17. But another would say that a covenant has two parties who must keep it. Yes, that is true. God is one of the parties and you are the other. But you will never ever keep that side of the covenant no matter how hard you try. That is where Jesus comes in as your representative. You give Him your proxy. He sits on your side.       First, I should like to correct the notion that ‘there is strong scientific evidence that the earth has been in existence over millions yrs CONTRARY to the bible.’ The Bible does not say how long the earth has been in existence. Bishop Usher, calculated the life span of the earth using the genealogies that are given in the Bible. The assumption was that the phrase ‘was the father of’ meant a first generation descendant but that is not what the Hebrew always implies. Jesus is son of David, but that does not mean that he was born of David’s wife. It means ‘descended from.’
      Secondly, the Bible is not a textbook of Geology or Science. God gave brains for us to work it…

      What man cannot find out by science and learning is God. That is why God had to reveal himself. He gave us brains that can work out anything scientific but that which has to do with knowing Him personally, He had to reveal Himself. It is like lovers. You as a man were created in the image of God and are spiritual. You need His revelation to know Him. A person is known by His character, desires, thoughts, words and actions.     • The earth is not 5000 years old as most deluded christians want to think it’s millions of years old. In 364 AD they were books that detailed the history of the world that were part of the biblical canon but because at the time the catholics did not understand them they banned those books from the bible. Some of these books went in detail like for example describing Nephilim, rephilim,giant reptilian creatures like behemoths and leviathons. Those books were considered heresy until this day when they make a lot of sense.     • It is science that tells us how old the earth could be, but even science has revised its facts again and again. At one time, the earth was 10 billion years old then it became 8 and now it is about 4.5 billion years. A billion years is a very long time and if you were to adjust an error by so much, you would not be taken seriously. Having said that, I am a scientist myself and everyday, I thank God for the thrill of discovering His secrets. It is like a loving daddy who has left sweets in different parts of the house for his kids to find out with the clues he lives. Lord I thank you.

    • What science can never explain is why we are here in the first place and why we die. As a Biologist I recognise that there is no reason for organisms to die at all. The basic processes of life should reproduce themselves infinitely at cell level. The Bible tells me why we are here and why we die.

    • I am sorry could not reply earlier. Went out. I pray the Father will help you. The Bible does not use colour to describe people. We have no idea what colour skin Adam or even Noah had. What is known are the sites where certain descendants of Noah settled. If we assume that all those people are still where they are today then the so called ‘black man’ would have been descended from Noah’s oldest son Ham. Ham had 4 sons (daughters are raely mentioned by the way); Cush, Mizraim, Put and Canaan. Cush’s descendants are called Ethiopians by the Greeks (not the Bible, because Ethiopian means ‘burnt face’). Mizraim has to do with Egypt/Sudan and Put with Libya/Chad.
