Community Development and social services minister Michael Kaingu (second from left) was among students who graduated from the management college of Southern Africa (MANCOSA) at the weekend

Community development minister Michael kaingu was conferred the Degree of a Masters of Business administration MBA, Tourism Development and management with distinctions in accounting for Decision making managerial finance.

The Management College of South Africa (MANCOSA) graduation ceremony was held at intercontinental hotel in Lusaka, Sunday.

MANCOSA managing Director Professor  Hussen Rasool  said lack of control in management levels has caused the  global financial Crisis hence the challenge is to  remain contributing to the economic development.

Professor Rasool noted that risk management polices in the banking system are responsible for the  currentfinancial global crisis and has also created the in balances in the countries in African.

  1. Basa, is this news? We are supposed to be proud because someone in govt has a Masters? They should all be educated people!! It’s nothing to sing about!

  2. WESLEY NGWENYA ALSO HAS A SIMILAR QUALIFICATION WITH VAST INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE: “Business Administration and Marketing”. IF YOU AS A MINISTER APPRECIATE EDUCATION, EMPLOY THE BOY.

  3. AND DID YOU HAVE TO USE TAX PAYERS’ MONEY TO THROUGH A PARTY. DOES MANCOSA HAVE A BRANCH IN ZAMBIA TO HOLD SUCH A LAVISH PARTY FOR AN INDIVIDUAL? DONT GET ME WRONG I LOVE PEOPLE BEING EDUCATED BUT OTHER CITIZENS’ EDUCATION SHOULDN’T BE MORE SPECIAL THAN OTHERS. THAT BOY (WESLEY) YOU HAVE NEGLECTED IS MORE EXPOSED THAN SOME OF YOU CHAPS AND WITH HIS EXPERINCE AND EXPOSURE, CAN PERFORM WONDERS.

  4. It is a news, and achievement for the Hon Minister. Luitumezi mubelekile mwana poho yensu. It is pit you have been misplaced in your currect position. I hope Bwana RB will put you in right position.

  5. Just learn to appreciate, you kaponyas who have never been to school, that’s why you can not vote correctly. At least the man has gotten educated even in old age.

  6. GOOD LUCK. I DON’T KNOW THE BEST TIME TO READ, WHILE ON DUTY OR TAKING LEAVE. SERVING TWO ISSUES AT ONCE IS NOT PROPER, ONE SIDE CAN BE AFFECTED. SO HE SAT IN THE OFFICE STUDYING INSTEAD OF WORKING AS MINISTER.

  7. #16 see comment #12.I just whats wrong with wishing our fellow blogger a happy birtday? Nafwaka Iyo ulelanda Nsaikatapo nokuikatapo.I forgive you coz I love you as a brother?sister in Christ.God bless you my dear.

  8. It is news because of who it is. If No 1 or 4 got the qaulification it would not be news. It is a fact of life that even what dog Obama chooses for his daughters will be news but the dog you choose will never be. Stop the hatred and get real. As for No 7 the bash was not thrown for the minister alone but all the graduands. I hope this has educated you.

  9. No. 18 whilst some use their spare time drinking and womanising, others read to further their education. Try it, it may broaden your view of life.

  10. Bamayo ba #21 any chance nimwe ba Kiss a s s? Where is that flag rom? Just being nosey! I did my social studies but Ido not remember coming across such a horrible flag! No offence!

  11. Quite interesting that a minister has time to complete an MBA !!I suppose the purpose of this story is to show the rest of us that being “busy” or focussed on serving the people (as we expect all politicians to be) is not an excuse not to study further !!

  12. Well said # 25. Education has no limit and achieving such a grade at his age while serving is encouraging. Congratulations Mr. Minister and I hope you put the qualifications to good use. All the best!! Lets learn to give credit where it is due for both professional and personal development.

  13. Ba LT sometimes! Not everything that ministers do is worth covering. Wont the whole world think this is the first Zambian Minister to get an MBA!

  14. congratulations.School is good no matter at what age. Some of these people posting negatives their mothers do not have that qualification.A good thing will never be wrong.Pliz mwemafala tasheni.Any mufala to challenge me,post your tel no.pliz pa Zambia mwachilamo amajelasi

  15. This is the kind of inferiority complex we don’t need. This person is not the first one to get such a qualification. There are several MBAs, PhDs, and this little nonsense is not worth the news.

  16. So what that he has an MBA. Is this news sure? Whom are they trying to show when so many Zambians are educated and cant get a job. This is the reason why this country cant develop.

I dont need an MBA to think.

GIVE US NEWS BA LT PLEASE.

  17. Politicians and popular pipo always graduate with flying colours. Interesting. Even Mama Maureen while in France was boosting if getting distictions in her MBA courses. What really is being tought in these courses that matures are excelling?

  18. Hon. Kaingu – an MBA is nothing to write home about. I got my PhD at the age of 25. Did I have hold press conferences to announce the same. People like prof. Chirwa invented the landing gear for the planes you use, did they hold press conferences about it? Be real and know where you belong. You also seem to have a complex like FTJ. What is wrong with you dwarfs in mind kanshi?

  19. ‘Community development minister Michael kaingu was conferred the Degree of a Masters of Business administration MBA, Tourism Development and management with distinctions in accounting for Decision making managerial finance.

