do with being Bembaz or Tongas. Sata is a wrong character whatever tribe he could have been.
It is not a mast that , A bemba should be president or tonga should be one. Let a right person be president especially if they are not polarized.. Banda is not my kind of guy.. but looks ok for now, than having SATAMANIIA>

  365. WHEN I RETURN TO ZAMBIA I WILL GO AND SETTLE IN THE VILLAGES BECAUSE THOSE VILLAGERS HAVE NOW DEMONSTRATED THAT THEY REASON BETTER THAN THE CITY DWELLERS-THEY HAVE ALLOWED REASON TO PREVAIL!!!!!!!!

  366. But honestly speaking, how can rural Zambia which demographically is less than urban Zambia decide who goes to State House? Is this the so much preached democracy? But what of those pre marked ballots, why not use them as evidence to declare the candidate as null and void who is affected? If this it the type of elections in Zambia, then lets just forget about voting and allow those rural areas to come and work to start paying tax? Why continue with evil methods of giving handouts during elections? I think the presidential candidates must be sued even when they are made to be the national president. The clause protecting the president shud be looked into as pipo carry out criminal acts whil

  367. while hidding in the law. Shame on the judicial system, shame on those who like using unjust means to get to power. Shame on those who corruptly enter the realms of power becoz they will be blinded. BUT REMEMBER THIS, GOD IS WATCHING AND ONE DAY YOU WILL NOT HIDE AND YOU WILL BE HAUNTED BY YOUR EVIL DEEDS

  368. #724, How do you expect Sata And HH to win elections, if they can only win in there strongholds.. The MMD has demonstrated again that, they are center party.. First of Second in every constituency. For Sata, sometimes occupied the last position in some constituencies.

  369. WHERE DID THE POST GET THESE RESULTS FOR KEEMBE FROM???? THESE ARE SOME OF THE THINGS THAT CAUSE TROUBLE BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE WILL START SUSPECTING UNDERHAND METHODS.SOMEONE TO TELL THE POST TO BEHAVE RESPONSIBLY! check this from the post election results:
    Keembe Chibombo Eligible voters=43,206;MMD=1126;PF=1915;UPND= 4420;HP=114

  370. ECZ is a suspect. Why have they taken the initial or partial results form their site? Judge Mumba I doubt your judgement in this matter.

  371. Stop all this talk about tribal crap,it’s evident enough from official results shown on the ECZ site that every voter cast their vote on tribal lines not just UPND supporters.

  372. the post that u guys are condemning today..u shall soon need it…just wait and see where your MMD will take u. MMD is anti poor and yet the poor keep voting for it out of ignorance. 17 years and we are no where..look at our tribal politics..look at the voting pattern..RB TB RB GUYS lets be serious with our Country…anyway Congratulations to RB and MMD..AT LEAST THIS TIME AROUND there was no rigging..it was just pure strategy..HH and SATA have paid heavily for failing to UNITE FOR A PURPOSE and MMD has exploited THIS!!!!! Well at least my life is not affected…..we shall see where the villagers will go to…more poverty

  373. Sometimes i tend to wonder what kind of registered voters are in rural areas than registered voters in urban areas and along the line of rail each coz time we have election MMD always talks about winning from rural areas, its a pitty that rural dwellers they dont seem to understand how much their selection affect them and they prefer depending on handouts from corrupt and self MMD governance. shame on vilagers.

  374. SO WHAT WAS THE PURPOSE OF DEVELOPPING ZAMBIAELECTIONSdotCOM, IF RESULTS CANNOT BE PUBLISHED THEREON, ANYWAY?

AND CAN WE LEARN MORE ABOUT THE MUNALI ALREADY MARKED BALLOT PAPERS FOR RUPIA BANDA? IS RIGGING GOING TO STOP IN ZAMBIA?

  375. #731.Waziona .Check the post Post frontpage postzambia*dot*com and u will see the link on USER MENU on the right side of the page.

