PF advised to understand cause of high prices by RB Youths and Students

Share

Opposition Patriotic Front (PF) has been advised to identify and understand the root cause of the high mealie-meal prices before thinking of taking to the streets in protest.

The counsel is from Youths and Students for Rupiah Banda National Chairman Emmanuel Tembo who is also former UNZASU president.

Mr. Tembo told ZANIS in an interview that the PF should understand that the escalating mealie meal prices have not been caused by government as the whole world is
undergoing a financial crisis and Zambia, like all other countries, has not been spared.

Mr. Tembo was reacting to a statement in the press where the PF on the Copperbelt has applied to hold non-violent protests simultaneously in all towns against high mealie-meal prices, among other things.

He charged that the opposition political party is trying to gain political mileage out of an issue which government is working tirelessly to address.

He said government has assured the people of Zambia that they will look into the matter with a sense of urgency.

Mr. Tembo also urged the PF to practice within the party by subjecting the party leadership to a convention as the party has never been to a convention since its inception in 2001.

He has since urged Zambians to give full support to President Banda and his government to focus on the developmental issues for the eradication of poverty in the country.

  1. Too much of politics in zambia.Cant these students merely advise PF as young aspiring professionals instead of using RB s name.Let them observe professionalism.Zambia is for us all regardless of party affilition.ok am number 1

  2. no.1 , This Mr Tembo should understand that it is within their right to demonstrate peacefully and air their grieviances regardless of the cuase of their price. The point is it is the duty of the govt. to ensure provision of basic services to the poorest thru prudent policies. LT your title is misleading, iyt says unza students but mr tembo is former student, there is a big difference.

  3. youths and students for RB….what is this,is it an NGO or what?ka article kaliko superficial.anyway the point is that ka planned demo is somehow ill intentioned looking at the past behaviour of CB pipo over father Bwalya’s issue, peaceful demo,Hmmm! questionable!!

  4. Musenge of PF stated. “The protest marches will run simultaneously in all the Copperbelt towns and the reasons for the protests will be as follows: high mealie-meal costs; high fertiliser costs; and increments of President’s, ministers and members of parliament’s salaries.”He also said the marches were meant to protest against the retrenchments of workers on the mines (sourse post).
PF just want to fuel problems in the country so that the country is not governable. Sata when he was in government witnessed the worst form of retrenchment were thousands of people lost their jobs. why didn’t he protest then if he was concerned with peoples’ lives. His MPs including his vice voted for the bills,

  5. Is there an economic advisory team in PF? As much as we don’t apreciate high prices, does the party ever analyze these issues before they decide to take action such as a protest? It looks like whatever action Sata dreams to take goes. All Sata wants is public attention, I wish ba kampenga bakwe could see thru this.

  6. #7 cont. why doent he fire them. Sata is planning evil so that people with low analytical skill will believe that RB has failed to run the affairs of this country. he just wants to fulfill the prohecy of that 46 paged report that PF wants to creat trouble so that there can be a government of national unit where he will have a position in government. while i dont support RB i fell he should be given reasonable time to prove himself instead of creating unnecessary tension in the country. RB has just been a president for month.

  7. these students are trying to gain some favours to have there meal allowances increased.Only delusioned minds will follow blindly with the masses, they barely understand that despite of this so called global economical crisis on which failures are basing there explanations of there poor performances, zambia is also in a local economical crisis. Why is it that in other countries the price for food is not increasing at an exponential rate as in zambia. You can affiliate it to withdraw of investors during elections and bla bla stuff like that, but that does not make sense still, cause how can that affect the economy so quick, this is scarly. All you villagers that voted blindly vest yourself for roots

  8. Iwe kaka fusasa ka emmanuel, balaku folesha ubunga? the protests will make government act quickly. they already knew that the food reserves were dwindling why didn’t they import maize? in short Govt & FRA in particular are not doing their jobs hence they have to be shown our displeasure of their inertia by us citizens who don’t get free mealie meal like you, throught protest (non voilent).

  9. #5, I agree with you, Emmanuel Tembo (ET) was a progressive monko in 1996 when he was UNZASU president but this he has started hhhhmmmm!!!! 12 years after graduating he still wants to represent students????? hhhhmmmmm!!!! As for the Demos, I think they are not necessary, people should just learn to vote wisely….2011 is coming, they should demostrate in the booth. I dont think that if Sata won the situation was going to be different…maybe worse given his undiplomat tendencies towards donors.

  10. sata is running out of ideas, him and hh lost it when they failed to come to terms.whatever he tries to do now will not help him,he had better accepted the fact that RB is presido.let him plan fo 2011 if he still wants to stand.these demos will just worsen situs fo the ordinary pipo who might end up being arrested.however, that does not mean pipo’s rights shud be restricted.but on this issue,ba sata just offer solutions fo the sake of zed pipo not necessarily fo yo political rival RB.

guys ati tuma results bola? data guys!

  11. Food prices are suppoesed to be stable in zambia because fuel costs, transports and cost of productions are low.We even had a good harvest.

  12. I feel sad that some people want to protect government in the name the world economy.Yes the world over things are not okay but the MMD has failed to put in place policies are will produce favourable food prices.17 YRS IN POWER AND MEALIE MEAL PRICES ARE UNCONTROLLABLE:THATS OUR STAPLE FOOD FOR CHRIST’S SAKE!!FROM MY OBVSERVATION,MEALIE MEAL,ELECTRICITY,INTERNET,PHONE SERVICE ARE PATHETIC.WHETHER U R PF OR WHATEVER MMD HAS FAILED!MAYBE HH OR EVEN SATA OR SOME PARTY WE DONT WILL SAVE ZAMBIA PERIOD!

  13. Emmanuel Tembo & Cain Mweemba have become political bootlickers. They are not their former selves when we were at UNZA. This shows what type of chaps they are trying to compromise their ealrier principles on which we believed as students back in time. SHAME really!!! Very soon, you will see these two chaps reduced to the level of dogs!

ET, you are no longer a student, so do not use UNZA student to win Munali parliamentaly seat where you were defeated. Just give what you want to do. Some of us after leaving UNZA, we can see the writing on the wall, but your eyes are failing you to do that!

  14. In 1996, we met Chiluba at State house as students over meal allowances, and the very day our allowance was increased from K54000 to K90000 by FTJ based on our fighting spirit as we never entertained even a Minister of Education to address us, but now seeing Emmanuel Tembo issuing such statements is really going backwards and a SAD reading indeed.

  15. #20,thumbs up i was there too in 1996 as a matusa,i remember from camp to ministry of education where the minister or his deputy feared to address us and then straight we went to state hse, those wete days with a man called zesco who is now in police force. This ET is a typical “kojo comes to campass”, the story he never understood the theme. When we voted him as UNZASU presido,he was a sobre and a man with the fire at heart, now speaking like this makes our hearts melt, hahahahahaha chalo ichi “a Tembo ni chani chavuta”,is it money or what my former presido?

  16. Before the GLOBAL ECONOMIC CRISIS,the food prices world over were at all time high so the crisis just worsend things.Zambia has finished shock absorbers hence terrible impact!

And whats this we hear about PF sympathetic millers conspiracy theory????

  17. Tembo small boy you are suppose to play a watch-dog role not yapping coz you’re recieving brown envelopes. Abash such characters, shame shame!!!

  18. Emotional comments and despositions will not take us anywhere. Let us be analytical enough on issues at hand. We need to show maturity and professionalism as we contribute. It is said that small minds discuss people.

Are we falling pray to the small mind syndrome that we can only discuss people and not articulate issues? The idea of the blogg is good, but it should never be used to vent our frustrations. Friends, divergent views should be embraced even if they are at total variance to ours! Thus, we can claim that we are true analysts/ debators.

  19. You guys are wasting your time.

Trying to pump sense into the PF is like trying to domesticate a black mamba. It cannot be done.