The Management College of South Africa (MANCOSA)…’
Congratulations Mr Kaingu. I hope the Undereducate will take a leaf from you i.e. that even at mature level one can still go to school to improve his/her education per adventure one day he/she may have qualificatoions to stand for Zambian President under the new Constitution that will come from the NCC at the end of 2009. Take careful care and be blessed Mr Kaingu. You are such a role model to the whole Nation.

  20. #33. Bauze – UNZA Prof Chirwa did not invent the “landing gear for the planes you use”, but ‘invented a passive load energy absorber that is now used in all the aircraft that fly today’ in his own words.
This Prof. Chirwa invention was a result of his PhD studies in UK, I think, at the University of Cranfield.

#22. Zedian, you wrote “He still has to get a PHD though!Dr KD Kaunda Dr FTJ Chiluba Dr Mwanawasa”, The 3’s Doctorates are Honorary ones not PhDs and I reckoned it good to define PhD for you as:Ph.D.: a doctorate usually based on at least 3 years graduate study and a dissertation; the highest degree awarded graduate study. Source: wordnet.princeton. e d u/ perl /webwn.

  21. People please, lets write things that will help us build one another and the nation,am sure we can all lean from each other.

  22. #37. Nick kabaso london, good and very important posting.

This is why I am on LT as Maestro (Teacher) Hhehhehhehhe to impart knowledge to my fellow Citizens and others while I also learn things I dont know from them.

The name maestro was given to me by a certain woman who works at the UTH/UNZA-School-of-Medicine who studied in the US. It can came through while I was inducting her coloured daughter with mathematics just before she sat for he exams some years back.

Surely, we can all learn from each other and build our Great Nation Zambia instead of insulting and having ‘kalijo’ – MC Wabwino song.

  23. The Management College of South Africa (MANCOSA)is a college,CBU is university there, plus there MBA is a hard one, there is just a very big difference .Thats why this dull chap was able to get a distinction, lucky he is cause he already has a job, otherwise no one will employ him from a kantemba college.

  24. The Management College of South Africa (MANCOSA)is a college far from CBU which is university ,plus there MBA is a hard one, there is just a very big difference .Thats why this dull chap was able to get a distinction, lucky he is cause he already has a job, otherwise no one will employ him from a kantemba college.

    • MBA are studied at business schools, my friend. Check the world’s top 100 and see how many colleges aka business schools there are .

  25. #22, Its RB who should get a PHD before he leaves office coz thats the tradition and he only has three years to go. He must enroll in January hahaha.

  26. Mancosa is wack, and substandard, Kaingu would have sent me a cold if he was right here in UK or alteast pa Cape Town’s Rhodes University …No. 3 pa Africa.
    Otherwise, ifimputumputu wacky!!!!!!!!!!!!

  27. #44. Abantu Baya, nice advice to President RB Banda, but time is tricky for him. January/Feb. 2009 to November 2011 is less than 3 years and so pressure of Presidential work and age will not do him good in terms of health after possible studying for long hours. The best he can do is make sure the Auditor General’s great award winning stint practices are taken seriously under GRZ so that the government can implement all and many more of its campaign promises. This would-be case could invoke some university somewhere to give President RB Banda an Honourary Degree like formwr Presidents Mr Chiluba (Hon. Doctor, Malawi) and late Mr Mwanawasa (Hon. Doc., USA) got.
    Anhway, the choice is his.

  28. RB is cannot contain that…life is tricky for him righn now, national issues, and the baby girl..he definately needs viagra!

  29. Plunderers & riggers in everything! They plunder and rig the economy, money, investors, elections and now its education with flying colours. Unless you have never been a monk, to get a distinction in a research degree require absolute devotion of the mind, soul and body ( I have two MSc(s)! Can someone tel me how Kaingu manged this given his demanding job as minister ; bull & MP etc? These commercial colleges that graduate people without proper attire are just minting money and capitalising on the docile zambian community. Look at the title of the MBA itself,,, Masters of Business administration MBA, Tourism Development and management with distinctions in accounting for Decision making managerial finance. Malabishi.

  30. Hey #33, its not Hon. Kaingu who told LT to publish this story. He was simply attending his own graduation ceremony. Why are you bitter about it? You know very well that a person like you will not be covered in the press for such an achivement youare not a notable person. If a minister was to marry today, that would news on all T.V, Radio stations and in most newspapers in the country where as yours would just be one of those things.

  31. #50 you are obsolutely correct, you cannot get distinction by research…never, reason simple, methodologies will always have flaws because of an element of subjectivity, especially in Social Sciences. I am a natural scientist, atleast 2+2, shall always be 4, and 4-2 shall always be 2..hehehehehe!

Mancosa sangatiwuze at Kaingu ana charger!

  32. Why is Kaingu suffering like this? A few days ago, he got booed while giving his guest of honour speech – the man couldn’t even conclude it – and now his achievement is being received with mixed feelings.

  33. Dear bloggers education as no limit, norwardays with this advanced technology pipo are even getting bachelors or MBA’s through distance learning and online,so as we have access to these computers and internet things lets use them wisely to further our education.

