Residents find naked ‘wizard’ in the compound

Share

The Police discharged a man who was arrested on suspicion of witchcraft when he was found naked in a backyard at one of the houses in Livingstone’s Dambwa Central Compound last week. Eyewitnesses said the man who happened to be a stranger was discovered nude in the early hours of the morning at a certain House in the DB Section of the compound. Some Dambwa residents eventually started beating up the man while others demanded that he gets burnt with a tyre around his neck.

The residents claimed that the man was coming from Mulobezi using superstitious powers to fly all the way and consequently crash-landed. The uncompromising residents where positive that the man has been flying using a ‘juju’ Plane and eventually ran out of fuel commonly understood to be human blood. The elderly man, in his early sixties, was briefly manhandled by a multitude of residents before he was rushed to Dambwa Police Station.

A crew of scribes that rushed to the Police Post only found a crowd of people gathered outside the station mumbling among themselves as to why the Police released the man believed to be a wizard. Dambwa Central Police Officer-In-Charge, Gregory Sibajene could not comment whether the man was still in custody as his office was locked and his Phone was off but a source close to the Police Station confirmed that the man was detained for almost an hour and released later.

The source further disclosed that when questioned by Police, the man could not utter sensible words except that he stays in Mulobezi. The Police failed to figure out what his mission was in Livingstone as he said incoherent. Southern Province Commanding Officer, Lemmy Kajoba said the man was released on grounds of mental illness. Mr.Kajoba said many details could not be extracted from him since he was ill and had no case to answer.

  1. But why did Remmy release him on grounds of mental illness, wasn’t he suppoz to send him for Psychoanalysis?

  2. # 3, cool question. How can police release a patient? Why did he send him to hospital, besides the man was beated in the streets? ZP is no longer about protecting citizens.

  3. All the comments above suggest that the Zambia police are ignorant of their responsibilities. The police are not qualified to issue medical opinions. That superman should have charged for indecent exposual, tresspass or a as good gesture inline with the festive period , that man should have been refered to the hospital.

  4. lol ati burn him with a tire around his neck, aahhhh i hope i never end up in livingstone with a mental illness, so where did he go once released? aahh but this so called christian nation of ours shuwa, maybe he was jesus himself and was shocked to find residents of a christian nation beat him and threatened him with burning tires around his neck

  5. The spiderman ran out of webs thus crushed unceremoniously on someones backyard. Am sure the owner of the backyard knows the antidote.

  6. Imwe, this man suffers from dementia, a condition that affects old people. He probably lost his way from the toilet. People with dementia have problems with short term memory. He only remembers that he hails from Mulobezi. We will just finish killing tunkote for nothing.

  7. some people are fast judge, what if the man just run out of bed after romping someones wife, maybe the woman had fed him “love me tenderly portions” and got carried away till he heard the husband trying to enter the house after a sleepover kumalilo.

  8. If an innovative poor citizen is able to cut costs by using a more economic plane why trouble him. After all there is no evidence that he caused harm to anyone. Universities must start researching with a view to put this science to productive use.

  9. Ni mfwiti eyo,he has no illness or what so ever,Early hours in somebody’s backyard & you claim he has an illness all the way fro Mulobezi. Those of you claiming dementia let it happen to you so that you can explain to your traumatised kids that its nothing but dementia.

  10. Well,an old lozi man was defenceless and harmless at the time he was found naked.there was no need for pipo to take the law into their own hands by beating him up.Taking him to the police was the only wise move. And the police should have taken him to the hospital to have him examined for any possible internal injuries b4 his release. It was also too early to conclude that he crash landed because the fact that he was a lozi old man,he could have been on the famous Nalikwanda boat enroute to the unknown destination and eventually ran out of water hence couldn’t continue his .Its either ways since at the scene of an accident, there was no plane found nor a Nalikwanda Boat.

  11. Stop it you I D I O T S !!! The man has cognitive impairment, it could be acute or a chronic process. Maybee he has dementia, maybee acute phychosis, maybee he is diabetic and had an episode of hypoglycemia which is known to lead to confusion, a million other scenarios. You guys have to stop this superstition thinking.

  12. The OLD BAG should have asked for enough Jet Fuel from Zemwine, Another angle you should look at is he jumped out of an Airbus 320 after being dared in a drunken naked stupa….

  13. These things are real and they happen. The residents of Dambwa should have turned their wrath on the owner of the house where the crashlanding took place in the night as he posses great charms.

  14. Arrest the owners of the house where he was found coz its only a thief that catches a fellow thief and a witch that catches a fellow witch……

  15. A sorry state for our current generation. I did not expect in our age to suspect this man of of JUJU, not at this enlighten age, as if it is the time of my father in 70s!
Shame on you Livingstone residents including the Police at Dambwa Central Police Station and its Officer-In-Charge. The is the problem of being brought up in a superstition environment.

This man sounds like he has Schizophrenia or Dementia, so how can the Police release this man without taking him to the hospital for treatment? Did he even know where he was going?

The family of this man, Mental Illness Organisation or the Human Rights Commission of Zambia should sue the Police for negligence for not taking this man to the hospital for treatment.
Even the residents who beat this man should be sued for…

  16. # 20 i can’t believe, what you are saying!!! WHAT?

Did someone put fear in you by teaching you about demons and ghosts which you have never seen nor meet and all sorts of those old stories of horror stories, apart from you fears? These were just fictional stories.

I can not get surprised if you were also convinced to drink URINE to get protected the way Lenshina of Chinsali convinced those of the 1960s.

Those who believe like you, used to use JUJU to keep their businesses going, instead of using the modern ways of marketing and keeping customers happy, satisfied and balancing the Accounts Ledger book to maximise profits.
