Mrs Kapoko demands access to her property

Share

Mary Kapoko, the wife to Henry Kapoko, the prime suspect in the financial scam at the ministry of health, has applied for judicial review regarding the restriction to her property.

Mrs. Kapoko has applied for judicial review in connection with the restriction to her plot number 9971 in Woodlands extension and a Toyota Hiace Mini-bus.

She argues that even if Mr. Kapoko to whom the restriction notice over her property is addressed is her husband, she is entitled to own property as a Zambian citizen.[quote]

Mrs. Kapoko also contends that she bought plot number 9971 at K310 million from a Mrs. Stella Kabwe and paid for the property in installments.

She added that she bought the Toyota Hiace Mini-bus in October last year from her business proceeds.

The Anti corruption Commission-ACC- and other security wings have restricted a number of properties in connection with the 27 billion kwacha financial scandal at the ministry of health.

Among the notable properties restricted is Lusaka’s Best-Home Lodge.

  1. Iwe Mary dont play with fire. We do not pay tax to feed greedy citizens. Otherwise you will follow your hubby.

  2. Mummy imwe, fyonse ifyo fya kwiba.it is not your property it belongs to the Zambian pipo. it doesnt matter weather you paid for it in installments. your husband was probably stealing in installments as well

  3. mary dont you know that whatever your husband bought for you was out of stolen money, so stop demanding for what you nor husband did not work for.

  4. mary your husband is a thief and you should just keep quite until they finish his case thats wen you can demand for your property.

  5. baibe, before you cry louder post us your cash flow and just when did you start earning your income.so that we can judge you.but if it relates to the time kapoko started stealing then forget.

  6. I can’t believe she even had the nerve to say that.Niku nkala che mami.chill en wait for your time to come.sha!!!

  7. Zambians Zambians Zambians, ma , ma ma ma ma we shall never progress! Now Pa Wamba and Ba Inzi mukamba chani, let her have her property comon, u mean Mary cant enjoy her property? let her have the property then if investigations show that the property was bought from stolen money then the property can be forfeited to the state. U know one thing, if a zambian buys an expensive car its stolen money, if a labanese o chinese buys such a car its ok! shame to such thinkers…… One day my friend was passing with his Jaguar xtype, then some chaps at the feeling station said hey check out that guy, im sure he stole from his work place can u imagine…… we will be fighting each other for every progress a zambian makes… But i can tell u this I DONT SUPPORT THEFT

  8. As the Ketuvim say ” dishonest money always comes to an end while he that gathers little by little makes it grow. Unfortunately spouses that have benefitted from proceeds from crime should bare the brunt of justice too. It’s a well known tactic to launder money via spouses to make it seem legit. I wonder if mrs kapoko has the invoices and accounts to show that the money really came from her business, and just for clarities sake where did she get the capital for the business.

  9. Yes baby bauze ……the law has to be applied farely on all plunderers. There is no restriction on the assets of Miti and other big fishes. This is selective fight against corrption which the nation has noted. Mrs Kapoko has all rights to challege the biases law being practiced in Zambia.

  10. They are dealing with ONE KELVIN BWALYA here as their lawyer…what do u expect. The guy and cash are ONE…Mary pls gather what u can for the storm is yet to come…those kids need alot from u guys, stop wasting it all on KB and these useless judicial reviews..pls i beg you

  11. The Courts should give her a chance thats when we are going to know the truth about her claim to have boughtn the house from her own business activities. After all the husband is still an accused person and innocent until proven guilty by the court. From stories doin the rounds that when the man had all his wallet full the woman (Mary) was nothing other than just being a title holder of Mrs. The rest were being chewed by girl friends etc. So let the courts give her a chance. This is a country of governed by laws. Lets avoid being being emotional to avoid crusifying pipo before they are heard. Kapoko and group could have done worse to the country but let us separate their activities from family affairs. Its Kapoko who was employed by GRZ and not the wife or children.I rest my comments here.