  376. Anatola IV…TAKE IT EASY..we all know that u and I are previlaged zambians who are not really affected by the elections..its the rural dwellers who suffer more in this country..AND MAY THEY CONTINUE SUFFERING AS WE ENJOY..ALL BECAUSE OF MMD

  377. #734 The Post paper has lost credibility coz of the biased reporting & unethical practices just like the govt media so basically, the media in Zambia is crap, they are easily influenced.
#735 If you take time to read the statement by the ECZ spokeperson just when she was appointed, she gave reasons why results take long to come from rural areas beside, the folks in rural areas have been more sensible, how can the townfolks who are educated vote for an illiterate,it’s the blind man leading a fellow blind man situation what the urban voters have done bravo to the villagers for rejecting an illiterate man in preferrence for learned men who will bring development not cheap rhetoric.

  378. RUPIAH’S NEW CABINET
    PRESIDENT: RUPIAH BANDA
    VICE-PRESIDENT: EDITH NAWAKWI
    FOREIGN AFFAAIR: SAKWIBA SIKOTA
    HOME AFFAIRS: NEVERS MUMBA
    COMMERCE: MUTATI
    FINANCE: MAGANDE
    LOCAL GOVENMENT: MASEBO
    JUSTICE: KUNDA
    MINES: SHIKAPWASHA
    YOUTH: MPOMBO

  379. Munali presiding officer Godfrey Malwita at Nakatindi Hall was allegedly found with marked ballot papers for Vice-President Rupiah Banda in Lusaka yesterday. The MMD is at it again, trying to rig, they are really doing everything they can to win this election.

  380. DON’T INSULT THE VILLAGERS PLEASE.THESE ARE HUMBLE PEOPLE VALUE PEACE AND THEY ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT STABILITY OF A COUNTRY PRECEEDS DEVELOPMENT.THE PROBLEM WITH THE CITY DWELLERS IS THAT WHENEVER THERE’RE PROBLEMS IN THE COUNTRY ALL THAT COMES TO THEIR MIND FIRST IS “CHANGE”-EVEN WHEN THE CHANGE WILL BE FOR THE WORSE YOU WILL STILL HEAR THEM CHANT ‘CHANGE!’ CHANGE!”CHANGE!’.RURAL DWELLERS TOO WANT CHANGE BUT THEM THEY WOULD RATHER MAINTAIN THE STATUS QUO IF THE CHANGE WON’T BE FOR THE BETTER.MOST SUPPORTERS OF MMD LIKE ME CAN ADMIT THAT RB IS NOT THE BEST LEADER ZAMBIA CAN HAVE AT THIS TIME BUT GIVEN THE OTHER OPTIONS AVAILABLE,RB IS THE BETTER OPTION.I HOPE 2011 WILL GIVE US A BETA OPTION.

  381. jigga……WITH DUE RESPECT…COULD YOU KINDLY TABULATE THE DEVELOPMENT THAT MMD HAS BROUGHT TO THIS COUNTRY?? WHAT ARE THE INDICATORS….Then compare with KK who was not as educated…will appreciate a honest answer from you

  382. This is Democracy at its best. Zambia is now an adolesent democracy. Sata alala.
Those advocating opposition unity are just wasting time. I would never advise anyone sensible to unite with Sata.

  383. Anatola IV….i am a reasonable guy and i would like to admit that i now agree with your reasoning….You are right about RB…I am not a SATA supporter but i am frustrated with MMD which does not seem to be taking us anywhere after 17 years. That is my point..for how long are we going to wait for good leadership when there are not clear structures. look at the way MMD blocked people like MAZOKA and now CHIRWA…next time come 2011 you will find yourself with TETA or MPOMBO or MIKE(u know the Mike i am talking about here)IN STATE HOUSE..all in the name of stability and peace. whats your comment on this one

  384. Thanks LT a million times for providing us with data for free. Whoever wins deserve our support to fulfill the promises they made during compaigns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  385. #740.jigga you’re right on spot! You remind me of a jigga i knew on zambiasossa…..his analysis of issues showed was superb! With the way the Post has exposed its unprofessionalism since the succession wrangles,I’ve been wondering as to when Zambia is going to have a media that would meet the needs of zambians. The Post have been a big let down.

