Interim Faz president Andrew Kamanga has said his elected administration will engage Fifa over their Friday emergency council meeting that brought his executive committee to power today at InterContinental Hotel in Lusaka.

Fifa does not recognize today’s ECM and only endorsed Saturdays parallel meeting to be chaired in Kabwe by embattled Faz president Kalusha Bwalya.

In attendance at Friday’s meeting were National Sports Council officials Smart Mwitwa and Elliot Mphende including Faz life members Luxon Kazabu and David Phiri.

Kamanga’s interim executive committee has been handed the mandate by the councilors for a period of 90 days starting November 26.

Kamanga , a Lusaka-based energy consultant and official at  Kabwe Warriors, was elected unopposed with three other executive committee members namely ex-Roan United chairman Kephas Katongo who scooped the vice president post and Rix Mweemba from Mazabuka United as treasurer.

“That is part of the strategy,”Kamanga said after his election. “We will be talking to FIFA. We almost immediately engage them in discussions.

“They still haven’t heard from the two thirds and now that we have got a formal structure where the two thirds have decided and mandated us to deal with this issue. I think we are now in office to deal with that.”

Kamanga added that the 122 Faz councilors vote was a sign of the prevailing maturity of the democratic process in Zambian football.

“The councilors have made a decision and all we can do now is move forward on the basis of the constitution,” Kamanga said.

Meanwhile, while Kamanga, Katongo and Mweemba went through unopposed, six committee members from 17 that stood were elected.

They are Profund Warriors boss Ritchie Nawa, Zanaco official Stafford Kayame, Keith Mwewa of Nkhosi Warriors and Patricia Nyirenda from Kum’mawa.

Hellen Mubita of Lusaka City Council FC and Referees Association of Zambia president Welly Chikuka complete the list of committee members.

Focus now shifts to Saturdays ECM in Kabwe that Kalusha will chair as the Faz saga continues to unravel.

  1. Lets hope this thing is going in the right direction.Anyway it doesn`t matter even if fifa were to ban us .Atleast we will be proud of one thing and that is “we make our own rules as a sovereign state” and not as puppets of fifa.

  2. The fabric, or foundation of Zambia’s soccer so to speak, is not in the garrulous squabling currently stinking up any effort to rise from the ingnonimous depths of failuire we have fallen into.Simplistic rebellious acts without any visionary blueprints for generational progress as well as success do not provide resolution. It is time for Government to intervene and make national soccer a priority national issue and address it as such. Talent rich Zambia deserves to put up a quality product in quality facilities comparable to any in the region, South Africa included. This cannot be achieved under the current atmosphere of discord.Kalusha’s constituency is not the problem, neither is Kamanga’s a solution.President Banda, resolve and commit to return our country to the glory days of the…

  3. IF IT MEANS TO BE BANNED THEN LETS BE BANNED CAUSE AT SOME TIME THE BAN WILL BE LIFTED AFTER ALL ITS NOT LIKE WE ARE DOING VERY WELL WHEN IT COMES TO FOOTBALL>>>>AND THE SAD PART WILL BE THAT KALU WONT MAKE THOSE SO CALLED DEALS AFTER ALL HE IS IN SOUTH AFRICA<<<<<

  4. The constitution is not clear as to what should happen when four officials resign it does not say fresh election should be called and as such it is hard to say.The most logical thing is to fill the vacant positions and not those that are occupied by elected officials whose mandate is still existing. The pipo that drafted the constitution did not think nthrough all this kind of a situation.T HE SAME PIPO THAT WROTE THE CONSTITUTION WERE THE FIRST TO GIVE THE INTERPRETTATION THAT faz HAS DISOLVED IT SELF WHEN THEY DID NOT STATE SO. Cetain quarters are insinuating stealin why do nt they report the allegation to the police to deal with the criminal matter as it should be always.Kalu and others mandate is still running until it ends the vacancies sould be filled by ecm.

  5. Has Zambia ever won any trophies of significance apart from the east and central Africa, plus the decreasing in meaning cosafa?

  6. the saddest part is that there in explicit and implicit support for this madness from the so called life members and even ponga! kalu is not an angel but a human with weaknesses which all human beings have, and as far as i know, has claimed to be such. what he has however put forward is what he has accomplished through hard work and dedication to his trade and country. unfortunately, in zambia, you do this kind of thing at your own peril. you can’t broadcast an impressive cv without appearing pompous, disrespectful and downright arrogant. thats just the way it is over there

  7. Kalu is now a leader without followers. He is now leading himself hehehehe yaba !! This is what happens when u take pipo 4 granted. counsellors have now rejected him. He thought pipo will be worship him? no no who is he? They chased him as coach & now they have chased him from FAZ & next that old white ho-le in south africa will chase him. shame !! boasting na njala galu. What a terrible end of a career!!

  8. What all of you are not saying is that yesterdays meeting was actually only attended by 123 affiliates. I thought FAZ had 250 affiliates? Ponga is sour grapes, didnt get the cuts he thot he would with Kalu at the helm so now trying to `eat` through his friend Andrew.Same chaps who failed at Kitwe United?? Iyo ni sebana wikute!!. Its a question of a bunch of disgruntled chaps teaming up to remove a legit team of office bearers.

If these Kamanga characters had true football interest at heart they could have instead tried to claim the `vacant` 4 FAZ executive slots and work with Kalu. Nomba ukwisa ambila fye pamulu, tefyo bane!!

  9. # Mr Chilombo, I dont mean to support these councillors, but honestry can u mention anything that Kalu has accomplished either as couch or FAZ vise/President? To me you sound like Kalu’s cadre which is a big shame on your part. The way the councillors have handled this issue might be wrong, but ascertaing that Kalu has achieved anything to our footbal is an insult to the integrity of Zambian football.

  10. Lets wait and see what happens in today’s meeting. I’m eager to hear what they are going to say in this st.upi.d meeting they are going to have in Kabwe. Holding on to powere and diong nothing for the development of football..su.cke.rs

  11. Kamanga, you are a loser. What have you done at Kabwe warriors yourself to desreve this position? Why is the performance of KW so pathetic?

I was just checking the selected photos on Qfm Facebook page of the Faz ECM in Kabwe.Dennis Liwewe is there,FIFA member association manager Privo corvaro is also in attendance and seated next to Great Kalu and ofcourse a multitude of delegates. You see haters!!! Continue choking with hatred!!!

  12. Kalusha is not a god please mwe bantu. He has his successes. He played in KK11.Chipolopolo,a few teams in europe, mexico, rose to be FAZ tech director and President.

However he also has his failures:His school results at grade 12 are pathetic. He does have a management qualification. His marriage life is a shambles. He is a mexican citizen by the way.He demanded an expartriate salary to coach Chipolopolo and showed no results. He does not want to be accountable. His mind is crooked. He plays hide and seek with FIFA mafias and he is protected since the loot is shared. He thinks FAZ and Zambian football is about him alone. He wants to hide behind his wifes influences at FIFA Head office. He employed Dario Bonetti a cousin to his wife and we are not seeing results. In short he is a failure!!!

  13. kalu shod go, we need people who will be very seriousy with the all thing, kalu is good but he is over staffed, south africa and fifa, and now pushing for caf