  12. Bana Kapoko who gave you the capital? am sure its your husband who gave it to you from the same stolen money!!!!

  13. Uzinkalako serious iwe chimuzimai.u even have the guts to seek legal redress. Munaba bane .dont be cheated my freind or u will also go in like Kapoko.BAKABOLALA.Do u know how many pipo die because of your stealing!

  14. There we go again people talking about law. Nothing against anybody here, but, it seems Zambians are abusing this “law”. No wonder lawyers are more than rich now. The state have the right to seize property and hold on to it until one is proved innocent. hy are Zambians thick?

  15. NSENGO;
I we ka Mary you ran away from your husband when he was enyoying with 10 girl friends ne ndala isha kwiba you only came back when kapoko was in remind. Am told ifwupo fyalipwa naiwe wale jama kukasama nama boy friend nendalama shakwiba. Tawakwata no mwenso where did you work even the business you have it is kapoko who gave you the money. Wekapuba, abantu balefwa ku fipatala after mwaiba indalama sha muti. Muka chimona bapushi mwalibula nechakumilya

  16. Better to leave the determination of what lawfully belongz to who to our competent courts of law. For now theze judicial reviewz and the like will merely be academic.

  17. Hehehehehe…. ba mary K310b from business proceeds in Zambia? House wife? ACC, DEC & ZP can u kindly pick mary to help with investigations. I belive she can leads to more serious issues of corruption. Pls for the sake of the majority Zambians suffering, find out what kind of business she is involved in and her business partners, where she got her start-up capital and many others activities.

  18. Mary unless you tell us your business or the company you work for otherwise palibe zako nangu tell us that you had those things before you got married …

  19. Shame. I feel sorry for her, but unfortunately whatever has to be done to get to the bottom of this scandal, has to be done

  20. It is common to hear some wifes say ; ‘ I also have right’…for Mrs Kapoko this translates to ‘rights to have access to husband’s property stolen or not…after-all my husband is just the accused. Me and husband Kapoko were married at civic centre in commune of property’. Mrs Kapoko you are making it easy for GRZ prosecutors to find you and Kapoko a single prison cell. Nice try though.

  21. God help us, one have noticed Zambia is that, you have money people will start suspecting you. It’s either you have stolen or you a Satanist. We don’t want to see other people doing well. Even though Lupiya Bamda is encouraging people living abroad to come and invest in Zambia. The moment they see them doing well, they will start investigating them or calling Satanist. Jealous alipitila mu Zambia nolupato.

  22. It’s interesting how thieves are becoming braver by the day, and louder too. The other day it was Chiluba announcing from an anthill in court that he wants his US$4 million grudas he invested in our ZAMTROP Account. It’s all because of this so called Judicial Review, it is sad sure.

  23. If she was able to raise so much money, albeit in instalments, can she show the tax returns from this business of hers? It’s like George Kunda claiming he was making K500 million per year before he came into office, we will ask him to explain before the courts when he is fired tomorrow of how much tax he paid on this money and to show proof in form of written tax returns.

  24. WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM A LAWYER LIKE KELVIN KAWALALA BWALAYA……THIS CHAP HAS NEVER WON ANY CASE…..AND IS THE ONLY LAWYER TAKING UP CASES FROM HARD CORE CRIMINALS…..

  25. Zambia Zambia hoye, Ubututu mwalipitilila, If we see other people doing well nishi aliba or he is a Satanist. Even though RB is encouraging people living abroad to come and invest in Zambia. We will soon start calling the Satanist or bakabwalala. Zambia is not going anywhere.Jealous alipitilila we don’t want to see other people doing well.

  26. Mrs.Mary Kapoko, K 310 million. Where do you work or what business are you running that you can have such profits to buy that house? Maybe you got A LOAN from one of the financial institutions?

  27. She must have been running very lucrative business to manage profits of 350-450 Millions , only the truth will save them

  28. #28 I think umututu in this case is you (I mean it in english). Why do find it hard to accept investigations have to be done? In case you didn`t know, every country has the right to seize even what you call your own.

