Doctors diagnosed 4 diseases in Sata

Share

PATRIOTIC Front president Michael Sata was diagnosed with four diseases including heart conditions on September 8, last year after taking 22 different medical tests at a named clinic in Lusaka.

The comprehensive history of medical records obtained in Lusaka yesterday have indicated that Mr Sata tested for various illnesses and he was found with heart complications and two other named diseases which Mr Sata described as minor.

The records show Mr Sata’s address as City Advertisers, Farmers House in Lusaka while his residential address was shown as number three Omelo Mumba Road in Rhodes Park.

He confirmed having been diagnosed with some diseases, which he named as indicated on the schedule obtained by the Times of Zambia.

The PF leader, however, denied that the diseases were serious and that a special machine was used to treat a named condition to the heart in South Africa.

Mr Sata has lately spoken ill about the illness of Vice-president George Kunda who flew to South Africa for medical reviews but the PF leader alleged that the vice-president was instead evacuated.

When he returned from South Africa, Mr Kunda announced that Mr Sata made telephone calls to the Zambian High Commissioner to South African Leslie Mbula seeking confirmation that Mr Kunda was dead.

Former PF secretary general Edward Mumbi said Mr Sata was preaching hate instead of unity.

Mr Mumbi, in an interview yesterday, said he expected Mr Sata to send messages of goodwill to the Kunda family and the Government instead of wishing his fellow human being dead.

Mr Mumbi wondered why Mr Sata should celebrate illnesses of his fellow human being when he was equally affected by some diseases.

He also dismissed Mr Sata’s claim that the illnesses were minor and challenged him to seek a medical doctor’s interpretation of the four diseases.

Mr Mumbi said the late president Levy Mwanawasa evacuated Mr Sata and no one celebrated but when he was treated, he came back and said it was a political strategy on the part of the Government to evacuate him.

He appealed to Mr Sata to stop politicising illnesses because everyone can fall sick and called on politicians to highlight development issues.

He said Mr Sata was a very ungrateful leader who would leave his pact partner United Party for National Development leader Hakainde Hichilema complaining when the time comes.

  1. National issues please an not Politricks. We tired of your arrogance. We need more silence if you got nothing to talk about an less violence when the masses goes to vote.

  2. This is all nonsense from the MMD and Times Newspaper. We have already resolved to vote for the PACT come 2011!

  3. The Times Of Zambia has really sank to its lowest of low, should be renamed,” The Gutter Times Of Zambia!” Well Sata has offered to pay for tests for three other people, I guess the Times should followup with the zeal the have shown, to ENCOURAGE these people to take up these FREE TESTS!!! We are all eagerly waiting!!

  4. There iz need to give a true reprezentation of facts az iz obtaining on the ground. For the “Timez of Zambia” to try and paint M.C. Sata the way they have using individualz like Mumbi iz extremely sad. And if this iz the way they mean to decampaign the oppozition, then they’ve got all wrong and are in for arude shock

  5. You have told us what Michael Chilufya Sata is suffering from could you also tell us what His Honour the Vice President of Zambia Mr. George Kunda SC is also suffering from…. if you could go in detail explaining what the PF president’s ailments are it will only be fair to also tell us in detail what the Vice president is suffering from. Moreover they are both public figures…….

  6. I have never seen such CHILDISHNESS before!! Instead of discussing the DEVALUED KWACHA politicians are discussing illnesses. Children in Kindergarten are definitely more mature than these politicians!! Shaaa!!!

  7. We need government response to MC Sata’s challenge below:

“In reply to Mulongoti, I am challenging comrade Rupiah Banda and comrade George Kunda and comrade Mike Mulongoti for us to go for specific tests of three conditions: (1) heart condition, (2) HIV/AIDS and three Caposi Sacoma,” Sata said. “And I will bear the costs of the test whether they will be done in Zambia or not.

  8. Fellow country men, its a sad day in Zambia when our leadership can sink to such low unprecedented levels! How can we even debate about who’s suffering from what? Really? As we try to mitigate the HIV/AIDS epidemic, we must be conscious of how stigma can set the nation back wards especially on the issue of VCT. Its unfortunate and heart breaking. I weep for my nation. Did it have to come to this? Our hospitals are falling apart and we debate illnesses, our eduacation system is ashambles and still we call each other names, poverty, lliteracy and poor infrastructure, still we give petty politicians headlines!… a sad day for mother Zambia!

  9. Ba LT,why are you only picking stories from Times of Zambia and Daily Mail, we want to see what the Post has got as well No wonder people are saying u are no longer independent but are now MMD is it true.
from The Post “I am challenging comrade Rupiah Banda and comrade George Kunda and comrade Mike Mulongoti for us to go for specific tests of three conditions: (1) heart condition, (2) HIV/AIDS and three Caposi Sacoma,” Sata said. “And I will bear the costs of the test whether they will be done in Zambia or not.”
So let them go for the tests together, how about that?

  10. Lusaka times, you are a joke of a media. To you this is news, why cant you talk about developmental issues? Has this got any meaningful values to economical trend? Comeon guys you should grown. Thats why we are saying this has a link to d.i.r.t.y. MMD

  11. Imwe ka George Kunda kalwele. World over, I have never heard of a medical facility that can admit a health/fit person for over 2 weeks just performing medical reviews. Limbi ka Kunda kaile mukuchinja blood………utubantu tumo sure?

  12. KWENA UBU BUPUBA SANA, just imagine Gordon Brown, Nick Clegg and David Cameron discussing and arguing about their personal illnesses! Will the people let them continue with that nonsense????

