MMD warns HH against malicious remarks on President Banda

The ruling MMD has described as a sign of ‘political immaturity’ UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema’s continued malicious public remarks against President, Rupiah Banda.

MMD National Chairman, Michael Mabenga, said President Banda should be given time to concentrate on implementing programmes that would impact positively on people’s welfare and national development efforts.

Mr Mabenga dismissed Mr Hichilema’s assertions that President Banda is perpetuating corruption in the country.

Mr. Mabenga said President Banda’s administration has remained focused at fighting graft at all levels of society with the objective of protecting public resources from abuse.

He said in Lusaka that the recent revelations by the Anti Corruption Commission,ACC, of a K10 billion corruption scandal is a clear testimony of President Banda’s commitment to combat corruption and abuse of public resources.

He challenged the opposition leader to appreciate that the continued revelation of corrupt practices by ACC and other investigative wings of government is an indication that President Banda has taken over late President Mwanawasa’s legacy of fighting corruption.[quote]

He said government is working closely with law enforcement agencies in ensuring that corruption does not exist in the public service, and that public funds are protected.

Mr. Mabenga pointed out that law enforcement agencies among them DEC, ACC, and the Zambia Police are simply acting on the instruction of the President investigate, arrest and prosecute suspected corruption cases.

He regretted that Mr Hichilema is trying to gain political mileage out of President Banda’s positive efforts to combat corruption.

He warned that it was unreasonable for Mr Hichilema to align the President to confiscated houses in a suspected corruption case involving a ministry of health official.

Mr. Mabenga was reacting to remarks by Mr Hichilema that corruption has worsened in President Rupiah Banda’s government.

  1. That is what politics is all about–maintaining power and trying to bring down your friends…kwamana

  2. It is true, corruption has become worse in Nyama Soya’s regime. Good example is you Mabenga who is corrupt and yet RB has let you to be a person to speack against corruption. What a joke from MMD. A corrupt govnt indeed.

  3. Well, I think RB is unfairly critised. The guy has be in power for only six months. So are people saying that the K10bn that was stolen at Ministry of health was stolen in the past 6 months? Let us be realistic. People are hard to please. Jesus perfomed great miracles but he was dismissed as a fake and was killed in a cruel manner

  4. RB government don’t try to intimidate the opposition when they speak out on important national matters. This is a democracy and it’s not the UNIP type of government where people should fear government. So this bootlicking Michael Mabenga can p!ss off. If RB has done nothing wrong, I don’t see why they should be worrying, the guilty are always afraid.

  5. As in little women , x-mas won`t be x-mas without any presents, so corruption and corruption acts become so when only RB says . Tender soya meat indeed, a good feast for MMD National chair corruption .

  6. Anidabwisa party president Mabenga. Does he need to defend the president? If the president is doing his best to fight corruption, the fruit will be seen and Zambian can judge for themselves.

  7. I just dont undestand why why we dont learn. everyday you will be told how much money has been stolen. How much the DEC, Task force or what ever the agency has found. Can some one tell me how much they got for Kashiba Bulaya, from Chiluba, Chuungu, etc.

  8. HH is right. Mr Banda should worker harder to prove the contrary.
Yes Corruption is at levels that no one ever imagined it to be. Increased corruption in a government just shows that the public sector is not transparent enough.

  9. MR Micheal Mabenga and DR Katele Kalumba have three things in common,namely;
    1. Corruption
    2. MMD silent organizers and strategists
    3. African computers or juju
    4. I may be wrong………………….

  10. Zambia is for Zambians , NOT for MMD, UPND or PF .There was a threat of treason , now it is malicious attacks. Please do tell us how Zambia shall develop? After all you guys are moving skeletons

  11. Lets face facts. RB has been in power for 6 months. So has the K10bn at Ministry of health been stolen in the past 6 months ?

  12. Mr. Mabenga was reacting to remarks by Mr Hichilema that corruption has worsened in President Rupiah Banda’s government. ….. Things will continue to be worse, when people like Obama are appointing Chief Technology Officers to strength their Govt systems by implementing well advanced technology programs, RB is busy appointing cadres like Dr N Mumba and other family members as ambassadors and commissioners respectively. When they are given these priviledges to serve the nation, they feel its time to enrich themselves. Hope they’re not told to fatten their pockets during the secret held meetings at State house. We needs help from above in heaven if we are to enjoy the fruits of our blessed nation.