  29. LEAVE MY WIFE ALONE SH HAS MON,I MARRIED HER WHN SH HAD MON TH FATHR LEFT PROPERTIES IN UK AN SH COLLECTS RENTALS FROM THOS PROPERTIES MONTHRY RENTALS $20,000 ANYWAY U DNT KNOW WHR WE CUM FROM ASK NEDBANK IN SOUTH AFRICA WHR WE RECEIVE TH MON FROM UK ANYWAY TH JUDGES AR DEVELOPING COLD FEETS BCOZ I WS FROM TALKIN TO MY BANKER KAIMEN NAIDOO FROM SA TO SCAN BANKSTATMNTS FOR THS INVESTIGATORS PIPO WILL BE IN A RUDE SHOCK VERY SOON.DNT JUDGE OUR WEALTH IS THRU HARD WORK ENTRPRENUERSHP.

  30. Ba mary bekalefye panshi p.s #26 SENZAGAKONA, ON kunda as much as i dont like the guy, his claims are probably too he was working with many private/international firms as senior legal aid n consultant and 500 mil for what he was doing is more than possible, unlike MARY who is a housewife n money to start her business was more than probably given to her by hubby

  31. #30 What`s amazing is if I did exactly the same business she was doing, I wouldn`t have property she claims to have. Says a lot about our country unfortunately. Sad but true.

  32. What nerve Mrs Kapoko. Why not keep quiet until investigations are over. You can end up shooting yourself in the foot. Pantu already k310m is an eyebrow raiser.

  33. the people are angry really angry and the least she could do is shut up. I truly conquer with # 25. it is appalling how brave these scumbags are becoming. We are tired of this and from this day onwards we the masses are going to lead a nationwide campaign and join a revolution of zambians willing to reclaim our past glory and prove to the world that indeed our fore fathers had a vested trust in oposterity to achieve higher hights than that which was left us by the colonial masters . A dream we have lost to these incompetent and clearly selfish politicains and public servants. We will commit to make that blood spilt in our struggle for freedom recliam its honour by crushing all forms of injustice.

  34. #32 Kapoko where did her father get money to buy property in the UK? By the way, property in the UK batata is very expensive let alone properties! Unless kuma estate or ex council but then again the rentals are not good enough.

  35. #37 Sesheke imagine! She even have the guts to open her s t u p i d mouth. Why not shut her gob? Someone has talked about Kafupi doing the same and they are right. Honestly investigations are underway why is she even talking about this? More like Miti saying ndiwakaele! Ala!

  36. # 38 ANYWAY THTS WHY U BE SUFFERING U ZAMBIANS I PITTY U SUM ONE EVEN THOT ME AN MY WIF AR SATANIST THTS TIPICAL ZAMBIANS UR ANYWAY LETS AWAIT FOR TH JUDGMENT.WHN U SAY PROPERTIES AR VERY EXPENSIVE WHT DO U MEAN IN UR EYES OR OUR EYES ASK CORPORATE BARCLAYS MY CREDITS OR INFLOWS ON OUR STATMENT WITH MY WIF FROM SA NEDBANK.SO ZIP UR MOUTH U DIE SUFFERING 3RqU.

  37. Yaba this Bitc.h again.Kapoko if found guilty will be sentenced to 30 yrs in prison with hard labour and get married to a land lord just there, so pray baby for your husband to be found not guilty than uttering such prayers because this is our money we pay as tax payers.
You just beautiful but that is our money baby making your cute.
    God bless you

  38. Against the background of the financial scam, it won’t be easy for the Kapokos to retain their property. I feel sorry for the family but when the bread winner becomes the prime suspect, it maens the bottom of the bucket has dropped out. So how can you draw water out of the well?

  39. Its hard earned mon u guys, anyway let th law tak its course u cry jst lik th way dora ws cleared even th without RB intrvention i ws jst from talking to him before th press confer.

  40. How many of us are listening to the RB press conference? This man is a total waste of time, I didnt vote the last time but who ever did, munatigo’nga pls. Ni plastic aba ba Banda sure.