#739.CSHARP You’re right to say u&I are priveledged zambians but u’re wrong to think we’re not really affected by the elections. The villagers are our own pipo and their problems shuld be of concern to all of us regardless of where we are.I just want a CHANGE FOR THE BETTER and not just a mere change!

  386. Anatola IV..these are sharm elections..The electoral system is flawed. No continuous voter registration..just imagine how many people have attained the voting age since last elections. people who have relocated to long distances..its suits the MMD to have this status quo. as for CHANGE for the BETTER..What is about to happen is definately not CHANGE for the better…its a status quo that will make things worse..but i do agree with you…we seem to have had no REAL ALTERNATIVES this time around…I hope u do agree with me on this one

  387. #747.CSHARP From the way you’re flow of reasoning is coming out it appears to me that you & I have the same concerns and fundamentally we seem to belong to the same school of thought. We seem to have the same agenda for our country but it appears to me that you probably placed your hopes in a wrong person altogether! It appears to me that u thot Sata wuld bring about our desired +ve change that we would want our country to undergo.SATA wa wrong for Zambia in as far as the presidency is concerned.I’m glad u mentioned the man whom in my humble opinion think wuld bring that change to our country.I liked LPM but his resusal to support Prof Chirwa earned him a BIG minus from me.CHIRWA IS THE MAN.

  388. ANATOLA IV. Ni Hao. I very much conquer with everything you have said. Your analysis is spot on keep it up, congrats to RB, he is not the best but he is “better” than the other candidate. The other candidate would have taken us backwards in very long strides. We were scared that our Zed may be the next Zimbabwe, God forbid.

  389. It is sad that the MMD is rigging the election. This is not good for our country because we are setting precedence and will cause problems for us. Lets try to free and fare elections.

  390. Anything can happen and people should not be taken for granted. The best is to try an listen to what the people want and rig the elections

  391. CSHARP, About continuous voter registration, those are the things that ought to be included in the new constitution. But alas your man Sata has refused to support the CRC by threatening to expel all his MP who are attending. I wondered what could have happened to the Constitution making process had Sata ascended to the throne, discarding everything and start his own? I dont know, That is why we are saying he could have taken us backwards

  392. Very sad the rigging is not gong to work for the MMD. It’s about boys, just need to pack your bags and your little folders. Sata is here and tis time it’s happening.

  393. Anatola IV….I AGREE WITH U in totality…i should admit that i am one of those frustrated Zambians WHO really do not understand why Zambia is in this state when we should be far away. I blame bad and selfish and poor focussed leadership. We have always had potentially Good leaders in this country but they are never given chance. Imagine if Levy had accepted CHIRWA . Imagine if Kaunda had groomed Mwanakatwe. imagine if the BOZ man….FUNDANGA was given chance. These are just a few examples. Now watch out for RB’s next GVT..this is what frustrates me. it will payback time. people will be rewarded just like he was rewarded by Levy. You will see the Mlongotis, Tetas, Mpombos, bounce back.

  394. NOW this is my country and i will speak my mind…example…the technology minister..does he look like a sort of man who can drive technology in this country. imagine if Proff CHIRWA was nominated as MP and brought in as sCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY MINISTER…these are the issues i am talking about..I AM NOT A SATA man but at the level we are going…there is no hope for this country..JUST WATCH THE NEXT CABINET and u will know what i am talking about…

  395. CSHARP Your observations on our electoral system can’t be disputed.Actually it pains me more to realise that zambia with a population of about 12 million, there are only about 3.9 million of registered voters,i.e 33% of the population! So even if all the registered voters had to cast their votes the overall results wuld still reflect the will of the minority! As if thats not enuf, there’s even voter apathy! My take on all these problems is that we 1st and foremost need to maintain a stable enviroment and then remain hoping that a ‘Obama’ wuld arise from amongst us.I strongly believe that, that moment is not far from now.