  13. 1. There is no moral authority to gain winning political mileage when the rumbling is from losers who have Merzafized, Avondalized, billionairelized the convention, ratchetized ministry of local Government and Health funds between Chartered Bank accounts. If extorted fortune from the ZCCM Luanshya receivership role, if cheated on the Sun Hotel sale for ownership as part of the Kleptocratic privatization years.
Other than doing usual hollow doomsday political acrobatics, its even more harder to sale to real national level voters if the ink is fresh that you landed the position as a tribal choice against democracy.
With Bob Sichinga, Patrick Chisanga, poor Lubinda, Sakwiba Sikota all forced out to sustain tribal interest, it’s hard to win nationally. If Simon Kapwepwe won against…

  14. With Bob Sichinga, Patrick Chisanga, poor Lubinda, Sakwiba Sikota all forced out to sustain tribal interest, it’s hard to win nationally. If Simon Kapwepwe won against UNIP, then this gambling will manifest a miracle win I don’t see.

  15. Winning takes building a national party with national posture first other than perpetuating a secessionist agenda sustained by own clansmen only.It becomes pratically a fallacy of reitification.

  16. If a man stands in his own way. Everything seems to be in his way. Mabenge how do you explain contempt of court and abandoning elements of the constitution by RB concerning the Siliya case. How do you explain single source rot by RB on mobile hospitals and lot others too numerous to mention. In as much as investigate, arrest and prosecute should apply to that K10 billion thief, the same should go to Siliya, why be selectibe, is it cause as HH says) only speaks of things that benefit himself and family?

  17. #13 to 15..what a long way to say if UPND are serious about winning an election on a national level, they need to get or sacrifice HH. There is just a strong tribal tag attached to HH and the circumstance in which he came to power. And strange enough he thinks he can win an election. This man has decimated the UPND and all the great brains in UPND left. HH inherited a party that was the official opposition and now it is dying a slow death like UNIP or just like Inkatha Freedom party here in SA. When the we (MMD) field a Tonga candidate in 2016, that will be the end of UPND. In MMD we don’t even lose sleep over UPND..that is just the new UNIP. PF yes, if we slack they can do a number on us, but we have eyes on the ball. RB will perform and go for 2nd term and beat Sata again in a run off.

  19. Critics won’t derail government programmes. It’ s the job of the opposition – to criticise. Mr Mabenga, you had to say something to show that you are MMD boss.

As for “He regretted that Mr Hichilema is trying to gain political mileage out of President Banda’s positive efforts to combat corruption“, why is Mabenga regretting the gaining of political mileage? This is very funny for if President RB Banda’s corruption fight is positive then president HH can not gain political mileage, but rather lose it.

  21. How do you guys sleep at night… I bet with a grin at the prospect of a million Dollars in your account huh? On the shoulders of million of poor street kids and qualified men and women seeking jobs with their only hope to ever make it is to leave the country. The japanese say a vision without action is a daydream and action without vision is a nightmare. If the president himself clearly cannot defend his action on his contracts, how is he going to advise justly later on direct a nation with a vision coupled with action. All his done and still doing are action on contracts-and that has been the country’s nightmare because they aren’t any vision in those contracts and a lot other for direction.

On “MMD National Chairman, Michael Mabenga, said President Banda should be given time to concentrate on implementing programmes that would impact positively on people’s welfare and national development efforts“, why must President RB Banda be given time to concentrate when he can choose to concentrate by ignoring the outbursts by president HH?
Please, MMD National Chairman, can you please show me that you are in control of your party instead of trying to show thinking Zambians that you are not worthy listening to or having your stuff read.

  23. Chewe the pure how are you?

Maestro hehhehhe how are you? Mabenga and your friends what is wrong with you? so you are saying that when pipo see something wrong they should keep ziiiiii ka!!!!

  24. RB has been president for only 6 months. So was the K10bn at Ministry of health stolen in 6 months? Lets be fair with RB

  25. #29 Good question? Too many people on this blog stuck in the past and sounding like a broken record. Open your eyes and move on. Give the man a chance. You just attack with your mypoic impeachment ideas. It is not going to happen. Get used to that idea and just contribute to Zambia’s development. Attack RB all you want he is your president. Only way to get rid of RB is in 2011 through an election and at the rate you are going am confident RB will see us through 2016 just in time to completely bury UPND when we field Magande

  26. MMD Bootlicker, your eyes only see one side of the coin…you cannot burn the finger that is feeding your az, so try to shut up sometimes! Your mind has been corrupt to an extent where even nosense makes sense to you.