  34. #52. Casey Khisho, do you perhaps mean ‘by correspondence’ in your “you cannot get distinction by research…never, reason simple, methodologies will always have flaws because of an element of subjectivity, especially in Social Sciences.”

I have a lot of friends who have obtained distinctions in Masters Degree research at the University of Cape town and Rhodes University in South Africa and so I am having trouble taking in your point of view or argument. If you care, please, re-phrase or re-submit your point(s).

  35. #55 you are absolutely right! some chaps who are condemning or be-littling the Minister’s MBA are just Diploma holders who can’t even use the internet facility to further their education.

  36. congrats to the man, but the education of some of the cabinet ministers bothers me. how do you expect someboby whose secretary is even more qualified to develop policies that will work? how come these so called ministers can’t make decisions without the approval of their boss? what is the use of ministries?
i think we need to set high standards for ministerial and all government positions.
sometimes we zambians are to blame for the never ending poverty and economic missmanagement.

  37. #56, you are right too. Masters Degree is not entirely reseach based, there are some papers one has to sit for in an Exam room. There is also nothing to suggest that Managerial Finance and Accounting for Decision Making are research based. Its possible for one to get distinctions in the two subjects.

  38. #58. toko, on your “we need to set high standards for ministerial and all government positions”,consider the following in // topic:
Zambia is very very very rich in everything including human resource, but the current Constitution has been a hurdle towards making meaningful progress since it allows undereducated and semi-illiterates to manipulate the whole Nation.I hope President RB Banda and his Veep for our country Minister G.Kunda will make sure that the new Constitution through the NCC will include minimum educational qualifications for people seeking to be Zambian President and MP of constituencies, say Masters Degree though previously I used to recommend Grade 12 School Certificate.

  39. His MBA won’t build roads, put medicine in hospitals and government teachers in front of their students. Tell him to take that MBA and put it where the sun don’t shine.

  40. all u haters, dont hate, apreciate! this should encorage young people! i feel bad for all you haters, you dont see the wider picture. check all you out with all your narrow minds, please learn to grow up a little! i actually find it quite entertaining the way you guys critisize!

  41. #35 Maestro Hhehhehhehhe.

You obviously didn`t see the irony in my post and I am not surprised. I do not like talking to you. You are a loner we know. Desperately looking for friends on here. How sad!

Look at the post again you erm erm cretin!

  42. but zooona pa zed!!!.what is so good about some old minister getting MBA at his age?why not educate someone who younger and energetic. This old guy will sit on the paper, what a waste!!!!!!!

  43. People get rid off these evils:
    1.Ignorance
    2.Jealousy
    3.Bitterness

Whenever you expose your ignorance here and you get lucky that someone corrects you please be appreciative. If you can’t admit it publicly atleast learn in silence and keep quiet!

#60 Maestro Hhehhehhehhe, you don’t need to have friends on this blog but your postings on the current article are very educative so keep it up!By the way,is LT meant for ‘making friendships’ or debating issues of common interest to our country?Educate me.

  44. You pipo should just give credit whenever necessary. You are the same pipo that have been calling SATA all sort of name becoz he is a grade 4 as you claim. Honestly its not SO PAINFUL to just say congrats to the old man for what he has achieved despite his age. At least he has done his best and he is far much better than most of you that are posting negative things about him. Education is power and expensive at the same time. You never know the circumstances surrouding his late aquisition of the MBA maybe there was no one to sponsor him hence STOP JUDGING HIM!!!

  45. Appreciate one’s achievement. The old man has put in his best by sacrificing both his finance and time. Mancosa is a reputable university college. Its not the question of the university pipo should talk about, but is one able to deliver? Ve been to CBU and am now pursuing an MBA with MANCOSA with a concentration in finance. The programme far much better structured than the one offered at our local University. Was accepted at CBU, biut opted for a foreign one coz of the way the course is. EIfyo banejust pound and better things are coming later. All the best ba Kaingu.

  46. #65, what makes you so sure this man didn’t use his own money? As a minister he needs the MBA even more. Any serious person should save for education. Some chaps spent a lot on booze every week then claim they don’t have money for such important ventures – somebody somewhere must always sponsor them.

Its a good thing for person, regardless of age, to get back to school.

  47. #23 tell them

#1, #6, #9 and others KALIJO. jelous people ndiye mubweza chalo kumbuyo. someone gets an MBA and you cant congratulate him. if you cant pass exams to get an MBA for yourself thats not kaingu’s problem. In life not all of us can be intelligent at school in such a case the best is to appreciate your dullness and move on without reduculng those that make it. For those of us with humble educational backgrounds and no qualifications lets join hands with Mr Sata and identify a one eyed man amoung the blind to lead us.

  48. #
    2Zedian and others,
Kaunda, Chiluba, and Mwanawasa do not have PhDs. The others on this rather infamous list are Roger Chongwe, Nevers Mumba, Cosmo Mumba, Dan Pule, Ridgeway Liwena, etc, etc. What they have are honorary doctorates. In more civilized countries, you don’t call yourself Dr. Something because of an honorary doctorate. Nelson Mandela and Muhammad Ali have doctorates, but nobody addresses them as Doctors. MANCOSA is certainly below the standards of CBU. I taught there for one and half years, and discontinued because i didn’t want to tarnish my reputation. We had a weird situation where my former students who only had a first degree were teaching MBA students with me! To add

    • MBAs are studied at business schools, my friend. Check the world’s top 100 and see how many colleges aka business schools there are .