  13. This type of “jonalisim” being exibited by the tymz chaps is just disgusting!!!!!!!!! So wat if Sata is sick? Don’t we all fall sick at one tym or another? Wether ba Sata is HIV positive is not a problem for us as we shall still vote for him!!!!! Beta to have a sick person @ plot one who perfoms than an economist who daz not comprehend economics!!!!!!!!!!

  14. With such a screaming headline in the TIME of ZAMBIA, I was thinking there will be valuable Information. It’s great we know about Sata and that he has healed. Sata challenged and I will equally want to challenge Rupiah Banda, Mulongoti, George Kunda and Vernon Mwaanga together with Sata to go and be tested for HIV. This call and come and needs to be followed! I think ARV’s have really impaired the thinking levels of these dudlums.

  15. Am sure by now even our pact partners PF now understand why HH should lead this pact. This expose of illnesses is nothing short of childness. We should not blame LT i believe the man who started all this is the old man sata, all he should have done was act his age not shoe size, those challenges are childish. And if it comes out they have akadoyo what will it change, careful oldman you may be championing stigma we have tried hard to kill.

  16. this is very embarrassing!!am embarrassed for commenting on this actually.
Dont we have important issues to talk about??Infact all we do do in Zambia is “talk”no action at all.
I hope this is the last piece on utter rubbish that LT will post.
May i suggest LT that if you have nothing of developmental interest or worth reading, then go keep yourselves occupied elsewhere coz this is beyond S T U P I D!!
Am in disbelief at this amount of total C R A P.

  17. Times of Zambia, once a cherished newspaper has really fallen to the rock bottom and it’s even digging deeper. Whereas it’s the politicians themselves who have raised the issue of health and ailments, why not mention the illnesses. Times has not done us any service by simply say DRs diagnosed 4 diseases in Sata without mentioning them. The heart condition Sata talked about it and told this nation he is healed. Fairness and objectivity requires that facts are presented as they are and not engage in scarecraw tactics.

  18. Lusaka Times and Times of Zambia, why you write useless stories. Sata was just trying to find out whether George Kunda was dead. Some of us wanted George to die, he is as useless as a used condomm.>:)>:)>:)>:)>:)>:)>:)>:)>:)>:)>:)

  19. Has times of zambia got enough money to pay MCS? This is scandal of the highest order. What do Medical Council of Zambia got to say about this?

  20. Let all contestants in 2011 tripartite elections undergo extensive medical exams to avoid having a crop of leaders who cant think or reason properly because their brains are damaged due to sickness.

  21. LT at work. Chief MMD carders. They have no major source of news apart from Times of Zambia. They can only quote The Post when it suits them.L T you should learn to publish stories with facts if you are to remain valuable. Its true you have published from second hand source but when your source is careless it does not mean you should also be careless. When your helper walks in public naked, it does not mean that you should also go public naked just because you don’t have any other helper. You are reducing yourself to the level of carders and loosing your professionalism if you will be publishing rumors which are aimed at character assassination.

  22. we all know MCS had a heart problem, GK has AIDS and Mulongoti has Diarrhea of the Brain and mouth….who cares.

  23. LT PLEASE DO NOT INCLUDE THIS TYPE OF ‘NEWS’ ON YOUR WEBSITE. If you continue reporting these petty counter accusations by Politicians, you will be encouraging the diversion from developmental issues and the welfare of citizens by these people (politicians).

  24. i have just comeback from the hospital, the doctors told me that i have 4 diseases
    1. Akatungwe
    2. Bolabola
    3. Songkela
    4. Ichipute
    i was treated by a special machine:d:d:d:d:d:d

  25. The vice President himself is a sr. Lawyer and minister of legal affairs who should know that you can never discuss any one’s medical records in public that is strictly between patient and Doctor. I think Zambia is at it’s lowest with leadership at the moment many will agree with me. ‘ Zambian Dr. based in UK!

  26. Change is what we need pa Zed.Ba MMD thinks they own Zambia but they will be surprised in 2011.If MMD wins in 2011 I will denouce my country and go to afghanistan to join the talibans.

  27. L.T. if you have lost your usefulness and you have out lived your life span, please just stop and do something else. May be you were right on 1 April when you published a story that you were due for closure but then you turned the story into fools story. Do you guys have the heart and vision for development of Zambia?. Please may I tell you whether you will read or not that you are an embarrassment. But the parents are more embarrassed than the thief caught. 28. Mfumu, let us condemn all the media organisations that we have in this country. They have all lost the ethics am telling you. The governement controlled are being told what to write offcourse, the Post is bent on damaging other people`s images. No Ethics at all. I know we enjoy reading the Post, but do you think everything they write about is true? Lets look at look all these papers with a serious analysis. Quite alright when the Post is writting about Sata they are always writing in the Positive and when they want to write about the president its always Negative, honestly do you think all what the big man does is bad. I have tried to go round the country. What i have discovered is that MMD governemnt is working and people are very happy in some provinces.

  29. let all heed SATA’s challenge…….go for AIDS and HIV test so that we know who is a prostitute. We know that the top 5 of MMD will die soon for they look to have kalayenoko disease.[-([-([-(

  30. It has been said over and over and over again how low the calibre of leadership we have in our country heralded by their Times newspapers, Daily mail and ZNBC. How do these attacks on Sata help to develop the country? The disclosure of Sata’s ‘illnesses’ can never be complete without disclosing what George Kunda’s illnesses are. Kunda started all this on his arrival from SA and we demand to know his diagnosis too. As so many people have said, Zambia needs God’s intervention.

  31. The MMD now trying to get Mr. Sata’s health record and to make them public. OK I shall also disclose George Kunda’s Illness. Remember folks I said I have a sister and brother that work at Milpark & Mornigside Clinic where these fat Govt, leaders are flow for medical attention.