  20. Good evening Pumpy and greetings to you all.

From the story and not exactly news, ‘The counsel is from Youths and Students for Rupiah Banda National Chairman Emmanuel Tembo who is also former UNZASU president’ has nice points to looka at.

Firstly, we have some organisation “Youths and Students for Rupiah Banda” and secondly there is “…Rupiah Banda …Emmanuel Tembo….”

Something is fishy here or has gone wrong somewhere. How do you have 1 Nyanja speaking for another Nyanja person in this manner, especially things that do not concern President Ruphiah Banda.

  21. #28 continued.
Although, I will always try not to agree with the Undereducate, since his CV seems to be a PF Party SECRET while Minister Mulongoti said that the man only reached Standard 6 and dropped out, to become Zambian President, sometimes his PF members have a so=ense to consider serious.
I am thus in full support of the Copperbelt Province peaceful protests for our Democracy has been advancing over the years. So, why not have free protests just the same way Citizens of developed democracies like the USA do it? Let PF demonstrate although the history about their behaviour leaves much to be desired. We need to have our freedom of expression exercised fully and without intimidation.

  23. #29 continued.
Actually, let us have countrywide peaceful protests so that people can realise what constitutes their VOTING RIGHTS in another dimension to keep their LEADERS in check of their promises during election campaigns.

In view of the reduction in FUEL prices across the whole world, we all expect reduced costs of commodities that have a direct impact on people’s livelihood.

Let us Zambians therefore be accorded an opportunity to protest according to our Constitutional rights.

  24. I wonder why you all waste time with all your postings when u know nothing will change. Why not shut up and get used to the same life 44 years since independence and yet all is getting worse. Nomba ku baleka chabe bale shana

  25. Politics in Africa do not make sense.

Cheers #33. The problem we have in Africa is all these people you see here are looking to becoming ministers. Zimbabwe has ministers who see no wrong in what Bob is doing. S)T)U)P)I)D) F)O)O)L)S!

  26. “Mr. Tembo also urged the PF to practice within the party by subjecting the party leadership to a convention as the party has never been to a convention since its inception in 2001.”
Is this Tembo part of PF or what? I thought his organisation has to do with Youths and Students for Ruphiah Banda.
“He has since urged Zambians to give full support to President Banda and his government to focus on the developmental issues for the eradication of poverty in the country.” I have given partial support to President Banda since he is my President and will never give full support for he does not deserve the full support. Also, the GRZ is not his (Pres. Banda’s) government, but a of Zambians.

  27. No. 28 Maestro Hhehhe…; You say about Emmanuel Tembo, “Something is fishy here or has gone wrong somewhere. How do you have 1 Nyanja speaking for another Nyanja person in this manner, especially things that do not concern President Ruphiah Banda.”
“Something is fishy here or has gone wrong somewhere. How do you have 1 Tonga speaking for another Tonga person in this manner, especially things that do not concern President Hichilema Hakainde.”
Is this not what Maestro ALWAYS DOES?

  28. #36. Maestro Alter-ego, which things are you referring to on your ” How do you have 1 Tonga speaking for another Tonga person in this manner, especially things that do not concern President Hichilema Hakainde.”
Is this not what Maestro ALWAYS DOES?”

Do PF peaceful demonstrations have a concern on President Ruphaih Banda? Does having a convention in PF have anything to do with President Ruphiah Banda? Please, #36., give answers to above questions and give quotations with sources on your accusations on me as a Tonga and president HH as another Tonga on which issues do not concern HH. I will be waiting so that I can respond favourably to your zeal!

  29. #33. Justice Kafusha
Seat down for a moment & try to assimilate what you have just said. On second thought, you will realize how misplaced your views are. If our Country is to progress, you & I together with all the people on this blog need to realize what is at stake. If you have given hope on Zambia, then you are the one to keep quite! No offense, but some of us have a heart for mother Zambia & our children. There is no place like home. Never be cheated with the money you get this side. You seem not to understand the price which was paid for the happy destiny of these folks in their respective Countries! So, let us not discourage others who want to contribute!

  30. Its times PF subjected its leadership to an election than 8 years of self appointment and iron fist hold. How do they resonate with a democratic society long converted from such sytem to a functional democracy.Unless PF is full of deadwoods with natural deficiencies to rise up to the task of democratic leadership, the this trend of shame in the 21st century should endure.I don’s see a capable party condoning 8-9 years of no electable leadership but appointments.ANC, FELERIMO, MMD, Chamachama Pindizi,SWAPO,GOP, DNC, Labor, Christian Democratic Party to mention but a few all successful democracies have evolved with democracy. Why not PF?

  31. Continued from #38. In these Countries we are staying in, some have fought so many wars to reach where they are today. By the way, slaves were not only blacks, but practised among themselves as long as one had limited resources. You are there enjoying in that Country for the price which was paid by other people.

  32. # 26 Anonymous – I now know the size of your mind by the way you react!

    Maestro Hhehhehhehhe, great articulation…

  33. #39. Easy

Even MMD has to go to a covention! They are not democratic, even during the time of Mwanawasa. Why do you think they are being ruled by outsiders? This is why Teta should shut up so that the elected people run affairs of the party! As far as am concerned the only party with elected person is UPND, but they also do it wrongly & #37. Maestro Hhehhehhehhe may agree, since three quaters of the members are from southern, but they are abit democratic! I also hope that they replace him with another man as he has not motivated the people as the great MAZOKA DID.

  34. No. 37 Maestro, Think back and reflect on your many bloggs on this site. You will surely do so again soon on this or someother topic and your Alter-ego will be right there to point it out.

  35. qui ci vuole la sincerità anche se c’è la crisi mondiali, alora bisogna pensare alle soluzione che dire tante cose, forza.

  36. Mr Tembo your gvt is not giving the mealie meal issue the urgency it deserves, they are behaving like one proverb says ” uwikwite asontelA ku kanwa” but those who are feeling it are the ” upamfiwe ewulwa ne chibi” THIS GVT will NOT MOVE WITHOUT PEOPLE FORCING IT TO THAT’S UNFOTUNATELY HOW THINGS ARE ACCOMPLISHED IN ZXAMBIA YOU EITHER STRIKE, GO SLOW OR DEMONSTRATE. NOTHING STRAGE!! AND BY THE WAY IAM NOT SURE ANY PARTY HAS been TO THE CONVETION SINCE 2001, MMD HAS NOW ADOPTED THE CHOOSING OF PRESIDENTIAL CANDITES THROUGH THE NEC ” OF 50 MEMBERS”, HH HAS NEVER BEEN TO A CONVENTION BUT HAND PICKED ON TRIBAL LINES. IN SHORT ZED IS DRIFTING AWAY FROM DEMOCRACY, VERY DANGEROUS TREND.

  37. #43. Geologist, Canada; impressive stuff, but I am coming for I have to sort the overzealous 36. Maestro Alter-ego first.

  38. #44. Maestro Alter-ego, you wrote “No. 37 Maestro, Think back and reflect on your many bloggs on this site. You will surely do so again soon on this or someother topic and your Alter-ego will be right there to point it out” and I now tell you that you seem not to be sure of what you are upto.I asked your to do a simple thing for me in my posting on #37.Maestro Hhehhehhehhe to provide me with details from quotations and their Sources, but now you are jumping aroung like a headless chicken. Can you please do what I have asked for instead of shamefully exposing ignorance on your a s s e r t i o n s for your comments do not even warranty u my response save to ask u 2b more composed. Im waiting.

  39. #48. Maestro Hhehhehhehhe

We need to change things and not dwell on petty issues! I call a spade a spade. If things have to improve in Zambia, political differences should be put aside and see the good of the Country. The Presidency is bigger than a single person, since a person can be replaced, but not the Presidency. Therefore, let us open our minds to critical thinking so that other peoples views can be analysed and then make meaningful comments. Your Job should also to advise the other colleagues not to baised when it comes to outlinning the good for the people. You and I a blessed for having been to school, so let us use our knowledge. Later as I am going to buy some things.

