Defence minister George Mpombo says the Zambia – Congo DR border will remain safe despite the on going
war in the eastern part of the neighbouring country.
Mr Mpombo said the fighting in eastern Congo was a saddening situation and has thus made the Zambian defence force to be on the alert to avoid the war spilling over into Zambia.
He said this in an interview with ZANIS in Lusaka Sunday.
Zambia is paert of the concerned states attending a special meeting of the great lakes region meeting in Nairobi, kenya to find a lasting Solution in the DRC.

George Mpombo saying that our border is safe? Not if it was up to him. It’a amazing that the same man that oversaw the 2005 fuel crisis is now in charge of our defence forces. He needs to be replaced as soon as possible. RB should get rid of the “family tree” appointees.