  396. God is still in control over Zambia and he cares about the needs of Zambians. If indeed there was malpractice let God reveal what was done in the darkness, let it be brought out in the light and may God surely restore everything that belongs to Zambians. God bless Zambia and God bless Africa.

  397. dear zambians; we have to come to terms with the fact that there’s no party/idividual with the capacity to turn Zambia around currently. All these “leaders” Sata, HH, RB are inadequate men, surrounded by inadequate or lesser men and thus incapable of bringing change. If I was in Zambia I’d have simply flipped a coin to make a choice, coz none is different from the other. We lack a “man of the hour” capable of motivating us s a country- he or she is yet to come. the recent “man of the hour” Chiluba turned out to be a master looter amongst looters. But let’s not lose hope, the best is yet to come! Jah live children.

  398. forgot to add this CDP citizens democratic party? are they just an internet party or they have a small presence on te ground?

  399. I think Zambia is just destined for poverty and the people who have it the most control the destiny of the nation: Villagers!

  400. mossad-kgb,ni hao pengyou!

CSHARP Man,I might be perceiving RB wrongly,I don’t know….but my hope is that those names like the Mpombos,Teta,Mlongonti etc shuld be maintained just at party level and NOT in Govt.I’m looking forward to a time when in zambia party cadres will start getting ‘rewarded’ in a different way than appointing them to cabinet portifolios. The tricky part here my brother is that those Mpombos,Teta etc that u’re seeing are the ones responsible for those figures RB is getting from Masaiti,Solwezi and the like. Our Fundanga,Chirwa can’t mobilise supporters in those villages but its these Fundangas & Chirwas that we need to be policy makers so how do we strike a balance?

  401. MMD WILL WIN WITH ABOUT 600,000 VOTES. THIS IS REPRESENTING THE SIMPLE MAJORITY VOTERS WHO ONLY REPRESENT 7% OF THE 12 MILLION OF THE POPULATION IN THE COUNTRY. GOOD FOR ZAMBIA. GOOD FOR DEMOCRACY. FORWARD MMD

  402. Cool….now on another note: according to the post(i have counter checked their figures against 20 constituencies as announced by ECZ and they match 100%).

  403. If I may interject Anatola IV. I think that until this Zambian perception/philosophy of politics being a rewarding career comes to an end cadres will play a major role in Zambia’s destiny. And what will stop this condition is awakenaning to the Zambian people, prompted by a few honest politicians who will join hands and form a movement not focused only on state house, but to educate the masses first on their rights as citizens. That is what prompted our independence- a few good men. And if history is kind and consistent- it will eventually repeat itself and give us a few honest polticians to alter our course right now. JAH! ever ever faithful- ever sure (I and I is I-ditating with the herb)

  407. #762.wanyanya, Are you suggesting that if we understood tax(i.e if we don’t understand it!)then that would make Sata a suitable option for Zambia now? Is the issue of being able to lower tax the most important factor in selecting a leader of a nation?I suggest our education system makes such courses that promote CRITICAL THINKING compulsory to everyone. There’s something critically missing in our education system because a good number of supporters for some of these bogus politicians are “graduates” and the working class!Whats really wrong with us????????????????

  408. #776 Canadian, your numbers are really fraud. UPND and HP are not neck and neck. Check with your source. And I don’t think this is a typo. What happened to the Tonga Bull? Just became a cow AGAIN?

  409. These guys printed an extra of 1.2 million ballots meanining the approximate 600 pin which are out of the game plus the approximate 400pin for those they said were not captured in 2006. My worry is if these pipo who didnt vote are allowed to, doesnt it seem fair to just conduct a fresh voter registration so that we have a clear picture than saying they are going to use the 2006 register yet they added the 400pin. I bet this could be the magical figure that is going to knock the cobra out of the game and probably out of the race completely. No more of Sata come 2011.