  29. #31 You know what? We might be one sided in MMD and looking at one side of the coin, but whether you like it or not MMD is the srtongest party in Zambia at the moment and do you know why? Because we don’t really look at one side of the coin as you think. MMD has a system that does not depend on individuals. RB could be gone today and we can still dominate any election in Zambia any time. Look at other parties PF is MC UPND is HH, ULP is SAKWIBA, Heritage MIYANDA. Take these people out of these parties and see if there will be parties to talk about. Do that then come and tell me about who looks at one side. We desire true competition in Zambia, but there is just none and that is the truth. Look at UPND ..looks like MAZOKA died with the party, despite loosing Levy , we are still stronger

  30. I agree with my friend #31 … People seem to be looking at one side of the coin… also, the K10 Billion is only a frame of reference to treating people fairly in the likes of Siliya’s case, no one is saying K10 Billion was stollen under RB… It is no wonder we cannot develop, how do you acquiesce with a president who goes against the judges rule and the constitution. Clearly constituion should never be compromised and better a broken record to be a defenders of the constituion than rape the constitution without question. How do you explain firing the witnesses? How do you explain somebody bent at gagging the press? no matter how bad, if you are doing the right things people will see! How do you explain reorganising the AG’s office? The guy is a loose cannon!! Period!

  31. #34… You know what, that is not our argument. All we are talking about is what is going on, the president is in the forefront of doing deals as a chief buyer and compromising the constitution. Personally I do not care who rules as long as the elements of the constitution are not abandoned, as long as we are not defending wrong doers as being smarter than the mass crying fowl including the courts of law. Let’s not be bootlickers, let us unite as one with a common cause. Do not impose mobile hospitals on people its common sense a building has more life span. You and the president are humiliating us. A country that puts individual leaders first before the entire nation.

  32. #5 Undertaker: i did not wish to comment on this story, but i agree with you. i was perplexed when i saw hh on muvitv suggetsing that the k10billion scam was perpetrated during rb’s reign. how cheap, i thought he would note that the lodge has been in operation longer than rb’s presidency, that the acc has not yet given us the period of time when the scam was carried out but more likely during the previous government, and more importantly that this acc operation was carried out during rb’s reign and this speaks volumes about the fight against graft. hino kayi ba hh, mwatusebana.

  33. There is need to have talk therapy and conflict is avoided……..hence creation ,becomes the greatest variety show…Plot 2011 HEAD A wonder.

  34. #35 Nyangu, thank you for instilling some sense in the MMD bootlicking fella whose life is nothing but the MMD. I do not care which party rules Zambia, but i care about how they execute the duties that the electorate expect them to deliver…
It’s not that the MMD is strong but that the people of Zambia are still not able to express their votes effectively. It’s still tough for an opposition party to make in-roads because elections are never held on a level ground. The party in power has the machinery to manipulate the votes etc….Just wait for 2011, when their will be a revolution…by that time people will have realized that RB is psycho and they will boot him and you his stooges out .

  35. Maestro are you MMD or UPND, i have been following your blogs closely and you seem to be inconsistent, is your objective to try and destroy UPND by some of the tribal postings you have been posting both on Lusakatimes and Watchdog sometimes. Please if you are not UPND please stop camouflaging under that name by trying to destroy the goodwill people have towards HH by some of your negative postings . Please come out in the open. We need to know who you really are. Is your goal to destroy both UPND and PF. Please we want to know who you really are and what you stand for. This is not an attack but a challenge.

  36. Mr. Mabenga pointed out that law enforcement agencies among them DEC, ACC, and the Zambia Police are simply acting on the instruction of the President investigate, arrest and prosecute suspected corruption cases.

  37. .was the K10bn at Ministry of health stolen in 6 months?