George is on ARV’s. He forgot the treatment regime whilst campaigning in Mufumbwe, his immunity went low and he was evacuated to South Africa for blood transfusion. His Silly Willy-Dick yali balula kwati bowa, alilya mambala chi chair-lady chamu MMD.

  32. This is what happens when you let people stay in power beyond their retirement age. They lose their brains and become kids again and all they can talk about is kids staff.

I think LT needs to be applauded than bashed for providing the platform where we can tell the guys at Times of Zambia how useless and petty they have become. I know my letter to the editor wouldn’t make it into their news. It shameful to sink so low. I have not seen veteran or Bootlicker, would be interesting to hear their views on this true gutter journalism from their mouth piece Times of Zambia

  33. Who STOLE or SOLD Mr Sata’s medical records?

An independent police force would be investigating this by now.

  34. Ba LT hear me Good Ubu abumpuba total nonsense I wonder what to expect next with these articles you are writing maybe the next article would be to describe Kunda or Sata’s private parts who knows lets wait and see

  35. we need fresh, young and healthy minds in GRZ period~X(. I am sick and tired of this nonsense%-(

  36. But this is total non sense. Why should someone’s sickness be an issue? We are all sick if subjected to stringent medical checkups. One Medical Consultant at the Royal London Hospital once told me that the fact that we are feeling well does not mean that we are fine. Once we are subjected to stringent modern medical tests, we will be caught napping. Whether Sata or Kunda or Mulongoti is sick is a non issue. Thank God they have managed to keep them selves alive.

  37. It just shows that zambia is finished. How can times of zambia publish such stories about sata’s tests he had in zambia. how gave them permission it against medical ethnics to discuss patients results with any one. Mr mpompo is right to say that G.kunda should haven’t spoken the way he did on arrival at airport. It just shows element of guilt and the rumuor about aids. Everyone lives in a time boom, so let the leader find a way to sort poverty in the country. Not flying to SA everytime they are sick. why cant they improve their own medical facilities

  38. Bane in IT can we get another media to compete with Lusakatimes. Their so called news is pathetic now days. Surely we need to informed but not this.

  39. Who is not sick in Zambia amongst the politician anyway? This is total rhetoric of its waste kind. Can people concentrate on real issues. We know the health shitstem is rotten and needs restoration and more privacy on the patients’ information.

  40. E bututu, bututu ubwine bwine at the highest level! E malyashi aya!

One of the dullest issues and reveletion mankind can put on internet.

  41. i think that the debate about who is sick, more sick, healthy or healthier is hollow and does not add value to the wellbeing of the people especially in rural Zambia where over 90% are living on less than a dollar per day. Check what is happening in UK with the hung parliament. Politicians are not attacking personalities, Nay! They are selling their visions and ideas. They are talking about Reforming the Election System, Financing of Public Schools, Healthy Care and other thing which are so dear to the electorates. When are we going to mature politically, napapata!!! If we begin a campaign like Fr. Bwalya to rubbish statements which border on personal attacks irrespective of which politician uttered them we achieve something positive.

  42. Bakunda Kwali abanenu abalechinja umulopa lelo yalizanda, enshita ino ine iyakupanga peace before we lock you up to die in a jail cell

  43. Talk of what can be done to improve the conditions of our health institutions in all provinces to benefit all. Talk of improvement in the Agriculture sector to improve nutrition for all. Talk of improved net work to facilitate communication and movement of products from point A to B. Talk of improved social facilities…Ala! 😮

  44. The MMD are being childish, this chap Mulongoti is more sensible if he shuts his mouth. The Zambian people should know the health status of their leaders as they use our money when they go out for treatment. Be mature even though you are not!!!!

  45. Lusakatimes: WE all know that you an mmd branch trying to pusssy around and make points for them! Bring up developmental issues that makes sense to the wider world community, and not just in statehouse.
Trying to beat the post! they have facts you got nothing, but already digested stories from times of Zambia and that Daily mail of yours!
    this is shiiity

  46. Mr Sata has the right to confidentiality. If his records have been released to the Times newspaper without his consent, he should complain to the Medical Council of Zambia. The medical centre and doctors who divulged this information must be censured and possibly the practice cerificate suspended! It is high time Zambians were serious for once. I do not approve of PF but Mr Sata is entitled to privacy and confidentiality. The Times of Zambia is bang out of order here!

  47. # 59.MBUTA LIKASU

We know that you are Veteran,Senior Citizen. who post those stupid Comments. Now that your Boss Mr Walking Stick, Deadman walking is in trouble to go for a challenged Medical Test, you are trying to divert attention to other issues. You puke alot when MC Sata is Attacked by your fellow Dogs in MMD,get it on now, advise GK to go for a medical Test witg MS Sata…Remeber the PF is good at Obtaining Infor. You Should draw a lesson, how many times has The Mad Dogs tried to emberass Mr Sata and they end up in a serious humiliation.GK Started all this fuss upon arrival fron S.A.but check how far it has gone, even requiring him to disclose his health status which seemz questionable in the eyez of Zambians. ma live kuseni, malive muzuba,ma live usiku..wina andya live mailo.

  48. everyday our elders act more childish, just look at mulongoti, kunda and sata himself………….somebody please come from the blues and liberate zambia, where u @? sondashi, i hope you are still praying and fasting?

  49. Facts should be told. We know that Sata is a patient too like George and Rupiah. When a person dies, dont all people including patients attend his/her funeral. Who is not apatient? Let us see hands in the air? Let us not depend so much on people, God can take any one away any time. You remember the story of the rich f.o.o.l in the bible. The trouble is discussing people’s healths here.