  410. According to China Xinhua News Agency MMD were 27000 votes behind with 108 constituencies declared. Its gonna be a fight to the finishing line! By the way this was 90 minutes ago.God bless beloved Zambia whatever happens.

  411. #85…we dnt nid yo nu…d onli tink u shuld knw z dat RB has won…I have all d information…viva RB…!!!!!!

  412. No.777, you are right on spot. There is something wrong with our education system, and more with the ‘mentality’ of our people. It appears to me that even the so-called ‘villagers’ have a better judgment and understanding than the so-called ‘graduates’. How, on earth, can we have Sata as president in the 21st century? His cadres are, by default, violent – they are synonymous with insults, throwing stones, excessive drinking and smoking. And by extension, so is their leader. Add to that the the man’s failing health. But this is man our so-called graduates think will come and articulate issues in this global era we live. Shame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  413. In short from CSHARP’s analysis above SATA is remaining with 9 constituencies where he’ll emerge victorious. RB has 23 where he’ll either come out top or emerge 2nd to HH. 23 against 9.RB IS HEADED FOR VICTORY

  414. #770.Chibuku.I agree wit u bt tell me,hw much longer shall we have to wait b4 we eventually start seeing those honest politicians?I personally feel we already have sum of our pipo who can make “honest politicians” but those corrupt politicians who are already in the system are very good at blocking potentially honest politicians from getting into the system. The other sad reality is the fact that sum of our pipo whom we wuld have expected 2 make honest politicians became corrupted once they got into the system!I always look at how good and honest FTJ was as a trade unionist in KK’s era and it pains me that this is the same man later on ruined our nation the moment he got power 2 improve it.

  415. #784, SPOT ON!!! I THINK THOSE OF US PA CHINA ARE VERY MUCH ON THE SAME FREQUENCY.. I TEND TO WONDER ALSO WHY THE SO CALLED EDUCATED GUYS SINK SO LOW TO BE CHEATED BY THIS GUY. THOSE FROM THE VILLAGES ARE EVEN MAKING BETTER ANALYSES THAN SOME OF US THE “EDUCATED” ONES. COME ON GUYS MWILATUSEBANYA.

  416. ANATOLA IV, If you remember, MAZOKA had intentions of vying for MMD Presidency. He started from BAULENI ward as Ward Chairman. SATA saw that Mazoka was a threat, he wrote a letter to Chiluba that “this man is a threat, he has a vision and has mobilised alot of pipo from the grassroots, we need to kick him out of the Party”. They quickly annulled the BAULENI elections and frustrated Mazoka. That is how Mazoka left MMD. Now when young and brilliant guys like HH the CHIRWAS express ambitions to contest for Presidency, they tell them to start from the WARD, meanwhile they are the same characters who eliminate upcoming leaders from the political ranks. I tend to wonder such double standards.

  417. A little part of me would like Sata to win just to see him make a blunder of it all especially in these times of the credit crunch and falling copper prices but then I remember that we are actually talking about the future of our country and it is not a joke. Have you seen the man’s teeth – does he actually brush them?

  418. #37.Anonymous, substantiate your claims.Ignore my challenge if its just frustration getting the better side of you.We need data not personal feelings because those feelings can only be explained in line with the hormones being secreted in your body.If there’s rigging, whoever is involved-be it Justice Mumba,Kalale or RB himself-we shouldn’t accept the results. In the meantime lets substantiate our claims and take the neccessary steps to address the issue. Our current laws are adequate on that one.But more importantly,LETS BE HONEST!Its normal to feel bad after our prefered candidates have lost but lets not peddle lies because the consequences may be far more reaching than we can imagine now.

  419. #790 Anonymous, I challenged u to give us supporting data for your claims on the other discussion board where your same claim was posting #37 and u never responded.I didn’t know that u ran here to make the same claims so my man Anatola IV has followed you even here with the same challenge:SUSTANTIATE YOUR CLAIMS.

  420. #790 provide evidence of rigging. In my opinion this looks like the most transparent vote we’ve ever had. Its painful but just accept defeat.