UNDERTAKER, I sympathise with Hichilema politically floating without mature and seasoned advisors to give him mature counsel. The scum was done over 3 intensive years or diversions and ghost workers. The RB administration picked up the red flag and professionally launched covert investigations with strick policy of need to know. To get everything at hand, they transfered the unwitting culprit to another ministry while put on an active rador. This did not mean that he had any more space. He has been under rador shadowing. All importations from the UK and constructions are older than this administrations. The US has been very supportive in tracking the US based Zambian accomplicities.HH is as a failed politician is just burking

  39. #40 in your dream my friend, wake up and smell the coffee. This is not 1991. The last Election was transparent ..if you PF cadres had turned up in urban center the outcome would have been different, that is why honestly you are not worth losing sleep over. All you do is blog and attend PF rallies and when it comes to vote..zeeeee..and that is where it matters. Stopping the level playing field rubbish. MMD never stopped anybody from voting and there were agents at every polling station and results were placed outside the polling station ..and please don’t go to the next urban legend called vote rigging. spare us please

  40. You claim that. “….In MMD we don’t even lose sleep over UPND…”.
If this were true, why should you respond, let alone spend lots of money organising a press conference?

  41. Total Government reform and puting in place a new constitution is part of our answer.Sata this,Rupiah that, will not ease our buderns. As a citizen i will hope to come back to Zambia in the next 5 years come and find money to build two national laboratories for our universities.I will also come and build two national labs for our secondary school students. We do need science development like really bad and in the coming years, i will also come and try to revamp Nrdc in Lusaka and train farmers who will be able to produce more than corn and build a country’s food reserves. For me ,it is a goal, what is yours? let’s share ideas

  42. Now it is Mabenga defending RB, who is next?
One thing these people should realise is that RB is inviting these negative critisms on himself by the way he has handled the previous scandals, Dora Siliya scandal, people have lost jobs, GMO scandal, he never condemned it. The mobile clinics scandal, Its a damn good idea.

  43. #40 New Zambia, am firmly with you on you comment about Maestro, its like he is on this blog to destroy UPND by making them tribal through his comments. He makes tribal comments on people he assumes to be Northerners and in support of PF forgetting that the biggest problem Zambia has at the moment is MMD misrule.I had no hard feelings for UPND but Maestro has managed to make it clear that if ones roots are not Southern or Western they have no place in UPND.

  44. # 48, I support you with regard to Maestro, his contributions are a turn off to those of us who believe Zambia is made up of different tribes and that makes Zambia bigger than any tribe.
We have enjoyed living side by side regardless of tribal differences and political affiliations.
Maestro is something and I expect an educated person to be sensetive on comments that are not good to our country. As they say you can take a villager to town but still he will remain a villager. Maestro is always out of touch of reality and If Zambia can produce six of them and rule the country, it can be jobs for your tribal mates resulting in divisions, tension and possibly unrest. Maestro my friend contribute sensibly , Zambia needs your knowledge and expert in development.

  45. Thief Mabenga has no moral right to talk about corruption, just like the likes of Senior Citizen, Meastro, Bootlicker and others have no moral right to talk about democracy because they all share one problem of failure to admit and accept that we are all entitled to the right of choosing who we want to lead us, how we choose them, and how they will lead us.

The characters in government at the moment have failed us very badly. They have criminals in the leadership of their party. They have failed Directors, who under normal circumstances, would not have been allowed any leadership role in a company, let alone the country, in the first place. Sons of these same leaders are allowed to import banned substances like GMO maize into the country with and law enforcement body turned a blind…

  46. If talking about corruption is making the father of corruption Mabenga incised and HH immatuare then let be so. If Mabenga is comfortabe busting in corruption that is so rife I would encourage HH to even take it to a higher level of taking these cases to the tribunal. How else can one explain Kande, Kapitolo, Siliya, RBs son and many more cases. Time will tell ask Chiluba he is in touch with real life.

  47. in the first place. Sons of these same leaders are allowed to import banned substances like GMO maize into the country with and law enforcement body turned a blind…

Kwathukummawa, the issue of GMO maize is not unique to Zambia. Zambia is not the only country that received GMO maize from South Africa. Kenya also received GMO maize from South Africa (check NTV). With this evidence, it is clear that South Africa was the country which was wrong because it sent GMO maize to its buyers. Clearly a mistake on South Africa’s part.

  48. and others have no moral right to talk about democracy because they all share one problem of failure to admit and accept that we are all entitled to the right of choosing who we want to lead us

I find this statement to be false. First of all the MMD won the elections in 2006 and 2008. The 2008 elections where deemed free and fair by many organizations including anti corruption organizations as well as the international community. The PF had been to courts and still no evidence was found that the elections where fraudulent.

The issue is the opponents (you guys) failing to accept defeat. You still have not gotten over the fact that the MMD won the elections. The majority have chosen who they want to rule them. That is what you call democracy.