  40. #46. namweleu, spare us well-informed Zambians with such TRIBALISM on president HH with your:
“BY THE WAY IAM NOT SURE ANY PARTY HAS been TO THE CONVETION SINCE 2001, MMD HAS NOW ADOPTED THE CHOOSING OF PRESIDENTIAL CANDITES THROUGH THE NEC ” OF 50 MEMBERS”, HH HAS NEVER BEEN TO A CONVENTION BUT HAND PICKED ON TRIBAL LINES.”
President HH was elected by UPND Superdelegates from all 9 Provinces of Zambia in 2006. The UPND presidency was contested by three candidates the then acting president Sakwiba Sikota, financial stealth UPND supporter Hakainde Hichilema and some South African business Tonga man who might have been call Mweemba – I can’t remember his name properly now. HH won.

  41. #49. Maestro Hhehhehhehhe

Hahhahahhha. “Unisekesa manje ka!” Headless chicken? Iam just visualizing how a chicken whose head has been cut behaves, ranning in all directions!

  42. No. 49 Maestro; I will give you sometime to cool off and do some quiet reflection on your own. Perhaps you could even go back into the archives of your blogs. Believe me, your alter-ego is always a good guide to your inner self and sub conscious.

  43. #50. Geologist, Canada; thanks fellow Citizen. Just to follow up on your postings:
    1. “As far as am concerned the only party with elected person is UPND, but they also do it wrongly & #37. Maestro Hhehhehhehhe may agree, since three quaters of the members are from southern, but they are abit democratic!” and I counsel that THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH 3/4 UPND coming from the SP especially where you are running away to join them. How do you expect them to have representation from your grouping if you do not join UPND and contest for positions therein. Let us not be good a pointing out things we dont understand or participate in!

  44. #52. Geologist, Canada; hhahhahhahhahha. Such a chicken has no planned direction except using its legs because they are used in making movements.

  45. The fact that people rush into mentioning the name of Sata whenever issues about PF come to the fore even when Sata is not the initiator (like in this case were Mwenya Musenga is the instigator) shows how this man causes sleepless night in a lot of peoples minds. When the lion roars in the jungle every animals stops in its tracks. Sata’s shadow over zambia is just too tall for some of you. Sata will always cause sleepless nights for who ever is at state house and that way the incumbent president will always be alert that it’s either he works or he will one day wake up under Sata’s rule. Viva PF and Viva Sata, we need someone the govt can fear not the Tembo type. Tembo must be hungry 4 bucks

  46. #53. Maestro Alter-ego, your postings fall short of sense. It is not me who has a problem with myself, Maestro Hhehhehhehhe, but you who is accusing me.

Now that you are unwilling to back up your allegations against me, I take it that your emotions overwhelmed you before you made your comments on #36. Maestro Alter-ego.

If you still stand by your litigations, please give me proof on your writings. Otherwise, this case has been closed now. This entails that I will not respond to you if you continue not providing me with proof backing your sentiments and importantly contribute to this thread accordingly.

  47. PF are troublesome parts where ever they are. The Police should not give a permit to those people wanting to demonstrate on the copperbelt, Zambia is a peace country we not comfussion in the country and lose innocent lives even destroy properties of the people. The inspector of police should enforce more police to prevent lose of lives and damage of property. The price of mealie meal should be discussed by the government and the miller. In Zambia to allow demonstration we have many people who are not mature they will start stoning vehicles and damaging other peoples’ properties, demonstrators should not be given that.

  48. #55. Maestro Hhehhehhehhe continued after a disturbance splee with #36 and concomitant #s with a censored name ‘Maestro Alter-ego’.
    2. (For #43) “I also hope that they replace him with another man as he has not motivated the people as the great MAZOKA DID” and I write that it is not “they” – in your apparent reference to the UPND – but you (43. Geologist, Canada ) if you will either chanllenge president HH at the coming UPND General A S S E M B L Y for UPND presidency or you will be part of the voting superdelegates at that would-be election voting for someone other than president HH.Without this, then your contribution will never affect the UPND’s way of doing things.Hope this helps.

  49. #50, you wrote “The Presidency is bigger than a single person, since a person can be replaced, but not the Presidency. Therefore, let us open our minds to critical thinking so that other peoples views can be analysed and then make meaningful comments. Your Job should also to advise the other colleagues not to baised when it comes to outlinning the good for the people. You and I a blessed for having been to school, so let us use our knowledge.”

This is true and welcome. I have been here supporting PF, MMD, independents like Milupi, the UPND, etc where they have all done well. This is reflected even in my above comments and so I expect well-meaning Zambians to do the same.

  50. 59. I agree with you that the immature may take advantage and start stoning vehicles or damaging property for innocent peoples. However on the other hand did you know that a precedence has been set by MMD that for your voice to be heard you need to demonstrate. Dialogue has never been in the language of MMD. You just need to look at the behaviour of Teta, Shaka, Mulongoti and Mabenga for you to understand the fibres MMD is woven from. Demostartions are a means of sending the message to a person or group of persons not willing to absorb or give an ear to ones ideas or line of thinking. It is futher a democratic right in the democracy MMD so much hypes and parrots about. Viva Demos.

  51. No. 28, 55 and 58 Maestro Hhehhe…; You say about Emmanuel Tembo, “Something is fishy here or has gone wrong somewhere. How do you have 1 Nyanja speaking for another Nyanja person in this manner, especially things that do not concern President Ruphiah Banda.” Take another look at your posting at No. 51. It did not take long for you to provide evidence of my first post. Remember that you cannot get away from your alter-ego.

  52. What is your problem with #51. THE UPND elections concern president HH. Indicate whether I am talking about HH of the UPND on the PF first ever convention that is yet to be conducted.

Your points in #63 still lack substance and are exposing your failure to coherently keep to your desired goal. Please, I do not mean to expose your failure to reason properly, but next put up your displeasure in an organised manner in relation to your accusations. Please, please, ndakomba buya, for there are even non-Zambians who read these threads on LT.

  53. #64 Maestro Alter-ego , just to assist you in your attqcks on me:
    – I am a Physicist/Astrophysicist and physicists work with proofs while astrophysicists study the outer space bodies including the UNIVERSE, GALAXIES, PLANETARY BODIES, ETC.
    – I am studying International Law and so I know how to defend myself on anything especially on my writings.
    – I have other credentials which are not worthy providing you here because they may scare some Zambians and most likey you.

So, I urge you to prepare yourself mentally, physically, emotionally, etc, as you endeavour to find a fault in me. I am however not perfect for I look up to the good LORD GOD all day long.
    Take careful care always.

  54. No. 64 Maestro Hhehhe..; You just don’t get it do you? The majority of people reading can clearly see what your alter-ego is all about.

  55. Demonstrations are welcome as long as they are carefully planned and organised in a non violent manner. It doesent have to be PF when the citizens at large are in dire need of basic commodities and job security. And Guys away from Zed lets not just condemn for the sake of. Do you really believe that without determination to fight a just cause you can get what you want? Dont think so.

  56. #66. Maestro Alter-ego, you have continue to embarrass yourself by failing to provide proof of your accusations and you think any one will take you seriously. Grow up and show substance to your claims instead of bickering shamefully as if you have nothing to do but argue just because you have freedom of using your mouth and hands to type.

Until you provide more concreate proof on your issues. I am continuing with the topic at hand.