  50. Dear Mr/Mrs/Miss/Ms/Dr Lt Editor,

what the hell is this rubbish? shut down your website if you have no decent stories. i know you are a making money from our comments, but have some sense of ethical and professional standing. Who cares if these guys are sick? why dont you report on starving kids, shortage of desks in schools, lack of jobs, economic faliure, etc???

shame on you, this is poopoo!!! ~X(~X(~X(~X(~X(~X(~X(~X(~X(~X(~X(~X(

  51. Zambians no need to complain. you have a choice to get a modern manager and live or to get a 1st century manger at plot one and die. The choice is yours. Det30:1>>>>>

  52. On “The comprehensive history of medical records obtained in Lusaka yesterday have indicated that Mr Sata tested for various illnesses and he was found with heart complications and two other named diseases which Mr Sata described as minor“, the dis-easy(ies) are gone according to Mr PF/Sata MC in the POST Newspaper of some day back. Sadly, this is very bad ethics by the MMD Times of Zambia.

Impressively, Mr PF/Sata MC has already challenged the MMD Administration leaders of GRZ to go for a public test of illnesses with him in today’s POST Newspaper report ““In reply to Mulongoti, I am challenging comrade Rupiah Banda and comrade George Kunda and comrade Mike Mulongoti for us to go for specific tests of three conditions: ….

Mr Sata will even pay the costs…

  53. The problem with comrade SATA is he talks too much. The problem with some people with the virus is they like pointing one finger at others and pointing the rest (fingers) at themselves. This is typical of ba SATA

  54. ths is wat i woz tok bot! times of zambia and lusaka times are so shallow in their reporting, very useless mediaz. how can da whole lot of foolz at times of zambia just think of publishing such stories? and you chi Hakainde Hichilema #73 just shut up! useless chap!

  55. the story is just not right lusaka times get a gripe on proper stories i dont really care who goes on that special machine and i bet banda have a few himself AIDS HAS COME FOR EVERYONE NOT ONLY SATA ,CHILUBA,KUNDA MANY MORE INCLUDING MY SELF

  56. looks like the case of an egg and a chicken. You dont know whether to blame the politician or the tabloids that carry these stories (quoting even in verbatim). Every coin has two sides. there are those that cherish what the post writes and those that dont. There those that cherish what GRZ papers write and those that dont. On the balance of things some one some where is to blame….Is it right for the papers to write useless things at the expense of real developmental matters? Lets discuss this. I think these tabloids have gone COMMERCIAL big time.

  57. If there is any CHILDISH politics going on in the World, It is in Zambia. Surely our politicians and their supporters do not have any agenda other than castigating themselves over Simple, Natural and Normal occurrences in Life like getting sick…This is what it means to have very old Politicians leading the country they will always drag the country to old age symptoms. Sata, RB, Munkombwe ….the list is endless…Kokai Kokai Mu Zambia..

  58. Just shows how hypocritical the majority of people on this site are . There are two great stories about the Indaba resolutions and another one about cost of doing business ..and how many comments less than 5 on both. You call this rubbish and yet you pour your heart and soul to say it is rubbish, forgeting that you and MR Sata started all this nonsense. Since when did Sata care for VP to bombard us with phone calls like he did? And how many condemned Sata for that? Zero and you still consider him a hero worthy of statehouse. In your dreams. Get used to the fact that SATAN will never rule Zambia.

  59. Everyone will die one day, its only that we dont know which day or the time of the couse of death. if you were born the next thing is to die yes or yes. AIDS or no HIV bonse tuli bakuya. SO LETS TALK ABOUT BUILDING A BETTER ZAMBIAN NOT WHO HAS BEEN USING INTWENO YAKWE UKULABIKA PANTWENO PA LAST YAFUMYA NENTWENO MUTWENO.

  60. Zambia the real Africa. Dont we have data protection. How do you punblicise medical records of a patient. The culprit clinic or hospital should be sued and banned from practicing.

  61. ALL THE LEADERS ARE WRONG ON THIS ONE MMD AND SATA, PLEASE TALK ABOUT ISSUES THAT WILL HELP US POOR ZEDIANS

  62. I see logic in the manner we contribute. So why not tell our politicians in unison that we dont want insults and cheap politics. Is it because we are “future leaders” in making? C’mon Zambians we can do it. We are one and need civility in the manner we carry our selves. Thanks #82, 77, 67 etc

  63. Our country’s current trend of politics is becoming more and more unpredictable, by the day. You wake up one day, you are hearing insults stemming from a case which took place in 1964.By timeyou calibrate the full info, They are trading insults arising from personal diseases or the death of a minister as was the case after the death of Hon. Bonshe (RIP), in the mean time, the whole country is inching towards 2011 – general elections. The sad part is; there is no follow through on all these nasty exchanges: the 100 hearses, presidential Limo, fights during by – elections etc. Please don’t take the electorate for granted. The days when leaders would call the “electorate stupid fool” at press conferences are gone. In a parliamentry system, we could have seen another hung parliament in…

  64. Its *****ic of you LT to even publish such junk and expect us to have it for a cup of tea. If you want to be credible, don’t associate yourselves with such job journalism as found in Times of Zambia. Remember the chinese saying, “He who quotes a fool is most probably a f….

  65. Yaba.We have had enough of this careless talk.PLIZ LT can you change the topic.Today in Lusaka the Olympic Youth Development Centre has opened it’s doors. Not this rubbish like who is suffering from what and what or so and so is being caught with this and that sickness ma rubbbbbbbbbbish. ~X(~X(

  66. So maybe now Sata will stop focussing on the health issues of others and give us some tangible policies. To me this issue has parallels with the Chiluba case – if you live in a glass house, dont throw stones!