  49. Well done Mr Minister, all I ask of you is that you now start acting your EDUCATION. Seeing your actions during the campaigns, one would have been excused to think you even forged you G7 certificate!!

  50. BA LT you have disappointed us. Have u ever heard of the journalism adage: ‘when a dog bites a man, thats not news, but when a man bites a dog, thats news’? Your article is not news!

  51. #77 Zedian is trying to make a poignant nub here please… It is important sometimes to take heed and note. His irony is implicit of an opposite effect. Bloggers, we must learn everyday, everytime – I am sure Zedian has his literary skills very nicely placed as I can see; however sometimes emotive tone is difficult in script but once it has been pointed out (by the author), we must respectfully take heed! Thanks man.

  52. #75 Ponyanx ba kaamba its ok kuti mwa condema but atleast I’m happy you don’t sound that bitter over Kaingu’s MBA like some pipo here.I’m not studying towards a masters in china and I’m not even in china. But tell me Ponyanx,do all these flags I see here represent the true location of the bloggers?

  53. #72 despite your respectable qualifications your coments sound too negative.(PHD-pull him down) as an accademician i expected you to encourage people of Zambia to go to any affordable and registered school they can afford. Its better to have a weak PHD than none, infact if your first degree is say from harvad then it doesnt matter where i get the masters because my first degree will sort out credibility issues when i compete for a job. After all a masters is only a research paper. there is a lot of illitracy in our country, lets encourage people to go to whatever schools they can go to and congratulate whoever successfully manages to complete especially our leaders whether we like them or not

  54. It`s news Enigma for God`s sake! A minister has got a masters. More like we heard when a certain president went to commission a fly over bridge some years back. God knows how many they would commission in other parts of the world.

Hope you are not like some cretins I have seen on here and see the irony in my post.

  55. Without sounding like a playa hater, MANCOSA mba is a mediocre MBA not worth it’s salt even in RSA! FYI, MANCOSA refused to take part in an independent assessment to rate and rank South African MBA’s! Credible business schools like Cape Town, Wits, UNISA etc all took part in the assessment process. But for some reason, Zambian’s easily get excited over these kantemba qualifications when our very own run down varsities like UNZA/CBU can even deliver more credible degrees. I suggest you bloggers read an interesting piece that Edem Djokotoe wrote in The Post regarding these kantemba institutions!!!

  56. Congratulations Hon Kaingu.

That is time and money well spent. This is much much more productive than spending your time and money slaughtering women.

Well done, you have made us proud and you are an encouragement to the young ones.

  57. #80 Anonymous
Good morning to you too!!! I know that yesternight was much better for you since it was your turn to sleep in the corridor. But please it it early on in the morning please contribute intelligently to the subject at hand. For pete’s sake it is early I am sure your brain can do some of the simple thinking tasks.

  58. #83 I honestly don`t know. I wish I did, but the flag I have is correct.

Namwebene abena Zambia ngauli kwi? Ponyanx afumakofye pa Zed bonse mwashala mwabutuka eyashani?

  59. Alot of Zambians are consumed with way too much vanity. This explains why KK, FJT & LPM went out their way to aquire (& beg for) bogus PhD’s from small time universities. Giants like Mandela, Bill Clinton etc have all been conferred with honorary PhD’s from the world’s finest institutions but you don’t hear them pronouncing their ‘DR’ status! I won’t be surprised if Matero University confer a doctorate on Bwezani Banda in the near future! Soon thereafter, we’ll have Dr. Sata (Lord help us)! Let’s stop clowing around for once and focus on real developmental issues…

  60. Congratulations to Hon Kaingu for this qualification.
In Zambia there is a scarcity of Tourism Management qualifications at Degree Level. I can mention the few that have it Donald Pelekamoyo,Anne Chipimo, Solicistor Cheelo,Dominic Mangani and Ms Wake at the Ministry of Tourim. Most of the qualifications end up at Diploma level.
Your may note that this is Hon Kaingu’s third degree.
He is indeed a role model

  61. #88 Morning Golyati. I was trying to ring my mother yesterday but couldn`t get through. I wrote my sister who was at work where she uses the net like you. She replied saying load shedding so the phone was off. My mother is old fashioned she refuses to have a mobile phone.

I bet wacilokwa nemfula pakufuma pa station. lol!

  62. Goodmorning, good evening, good night, good afternoon, good early morning every one! Please fellaz lets desist from using language that is injurious to an individual.e.g. bakaamba ba # 24.

  63. Education is not the solution to the Zambian development problems,We have been performing better in terms of Education compared to most of developing and emerging nations. South Korea compressed full Industrial development at the time when the literacy level where lower than Zambia. The military leader Park regime redirected the country’s development process with high despline and dedication and commitment to national development plans.
Ministerial appointments are done with no consideration for proffesion educational except for one ministry (MOF),Lack of meritocracy promotions and recruitments is a big sign of planning failure. Investment in Research and Development ,goes beyond simple

  64. #92 Anonymous

You and your sister must be really dull, who told you that power outage affects telephones. Telephones still work even when there is no power. Unless you want to make us believe that your mother has a pbx/switchboard in the house.