  57. Iwe ka Emmanuel Tembo, what is your problem? Have you become the spokes person for RB or mmd?what is this RB students nonsense all about? As much as i do agree that Zambia wont be an exptional with the global crisis at hand,i also know how RB behaved during the campaigns. He instructed some millers to reduce the price of mealie meal, and that was done. But why cant RB behave the way he did now.Uli kapuba, what has the pf convention got to do with the high prices of mealie meal or demonstrations? It is not causing trouble,it has to sink into the heads of people in the government that this is a serious matter. We are a peaceful party, but we know our rights and we shall therefore never allow anyone to intimidate us. We shall have a convention and Sata wil win. That man has influence, and this plays a very significant role. The person who leads the part can either cause the part to have more follower or not.Look at Upnd today, before Mazoka died,it was a vibrant political party. But HH takes over, its a different story.

  58. STOP MAKING NOISE AND THEN LOOK AT WHAT IS HAPPENING BETWEEN BWEZANI BANDA AND MAUREEN .BUSHE ANANGENA CHOKOLO NANGU KAPENA CHILI BWANJI?YOU MEAN HE CAN NOT DANCE WITH HIS WIFE OR MAY BE SHE IS NOT FIRST LADY MATERIAL?CAREFUL.

  59. No. 65 Maestro Hhehhe…; you say, “So, I urge you to prepare yourself mentally, physically, emotionally, etc, as you endeavour to find a fault in me. I am however not perfect for I look up to the good LORD GOD all day long. Take careful care always.”
I am already in your mind and ever present as your alter-ego taking care mentally and all. In the meantime, goodnight and sweet dreams.

  60. #70. Chewe, Although I respect your posting, I personally feel that these your comments below are not true or they are somhow misplaced:
“Look at Upnd today, before Mazoka died,it was a vibrant political party. But HH takes over, its a different story.”
I am sure that any good analyser of the UPND will agree with me that president HH has improved that UPND’s appeal to Zambians in Eastern, Northern, Luapula and the Copperbelt Provinces more than what late Mazoka did.President HH only lost bits of Lusaka and Central Provinces due to the break up of the UPND members who joined PF when Saki left due to pride of losing the UPND presidency taking with him the Given Lubindas and late Mtongas.

  61. #72. Maestro Alter-ego, thank you for everything especially coming to terms with your shortcomings. Please, improve next time and take care. My regards to your family.

Also, take note that I will be away for about 3 weeks because I have lots of work to cover and I will be going to Germany for an Industrial visit. So, do not be surprised when you don not see comments from me:

Maestro Hhehhehhehhe; Free Ubuntu OS; 72 Tribes, 1 Nation; and lastly but not the least Mugungulu H. Mwaanga.

  62. Its not good to have former student leaders parading themselves as UNZASU officials. they are demeaning the valuse of student activism….we need to discuss issues intellectually, we should not be motivated by the thickness of the envelops….
    Sad for Zambia

  63. #73. continued.

#70. Chewe , the just ended elections are not a good measure of the reall picture on the ground regarding the UPND and president HH. Wait and see how that UPND will outperform many political parties in 2011 President and Parliamentary elections.
The just ended Presidential-elections had more to do with allowing the MMD to continue with late former President LP Mwanawasa’s mandate and hence their campaign message of Zambians allowing them to complete their governing GRZ mandate term. On the otherhand, HH and UPND had to weigh their REAL chance of taking over GRZ in 2011 and so the #s they got are useful statistics and indicators in reaching all Zambians who are voters.

  64. Hey 74, Did you say you shall be leaving for a little while, well, we shall miss you bro… you make luskatimes a powerful and intellectual forum.

May the works of your hands be contaminated with success till you get back….

  65. As for HH and the UPND, its not easy than we think, we need more than just courage, the privately owned papers did a lot of damage to that party….

I think the party needs image builders….including the Post itself,
    Its bad gentlemen,

  68. #77. Stanford Kabwata, YES, I will disappear, but I will be back in 3 weeks by God’s grace who gives us life and sustains it if He sees this fit.

Takecare and keep well too. Thank you for everything too especially your best wishes contained in “May the works of your hands be contaminated with success till you get back…

  69. 82. Maestro Hhehhehhehh hope you are not heading to Nigeria.Hachilongwe you are a Zambian asset and dont mind minors like…… but care about dem.

  70. #83. Choma1, thanks for everything and I a s s u r e you, hachilongwe, that I am not heading to Nigeria. I will do my best to keep to your advice.

    #84,85; Amen.

  71. The uncontrollable prices of ubunga is a yet another example of the many failures of MMD which only believe in privatisations, foreign investors and trading as solutions to Zambians economic problems. This party failed to realise from 1991 that the government needed to maintain certain companies like Namboard and Contract Haulage which were extremely vital for distribution of agriculture inputs through out the country and collections of farm produce country wide. MMD destroyed all these companies and made peasant farmers to be at the mercy of brief case business men. The story goes to the rediculous sale of mines to foreigh all because of greed. MMD with or with RB should go.

  72. #87. Anonymous, thanks and take care. Until the next time, this has been:

    Mugungulu H. Mwaanga.
    Signing off!

  73. Roughly 1066 days before the 2011 elections. You and i can make a change by educating all the Zambian citizens on how powerful their vote is. Electronic count down please.

  74. We need to pray and fast for Zambia. People are hurting and suffering. There is also a need on educating the Zambian citizens on conducting peaceful demonstrations . Violence will never take a country forward. Let’s empower the Zambian citizens that peaceful mature demonstrations are what can change a nation, of course prayer is the most important.

  75. uko Ubwali isima sima ishima. Please friends Banda promised sima. all that PF is doing is checks and balances something a normal functioning party should do. this is what we call opposition to oppose. full stop. Y cant RB Pika nsima lelo. according to his slogun. pf is asking where is the sima mr kaswili.

  76. No.36 Iam not Tonga nor from the south but I support hh on principle. The man is real and can develop zed. We need to stop votting names or supporting names. All those who have atleast managed to listen to this man hh will agree with me. Just accept and remove petty thoughts, be real in life and focus on the main issue here which is developing zed because if zed is poor outsiders laugh at all zambians and not a tribe no matter how big it may be. If you are able to follow, you will understand that any party which is founded and financed by one person usually divides when the owner dies. cont.

  77. As such so many people especially those who were followers of Mazoka and not upnd as a party resigned because they could not accept a young man to be on top of them. If sata dies today pf would end like upnd thats why they do not want to change presidency because that party is sata’s own vehicle. But, to be honest the man hh is real and inteligent but many just want to reduce him because of the issue of acceptance. HH believes every member of upnd should contribute if they love the party no matter how small even a K100 is enough to show commitment and not one person doing everything.Mwanawasa even admired hh’s leadership than Mazoka. The man is good and a negotiater.

  78. Emmanauel Tembo is neither a youth nor a student. It is a shame what this young man has reduced himself to. A beggar of the highest order. He had a future ahead of him had he not messed it up by chancing opportunities and misusing them.

Shame. Then there is his entourage of Kelly Salati, Guess Nyirenda and others.

  79. #20. Geologist, Canada – I was one of the six students who met the President at State House including Emmanuel Tembo and others I won’t name but then Tembo was a good man. He has since fallen from grace. Always begging for a drink, etc.

By the way, it was 60pin to 90 pin. We had already beeing given an increment from 54 to 60.

  80. Next these clowns will be demonstrating because there is too much peace in Zambia! what sort of rubbish is this? Your time would have been better served by going to the fields and helping the farmers rather than terrorizing innocent people with your demonstrations!

  81. Pf guys we do not trust you because during the last protest you stole a lot of melie meal from Indian shops, so we know even now we know these are chances of stealing for you because you were promised money in your pockets without sweat. We saw you on znbc during the last protest.

  82. Pf guys do not go for stealing again like what we saw last on znbc where you were stealing money from indian shops. We know it’s more money in your pockets without work, that was your promise from your boss.

  83. cont. so since money is not seen heeping in your pockets now it is more free melie meal in your house. You do not protest instead you go for stealing and your boss is even aware of this.

  84. Youth and students in support of RB !!! Emmanuel please what a platform to use. You could have had made a point as a lone voice ,not under the spineless NGO.