  49. and others have no moral right to talk about democracy because they all share one problem of failure to admit and accept that we are all entitled to the right of choosing who we want to lead us

  50. If you can’t beat them just join them.
In USA people were tired of Republicans, they kicked them out.Pa Zed how long show we continue complaining about MMD?,whether you like it or not they will win again in 2011

  51. #54 Free-market Economist.Elections in Zambia have never been free and fail.International organisations that monitor elections are always out of touch with the underlying or hidden activities of the MMD during elections. They sit and observe elections in one organised urban centre e.g. Lusaka Central Library on Katondo street and DEEM ELECTIONS FREE AND FAIR,you see deeming is not reality but assumption! The problem is in rural areas like Shangombo where votes are manipulated. You beneficiaries of MMD corruption want us to believe the poorest Zambians in rural areas appreciate MMD misrule.Laws on elections still favour the party in power that is why they are sworn-in,in darkness.Elections should be deemed free and fair by Zambians not a handful of foreigners on holiday!

  52. Mike is right. It seems some people do not understand politics well. Not all learned people can make good politicians and I think it`s showing here. These scummers were there even in LPM`s government despite him declaring war on corruption. It`s unfortunate HH will never rule Zambia otherwise it would have been better to see how he was going to deal with this. It`s easier when all you have to do is criticise. If anything, people should be giving credit to RB for trying to carry on the fight against corruption. I am one of those people that were sceptical about him becoming president. Well RB well done MMD.

  53. #54 Free-market Economist.Elections in Zambia have never been free and fail

OK. Do you have verifiable evidence to prove this. If so then you are withholding a great deal of information from the Zambian people. Please gather your facts immediately and go and consult a lawyer on the next course of action.

International organisations that monitor elections are always out of touch with the underlying or hidden activities of the MMD during elections. They sit and observe elections in one organised urban centre e.g. Lusaka Central Library on Katondo street and DEEM ELECTIONS FREE AND FAIR,

I take it you have worked for one of these organizations. If so then I guess will take your word for it. If not then provide sources where you gathered this information.

  54. Mabenga is not the right person to be talking about corruption. This man was found guilty on the same by the courts. And what is this about the investigative wings ‘acting’ on the president’s orders? I thought these institutions are supposed to be independent? Is the president now involved in who gets arrested and who doesnt? This is wrong. What if someone who is corrupt is close to RB? Will they wait till directed?

  55. The problem is in rural areas like Shangombo where votes are manipulated. You beneficiaries of MMD corruption want us to believe the poorest Zambians in rural areas appreciate MMD misrule.

I take it you have verifiable evidence to claim that votes are manipulated. If you do, my question is why are you keeping this information from the proper authorities. Sata would have needed this information when he went to the courts over the elections.

I take offense to you calling me an MMD beneficiary. I expect an apology immediately. The people in the rural areas vote for whoever they want to vote for. That is the whole concept of democracy. They may not appreciate the so called misrule but amongst the candidates, they go for the one they see fit to rule them.

  56. You cannot come to the conclusion that the people in the rural areas do not back the MMD govt. Do you have polls or some form of measurement we can use to come to that conclusion.

The people in the rural areas have got just as much right as you have in voting for anyone they like be it the ruling party or the opposition party.

Before you come to certain conclusions, make sure you have some form of data to back it up. If you don’t have data or some form of proof, you will be faced with the words of Shikapwasha which are PROVE IT!!!!!!.

So Mulenga in Newcastle, can you prove all the accusations you have made?? I like to deal with reality and not conspiracy theories.

Thanks and it was nice talking to you.

  57. #57 Mulenga very good points raised there. I do not agree with you on a few points like the rural bit. If you look at the trend you will find that Sata won majority of his votes along the line of rail and the Bemba speaking areas, HH his home and surrounding areas. The rest RB. The total percentage RB got was 40.09%, Sata 38.13 and HH 19.70. Why is it that MMD failed to rig in those areas that HH and Sata won? HH and Sata have shot themselves in the foot a fact which unfortunately they have failed to see because of selfishness, either from the two individuals or their hung-ons. I can not see it changing especially when you look at the vile directed at PF from UPND cadres and vice versa, and of course spiced up with the tribal rants. Come 2011 the trend will be the same though contd.