  41. Surely if you claim that you did not use money that Kapoko gave you, you must give a justifiable reason where the money came. What kind of business does she do and over what time period where the instalments made. What is the business annual turn over? If such are questions are not answred satisfactorily, then Mary might also need to be investigated for money laundering or possibly even tax evasion. Where is ZRA? Can you guys move in on this and check if taxes have been properly accounted on this huge cash amounts that seem to be passing through mrs Kapoko’s hands.

  42. l hope its not Eric silwamba trying to encourage her to challenge the case at hand. what can you expect in this country ?he has done it b4 for concubine Dora

  43. Fifty Cent said “GET RICH OR DIE TRYING” but in Zambia it has been misinterpreted to GET RICH BY STEALING. Even thieves can challenge the courts that whatever they have is theirs, look at this woman Kapoko, Chiluba, Chungu, Dora etc, they have the nerve to hire lawyers and challenge the courts. What happens to a poor nurse demanding for their rightful earned wage…they are threatened with dismissals. Im really disgusted by Zambian politics. I have all i need in Europe and send money to my family time to time.

  44. Iwe Mary! Thats what happens when you marry criminals. You end up losing even what was yours genuinely! Siumvela Mary. You could not even give some of us a second look pantu nshakwetwe tu money. Waona manje? Try as you may, you will not get that property back. Its been tried before. No one has managed. Funsa FTJ. Bakashana, learn from your collegue. Simumvela imwe!!

  45. “Finshi unganmpela iwe?” was how iwe Mary, you answered me when i proposed. And thats despite the fact that am much older than you! Whos laughing now?

  46. And for sure you bought that property worth 300 million and paid for it in instalments. There i agree. Two instalments!!! In two hours!!

  47. just find some one to marry you…your hasband will be in for a very long time….no sex, no money….shame.

  48. what is she demanding for?what ever she IS claiming for came from her husband and KAPOKO STOLE FROM US…NO ONE WIL LISTEN TO HER ,SHE HAS NO PROPERTIES

  49. People! Lets us not judge the woman by her husbands acts, she has legal rights to seek judicial review and i think it is better to let the law take its due process than to speculate based on emotions and hatred for the Kapokos, let us not assume everything they have was corruptly obtained. In oder to convict someone you need evidence and not just wishful thinking. Kindly think thruogh some of the things you say and do not just cricise for the sake of doing so, give constructive critics which can help our nation to move foreward and not stuff that is bent on dehumanising others.

  50. #57 There are procedures to follow whenever you are doing something in the civilised world and what is wrong with her taking that process? Why can’t she seek legal means to address her issue when you have used legal means to get her property? There is absolutely nothing wrong with her action. Don’t confuse morals and laws!

  51. iwe future #67, you dont need to be a rocket scientist to know that her husband had something to do with her wealth.

  52. Unless she proves she was not married in community of property. everything she owns must be confisticated. That is basic law. In short what is hers is her husbands and vice versa. So # 73 that is proof enough

  53. # 75 I DONT THINK SOUTH AFRICAN LAW APPLIES THE SAME WAY IN ZAMBIA. BECAUSE IF IT DID THEN MRS KAPOKO WILL LOSE HER PROPERTY.

  54. #75, that law does not apply here. I beg to differ with you there. However, she needs to prove the source of that income she used to purchase the property. Knowing Mary, she will say, “from my husband, my Lord!!”.

  55. If she can prove that her income can enable her to buy the property and that she really did then it might be hers. .

  56. Mary it’s sad you never advised Henry to stop stealing. You knew his basic pay and don’t tell me that could buy all sorts of expensive car inluding hummer plus Best Home Lodge and other constructions still going on. If that money was not clean money!!!!!!!!! Had he been driving even Toyota Harrier was going to be understood, maybe. I will just stop here becoz am so angry phew.