  67. #78 Mr Licker. Your point is very good. We must also contribute on those importamt items. But are you telling the truth that Sata bombarded YOUR office with telephone calls? He agreed to having called once or twice inquiring about the status of the VP. And those programmes will only succeed if they are not mixed with politics. Let the real stakeholders get involved not William Banda. The programme on the cost of doing business in Zambia should not only focus on foreigners(so called investors) but also locals. The government should find ways of supporting sme’s for them to compete with the Chinese. We need real empowerment.

  68. Right through the floor goes the level of politics in Zambia. I mean, what manner of gutlessness is deeper than this Sata and the MMD are reaching out to? I feel like puking really, all these guys are sick and one wonders why Sata or Kunda just don’t quit politics because if they do, the level in both parties is bound to rise. And for Kunda, he knows very well that the Zambian constitution only allows people of sound health to run for president and if indeed Sata’s sicknesses are that bad, why did the “learned” lawyer allow the constitution to be bonked by allowing a sickling to run for office? One sometimes feels like “Jerryrawling” all of them to put them out of their sorry misery.

  69. LT please dont include such kind of stories on your site. Like what has been written in The Times of Zambia its all rubbish!! I would rather throw my K3000 in toilet than to buy Times Of Zambia or watch ZNBC.[-([-([-(%-(%-(

  70. AND GEORGE KUNDA WAS DIAGNOSED FOR WHICH AND HOW MANY DISEASES, AND WHICH ONE(S) ARE NEGATIVE OR POSITIVE? WHICH ONES ARE SERIOUS AND NOT SERIOUS?

  71. #78 you are right. Lt will test how useless we are on how we like useless issues.Remember, same kind attract same kind.let us ignore all politicians who bring non issues.if you cheer their stupidity you are just encouraging them.who among human beings have never fallen sick? All I know is all politicians are sick. They lose a number of body cells per day. No wonder you can’t know if they are laughing or crying sometimes. Some of them repeat the same lies they told the nation 20 years ago thinking that one day that lay will be true. They are all sick, because they think we don”t know how much gratuity they have got from GRZ.Some have got so much than what their constituency has got in development.

  72. This is the dirtiest campaign in Zambia’s history ever. People in Lusaka, CB, big towns, or wherever you are getting all this nonsense media coverage are you seriously going to vote for any of these chaps? We absolutely DO NOT have leadership material in these loud-mouths. HH has at least managed to be discreet and shown himself wise in that sense. The rest of these people are a disgrace and an embarrassment. Pray for Zambia – seriously. It will be sad to continue with these childish leaders. Taba fundwa![-(

  73. If the records were released by the clinic that’s a definite breach of privacy and I think he should sue otherwise none of us are safe really. It’s unethical for a medical practitioners to do this and it’s a shame we leave this kind of paparazzi stuff to people ok! magazines. the times have just put this clinic in trouble because of course he knows which clinic he went to. How many Ministers suffer from AIDS no one breaches their privacy. speculation is well within the media’s rights but to obtain private records….

  74. To all my fellow progressive citizens, take heart. The day the MMD is kicked out of power, the Times of Zambia, ZNBC and Daily Mail will tell us what George Kunda, Mulongoti and the rest are suffering from. They will even tell us what they have stolen and where it is hidden. THEY PRAISE THE GOVERNMENT IN POWER AND NEXT YEAR IT IS THE PACT IN POWER. Veteran and his cronies will be named and shamed!

  75. Ba Sata Ninshimbi, what ever MMD throws at him bounces. If he had 4 diseases, and he is strong and campaigning viciously then we need to give credit. ba George one Disease only and it put him on ARV’s and he is now wearing big jackets to hide his bones. aha who is the better of the two????

  76. The PF president; please retire and remain an advisor. You are too old to impact zed. Please start grooming someone while you still have breath. :-w

  77. THERE is better news happening today THE OLYMPIC COMITTEE PRESIDENT WAS IN LUSAKA OFFICIATING THE FIRS EVER YOUTH SPORTS CENTER. POSITIVE ACHIEVEMENT ALTHOUGH THE PROJECT STARTED WHEN MWANSAWAS NOT RB was president so just the way he distance himself from MOH scandal he can also do the same here KUDOS to the olympic committee coz not everyone is going to be a star student but some can be great athletes and this is were it starts

  78. RB has not yet disclosed which leg had a problem when he went for an operation in South Africa. Some of us know that it is his third leg. Fi Kaposis Sacoma mu State House. Ukutemwa ubuchende….

  79. You will vote for so called pact if you want another Y’aradua of Nigeria. And by the way who heads pact? Is there sucha party as pact? What diaspora views!!

  80. In today’s Post, the MMD’s chief A.S.S. licker, mulongoti clearly and openly admits that the MMD concealed the commission of a crime and failed to report it to the police for investigation and possible prosecution. Speaking about Kavindele, Mulongoti is reported to have said: “…Kavindele should have been in jail had the party secretariat taken the bounced cheque to the police in line with the law”. Lawyers out there; Isn’t there a law against this sort of thing? Or is this just another confirmation that there is no law in Zambia that those in power cannot circumvent to suit their own ends?

  81. I would have given credit to George Kunda to come back and thank the minority that cared whilst he was in hospital on medical “review” for two weeks – caused cause he forgot to take ARV’s.

But the moment he landed at the airport, he started saying things that is not befiitting a VP. Previously a VP just like in America is not and was not supposed to be making noise but to be in the shadow of the president. But pa Zed yaba. George’s lips turned red-giving a red card to his boss. Why are our politicians in Africa so so so……Kaya!!