Take a cue from HON kaingu and study instead of spending your free time at sohoiyCommon spend

  65. Cont’
online and unchallenging MBAs .Let the government officers identify our needs and decide the economical path to take .

  66. #97 Golyati. I doubt you have been outside like you claim. Really you have never seen phones which use power all these years? I knew I would get you on this one.

Some help abatutu aba sure! My God! There have been there for years now Golyati. Blimey so my mother who is old fashioned is better than you after all!

Guys out there any one not seen a phone which uses power?

  67. There are alot of phones that uses power,we have one back home and seen a number in Roma neighbourhood.I dont know about other Zambian places.Infact a good phone uses power coz you can use for a number of functions.

  68. Seriously Golyati if you have been round the world like you claim you would have seen one. Ba Mwine! Golyati you`ve made my day. Oh my God!

  69. #96 and #98 (Luapula Fish), if you are going to have your children go through education then you are a hypocrite. Just because Korea developed with low levels of literacy does mean we should stop getting further education.

    Quote:

Let the government officers identify our needs and decide the economical path to take .

    end quote.

You want uneducated people to to decide the economical path?

And whats makes you think on-line MBAs are unchallenging? Try the one offered by Liverpool University. I guess you don’t even have an idea what it is like to do on-line training.

  70. Tempted to come back just for this post because of big mouthed Golyati.

#97 You have been found out Golyati. Iyokwena wamonekela we. Ha ha ha ha ha aha. Ha ha ha ha aha.

  71. Abantu Baya

Dont be offeneded coz you holding one ,but you can do better than that. I dont support online MBAs with no residential camping.

Its not bad to be advancing our education, clearly get my point ,Education is not the solution to our economic problems.Government is spending huge sums of money to train graduates and yet the economy has almost nothing to offer them. Is that what you in support of ?

  72. Golyati please come back. Hello! Sorry I have exposed you. It was not on purpose. Please come back Golyati life is too short.

It was just a bit of banter Golyati. Please do not get back to your hole. It`s just one of those things but hope it teaches you to shut your gob next time.

    Sorry once again

  73. #106 I don’t have an on-line qualification but tell us why you don’t support MBAs without reidential camping. The fact that you are not camped at your institution of learning doesn’t make the qualification weaker.

Infact it takes more discipline to study outside campus. Many people think long distance exams are written from home without supervision, on the contrary, you have to go an Exam Center.

It would be better for one to do an on-line Degree or MBA which is better structured than sitting in class doing some outdated program. It is therefore content that matters.

  74. The reputation of online MBA programs is being tarnished somewhat by private, for-profit institutions that offer “no-residence” undergraduate and graduate degrees in business and a number of other fields. Often these for-profit schools also have open-enrollment standards that permit unqualified and marginally qualified students to be admitted. Many employers are now disillusioned with online MBA programs and in some cases refuse to pay for them if employees are enrolled.

  76. #109 Abantu baya.On line programmes are a bit suspicious these days. I do not blame countries which have reservations employing people with such qalifications especially Africans and some Asian countries.

What a start to a day for #97. Silly fish, thrown a bait and you couldn`t resist!

  77. Mean Man

Is that how you start your with your family ?
I can still understand your irritating personality but cannot embrace like your family do.

  78. n0. 33 kAINGU DID NOT CALL A PRESS CONFERENCE. n0. 41 kAINGU DOES NOT NEED TO BE EMPLOYED BUT INFACT EMPLOYS SCORES OF PEOPLE AT HIS LODGES THE MOST FAMOUS BEING KOZO LODGE ALONG THE LIVINGSTONE HIGHWAY IN CHOMA. HE IS PROBABLY SUBSTANTIAL ENOUGH TO OFFER YOU EMPLOYMENNT.
THE FACT THAT THIS STORY HAS GENERATED SO MANY COMMENTS SHOWS THAT IT IS NEWS. SOMETHING WHICH IS NOT NEWSWORTHY WOULD NOT GENERATTE SO MANY COMMENTS.

  79. #55 Mwiponta Mukabwela, that’s the way to go ma bro, am humbled by your comments. i wonder how many people uses the internet if it is to blog and insult, or if is to further their academic standard. only the sky is the limit were education is concerned. For those with the same qualification keep it up and for those who are yet to obtain let it be our challenge and look forward to obtain it. God bless u bloggers

  80. #111 and 112 (Luapula Fish and wuskile).

Whats true for on-line programmes is also true for non-online programmes. It depends on the institution offering it. Yes I agree there are a lot fake institutions with poor standards mushrooming nowadays. The advice I would anybody who wants to do long distance/online learning is: “Don’t go to unknown institutions, institutions that do not offer resident programmes and Institutions that don’t have a reputaion to protect.”

That said, let no one think education is not part of the solution to development. Keep on learning people. things change fast nowadays.

    Peace

  81. # 40 Dont expect SATA to do masters when he doent have grade 7 certificate. what type of advise is this? he must have grade 7, 9 12 and bachelors degree befor he can, probably do masters. Cant you see the sense?