  58. #63contd. Come 2011 the trend will be the same though I have a sneaky feeling MMD will do even better. The ooposition have ripped each other apart. All this is just to the advantage of MMD who obviously have been around for some time. On the other hand, it would be a bit retrogressive to form a pact just to oust MMD. I can only see another version of MMD springing up-more like 1991-people with big egos and different goals. Not a very good answer to mother Zambia. We wasted a lot of time between 1991 and 2001 with Kafupi trying to weed out enemies and those that he thought were going to oppose his third term. With gritted teeth but sometimes you sit and say for the sake of peace, let MMD continue.

40 New Zambia and your cohorts greetings. On your “Maestro are you MMD or UPND, i have been following your blogs closely and you seem to be inconsistent, is your objective to try and destroy UPND by some of the tribal postings you have been posting both on Lusakatimes and Watchdog sometimes“, I would like to assure you that I am not a(n) MMD political party member and will never be. I hope you know what the word NEVER means. As for the UPND, I am not its member now too. However, due to its democratic principles it is possible that I may be its (UPND) member again in future(may be 2012, if I will be alive by God’s grace). I had once been a UPND member in about the early 2000s while I was a full time UNZA monko.

    65 continued.
Therefore, do not worry about my being part of a any political party in Zambia as of now.

Nevertheless, since I love my dear country Zambian and its people, I have been proposing that the Undereducate self appointed PF leader MC Sata must disband his personal PF political party and join the UPND as its cadre. This is the only way he will show that he is sorry for his past mistakes of calling it a tribal party and for insulting other people who are not Bemba by Speech or tribe. Please, can you kindly qualify your “Thief Mabenga has no moral right to talk about corruption, just like the likes of Senior Citizen, Meastro, Bootlicker and others have no moral right to talk about democracy because they all share one problem of failure to admit and accept that we are all entitled to the right of choosing who we want to lead us, how we choose them, and how they will lead us” with regard to me only so that I can nicely respond to your assertion.

  65. #63,64 3RqU,thanks for your rational explanation of the reality of Zambian politics as they stand.

  66. Greetings bloggers.

After staying away from my computer for the last three days, it feels good to be back in tune with LT. No explosive stories I that catch my attention immediately except from the usual political tug of war. I see several other familiar stories too.
I will quickly browse thru…later folks.

  67. I have done my own research and have come up with the folowing conclusion regarding Maestro’s Tonga Rhetoric in relation to UPND : Maestro for sure is not Tonga but wants to mislead people into believeing that the UPND is Tonga-Based, which in my view is not true. He must be sponsored by some Anti-UPND agencies to degrade the parties fabric. Unfortunately he has been exposed on LT coz he is a nivice in the game. Nice try boy

  70. Mugungulu, Maestro, etc, whatever you may wish to be called, my assertion that you and your like have failed to admit and accept reality hinges on your failure to analyse the performance of all parties in the 2001, 2006 and 2008 elections. Just Accept that some parties have seen their performance grow, like PF while other are seeing their popularity dwindle like the MMD and UPND. UNIP, FDD ZADECO, Heritage, etc for example are all seeing their popularity disappear. Yet you want to claim that UPND is still a party to reckon with. Yes I will agree with you if you say UPND is a party to reckon with in failure.

Similarly, in 1991, when I was in Ndola, MMD was the strongest party and won the 2001 elections by a landslide victory. But they now have to struggle with a 2% margin. Shameful.

  82. It’s funny how such people like MMD Chief Bootlicker can have the nerves to write something positive about MMD/RB. Why is it that this thing of giving the period of time the president has been in power plays such a big roll in Zambia. In developed countries, people don’t make such excuses. They vote for leaders to do their job and not to wait for 1 or 2 years before they realise that they’ve been voted for. It’s not even interesting listening to RB. One knows he’s saying things he does not even understand. On the other hand, listening to people like Obama, who know what they are talking about, understand what they are saying and know how they will implement them, without thinking about ways and means of making themselves rich, is such joy. Zambia needs such leaders . MMD Chief Sorry!

On your “Why cant you change your way of thinking ?“, I thought I have made it clear before that I do not write my opinion to please you, but use available truth, data and information with my own knowledge to provide independent opinion(s) on whatever catches my attention. So, your “I honestly find you to be stubbornly pathetic” is highly overstepping on your capabilities and freedom of expression. 100. Mugungulu, Maestro, I have just been wondering which Rocket Science you specialise in. Is it the Cuundu one or the Muzungu one? It is difficult for us grade sevens to discern some of these new Qualifications.

