Former Zambia Air Force Commander, Christopher Singogo, has again been jailed for five years with hard labour for abuse of authority of office by the Lusaka magistrate court.
Lieutenant General Singogo was early this year sentenced to six years imprisonment with hard labour on two counts of charges of theft by public servant and abuse of authority of office.
He however appealed against the sentence and is currently on bail.
In another case, general Singogo has been convicted for giving Nassim Cleaning Services a contract for cleaning services at the Zambia Air Force.
General Singogo was one of the directors of Nassim Cleaning Services.
Magistrate, Aridah Chuulu, sent general Singogo to prison on Thursday after hearing submissions from both the prosecution and defence teams.
The Magistrate said while it is difficult to punish a person of his status, general Singogo should have known the consequences of his actions.
In mitigation, defence lawyers urged the court to consider the service that the former air commander rendered to the nation.
They also said the defence team will appeal against both the conviction and sentence.
Good, no hard feelings
You Singogo, you don’t know where Eric Silwamba lives. He will sort out your mess
Monkey in charge that buttock.
Every deed has got consquences, its jst that almost all the defence force commanders hav got issues, after succeeding mr kayumba..he shld hav learnt a lesson,bt since he was in a rush to make his pocket comfortable, this is wat he get’s nw.my advice to the current ZAF commander is that,he shld learn frm this case and put things ryt,he shld nt be found wanting or else he will be sentenced as well.
I thought we read the same headline some time ago last year? How many times are they going to jail him?
Nine Chale ,
Naine, I thought of the same.. but I believe this Air force Commander is a serial offender. He has to pay for all his silly offences and waylaid ideas…
This Air Force Commander is no good example of a Commander !!!!!
Ala Nine Chale ,
Sorry to way- lay from the topic.
the fires are still raging this part of the world.
Was telling hubby this is Soddom and Gomorrah!!!!!!
Life sucks at times!!!
why is it that almost all the defence chiefs hav got issues of abuse of office..Mr singogo having succeeded Mr kayumba, shld nt hav found him self in such a mess.nw he has to save his sentence, and this is really embarassing to hav our defence chief’s goin to jail for the same problem..wats wrong with these people.
Kayumba Sunday is awaiting the sentence ( he is not sande i know him very well) what are they waiting for? am sure he is as clever as Ba Chiluba and Kabwe
Then it will be Nchito and his brother.
This chappie did not serve the nation, the nation served him so its pay back time.
The worst part about the moral of stories like these is that everybody is doing stuff like this, albeit at different levels, but only a few are getting caught. How many people are beneficiaries of nepotism and corruption. Wether directly or not, many of us are embroiled in dirty goings on like that.
Impressive, but too bad for the general Singogo. Wishing your well as you serve the Nation with hard labour in Jail.
one can run but cant hide. once a thief always a thief. history repeats itself so he will go in jail en den later will be bailed. at least judges are getting something in these hard times.
No pressure kukakwafye bakamba mukafuma lesa ngapala
how many times are they going to jail this guy!!!!!!!
Why are they not putting kafupi behind bars as well.
Kafupi alichenjela sana . We are waiting and waiting for his case to see its day..

LET JUSTICE PREVAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE MAN HAS A LOT TO BE JAILED FOR!
SEXUAL ABUSE STILL PENDING
HE MIGHT BE JAILED AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HOPE HE WON THAT SEX CASE !
Yah too tough a time for the General, only prayer will save him, hope the Chief Shu Shu and Kafupi will be served.
Meant “saved”
How many times do they jail a person in Zambia kanshi???
It’s only Singogo and Richard Sakala who are prone to jailing
OK
So nomba, Singogo is on bail for 2 offences and this is a third one??? Kanshi he is a serial offender… let the law take its course..
though pa Zedi it will be at ‘ SNAILS PACE’
Sad news, how about chiluba and his minions, are they untachable? singongo’s case just started a few years ago but they have passed the judgement but chiluba and his co-accused thieves are still living life at full. interesting!
Iye bashi Kapesa uluse…anyway, what goes around comes back around. In life, one should always face the consequences of their actions!
Remember, its easy to cricise. If the lord came today, how many of all critics would be without
a sin no matter how small.May be the General is blessed as he will pay for his sins now
and repent.Pray for all to be free from all sorts of sins.
For sure everything has got its own time thats reality now.
For sure everything has got its own time thats reality now.
no one is above is above the rule of law. he screwed ma & he thinks he would get away with it? boza mwana. let him rot.
He shud be jailed for 12years inclusive of the SEX scandal with some Kademaunga his secretary. Mu office sex,ni offense
Were you there iwe?
all former army, air force and zns commanders, generals are attending court cases execept one. How clean is this free man?
So nganiwe ule settinga ba Ronnie ka ?
Status should not be a reason not to punish someone as severely as they should be in order to deter others of similar standing. In fact, he should have been given a stiffer penalty precisely because of his status. People in positions of power and influence should learn that they are put in those positions to safeguard the resources of this nation for the poor, not to line their pockets!!
Number 16, i am wondering as well. Ba Gladys is also at home ka!
What????, Gladys Nyirongo is a home?Doing what?? sleeping pa comrfy bed??.
Ba L.T showed us her pic. going in.. was that just for show??
Kanshi takwakabe accountability na transparency pa Zedi..
Its true she is at home getting the usual bone !
Yes all the criminals are home. They are sentenced today, tomorrow they are home. Its seems there two laws in zambia running parallel. One for the poor and the other for rich. When poor people are sentenced they start serving immediately and their appeals are just thrown out because no one has time to listen to them.
Nga tawasunga po ama starter, kuingila bakamba !
How did she manage to do that? Bail after judgement?
Serves you right soldier.
..too bad for the Generals, but i think its a gimmik, they are trying to create a team for Kafupi so that by the time hes thrown into jail, he will find comrades to familiarize himself with.
….but again,am afraid for our own Generals, one of them might end up stealing a ndeke ka! these chaps are rempant!!
so he must be guilty …….. he had too much pride ……..before a down fall there is pride honey that ,s what happens …………mwaya australia the whole family where di u get that money iwe general iwe…………..and your children where boostful for nothing ,……………

ala that is how life is………… so what next iwe general sex scandel?…………..noluse lwapwa mwe first ati generator now ati cleaning business so what next
This time throw away the key.
Can some1 tell me Where is Vera plse???
The justice system pa Zed leaves much to be desired. A guy who stole a loaf of bread in 2000 has just been released but look at how easy a sentence an ‘upstanding’ person gets. and what is even sadder is like the other prominent jailed offenders we will be quietly meeting this one at filling stations and doing everyday things.
just because u have the opportunity to publish a comment it does not make it rt for u to judge anyone. U must remember that all of the negative comments must come to GOD and then a determination shall be made by him. And remeber not everyone is guilty because man say so. Some things is just for a personal gain to others. May God Bless and remember only GOD can judge Us the people