  421. Morning people. Just woken up in readiness for the 9 a.m. results session. Braced myself for a PF defeat seeing that last night the body language spoke alot.

  422. VIVA RB!!!! MMD HAS CARRIED THE DAY, JUST WAIT FOR ECZ TO CONFIRM THE RESULTS AND CHIEF JUSTICE TO DECLARE RB AS A WINNER OF 2008 ELECTIONS AND AS FOUTH PRESIDENT OF ZAMBIA,Waaa!

  423. I am sure there are others to update the group. I am leaving for town and so will only participate in the post-results analysis.

  424. OK.

I am here to congratulate the MMD for the win in these elections.

We would also like to thank Mr. Sata for participating in these elections and for all the work he has done for our country. As Mr. Sata goes to retire, we urge him to contribute further to the Zambian economy by buying a farm somewhere in Southern Province and endorse HH for 2011 (if he will be standing).

We thank him for giving it a good run. As for HH, all I have to say is as a business man, you are familiar with the concept of don’t be afraid to fail. You failed this time but you will most definitely succeed in 2011.

Thank you. Now lets move on with our daily lives.

Anyone here any new jokes lately??

  425. i have no problems RB winning my problem is people sarrounding him the thieves of old men how long she we keep them zambia will sink even lower this time cause RB cant put up wit the guys around him they want high salaries and gratuity not the zambian pipo at heart am sick of politics they are a dirty game truly

  426. Zambia has become a nation of cheaters. Students cheat in examinations, they cheat to be admitted to the two, is it three universities, and our leaders – sorry, politicians cheat to be elected into office. One politician even cheated against frogs. Mwebantu.

  427. ba post nomba twali bawelamo….even if you are pf supporters please give us all the news. or atleast change the name to pf tabloid

  428. most of ya’ll blogerz are in foreign countries! shame lost votes! just voicing you cant even vote! just send us the mulaz via western union!

  429. BREAKING NEWS!!!!!

PF & UPND cadres ran after a truck, chasing it behind because they thought it was carrying marked ballots.Apparently the truck had labels ‘ECZ’ written on it.The poor driver obliged so they impounded the truck, and quickly jumped into the back of the truck to inspect the contents. These cadres are now admitted in ICU @ UTH because the truck belonged to the Enviromental Council of Zambia(ECZ) and it was carrying dangerous waste material(including some radioactive material!!!!!!) for disposal to disignated site!

  430. Latest update on zambiaelectiondotorg
    Totals (113/150 Constituencies)

    PF 603,852 41%
    MMD 553,884 38%
    UPND 276,051 19%
    HP 11,217 1%
    Void 12,193 1%
    Percentage of results verified: 48%

The following constituences in Northern and Luapula have not yet been included in their count: Kaputa, Chimbamilonga, Senga Hill, Lupoposhi, Chilubi, Isoka East, Chipili, Chifunabuli, Luapula and Chembe.

  431. MMD Chaps be realistic. Have you seen the margin between you Mphuno and pa bwato? Sata is winning and mind you results from some stronghold not yet in. Bola panshi!!!!

  432. HP’s Miyanda – spotting a ridiculous red hat – says he is proud of his parties achievements. Out of 128 constituencies, HP has a little above 10, 000 votes – less than the spoiled votes.

  433. Can MMD rig elections in Chembe with “Levy Mwanawasa” bridge in sight? I saw that MMD had close to 11000 while Sata was somwhere too far. PF should just call that rigging!

  434. #811,

Cant remember the exact figure but the difference between PF and MMD is about 35, 000 with PF still leading. Remaining constituencies: 22

  435. Totals (128/150 Constituencies)

    PF 662,604 42%

    UPND 297,311 19%
    HP 11,659 1%
    Void 17,510 1%

There is something wrong with the raw data cause the void 1% (17510) is not the same as HP’s (11, 659) 1%. As ECZ subcontracted these guys to keep us informed? Suspect!!! First you send a General to intimdate folks and now you start giving us Raw data that does’nt add up. I even see the rationale that the MMD will make up the small margin in the Rural areas (aka Central Province)? Would it not make sense that there would be more apathy there? The Mortality and movement exuse used for apathy is more evident there than the Urban areas. Where the loss of a voter card would be probable and its loss

  437. more apt. (continued). I think Chitala and Co should think about resting like most have advocated about M’membe. HH should consider plan B, but with signifcant infulence with national and economic policy to bloster the poor image of the two. That could really be the reason for urban voter apathy or poor registeration turn out.