  82. i have a Masters in Economics from Nottingham Trent University in England.LT thats not news lets find something serious to talk about.

  83. CONGRATS HONARABLE MINISTER KAINGU. THAT IS ENCOURAGING. YOU ARE THE PEOPLE WE NEED IN GOVERNMENT. LEARN TO KEEP QUITE IF YOU DON’T HAVE THINGS TO WRITE ON.

  84. you people LT is trying to tell that education has no age, don`t forget tht home is home no matter wht, some of you u just sweep , and looking after old people where u r ati baba kubulaya yaah so mwiponta

  85. I am sure RB does not have a complex like Chiluba. Ali soma kudala. Just like VJ has no complex. They are accomplished people in their own ways. But Ka Chiluba still carries fima Abbott kwati kaiche. Where was he when we young boys and girls were reading those books. We don’t need to carry big books to show that we read. keep them in your study ba mudala. I think na kapena fye ka mudala.

  86. Guys comment #78 is way out of line – its filthy. If you are as disgusted as I am, please click the red ‘thumbs down’ button/icon on comment on #78. This will help LT to discover and delete it.

    Thanks.

  87. Encourage political leaders as well. The govt should also be taking scanty educated leaders abroad not only when they are sick ( heart related diseases) what an educated person can forsee cannot be seen by one who is not educated. look at what Obama is doing, it is a product of education

  88. Guys ati situ ya racisim yashupa pa livingstone, your comments are needed to stop JB backpackers in livingstone. check out zambianwatchdog.com

  89. #66. Anatolla IV, great stuff. Blogging is not about making friend for me, but providing a, free, service to my Great Nation Zambia and teaching those will need some useful data that will help them in their future lives.

#64. Zedian, do not worry for I am happy you learnt something.

  90. Why should this be something in the news even. Ridiculous! Haven’t we heard of political leaders attaining this sort of qualifications before? Zambia wake up!

    Nibu fontini ubu guys! Tulo!

It’s is one thing to be learnt and another to be educated. This minister Kaingu has learnt some issues of MBA. But is he educated? Most people are not educated whether or not they have the highest circular qualification.

What? Can’t you see that the world has been plunged into a financial crisis whether or not we have learnt people in high offices?

Wake up Zambia wake up! Kaingu will be judged by what he offers the communty and not by his so called qualification of MBA. Zambia, wake up!

The small phones which have multi funtions and workwith a power supplement are PBX or switch board comfigured they have a facility for multilines with one search number and a lot of roaming numbers. If power goes of the search line remains active while all other function including roaming and memory which are powere driven go off.
I dont think your mother who cannot use a cel phone has a PBX in her house

  92. This is 60th grade MBA not recognised by any well meaning employer in Zambia, he should have done either the one from CBU or better still Herriotwat University. These are highly credible degrees. Mancosa even offer this same MBA to Diploma Holders and Grade 12’s with managerial experience even managing a Kantemba will accord u an opportunity to study at Mancosa for the MBA. tHIS DOES NOT MOVE ME IN ANY WAY.

  93. No. 37 so what have you learnt from this???? Dont just say we should learn from this coz clearly there is nothing to learn from this. He has an MBA well and good but so do 100 other people…some of who actually struggled to get an education. can this man really claim to be news worhty???? what hardship did he have to go thru what lessons can he teach us……NOTHING!!!!

where as i agree that education is important especially adult education….should it really be news that he has an MBA…Nigga please!

  94. 140 BE CAREFUL
assuming someone else’s name is called fraud, or the term you understand better forgery and rigging. I know It is anonymous UK.
My followers kindly note that the original GOLYATI is in capitals and not “golyati” in small print.

  95. The is currently load shedding and power outage at Zambian airways office at Inters-continental hotel. I challenge you to phone their number at 252686 and they will answer. The only thing they cant do is transfer to ext because the function on the PBX is power driven.

  96. There is absolutely no need for you to waste your time Chewe and also another censored name ‘Kangwa’ to focus on me for you are playing a losing battle. In Bemba, they say ‘mwasanga baleteya’ and so ‘wasanga ndeteya’.

I will continue offering expert and object free advice to Zambia and Zambians.

    Have a great day.

  97. And have you guys seen this guys Congratulatory message in todays Post from his 2 wives Iris and Angela!!!!! This guy is crazy!

  98. Free Education in Zed?, how much did this chap Hon Kaingu paid for his night school?

Viva H H man who has plans for better free Education in Zed

  99. #20, some of those names you mentions didnt get throught Education. Go back and check you facts. FTJ? Which uni? PHD, MBA are nothing if you cant even help your own blood brothers and sister. The are just papers. So the contribution to society and the nation.

  100. Number 153 Livingstone, it only costs about 12 million Kwacha per years, had he been serious about his Education he should have enrolled with CBU or Heriotwatt University were they offer quality education. Even a mare grade 12 is allowed to enrol for this Mancosa MBA.The Zed goverment or any well meaning employer does not recognise this paper. Mancoss collage is the equivallent of Chilenje trades ot Zitandizane trades. I bet the Chap does not even have a first degree or a hihgher diploma which is usually a prerequisite to enrol for a masters u can ask HH who jas a qualifications work worth wrighting home about.

