THE Movement for Multiparty Democracy [MMD]youths In Namwala District have supported the idea of having President Rupiah Banda as the party’s aspiring presidential candidate during the 2001 tripartite elections.

The MMD youths in Namwala also called for unity among party members for the party to fair well in 2001 elections.

Speaking in an interview today, Constituency youth Chairperson Mr Godwin Mulachi said President Banda has scored a number of successes during his short tenure in office and there was need for the country to support him during the 2011 elections.

“ As MMD youths in Namwala we want to voice our support for Mr BANDA to contest the general elections in 2011 so that he could finish the developmental projects he has already embarked on,” said Mr Mulachi.[quote]

Mr. Mulachi said people who are passing unpalatable remarks about the president need to be punished by the law. He said people should give the president the necessary support especially during this period of the financial crisis so that the country could steer ahead in economic development.

Mr. Mulachi said there was need for the party in the District to unite if desirable results could be achieved in 2011.

He noted that currently there were some squabbles among party members which urgently needed to be ironed out.

“Am in the view that if we have to do well during the 2011 elections in the District we need to put our differences aside and work for the common good of our party,” Mr Mulachi said.

He also said there was need to have an MMD representative from each of the four chiefdoms sitting on the constituency committee unlike the current situation where there were no representatives from the four chiefdoms.

  1. These youths are just a bunch of hooligans. Rooftop Barman is a transitional president and there’s nothing tangible that he has done to impress in the last 7 months apart from flights in and out of the country and camping in lodges. His leadership keeps blaming the world economic crisis for the state of the Zambian economy when others are already seeking solutions. There’s no way these crooks can continue to take Zambia backwards. So Mr Mulachi and his bandits can just forget.

  2. “… Mr Banda has scored a number of successes during his short tenure…. ” Maybe these people educate us on what the current tenant of State house has done in the 7 months he has been having free accommodation and free flights on his never ending tours , probably some of us don’t know and we might just start to support him. Actually let this same youth chairman or whatever he is, tell me just 5 things that the president has done to improve, not the Zambian people at large, but this same chairman’s life!!!!

  3. That’s the problem in these rural areas they are fed with different information and that is how come the MMD keeps winning. The challenge is on us to educate them on the real situations otherwise MMD may still be voted in power come 2011 by rural Zambia no matter how much we blog and debate on these forums we need to take these debates in the rural areas and aim for 0% illetracy levels in Zambia. God bless Zambia.

  4. These same villagers will be the ones who are hit hardest from the effects of mismanagement of resources by RB.What development has RB made in Zambia, manda mandas? GMOs or is it trotting from one country to another pretending to be working?Prepare for hard times like never before in RB dynasty

  5. Shame on these ill-informed villagers. What has RB done except globe trotting? Shame on you and on him….

  6. This must never be allowed, even if it means us tearing down LT to make sure he doesnt stand..nonsense..Zambians, please look at the bigger picture.!

Ba Jonas ati bwanji? Atishani ozi?

  7. Ofcourse its not yet 2001 and Mulachi is just waking up. What do you expect from someone who is 10 years behind? He sounds like ET. Where is AT & T, they could do well substituting ET at the Universal Studios in Orlando Disney World with Mulachi, that way people will really get their two penny worth of entertainment. Where is Steven Spillberg? Here you go, you were right about ET because one has been found in Namwala.

  8. This is why HH and Sata must join foces, including those MMD members opposed to RB. Then we will be able to rid this nation of RB and corruption. Otherwise we will keep suffering while they enjoy. There is nothing sensible RB has done in the 7 months he has been in power apart from trying to do funny deals., how the hell does he deserve to continue??? lets be real and stop supporting nonsense. Am so disappointed with KK and chiluba!!! anyway I dont blame them, KK is UNIP and so is RB. I blame those who voted for RB………. ABASH RB!!! ABASH TETA!!! Abash cadre mentallity.

  9. Zambian youths are really easy to decieve, so what have they all seen in RB for them to shout for another term for him?
Is there really no other presidential material around apart from RB & his crew?

  10. Impressive opinion.

  11. These are political gimmicks being cooked up by Teta , mulogoti and Namugala, the presidents close associates. They have been feeding these poor people to go out and say these things, so that it seems RB has been asked to continue. Anyone in their normal sense, what has RB done that is worth praising???? True blue MMD will not vote for Banda, all constituency chairmen can say all they want but 2011 RB kuya bebele. And now KK and Grey Zulu have joined the wagon, not surprising, Bululu and UNIP. The hour needs different batteries.

  12. Eye…i think nomba we just need to start planin on leavin zed.i would rather live elsewhere than see RB in power.i mean…he is not doing anythng 4 us.just busy feeding the cadres!!Rubbish Boy!

  13. Ala bulanda bushala……., Ba Godwin Mulachi its quick for ANYONE to conclude that the only success story You and Rupiah have scored and will continue to score is traveling aimlessly within the region. Talk of retreats pa Hippo lodge, ni pa bukote. Lesa twafweni!! Our country requires urgent overhaul in nearly all corners, how I wish the issues we debate here reach the ears of the people we have entrusted to run GRZ.