  438. Go to election.org.zm ECZ has posted the resulted they have announced so far. Latest 10:30 Central african time. Next update will be at 15:00hrs Central african time. Don’t be confused by the some bogus bloggers

  440. ITS NOW TIME PF AND UPND POOLED THEIR RESOURCES (VOTES) TO DISLODGE MMD. THIS IS THE CALL FROM EVERY WELL MEANING ZAMBIAN WITH INTEREST AT HEART TO DEVELOP ZAMBIA. WE ZAMBIANS ARE HUMBLY ASKING BOTH PARTIES TO BURY THEIR HATCHETS AND JOIN HANDS. WE DO NOT WANT MMD/UNIP AGAIN. THERE IS TOO MUCH POVERTY IN THE COUNTRY WITH ALMOST EVERYTHING. TO PUT IT SIMPLY, PF, UPND PLEASE PUT TOGETHER YOUR VOTES AND KICK OUT MMD. THANKS.

  441. #825 Peter it’s too late, HH was too arrogant to accept anything but the presidential position. Now he’s a job seeker again (but I’m sure he will do OK)

  442. #821 Sihuwa. The results posted on zambiaelectionsdotorg are exactly -THE SAME- as those from ECZ, particularly now that they are verifying them. They are very reflective of the voting pattern in all constituences announced by ECZ on its website. Here are the latest results with 12 constituences to report.

  443. But uyu wine, Void. mIYANDA SHOULD RETIRE FROM POLITICS. The man wasted his contributors funds. He had no chance from the start. ” FAIL TO PREPARE THEN PREPARE TO FAIL”. i love that phrase. Munkoyo my brother. i have the highest regard for you, and should you ever stand for any political office,”mark my words”, you have my vote. Thank you for constantly updating us.There are alot of anxious zambians around the world. Thanks everyone for being our eyes and ears back home.Muli Baume!

    2.Sata’s photo (taken now)
3.The reporters at the post whom Mmembe was using to cover Sata and
4.RB’s passport size photo showing his backside only!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey RB supporters where are we meeting for the victory party????????????????? I suggest we 1st organise a pre-victory party thereafter we’ll have an intra-victory party and for the next 3 yrs we will be in the post victory party!!!!!!!
I campaigned heavily for RB so the man has promised to reward me by dancing wit our NEW 1st LADYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY…..Thandiweeeeeeeeeeee.
We told u poll bearers for Sata & HH but u never wanted to listen.
    MYSRIP

  446. We will keep our Katundu at Goverment House for now. Someone on this site said that” we have bin hear before,2001 and 2006. i view that for as long as Tonga’s see bembas as theives and for has long as Bemba’s see Tonga as tribalist. these two group if they dont unite will find it hard to have a tonga or bemba president for mant years to come.”

  447. 830 You are really a joker!!! The Winner has’nt even been decided and you are LOL like you know if these guys have’nt been meet behind closed doors. Do’nt forget that they have made impossible promises that Government has no capacity to fullfil in the next century. You think RB’s are LMP’s policies (dude wake up and smell the coffee). Sata will drive the donors with his silly theatrics so brace yourselves for alliance. If HH is smart he will use his trump card for a broader appeal. Please dont discount the 1%. Statistically is of no measure but that 1% could used by RB to edge off PF and get ahead, if HH says no to a PF/UPND team.

  448. anatolla 4, you have issues mune! i laughed for a very long while at the ECZ truck story. Hollywood needs you!!! As far as your political affiliation is concerned, dont throw yourself off Manda Hill or which ever shopping mall you like to hang out at! I congratulate you on a first-rate sense of humour, boyi.