  101. # 115 – Zeus, please get your facts right. Kozo Lodge (s) are not doing very well unless it’s Govt sponsored workshops, Seminars etc etc venued there. The Man did not plan properly and thought because he had a huge chunk of land and access to the Tourism Development Credit Fund he could build a Lodge on that road. When he was Min of Tourism he literally told members of the Livingstone Tourism Association to start sending tourists to his lodge in Choma. What tourist attractions would warrant one to spend a night at Kozo unless they have a breakdown with an Overland truck? Anyway word has it that he is selling the Livingstone Kozo Lodge because business has been very bad.

  102. what is mancosa college? its a use….. college and he is proudly advertising his use……… degree froma use…… college.

  103. 149 YOU ARE IRRELEVANT TO ZMABIA, ALL U DO IS ATTACK BEMBAS AND NAMES LIKE KANGWA CHILESHE. WE DONT NEED YOU EVEN ON THIS BLOG, LEAVE MY MBUYAS ALONE, WE KNOW HOW WE JOKE AND FOR EASTERNERS, WE NEED BEMBAS AND THEY NEED US.

  104. Ba Anonymous bushe finshi ba michita Ba Maestro for you to say he’s irrelevant to Zambia? We need each other whether Tonga or Bemba or Ngoni or Lozi for us to help this underdeveloped Country move on. To be honest with you I find Maestro to be an Oasis of info and the guy has been here and there. He’s a Tonga Bull but understands many Zambian tribes. All you bloggers are relevant to Zambia as your contributions matter in society because we are able to discern what quality is on this blog and does it hold hope. Omuchende Maestro kwamba buti buumi oko nkobeedde?

  105. Maestro is my man!!! His contributions are always researched and of high quality. You can tell from his contributions that the man is an intellectual. They are few that can match him. Come on Maestro you are my man

    158. your flag Anonymous, nichani iwe/imwe? I am for the Bembas and all other Zambians and yet you are trying to smear mad on me. Grow up and trace the origin of Chewe’s or Kangwa’s lamentations.

The man/woman needs keep help before we lose him for he/she is getting emotional over nothing.

    162. your flag Legend of the Falls, thanks very much. Ibuumi bulikabotu calino, munguzu zya-Leza. Cikolo buyo caminya pesi seyowedde nkaambo Mwami nkwali kujulu.

    164. your flag Chuma chiyenda, thanks for the trust.

To all of you, keep well and greetings to your families. Together, YES, we all Zambians (Tongas, Lozis, Chewe, Ngonis, Tumbukas, Toka Leyas, Mbundas, Bembas, etc) shall crown it in 2011. This will our time and the minority’s time, and surely 2011 will be our moment as a Nation and not individual 72 Zambian Tribes.

  108. Correcion to post #128

The nasty post I was referring to is #79 (Lady Tho…) and not #78. post #79 really needs the thumbs down Icon to be clicked.

    Apoogies to number 78.

  109. I think some people blogging here should understand that noone is belittling the man…he is to be congratulated for his achievement. The point is that someone getting a post-graduate qualification is not newsworthy, even though they are in govt, especially as we have so many graduates roaming the streets at home. Some people can’t see the meaning of things, just resorting to insults! Is it possible to have real discussions here without someon insulting someone else or such?

  110. 156 Legend of the Falls; Kaingu got his lodge in Choma built a longtime ago using his own money. He later expanded it using borrowed money and it is doing very well. It the place of choice for those travelling in the area and wishing to break their journey. It is certainly priced beyond truckers and therefore none stop there to spend a night. It is certainly a great investment in Choma. I do not know much about the Livingstone one but can vouch for the Choma one.

  111. I also have a graduate degree “BENG” in computer engineering from Middle Eeast Technical University. Master Degree(MSE)in computer Science and MBA from Ohio university!!

  112. Congratulations Sir. But seriously I think you should have put Zambians first instead of youself! I wonder if you have been performing your duties lately?? This clearly shows how not motivated you are in your job! Should have studied before or after being a minister…

  113. There is nothing wrong with online qualifications. As one already said, it all depends on the content of the course and besides the exams are taken in exam centres. Some universities such as University of Phoenix (USA) offer predominantly online courses with occasional residential time (summer schools). South Korea is one country that is going the online way by having a programme to install broadband in every home. They have realised that they will be unable to build brick and mortar institutions at the rate of economic and population growth. So they encourage their citizens to do online training.

  114. As we obtain all these qualifications, we must not lose sight of having to provide bread and butter to our families. What’s the point of having MBA this, MSc that if you cannot even put food on your table? It’s better to invest the money and defer your training until you have enough money to spare. That said, the more educated people the better for the country, but you must all come back to start up businesses. There is no excuse to stay abroad for more than a generation (circa 25 years).

  115. Those of you who claim to have higher qualifications than the minister, it’s not about the qualification that you have, but about what you do or achieve in life. some of the most successful business people got no qualifications. The owner of Virgin group in UK has not academic qualifications. Stop showing off!