  85. ” He charged that the opposition political party is trying to gain political mileage out of an issue which government is working tirelessly to address. ”

Why does the student leader sound like an MMD cadre?

” He has since urged Zambians to give full support to President Banda and his government to focus on the developmental issues for the eradication of poverty in the country. ”

    More platitudes.

  86. #20= Geologist Canada & 96,97=Munkoyo, its true guys, ET is useless. He was a man when we went to state house. I remember we ate high quality soup at State house and thereafter we came to the ruins smiling in the minibuses FTJ ordered to take us back. Now i am sure ET is trying to bruise Sata as i remember he was told by Sata that as long as MMD was in power, he (ET) will never have a job. True to these words. ET has never been employed let alone being some alumni chairman pa UNZA. Then he stood as an MP ku munali, bamunaya bana mumbi phiri. So he is just trying to please the failures like those folowing him. Is Kelly Salati still around? the chap took long to graduate.

  87. Agreeing that the high mealie-meal prices are a result of the global financial crisis will just give the MMD govt an excuse of performing poorly in the agriculture sector. What we need to do is keep pressuring govt to deliver.Basic needs like food, clean water and shelter should not be compromised.Zambians should demonstrate against high mealie meal prices!

  88. Hi all.

PF Protests are not a solution. However, GRZ needs to map up an economic strategy to address escalating prices of essentials. Once again FRA has been proved to be a failure and the authenticity of the 2007/8 National Maize Production statistics released by MACO has been proved to be dubious. Incorrect data leads to wrong decisions. The truth is that Zambia has never had a bumper harvest since the late 80s. Silos throughout the country have been empty since that time. Shame. ET it’s nice to hear you’re alive and making Headlines after 12 years from UNZA.

  89. #103.CHE GUEVARA

Nice to meet on this blog. Do you remember ZESCO with his trade mark Overall during demonstrations? It took Kelly Salati along time, MALAYA KADEMAUNGA who even started getting meal allowance (BC as we used to call, but it was wrong because the arcrynomy stood for Bursaries Committee) when it was at K30000. He also recieved the Kaunda coupons!

  90. The main thing should be what is MMD doing about it. Yes the prices are going up but what counter measures are being taken. we just cant sit and wait until when the prices will come down. this is the point PF is driving home. sitting down and accepting this as a world wide calamity is not going to help any body, but doing something about will bring hope.So just understanding that prices are going up is not enough.

  91. My fellow youths be logical and open minded. Why are you easily deceived by those outdated cheap politicians who are just self? The economical global crisis have nothing to do with high prices since the price of fuel is going down globally. Don’t give the MMD chance to justify the poor governance in the name of economic global crisis. That shouldn’t be an excuse. All what we need is to deal with priorities such food security, Education, health and Agriculture. Can you justify the 15% salary increament of those Government officials if economic crisis has really affected Zambia? Don’t mess up my fellow youth. Everytime copper, copper, invest in Agriculture like our neighboring countries.

  92. hahaha monse muli na nzelu kansi ma zedians,ma komentes..ah i aglee with olo of you, learry honestry.but one plobrem here, why mungo cita ma lepeat vima komentes, anyway fest i tlury go to nite skull fo imploving my engrish, then i will contlibute positivery, good day gayis!

  93. ET didn’t even finish his political science degree. He was president of some NGO where he embezzled funds and was briefly detained. He is such a loser that foolish boy.In any case,i’ve never known ET to be a firebrand,he stood against that confused philosopher Mbozi for unzasu presidency.Characters like ET will be flushed out when some of us form government.ET nomba chipuba-ama hule, zookist….in short the boy is just a street adult. He talks about mining which he hardly understands. He’s a staunch Mugabe supporter, the boy is lost.Whats the connection between mealie meal prices and a PF convection.

  94. #106, Geologist Canada, yah i remember ZESCO and the shoes he left around the unza goma lakes near the entrance when those cousins of ours charged. But he has joined them and the last time i saw him, he was persuing some diploma in Law from Hone. Yah I have written ET a personal mail telling him that he should revisit his spirit of fighting for a right cause, the one he put up when we went to state house. Imagine i have never walked like that in Lusaka, from campus to state house thru Alfeyo Hambayi, kwena twali muwela late Hambayi and i think he is ashamed for not improving unza.

  95. #106, Is Malaya alive? Man Kade and late Mudolo Patrick were a messed up group with late suzyo. Ifyamba ama guys fyalipitilila

  96. IMWE BA MONK THIS NOT MEMORY LANE, IFYA MA UNZA KALE FYAPITA SO GROW UP AND MOVE ON . DONT DWELL IN THE PAST. BESDIDES THIS IS NOT THE FORUM.SO GEOLOGIST, CHE GUEVARA FIND ANOTHER SPOT BA MAKAKA

  97. No wonder youths will never develop because they fail to stand on their own. Wake up Tembo and see beyond your nose.

  98. #114, respect isuma ayi, this forum is an open forum. read what interests you and simply skip that which seems nonsensical for you coz am not using your space to post your comments. Did you go to UNZA? Chakukalipa shani?

  99. This group has no direction and is clearly a bootlickers association. You cant have a group naming itself after a person. so if RB dies then this gruop dies. you see pa zambia ama politics of appeasement are still being practised and this kills my heart. It is a pity that the educated are the ones who do even worse when they venture into politics.Look at this Tembo guy , educated but sounds like some grade 7 drop out. Awe mwe lesa forgive our politcs beause they have really let us down.

  100. IWE CHE GUEVARA #116, NO MATTER HOW YOU TRY TO JUSTIFY YOUR ACTIONS YOU ARE STILL IN THE WRONG SPACE. YOU CANT HAVE A PARTY AT A FUNERAL AND TRY AND JUSTIFY IT. THERE IS A PLACE FOR EVERYTHING.IF DOING THINGS IN CHAOTIC MANNER IS WHAT UNZA IS ALL ABOUT THEN I AM GLAD I WENT TO WITS UNIVERSITY AND RHODES UNIVERSITY.

  101. So if PF goes to convention who will qualify to attend and vote since PF has no membership cards and no members register? PF also does not have a constitution or menifesto so then what rules will be used at the convention?

  102. A Tembo please we all know about the finacial crisis which has really affectet the whole world and our country, but this does not justify the high prices of certain commodities like mealie meal.If it was petroleum yes osati unga Mbuya.we are very for the past few years Godc has blessed us (Zambia)with good rains and good bumper harvests.the problem is you pipo in the goverment you love money too much.Instead of keeping the maize for the pipo of Zed you sold to other countries like Zim and DRC.Ba Pf naimwe lets just accept the Defeat I was supporting you guys, but we lost so lets just 4get and help Rb to rule the country.2 b contd

  103. last time i checked the MMD did not have a convention to elect their president and the vice. so just pointing fingers at PF is a bit unfair.Lets give PF a chance to reorganise and hold a convention.

  104. contd
Pf as I was saying lets not incite violence mu ziko lamutendere Zambia lets just help The easterners to rule our coutry amicably.one thing you should know is easterners cant do anything concrete without the help of pipo from Luapula and Northern province.Teifyofine mwe fya ku eastern?

  105. Kwena ba Tembo, thats how much you can cheapen yourself? any way just look and learn since you never learnt anything about intergrity from unza

  106. #118, iam happy i went to UNZA and did my best. Your examples are below par in terms of comparisons. Tell me, who owns LT site and does it have rules for debate? If they had, most of the comments will not be published. What am telling you is true coz i have blogged on have your say on bbc and here you have to be a member and your comment will be subject to moderation by the owners. So before you talk too much, i advise you to read my earlier comment before you start a war of words. Besides, its not necessary to start boasting of universities i have attended after UNZA. Atleast i have paid back what GRZ did for me and am not just boasting that i went to wits or rhodes etc.