  449. Miyanda is the first presidential candidate to be beaten by JOHNNY Q. VOID. General your troops have gone AWOL. Its a shame to hear of a military man like yourself surrendering before the final count.Where’s the pride? Coalition is the way forward for opposition parties. That stops all funny business. As far as BWEZANI RUPIAH A BANDA is concerned, i would like to know where VJ has been????????

  450. Iwe George W.Mpanga ilyo ishina lyobe likakuletelela one day esp if u enter politiks unless u convice pipo that yo last name Mpanga means a FOREST and not a BUSH!But imwe guys mwebali uko kuma abroad how true is that Joe the plumber has made it into hollywood as a country music singer( i read from yahoo 2de!).If its true then pls napapata sana iwe George W.Mpanga since u’re in the same party with McCain, can u make lines 4 Sata 2b included as one of backing vocalists for Joe the plumber?I’m sure a lot of u folks here wuld agree wit me that our beloved Sata has a voice typical of country music legends!I’ll greatly appreciate, thanks!

  455. I think the pabwatooooo people are in the loo. Something is wrong with the stomachs and I think so is Membe and the Post newspaper. He now has to face the President in court.

  456. Of all the participating Presidential Candidates, whichever one wins still wins as a Zambian. All we can hope for is that in that person’s mind and political party to which he belongs, he wins for Zambia and her people.

Long live Zambia. God bless the nation!

  457. Let me remind all those who are going on about PF. we are resilient and we shall not give up on Zambia. Tetamashimba was just saying that his government (MMD) will look closer at issues of poverty that were raised by Sata, because there are certain items government may not have been aware of. 60% of people live in poverty… i thought issues of poverty should have been very obvious to the ruling party…now RBians are you sure of the choice you have made?

  458. “One Zambia, One Nation”…it is apparent Zambians lost the wisdom that our Great Father Dr Kaunda taught us.

Tribalism is based on insecurity, insecurity is based on selfishness and not knowing. Corruption is born out of self interest and insecurity. if you ask me what corruption is….its not very far from the “T” word.

You want to fight corruption?…tongas realise bembas are people like you, with feelings, motivations and lives to led. Voting in Northern province was more represenative of how Zambians should vote. but look at the south!

    Abashi tribalism!!!!!!!

Tongas learn to mingle with others.

  459. #852 HEFLICK, EACH PARTY HAS A STRONG HOLD, SEE HOW PF LOST IN WESTERN, NW, AND PART OF CENTRAL, DO NOT BLAME TONGAS, BRAME BEMBAS ON CB&LUSAKA WHO NORMALLY VOTE WITH HEART NOT WITH BRAINS.

  460. 853, stop insulting the people of Zambai, the people of Zambia wanted an honest president, not this imposed RB. Why should the MMD strong hold be the last to be counted and vote or only in remote areas and be supported by un informed people?

  461. Ndaakona lino basa. Ndiya kulibonya kuzyopamaanza kulibaboobatika zunde. Aabo batikazyundwe ndizi kubapa imajwi aabeledde. Mupone cibotu no bantu a cisi cesu toonse tobana Zambia.

  462. PF WAS LEADING UP TO 136 CONSTITUENCIES OUT OF 150, and yet MMD KNEW IN ADVANCE THAT THEY WILL WIN. RIGGED-HEADS RIGGED THE ELECTIONS WITHOUT CONSIDERING THE COUNTRY’S ECONOMIC STABILITY NOR THE NEEDS OF ZAMBIANS.MMD CAN CELEBRATE ANOTHER CHANCE OF STEALING FROM THE POOR BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT MMD STANDS FOR.

  463. I liked as much as you will obtain carried out proper here. The cartoon is tasteful, your authored subject matter stylish. however, you command get bought an shakiness over that you wish be delivering the following. ill no doubt come more previously once more as precisely the same nearly very incessantly inside of case you shield this increase.