  82. Doctor P obviously you are veteran/senior citizen the only one who goes off topic for UNCONSTRUCTIVE reasons, why go back to pact and voting I am telling you YOU are RB and MMD’s worst enemy ichiku pempula echi kulya by all this so called “positive propaganda’ you are trying to spread you are hurting RB more than helping him. I will always say the reason most of us don’t like RB is because the people around him are very bad image builders in fact i think they even secretly laugh behind his back after giving him some nonsense advice

  83. You guys, Please lets be objective on these issues. If it was the post with that story then it was going to be the gospel truth, now its the other papers its false!!! Why do you like sensational papers………atasee

  84. Are there any laws in Zambia to protect the privacy of, and condientiality of the medical records of patients? Or is all left to whoever is in power to deliverately leak these to their own mouthpieces to publish for all to see? Incxredible!! These fellows forget that they will not be in control forever! It’s unbelievable that the are doing this for the cheap satisfaction of gaining political advantage! Wait and see how Mr. Rupiya Banda’s “knee” problem will be transformed into something completely different in due course. It’s just a matter of time.

  85. #78 MMD Chief Bootlicker
There are people who say that television destroys morals but there are others who say that television onle reflects the morals of the society. I take the later view. It seems to me that our opposition politicians are also reflecting the views of the people. It is hard to debate issues in Zambia without people resorting to personalities. I would like LT to give room for bloggers to put forward contributions to how they would run the country on a K1.7 trillion budget. No sooner than they start, they go into personalities. Unfortunately, you have just done the same in your last line!

  86. “…Mubanga gave Fr Bwalya a seven-day-ultimatum to report all MMD members to police for threatening violence against him failure to which they would beat him up and teach him not to “insult” President Banda. …”
IT IS SURPRISING THESE THREATS HAPPEN IN ZAMBIA IN FULL VIEW AND HEARING OF THE POLICE. SO, IN ZAMBIA, THE POLICE WOULD RATHER WAIT FOR ONE TO BE RAPED OR BEATEN UP? WE HAVE A BARBARIC BUNCH OF LEADERS.

  87. “…He advised Fr Bwalya to take a leaf from what happened in Mufumbwe – where MMD thugs were taken to beat up opposition UPND members.

“I want to congratulate Fr Bwalya for reporting MMD Lusaka Province chairman William Banda to the police, what he did was good and he should not end there, he should report the entire MMD to the police for threatening violence on his life failure to which we will beat him up and teach him not to insult our president,” he said. “I want to tell everyone that Fr Bwalya is not immune to beatings. We will flash him out and I want to advise all MMD members that whoever meets Fr Bwalya they should conduct a citizen’s arrest on him, he is a danger to society and he should be deterred.”
    …”

  88. There is nothing wrong in knowing the the diseases of our public leaders. That is why Sata has challenged other leaders for tests. If indeed the Times of Zambia accessed the so called records about Sata`s health why cant they name all the 4 diseases? Its common knowledge that that majority of MMD leaders (men) are HIV positive because of their mischief.

  89. cntd from 111.
My appologies to the blogship for being out of topic and copy and pasting. But, I feel this a sad situation in Zambia if citizens can be threatened with the blessing of state police and the government. This clearly tells everyone (epecially those living overseas where laws protect citizens/residents from such threats) that you are not safe in Zambia. Because, how can one or a group of known people publicly threaten to rape or beat up an individual or a group of citizens without police intervention? On a serious note-who is going to introduce teethed laws in Zambia?

  90. ZAMBIAN WE REALLY LOVE TO WASTE TIME. WHO CARES WHAT RB, MS, HH OR GK HAVE. WE ONLY NEED DEVELOPMENT NOT WASTING TIME ON THINGS THAT WILL NEVER HELP THE COUNTRY. LPM WAS CALLED ALL THE NAMES IN THE BOOK ABOUT HIS HEALTH UNTIL SOMEONE GOT SICK AND LPM HELPED SAVE HIS LIFE.WE NEED NEW LEADERSHIP NOT MMD, PF OR UNPD, THEY ARE ALL CHILDISH. TWENTY YEARS FROM NOW ZAMBIA WILL STILL BE THE SAME BECAUSE ALL THE CHILDISHNESS.

  91. This is a misuse of taxpayers money. Someone reports to work to put in manhours to reveal someone else’s illnesses! Should we wonder why there is no money for development projects in Africa? Someone who should be focussing on solving the electorate’s problems wastes time and resources to reveal a political foe’s illnesses. And we allow it! Where are we going as a nation? Elias Chipimo Jr is your party going to follow these nincompoops?

  92. Most of the people who have contributed are foolish and misinformed because they don’t know that Sata is the one who started these nasty descrimination. Even if you don’t like the MMD learn to be fair. Sata and RB are very Old and outdated. Viva HH

    UPND for life

  93. Do we really have important issues to talk about in this country. the LT and Times of Zambia have come unproductive and retrogressive. what type of news is this, everyday??? When will we ever have credible news to build and encourage the poor zambians who have no jobs, can not afford 3 meals a day, no school fees, can not pay hospital bills. Medical records are personal for goodness sake, grow up!!! Who has never had any sickness? who is perfect here? this is getting out of hand. Find something sensible to talk about pliz!!!!!

  94. I do not support the PF and Mr. Sata. In fact I am extremely anti-PF/SATA but I believe Mr. Sata’s medical records must remain confidential. It is not fair for the Times of Zambia to publish someone’s private medical records without his consent.

This is the reason I support statutory media regulation in Zambia which PF cadres sympathizers and bloggers have been against.

  95. Zambia has become an embarrassment to democracy and civilization. If this is what is called a modern government, I would rather have chiefs running our affairs as it was before this so called modernity. Where is the ethics and morals in our public officers and the people at government run Times of Zambia? Can the Times of Zambia give the rationale in doing what they have just done? What happens if the opposition takes over government?