  116. Mancosa ni chikwakwa naimwe. it has no recognition anywhere other than govt. my employers, tho parastatal, dont even recognise any qualification from mancosa in case one wants to claim retention allowance on a degree from mancosa

  117. Since When does government recognize Mancosa? As far as i know, government does not recognize a Mancosa MBA for civil servants. Most civil servants who acquired the qualification are stuck with it. This was an attempt by Mancosa to legitimize their qualification

  118. Mancosa ni chikwakwa naimwe. it has no recognition anywhere other than govt. my employers, tho parastatal, dont even recognise any qualification from mancosa in case one wants to claim retention allowance on a degree from mancosa hence u can even pass it with two or more wives

  119. It’s very sad that as a people we are always trying to bring down our friends that archieve something in life. You are denying yourselves blessings my friends. Just praise God for the Minister’s achievements and your will also come. Remember there is a God who sees everythng. Who knows maybe he prayed to God that he goes thru and you are speaking negatives? The Bible says whoever speaks negative of you …. Thank you God for blessing our Minister with and MBA. Bless me with a big qualification also!

  120. it is encouraging, it gives hope that it is not too late, am going for my masters next year. Those who do not appreciate are Kaponyas and this is what has become of PF the reason is SIMPLE!!!!!!!!!!!

  121. I thought that Zambians were amongst the most educated people in Africa, apart from Nigerians, Zimbabweans, Kenyans and Ugandans. After reading the comments above, i doubt that they are ! These malicious comments are an indication of people with a passionate hatred for education.
That Minister should have been congratulated for such a great achievement at his age. Instead, most of the people’s comments here are trying to either insult or bring down the minister or the MANCOSA college. What a shame !!

  122. Why do you try to do a bit of research on MBA? The MANCOSA MBA is far more superior than the Australian MBAs most of you have. They dont do dissertation in Aussy MBA. May try to define a college/ university. Some of are just crap. You dont even have first degrees.

  123. that is a problem of human being especiacially balcks they always have to find a faulty in someone and trying by all means to out do each other i urge you blacks to read the book entitled Capitalist Nigger may your head will sober up.materials for MBA are the same knowledge gained is the same it is up to the pseron who have aquired that knowlwdgw on how hw /she applies himself oot there. So what is your problem.

Stop the superiority complex go and work.

  124. You can see two completely different attitudes on this board. One is admiring, positive, encouraging, and impressed, while the other is negative, angry, jealous, envious, and resentful.
Personally, notwithstanding the negative jerks, I think the old man is an example of why this country, for the most part, is so great. And, I pity the rest. He is a minister and if there was another man there in his capacity, am sure he would’ ve been recongnised. Its called protocal and to some of you Jerks who dont know next time you are asked to speak somewhere and your boss hapens to be one of the invited guests and not a speaker protocal requires you to recongnise his presence.

  125. People are lazy to study and research. What they say its just rumours and hearsay. I’ve researched a lot about MBA in RSA. I’ve personally visited the business schools in RSA.
Wits, UCT, Pretoria are the easiest MBA. All their exams are open book; meaning you use your textbooks and notes to write exams. An average person can of course pass an open book exam. And the content and exams questions for all accredited MBA in RSA are relatively similar. Mancosa’s MBA exams are closed book. People, its not easy to pass Mancosa MBA. The workload is huge. This course MBA Mancosa is highly stressful. You really need lots of physical and mental stamina to cope with MBA. Register with Mancosa and see 4 yourself. I’m not trying to scare anyone. Mancosa and Unisa are popular/famous MBA in Africa.

  126. We all know that an MBA is a post-graduate degree. Irrespective of where you study your MBA, in the final analysis, employers will judge your job application based on your track record. Of course a teacher/social worker who got an MBA, will be beaten by a Chartered Accountant, Doctor, Engineer with an MBA. More than 85% of people that study for Mancosa MBA got their Undergraduate qualifications from different universities. After completing an MBA from any accredited institution in the world, you are allowed to register for Doctorate anywhere in the world. So, why do you reason a lot about minor issues, while they are a lot of fundamental issues to be addressed in Africa.

  127. Yes, i agree: Wits, UCT, Pretoria are selling their MBA. What count there is money to pay fees. Fees there are expensive, up to R220K, but its easy to pass all their open book exams.

  128. MBA in RSA is peer-reviewed and quality assured by Higher Education Committee panel of experts against international standards. This watchdog has de-registered Bond Univ from Aussie, De Montford Univ from UK and Business School Netherlands as this institutions have failed MBA assessment. But in their home countries this institutions are accredited.

  151. South African MBA is going places. Which African country can compete with SA in MBA. UCT, Wits, Stellenbosch, GIBS, Henley. This MBAs are internationally recognized and registered with the Association of MBA(AMBA) in UK. Our MBA graduates are priviledged, because most of them have Senior positions in SA corporations like Eskom, DeBeers, Anglo, BMW, Rembrent, SAB, etc. Not to mention those working overseas. The issue here, is practical management skills. As further skills acquired in MBA has to applied in a particular business/industry.

  152. One other issue issue is video games are typically serious in nature with the main focus on understanding rather than amusement. Although, we have an entertainment element to keep your sons or daughters engaged, every single game is usually designed to improve a specific group of skills or area, such as instructional math or research. Thanks for your write-up.