And by the way, I ust want to add that the first MMD cabinet under Chiluba had the Best Brains to ever be in a Cabinet. There were Professors, Consultants in various fields, Finance experts, State Counsels, Mining Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Sandhurst Graduates, you name them, they were all there. And At Plot 1, the Advisors were also all of enviable Academic and Professional excellency.

    But what did we get???

At least Kaunda tried to control theft in public office.

  101. Maestro, thanks for the greetings, as you go to Pari (Paris) remember that coercion has never worked in democracy but persuasion….

  102. With regard to political inventory and in duction of zambia , in the fairness and the truthfulness of the Zambians ,let RB ,Sata emulate KK .As for HH ,he is young let him bid favorably. Do not mud sling him ,yes he is a political under dog . Yet plants grow into what they are … true colors

  103. I like your attitude New Zambia. It’s the new generation that has to see to it that things don’t continue the way they are going. Our politicians are taking us for granted. Just because Zambia is a Christian Nation does not mean that we should just sit and see the utter ruin being done by hypocrites, people claiming to be God fearing. The problem with us Zambians/Africans is that we don’t learn from the past. It’s the same false interpretation of being Christians that make us not develop or not think properly.
If we are just going to see things happen, go to church every sunday and just pray ati Lesa akatwafwa without doing something about it, our prayers will be in vain.
It’s like asking the Lord to help you find a job – but then you are not active in actually looking for it.

  104. #107 Kwathukummawa,Man I love your comments so mature and to the point.I was out on a Mediterranean Island for a while but thanks for pumping sense into some wayward chaps on this blog who live in Political Utopia.

  105. #100 ,110 & all young Zambians eager to see transformation in Zambian,African & Third world politics, the first step is for all the citizens in Zambia,Africa and third world countries to know their civic and constitutional rights, once people understand their rights then leaders will be held accountable and systems and procedures that have been put in place will operate efficiently .Remember knowledge is power, when we look back at how Zambia and many Africans countries gained independence it came out of exposure to knowlege ,when most leaders went and studied abroad , their minds were opened up that our countries were not meant for colonialization. So we need to get out there and start educating our families, friends, relatives, churchmates, workmates etc on our civic and constitutional

  106. Corruption is everywhere dear blogger (alias withheld) who thinks its only in the 3rd world. You came out as though you perceive that all is clean in the west. Do you even know about MPs corruption allegations in England? Broaden your knowledge base, you will definately analyse issues more maturely.

  107. #115 let’s not justify our failures by small samples (isolated cases) of flaws in the developed countries . If those are the standards we should be using then we need accountability as to swhy Zambia ,most African countries and the third world countries are underdeveloped and not developed as the first world countries and there should be no excuses. By the way what are you doing in the USA if the corruption levels are just the same as Zambia , most African countries and the third world. The transformation of our country will only begin when we accept that there are serios issues that we need to tackle. Denying the issues or comparing ourselves with “other “countries ” won’t help us. God bless Zambia.

  108. #92 chichi, go to night school and learn how to spell, instead of misusing the queens language wekapubawe, just like your relative menomeno.

  109. thats just the trutha nd the chaps are worried and keep on threatening pipo…viva HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH….

  110. Please analyse the following quotation: “Mr Mabenga pointed out that law enforcement agencies among the DEC, ACC and Zambia Police are simply acting on the instruction of the president [to] investigate, arrest and prosecute suspected corruption cases.”

So these agencies can only swing into action when the president tells them to do so? So they are not independent! Are they supposed to serve the sitting president with blind loyalty, the way Chungu did it with Chiluba? Wasn’t the end result disastrous for the country?

As for … At Plot 1, the Advisors were also all of enviable Academic and Professional excellency. But what did we get???

131 continued. Equally, If your answer is NO, ask yourself why he failed to get the advice from them.

Now since the answer to my query just above is NO. The following food for thought question about WHY Mr Chiluba failed can ba answered as follows. Mr Chiluba FTJ then being an undereducated man with full control of State instruments overrode all good advice and hence whoever failed to follow in what he wanted to do was dealt with severely or maybe fired. This reduced noble men like Dr Katele Kalumba to the state of affairs they are in today. Now, do you want the Undereducate Sata MC to do similar things Mr Chiluba did and further cripple the Zambian economy?