I really do not feel sorry for Sata, but I feel sorry for the people at Times of Zambia and the nation at large. There is nothing damaging in the report on Sata, but the sad thing is we are really on a slippery slope. I have stayed away from blogging the George Kunda ills knowing that it is really his and his doctor’s problem. Sad Zambia is sinking so…

  96. …low. Even a young girl in the name of Kabwela at least took caution in not embarrassing the government but sent the photos to authorities for action on UTH problem. What did they see? Porno. How can we develop if our minds are bent on destroying and creating a false image of those in opposition? Where did the Times of Zambia get this record apart from the government who payed for Sata’s medical care?

In Bemba we say, inama yabaice, tainona. Really this government is being run by very childish and mediocre thinking individuals. First it was Kunda who just got of the plane and he threw a tantrum and lied that Sata called to confirm his death. Why lie like that? Does the word maturity mean anything to these people? If so, when are they going to mature?

  97. The all essence of public service is to guard against and keep secrets no matter how painful it is to do that. Sane people have gone to their graves with secrets in their heads. Not even their spouses are prived to such information. There is ethics and there’s regulation. Here, it is both. I remember in our traditions we never even mentioned or talked about one’s pregnancy. We guarded against that. Now if this is our modern politics is bringing, I think I would rather live under my Chief Kazembe’s leadership rather than this buffoonery being displayed in Lusaka.

My question is, did the Times of Zambia think they will sell more papers by so doing or it was just to try to damage or embarrass Mr. Sata? Do they know how much sympathy they just created for this man?

  98. Mr. Capitalist (#119): You must be sick in the head. If you support media regulation, why is this article coming through The Times of Zambia that is highly regulated and muzzled by the MMD and its government? I do not think that The Post would have sank so low as to publish this kind of personal information about a political figure. The Times, Daily Mail, ZANIS, and ZNBC are already highly regulated by the MMD and Shikapwasha; the attempt at media regulation is designed to bring The Post to function in the same manner as these government news media institutions. Open your eyes Dr. N.M.

  99. @ #124 Mundia-Yeta

There is no media regulation which is why the Times of Zambia and Lusaka Times published this story. You are too petty which is why you assume without any evidence that media regulation is aimed at THE POST when media regulation will include all media houses registered in Zambia including QFM news, Times of Zambia and yes indeed THE POST.

What would stop THE POST from publishing something similar? with media regulation, it would stop all media houses including the Times of Zambia and THE POST from publishing such.

The reason is you’re too petty and full of PF cadre mentality which is why you cannot reason beyond what THE POST is feeding you right now simply because they paint the leader you support as a saint. Give me a F***ing break.

  100. Capitalist (#125): I am not a member of the PF-UPND pact. I am an executive member of the Agenda for Change (AfC) party. It is our belief that existing laws and regulations provide the necessary checks and limitations on the operations of media institutions in Zambia. The Penal Code (introduced in 1931 and amended in 1990), for example, defines the following as criminal offences: sedition and defamation (Chapter 191), defamation of the President (Chapter 69), and defamation of foreign princes and the publication of false news that incites fear or violence or damages the national security of the country (Chapter 67).

    (Cont’d …)

  101. Other pieces of legislation which provide additional regulation of media operations in Zambia include the following: the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation Act (1987), National Broadcasting Corporation (Amendment) Act (2002), Theatres and Cinematograph Exhibition Act (1929), Criminal Procedure Code Act (1933), Radio Communications Act (1994), Printed Publications Act (1994), Information and Communications Technologies Act (2009), and Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (2009 ).

    (Cont’d …)

  102. Instead of introducing additional regulations aimed at regulating the media,
the government needs to operationalise the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) in order for the broadcasting media to be regulated by an independent body, and to enact the Freedom of Information (FoI) Bill and make it possible for journalists to access information that is vital to both the media and members of the public.

Passage of legislation relating to freedom of information and the operationalisation of the IBA would, accordingly, be accompanied by rules and regulations by which media institutions would be expected to operate. Among the functions of the IBA, for example, would be to promote broadcasting standards and codes of ethics and practice.

  103. @ #128 Mundia-Yeta

Those sound like some good plans but do you honestly think throwing insults at govt like you PF like to do is going to make them enact such policies?? How are they supposed to listen when in your first sentence, you start by insulting them? Honestly 😕

  104. Time to empty the recycle bin, ladies. Stop crying about windows 98…eh Sata, RB et al. We need someone with the 21st century mindset. Take one last look and vote for change.:)>-=d>**==

  105. You guys in the MMD government, you should condemn Mr. Sata. You are to blame because you want to hide important news to the people who voted you into office. We should not be specurating the whereabouts of the Vice President. This is what you did with Mwanawasa. He was dead and you didn’t tell us what was going on until we started hearing stories from other countries. This is bad and don’t accuse anyone for your stupidity. We are sick and tired of your low thinking.

  106. Interesting exchange between Mr. Capitalist and Mundia-Yeta. The Times of Zambia must have published this article on orders from the office of the Vice-President. After all, the VP stated on arrival from South Africa that he had information relating to Michael Sata’s health. The VP has become “infamous” for using the intelligence reports and briefings he gets on a regular basis. This is the kind of leadership we are likely to give a five-year mandate in 2011! Shame on us.

  107. Mundia-Yeta @ posting number 126 … you guys in the Agenda for Change are wasting your time by playing on the sides; get into the mud and steer things up. Zambians are looking around for learders who will deliver on their promises, but you are kind of timid … kanjani?

  108. Wow! 133 comments to Sata’s health condition.

This is ridiculous. In the West, we just retire the chap and get a 43 year old like Cameron who has adequate degree’s to carry on where the old man left off.

In Zambia, you get so stuck to a 74 year old grade 3 drop out with bad health that you cant think beyond your noses.