  107. #119,good observashion.Hmm!MMD cadaz will patispet and vote sata out, learry what a sekas, just joking, hahahahaha,pf die hards donnot hurt me,i will attended the conveshion also on stlictry no membership cards.prease gayz, anyone with recture notices on engrish glammer?

  108. #118, the best you can do is by pass comments that seem not to tally with your thinking, i bet thats how progressive bloggers do. Public and open air blogs are like insaka where all sorts of stories arise. Remember this is public domain and anyone who has access can post anything but not insults as i know LT is doing its best to filter off some valgur langauge. What are you still doing in Sounth Africa, doing a phd in some mining related field. I know you bwana.

  109. ET is very rite,THESE ARE THE LAST KICKS OF A DYING PF,HIS MP’S ARE ALL AGAINST HIM.THE MAN IS FINISHED SHOULD THEY GO FOR CONVENTION.ET IS A FIGHTER,GREATNESS IS HIS PORTION!I NULLIFY ANY NEGATIVE WORDS SPOKEN AGAINST HIM IN JESUS NAME,AMEN!

  110. # 124 THE FACT THAT THEY ARE NO RULES ON DEBATE DOES NOT MEAN YOU CAN JUST WRITE YOUR LOVE STORIES AS YOU PLEASE.THAT IS WHY THERE IS A HEADING SO THAT WE ARE GUIDED ON HOW WE DEBATE.ONCE AGAIN DONT TRY AND JUSTIFY YOUR ACTIONS. YOU KNOW THAT THIS IS NOT THE FORUM FOR UNZA LOVE STORIES PERIOD.IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT IF EVERYONE IS WRITING NONSENSE YOU SHOULD ALSO FOLLOW SUITE. SO WHAT IF YOU BLOGGED ON BBC, THIS IS LUSAKA TIMES.

  111. #125,Yes they have rights to assembly, but do you think protesting will help them solve this problem. In our goverment there are pipo who are stiff-necked.they wont even be alarmed by the protest, and at the end of the day only poor fellowers will be affected.Don’t you think so Boyi?

  112. PF convention as the party has never been to a convention since its inception in 2001.
PF leader(SATA) do not be a dictator, please accept the will of the people by going for the convention. Why are you scared of your own shadow?
As long as the so called PF RABELLS are not embraced, the party will be on the rocks.
    Fresh mandate,PF convention.

  113. # 127, Mr Che Guevara, Lusaka times has a spot where you can post your feature or story, then we can all contribute if it is of interest. I think what Mr Homo Habilis is saying is your UNZA stories would make a good read if they were posted on spot for UNZA life.Mr Homohabilis, try and not be confrontational when trying to drive a point.

  114. Mudala, 130, let them go ahead, if it works or not at least they did something. Look at the million man march in the US, it never achieved much but something was done about something. If something is within your rights go for it

  115. It’s time those guys entrusted with the government of this nation own up to the fact that the issue of mealie meal should never be equated to the credit crunch because, truth be told, we boasted of a bumber harvest a fact that means we have enough maize stocks. In light of this, the full meaning of mass harvest is diluted by the fact that prices of mealie meal are going up. This defeats the all purpose of logical reasoning. When we have enough maize, we expect the prices to be either stable or better still go down. Unless someone has not been telling the truth. It is the truth that we want to hear, not politics of appeasement that forgoes logical reasoning and ignores reality.

  116. Embrace,PF and family values(Matero M.P),Sata stop washing dirty linen in public.Talk to your niece(Sinyangwe M.P)than merely to be reading in the Post Newspaper.Sata you can not unite Zambia, you have faied to handle PF rabels and conventions.

  117. #19, Geologist, Canada
My name was not mentioned in the story line, but you decided to drag me in; likenning me to a dog! As a matter of principle I only talk when Iam talked to.
Firstly any person of average intelligency will understand that this planned PF demo over mealie meal price as a main cause is only a smoke-screen for the real issue haunting them; loss of last elections.PF agents at each polling station SIGNED the results sheet;which they are now petioning and want recount!!!
I was best student at Ngangula, Monze, DK and CBU whilst at BBZ I was rated an ‘A’ performer.
My bro, everything said and done, MMD is the best on the scene. Let us put our heads togather and advise GRZ.

  118. pa zed zoona, life never changes it is excuse after excuse. This economic crunch has nothing to do with ubunga. if anything mealie meal should be getting cheaper since the trend is for commodities to come down

  119. Anyone who suffers from diarrhoea of the mouth and constipation of the brain is very difficult to reason with. What PF and sata need is a medical doctor to heal them of these painful conditions

  120. Good morning, Br.Maestro hhehe. I so much love your atticulation, you always still to points and you always prove to a point every time you drop in, KINDLY KEEP IT UP.

  121. Just a correction che guevara.Modolo’s full names where wedson mudolo(MHSRIP),not Patrick Mudolo. If people wanna talk about their UNZA days, let them do it.You also tell us about your Lusaka trades days.ET is not addressing the issue in a balanced manner. Why doesn’t he acknowledge that under the current constitution PF has the right to assembly.Besides,RB is president even of PF members who have a right to be heard by their republican president RB.Ba ET mostly doesn’t even know what it feels like to buy a bag of mealie meal.Economic vultures like ET bapulafye ubwali. When did ET start supporting MMD.His support for RB is tribal.

  122. Caine Mweemba, mukule ba daala.Tell us what you achieved as cobusu president and also what you would like to see at CBU that would make it a world reknowned university. As an A performer at BBZ,tell us what that translated into for you as an individual? How far did you go in BBZ corporate ladder?

  123. You characters living in other people’s countries stop criticising what you do not understand. ET is right if PF cannot accept elections results, let them reorganise themselves thru a convention. Most of you guys are mere economic refugess who are cowards trying to survive on other countries’ sweat. Come home and develop your country. ET mwana go on with the good work, the fire in you, will never diminish, as I know you, you are man of destiny. For your information ET is running a very successful business, and we admire him a lot. RB continue ruling us Bemba’s we are too much of thieves. We almost depleted the national coffers under Chiluba and when Sata was Minister without Portfolio

  124. Caine “Bungwe” Mweeba your achievements are meaningless to us, keep them to yourself. You can’t even see that MMD fails to project future problems then you come in the open and tell us that they are the best. Tata ba Bungwe if MMD is the best why didn’t it talk about its achievements during campaigns; top on the list was giving mealie meal and sugar, lying that FRA had enough stocks, that problems at ZESCO had been solved, buying voter’s cards. We see these things!!! SO JUST CHAT UP AND STOP WASTING OUR TIME. YOU CORRUPT, UNPRINCIPLED MAN… Time will catch up with all you corrupt people.

  125. What has gone wrong with ET??You are becoming a cadre now instead of an Intellectual?? Can you go back to the drwaing board??

  126. # 146 YOU WILL BE SURPRISED TO FIND OUT THAT THE PIPO OUT OF THE COUNTRY UNDERSTAND MORE THAN YOU DO. THE FACT THAT YOU ARE IN ZAMBIA DONT MAKE YOU MORE ZAMBIAN THAN I AM.YOU SEEM TO BE TEMBO’S DEPUTY,HOPING TO GET A POSTING IN GOVT. WHAT SUCCESFUL BUSINESS ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? RUNNING A BOUTIQUE IS NOT BUSINESS TO SING ABOUT.

  127. tula twabane # 146 life is dynamic, the fact that you stayed in Zambia does not mean you are contributing to the development of the country.I may be contributing more to development of Zambia than you are. Biblically great men have been known to have left the homeland and come back greater.