  57. Ba Mary , it does not matter if the money you used to buy the house was from your father, their is an investigation being carried out, until they finsih, any property owned by the accused will be treated a proceed of crime, the same law is used when dealing with Drug dealers, prostituion proceeds or even oganised crime proceeds. You can cry how you like, they will not allow you to access that propety , until they are finished with the investigations. Go and rent a room Ku Mutendere or Kalingalinga.

  58. -ROOM FOR RENT WANTED:
Mutendere or Kalis, Iam Mary Kapoko, looking for a one room to rent, just need a bed and Mbaula, one pot and pan , one plate and spoon. Please call me on cell Tel: 0766789520 or email me [email protected] ( ASAP).

  59. Bana Kapoko – I fail to understand you thinking ability, surely can you tell us how much you earn per month/per annun or was it a morgage. You greedy woman!

  60. Luxury for Mary is a dream lost once again. No more unless she start stripping on the streets for cash then she will manage.
How did she manage to buy that much, where in Zed?

  61. It is a poor family that hath neither a whore nor a thief in it.She that is married to a thief is a thief too.

The possessions of the rich are stolen property.

    Property is theft .

when deeds speak, words are nothing.

The great thieves lead away the little thief.

  62. Thieves respect property. They merely wish the property to become their property that they may more perfectly respect it.

  63. Mary Kapoko says , please bloggers, could you help me find a one room to rent, i need it ASAP.no running water needed or electricity.

  64. #87 Ghost dog says: Hi Papa, Mary Kapopo does not need property , all she needs is a ka One Room , please see her advert above for the room.

  65. #90 ba honey wasup sweet heart, forget about that booty her ass is sweating right now, lets talk about me en you,so wasup wit you baby?

  66. Broken hill wre ar u kanshi, this Ghost Dog (simba the Dog)is Back again, pliz tok to him,hw can he b tellin my like tht

  67. she may b amrried to kapoko but i think let us allow the due process of the law. it is possible for her to own such property so it does not mean that a thiefing husband always has a thiefing wife. sometime our wifes dont even know what we do. so please bane stop judging her because she a woman. a woman of today does not always have to depend on a man to own something

  68. be strong mrs kapoko,u dont get riches on a silver plate a u have certainely made your life difficult by asking for a judicial review coz more things will come out.

  69. I DONT TRUST KAPOKO ANYMORE…..HE IS ON THE VERGE OF SELLING HIS WIFE AFTER ALL MOST OF HIS PROPERTIES HAVE BEEN TAKEN FROM HIM,HE WANTED TO SELL THE GIRL FRIEND NOMBA KAMUZALA

  70. Hi, people you should be fair. On my own i feel in most cases the wife may not have been enjoying the husband’s money. What you should understand is that when a husband has money he feels the wife is inadequate for him. The husband can buy a vehicle for a girl friend while the wife is walking. I am a married woman too and i know what wifes go through in homes. So what ever she owns should be left alone. She is innocent in the whole thing she was not the one who reported him ku ACC, it was his gal friend so what are you saying most of you here are not married and you dont know how it feels for a man to be so proud of himself and look at his wife as not being beautifu. I am wit h you gal. Good lucky

  71. Mary Kopoko, FTJ, he knows the dos and donts , He has written a book , How to steal public Funds and get away with it, by FTJ. V1 .Just read this book , i know it will help a lot.

  72. 106// she didnt sweat for that property WIFE FOR SALE BADLY USED BY ONE CARELESS THEIF CASH PAYMENTS ONLY ASAP BONUS INC MY CHILDREN

  73. there are other case s of massive interest of stealing in zambia and yet many of those people go to court from there homes living under the same money they are accused of stealing .chiluba for example .the unfortunate part is that the law in zambia works well for the those without connections .kapoko did not have those connections.but looking at the way the others have been treated (the law being equal )kapokos family should be fairly treated -vera was appointed minister while the husband is being tried for embezzling the country.what is the difference .she went to live in chilubas house in ndola .everything was fine .wake up and realise how the politicians think ,they are entitled to steAL .THE judiciary cant agree more ,looking at how kapokos family has been treated.shame judicial syste