Its no wonder that after you mess up your country, you run to ours to take over our jobs which we created for ourselves by electing educated people in to government.

You might as well get us (the west) to choose your leaders for you and decide your economic policies.

It pains so much to hear the truth about Sata’s health.

    Shame!

  109. Let’s hope this so-called “Times Reporter” is not Enock Ngoma. Enock used to get his ARVs from Kalingalinga clinic. Does he also remember that his sister took him to the ZNS clinic along Kafue Road? We have not forgotten.

  110. Are we for real in Zambia? Discussing someone’s illness in public. Its Sata’s right to disclose or not to.And we have time to discuss people’s hearts when we are drowning in poverty. Dn’t worry HH will be suitable to knock RB off the stool. Its just dirty politics by MMD, and why can’t they also tell the nation what makes the veep go to SA for treatment.

  111. Austin Liato, Chishimba Kambwili, Ikanuke Nooyo, Sonny Mulenga, GBM, RB, na Lungwangwa bonse balikwata Prostate cancer. But still balatomba….

  112. Austin Liato, Chishimba Kambwili, Ikanuke Nooyo, Sonny Mulenga, GBM, RB, na Lungwangwa bonse balikwata Prostate cancer. But still balanyenga….

  113. We all know that Sata has a heart problem that is why he was evacuted to South Africa. What is new that you are telling us? Which diseases are you telling us. Pabwato! Nangu Pali Hichilema finish! Time for change is here.

  114. Zambian pleasecan we choose issues to debate about other than this. We are slowly shifting from politics of issues that matter to useless and petty articles that can’t even develop our country. We are busy politicising diseases in our manifestos whilst our friends in developed countries are discussing stragies to improve the standard of living of ordinary citizens.Lets change this direction of thinking and focus on the ways and means to mitigate country problems.

  115. From calling each other names,to typical insults, now followed by health politics. When are we going to have politicians who stand and start telling people what they will do for them. Its too much now.We are sick of these kind of politics.Just tell us what you nplan to do when you are put in office that is all that matters to us.Those are personal issues otherwise if these two guyz whats to challenge each other let them get in the Political ring so that we see who get a Knock Out

  116. Can someone make me clear on this one.I thought all patients regardless of whatever sickness they may have, have the right to confidentiality of their health status?how come someone had to access the so called four diseases from another person’s health data base.Unless the owner accepts to publish medical results which should be approved by the doctor.I now question the intergrity of our health sector because when you talk of such issues balimba fwebengi ni kaya kaya.who knows?:-?

  117. Having HIV in Zambia so normal that nothing shocks me anymore. These actions of will backfire in MMD’s face because a lot of the same voters they trying to impress are also harbouring the same HIV. I don’t think it should even be an issue to the point that newspapers are reporting such

  118. I hear one of the diseases found seriously embedded deep inside Zondwe Sata’s medula oblongata was an incurable most vicious and highly infectious strain of Als Neurolues (Synonym: Neurosyphilis). In other countries, anybody who has this strain is put in perpetual quarantine while their reproductive organs are surgically removed to stop them from even having the slightest idea of fimo fimo.

  119. LT THANK YOU FOR BRINGING OUT MR SATA’S HEALTH RECORDS, BUT WHERE IS MR GEORGE KUNDA’S RECORDS. IF AT ALL YOU ARE PROFFESIONAL ENOUGH YOU WILL GIVE US TEH IMFOR AND DO US PROUD BY BEING FAIR

  120. LT am very disappointed by this article mostly the reason behind ur publishing it is vividly shameful!

  121. LT, you have outlived your usefulness. You have run out of ideas, you are too biased and you have started writing cheap stories! You can’t even sense the mood of your readers!

  122. Please mwebantu, 2011 is near lets not werst time on these pert issues.Ni change we are tired and sick.God help us.

  123. One blogger above has touched the problem on its balls. If the Times can publish such rubbish and it is an MMD controlled newspaper then what is government wanting to do by regulating the media? Their ‘already regulated’ paper is acting unethically and the MMD is happily fuelling this. This regulation of media campaign is just to muzzle the non-govt owned media…

  124. Infact it now 5 diseases, he has just been diagnosed with COPROLALIA by our good friend psych doc.

  125. Naufyo mwenso bane. This is how we are debating issues pa Zedi. Honestly we are spending precious time talking about who is and who is not sick. Guys who has been to Muf of late? We need real focus on development than talking about sickness. Yes our leaders need to be fit to run the country but they do not handle any shovels or operate the tipper trucks and graders. Lets remind them of the need to apply their efforts in the right places for the right reasons. Eh guys this is extremely childish. Other Countries should be laughing at us indeed!!!!!!!!

  126. This is ridiculous, only Sata himself is entitled to give information on his health conditions and that is not by law but on his own free will. I think this is very disrespective and a waste of office time and resources to start discussing this issue. Its uncalled for, its irrelevant and say a lot about how small some minds are.
Who even goes out to publish this without the concent of the owner? These are personal and the doctors or whoever releasd this information should be sued. Where are the rights of a patient? And there should be a confidentiality, it would be interesting to know where this came from. i hope Mr Sata follows this up and sues these boundaryless individuals. What a shame!!

  127. BIG SHAME ON THE EDITORS IN TIMES OF ZAMBIA FOR PUBLISHING THIS ARTICLE!! You ought to be embarrased. No WORK ETHICS, kumchita fye sue, kanshi mulifipuba.

  128. What about ba VIP, how many diseases has he got??? Sata seems just fine, tell us what this guy Mr VIP has got!! Ba VIP is in and out of hospital spending tax payers money….

  129. We are all sick and we work until we die leave Sata till death do him part with his hard work we are waiting for him for the love of Zambia