  128. #145,Tonga Bull( hope not Tonga Mbuzi/Mpongo like HH) As a student leader at CBU fought the one party UNIP dictatorship, was infact the only student not pardoned by the famous 1990 KK amnesty; had to fight in the high court and got reinstated. As COBUSU pres, moved bursary from 3pin to 9pin to 15pin to 30pin to 45pin and introduced book & project allowance within two years. No student was sent away for lack of bursary; fought.CBU graduates who go overseas to persue post graduate progs graduate with flying colours.BBZ corporate world, at B5 senior management, earned a salary more than that of GRZ Pres; has thus escaped poverty. MS/Mr Anonymous; said and done MMD is BEST,you are invited/welcome

  129. # 146,ET is running a succesful business, that is the biggest joke of the year, pantu ET has just been fluffing about with experimental businesses, from farming to mining to running some NGO.And your comments about Zambians abroad are misplaced and petty to say the least.Wasn’t your same ET in Namibia. It’s archaic for you to classify bembas or any other tribe as thieves. You should tell us why KK on numerous occassions fired RB,his relative.ET is not a man of destiny, present us with facts. What has ET achieved apart from walking the streets of Lusaka. He lost in Munali. The guy he beat as unzasu presido was mbozi,a clear underdog. That year i didn’t even vote.

  130. Mr. Bungwe buying voter’s cards is KILLING the Nation, giving mealie meal and sugar in an election is CORRUPTION of the HIGHEST degree, We want MMD’s achievements now not figures, people don’t eat figures and theories… Mr. Bungwe you are welcome…

  131. #153,Tonga Bull read Tonga Mbuzi/Mpongo
FACT: RB has NEVER been fired in his life, don’t peddle lies; now I can safely say you are a real Tonga Mpongo/Mbuzi. RE-CHECK WITH YOUR SOURCES.
PF leaders should be encouraging their supporters, to go to fields and not streets, to grow more food as it is farming season now. THIS IS FARMING SEASON AND NOT DEMOSTRATION SEASON.

  132. Send PF to nusery education then primary if they can’t cope, I do not know. These morons claim to have the common man’s interest while abusing the same people they claim to representing. At the end of the day who suffers with these continous strikes, I wonder if PF ever won an election these strikes would eb thing of the past. Its zambians start owning up to themselves and take their country forward and dump these populist and selfish leader who would want uncertainity to prevail in our country. The poor suffer when investors leave a country coz of uncertainity, just look south-wards to our neighbor.

  133. uwikwite asontelela umunankwe ubuli kukamwa. so goes the bemba saying. Most of you guys are saying like this because you can afford. Ala mukomboni yalizanda.

  134. # 159, IT IS PROTESTS NOT STRIKE, BOSS YOU MUST VISIT ZAMBIA FROM TIME TO TIME AND ACQUAINT YOURSELF WITH WHATS HAPPENING. SATA’S VISION IS EXACTLY WHAT YOUR FEAR IS ALL ABOUT , INVESTORS. SATA BELIEVES IN EMPOWERING LOCAL ZAMBIANS SO THAT WE DONT HAVE FEAR OF INVESTORS LEAVING THE COUNTRY. YOU LEAVE I RSA, JUST TELL US WHO IS THE GOVT EMPOWERING IN SOUTH AFRICA? THERE YOU GO.

  135. I challege Sata first to call for a PF convention, before he makes call for demos.
Why calling other political parties to join the demos? These demos are for his political gain.
Let Sata orgainise his house(PF)in order, before….We Zambian we do not want to be used by SATA.

  136. Why do we have to dance to the tune of this Grade 4(SATA)?Let him call for the PF convention before resorting to violence or the so called demos.Iam depressed of his behaviour….

  137. Imwe guys, do think or u r bitter chats, hw can PF protest over a govt of less than 1 month. its opportunism of the worst order. Sata ws in gvt for over 20 yras, kk’s + Chiluba’s time. Apart from breading corruption & womanising what did he do? lets reason. 151, I knw not all abroad as lazy as u no.151, what r u contribtin to zed, the country educts u and u run away. Come home and face the bull. E.T. is a great man I dont knw him but he is full of natural courage. he is not out 2 please u armchair critics but do the right thing. I like ET and if u lived in Zambia “Tonga Bull”, u will realise the man is a genious yes like all great men is down to earth. There4,do not mistake him.

  138. #Ba David

We know that yesterday you were busy in the subway at Victoria station with a dry guitar asking for alms while singing “Chinchintu umwene, lekeni Sata ateke” with an oversized weathercoat. We wonder what is is that you are doing in the UK if you cant even spell “MASTURBATION”

  139. By the way you guys in the Diaspora when are you coming home? Chila bushiku ukusamfwa ama window mu fyalo fyabene!! Alangizi, stop cleaning aged pipo there come home and do some constructive wrk. We pity you.
Ba PF mwapwa ububi with your heart patient dugger smoking Presido…..

  140. Hey you guys,i said mind your language on Sata. But it seems you dont want to listen. Why do you hate Sata, that man has nothing to loose. He has a lot of property,he is just fighting for the poor.Sata is very comfortable, most of you wil never even achieve what sata has achieved with your degrees. Let xeonophobic attacks biggin even in other countries,so that most of you who are making noise can come back. You are not even considered as human beings by the whites. And then you want to be making noise against Sata.Poverty mentality is what is kiling most of you fun characters here. And some of you are even proud to be in the diaspora.kwati kwenu, form a politcal party,we see if people wil follow you like Sata.what a hell do you think you are even to open your mouths wide against Sata.

  141. Zambians, please Sata should not be telling us what to do.Sata was in Government and this is what they were doing.

Let him not resort to demos.Zambians the police will nab you in the act of demos and go and eat “NYEMBA”.Sata will be very busy with court cases to attend to.Before you join sata, think twice ……

  142. Caine Mweemba, listen, name calling and all shows lack of objectivity and clogged thinking on your part. There is no record to show that RB ever resigned from those positions he held.Tell us,why was he recalled from foreign service, how did he move from being foreign affairs minister to Namboard general manager to finally becoming governor of Lusaka district. To me the sequence of such events would only point to one obvious thing-incompetence.when the president drops you from a senior post, what does that amount to.Thats why even our beloved Sata challenged KK to come clean on RB.RB was a wako ni wako general manager at namboard-a nepotist!!!

  143. #169 what makes you think sata is the messiah for all the problems Zambia is facing.

Sata will never redeem Zambia,he was in GOVERNMENT.Do not forget and be myopic the hacking of innoccent Chawama residents, sata engined the kaponyas at Kulima tower.

    Forget about Sata….Empty promises……..

  144. Tula twabane, # 168 NOT EVERYONE ABROAD CLEANS WINDOWS JUST AS NOT EVERY ONE IN ZAMBIA IS CONTRIBUTING TO DEVELOPMENT OF ZANBIA.THERE IS NO NEED TO COME HOME IAM INTOUCH WITH MY FAMILAR VIA INTERNET,PHONES,WEBCAMS ETC,I AM INVESTING IN ZAMBIA THRU THE STOCK EXCHANGE, I AM BUILDING AND I AM EMBARKING ON A SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY PROJECT IN KABWE. SO IAM DOING MY BIT I WONDER WHAT YOU ARE DOING BESIDES PREACHING ABOUT FREE EDUCATION GIVEN TO YOU.

  145. PF and its copperbelt pipo are exagerating tension > their desperation for power & fear of job loss must be condemed. to lose job is not end of life>>try farming but definetely not resort to selling sweets on the streets as.

  146. any such demos will result inot violence therefore ,police MUST never allow these kaponyas chance infact cage them accordingly with their smoke chimney leader.

  147. #176
Sata is not the Republic president, but a president of PF.You only have one Republic pressident at a time.Give RB time to settle and work.Let us give credit were it is due.
So Sata has no mandate……Politics is about numbers.Majority vote.Sata has been rejected by Zambian, let him have the patience of Jacob and wait for 2011 or what he(SATA)proposed to have elections in 2013,out of what the constitution says.

  148. Iwe tula twabane, there you go with your emotive utterances, you are describing ET based on your heart and not your mind.We know ET and by the way,i came to vote on the 30/10/2008.You cannot school us about being Zambian.Your MMD closed all companies in the name of privatisation.where did you expect us to work with our degrees.we couldn’t sit and be cry babies.we hit the road and here we are even begining to have equity in some companies back home.ET’s analyses and comments lack depth.most of you chaps if anything are youths who think using your stomachs.

  149. Homohabilis 175, For sure you are homohabilis undevelped sub-human, where in kabwe are u doing anything? What social respons. are u undertaking dont be carried away with terminology u dont understand. U r living a borrowed lavish life in a foreign country and mislead your relatives u r doing well. U r the puipo exporting AIDS to zambia. For your advise, live a humble life and save a lot of money coz one day you will be back. I have built 10 houses in Kalingalinga and about to finish another in Mansa, not to talk about the number of youths I have employed at my farms and other business. Anyway the space is niot enough for the list…

  150. Tonga Bull you are a coward, MMD under Levy and RB have opened all companies which were closed under FTJ, and infact many new ones hav also opened. new mines, farms, processing plants. Then what are you waiting for come back. If u truly came to vote which I doubt you wud have known that things have changed, I know u r a Pf or Chamachakomboka’s party member. To me E.T. is now mature even for republican President as he is humble, focused, courageous and extremely intelligent. He is a young man who has bn exposed to many environments and he is capable of any national leadership. Watch the sapce….

  151. #182,tula twabane, you are a very negative dude and your analyses is personal and confrontational.AIDS is global. You telling homoabilis to be humble yet you sound so arrogant.Listen,i get a feeling, you lived outside the country before and gave your relatives impressions. Now you back in Zed and got issues.I mean people like norman mbazima,CEO,anglo platinum, the biggest platinum firm globally is a Zambian and doing very well.My man,you got some serious inferiority complex.Personally,i got no apologies to make for working outside. Some of you are just bloody twits!!!

  152. Tula twabane,i aint no coward, you are one hell of a timid sad fella.List the companies that mwanawasa re-opened.I can give you an example of zambia Airways, its still closed, mind you i aint talking about Zambian airways.if you really are informed,Ndola copper refinery is still closed, now even bwana mkubwa is almost closing.I am a PF supporter and i aint apologetic about it.I came to vote and am in zambia often.Lusaka/joburg distance is same as joburg/capetown,so lusaka nipalukunku.Stop being doooof!!

  153. #172, Tonga Bull
You say name calling shows lack of objectivity; at #184 you called some people ‘bloody twits.’ This is being double tongued. You call yourself a Tonga Bull; I only modified your name a little bit to read Tonga Mbuzi/mpongo coz a real Tonga Bull as the name(Bull) implies would provide better debate, according to me.
Back to business, AISHA, THE BASIC LAW IS THAT HE WHO ALLEGES MUST PROOVE. One can not be minister forever and ever.RB HAS NEVER BEEN FIRD.
I feel sad when topic is lost in non issues.
LET US GROW MORE FOOD TO AVOID HIGHER PRICES, ITS FARMING SEASON.

  154. TULA TWABANE, YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW MUCH PROGRESS I AM MAKING BOTH IN ZAMBIA AND SOUTH AFRICA.WHO DO YOU THINK IS RUNNING THE YOUTH COMPUTER SOCIETY IN KABWE? GO VISIT THIS PROJECT THEN COME BACK AND SAY WHAT YOU WILL SEE. I AM NOT LIVING A BORROWED LIFE I AM A SOUTH AFRICAN CITIZEN WHICH MAKES THIS PLACE MY SECOND HOME.IF YOU HAVE EMPOLYED SOME YOUTHS THEN YOU ARE DOING A GOOD JOB, BUT DONT DOWN LOOK ON OTHERS WE ARE DOING WELL ACCORDING TO OUR STANDARDS. CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR HOUSE IN KALINGALINGA. I THINK YOUR CONGRATULATIONS FOR ME FROM YOU WOULD BE IN ORDER FOR MY HOUSE IN DAINFERN,

  155. Caine Mweemba, another basic law is that you cannot be judge in your own court. So far,no blogger has had an issue with my line of debate.Yes,tula twabane made his own comments about me but it was not about my manner of debate.I will continue being called tonga bull.
True,we need more food however, lets put in mitigative measures this time around and save more crop as am made to be the floods will hit us again.

  156. #169, ba chewe, yes most of us will never achieve the riches that sata has achieved because we have never had the chance to deposit billions of state funds into our personal accounts in the name of building merzaf flats. We’ve also never had the opportunity to allocate half of all council houses in lusaka to our relatives. Lets stop worshiping theft; especially theft of public money by leaders.

  157. Why are pipo on this site always advocating for a divide between pipo?? Its always rural Vs urban voters, bemba Vs tonga, mmd carders
Vs pf carders, kaponyas Vs the elite; and now its zambians-in-zambia Vs Zambians-in-the-Diaspora! When are we going to realise that this shallow type of thinking is what renders us an un-developing country? Think of all the time you spend discrediting your friend simply because he is different from you and imagine how much you would contribute to the development of zambia if you directed all that time and energy to move positive thinking. We need more analytical minds on this site

  158. #188, Tonga Bull
Suppose I said you Tonga Bull you a womanizer, proove yourself otherwise. This would be very unfair to you and people arround you.The first I should do b4 making wild allegations is to provide evidence; say a photos of you and women naked or something like it.
We should avoid being like Mr Sata who calls people criminals without providing any proof whatsoever! This is the point. I expect you to withdraw the false allegations you made against RB, whether you like him or not.RB is a nice gentleman man by the way, have known him for close to 20yrs.Good point on mitigation measures.Ask Mr Sata to tell his supporters to grow more food insteady of demostrating smulteneuosly.

  159. #190, Sarah
Excellent; from now on you are my friend. People should hide behind tribe and other differences to further their political wishful aspirations. EG Mr Sata and HH; as the results of last elections proove.

  160. #193 corrected…#190, Sarah
“Excellent; from now on you are my friend. People should NOT hide behind tribe and other differences to further their political wishful aspirations. EG Mr Sata and HH; as the results of last elections proove”.

  161. #192 Caine, are you really the same person who was COBUSU presido? I am in doubt you know! Your level of reasoning and the manner in which you are presenting your ‘points’ leaves much to be desired! May be it explains why CBU is in such a mess, you may have destroyed the little foundation there was by the time you left the institution!

  162. TEMBO IS A VISIONARY GUY,HE’S FOCUSED AND PRESIDO MATERIAL.THIS YOUNG MAN KNOWS WHAT HE’S TALKING ABOUT.HE’S GAT FACTS AT HIS FINGER TIPS,HE’S A YOUNG MAN OF SUBSTANCE PERIOD!

  163. Caine Mweemba your reasoning is really questionable. What is RB’s record for Zambia as a Nation, just point at one thing he has done for Zambia. Your reasoning clearly shows that you like RB as a person who is very close to you. Don’t force us to accept that he is a performer…. He is NOT, get it in your head

  164. #195, Wanzelu(supposedly)
Check the institutional ratings, CBU is on top. I was one of the first students at CBU laying the good foundation you are talking about.
I just tried to use an example which the Tonga Bull might easly understand(that ofcourse might have lowered the debate.)
Are you not the one who wants me to be like Joe Kalusa in supporting UPND? No my friend; Iam MMD founding member; infact you are invited and indeed welcome, Kalusa included, tell him.
We keep urging the PF/UPND supporters to concentrate on growing more food and ignore calls for demostrations; its farming season dear.

  165. #198, Anonymous
RB has declared education as the cornerstone of the government programmes. My bro/sis thru education you are able to defeat the viscious circle of poverty, hunger, diseases and ignorance; viz you are hungry bcoz you are poor, you are poor bcoz you hungry, you hungry bcoz you are ignorant, you are ignorant bcoz you are…. the viscious circle repeats itself.
There you are Comrade Anonymous, 1 fundamental thing that RB has done for Zambia. You are very welcome by the way.
