UPND slams Media houses pitching Sata as a suitable candidate

Share

PF President Michael sata

The opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) Leadership in Southern Province has castigated some media houses for misleading the nation over assertions that Patriotic Front leader Michael Sata is the suitable candidate for the PF/UPND Pact.

In a press statement released to ZANIS in Livingstone yesterday, UPND Livingstone District Treasurer Winnerson Ng’uni said the reports in some media houses lacked merit and represent a total distortion of facts on the ground.

Mr. Nguni challenged media houses to advise the PF leadership to come up with a constitution and a manifesto which the PF currently does not have.

He further said the PF needed a constitution and manifesto to guide them on how to govern and rule the country and wondered how in the absence of the two documents, the opposition political party would run affairs of the nation without a road map.

Mr. Ng’uni further stated that the same media houses were aware that UPND President Hakainde Hichilema was the preferred candidate for this year’s general elections, but they have opted to ignore this deliberately.

He also recalled that in 2006 Mr. Sata appealed to Zambians to vote for him and promised to drop corruption charges against former president Frederick Chiluba once he became president but now says Dr Chiluba must be jailed.

Mr Ng’uni said this is a sign that he (Mr. Sata) had no laid down guidelines on how to run this country.

He further charged that the PF leader had lost support and this was evident in the PF Losing local government and Parliamentary by-elections.

Mr. Ng”uni also said reports from some media houses should be ignored because saying that the media houses involved had became image builders for Mr. Sata and urged them to apologise to the Zambian people for their conduct.

And Zambia Daily Mail reports that THE United Party for National Development (UPND) has written to the Patriotic Front (PF) requesting for a joint national council to resolve their differences.

UPND spokesperson Charles Kakoma said in an interview in Lusaka on January 24 the meeting will discuss demands presented by his party.

[pullquote]“This is one of the issues we have highlighted as a problem. We need to see how we are going to allocate the local government and parliamentary seats throughout the country. If we do not do this, we are going to clash in wards and constituencies and that won’t be good. This is a problem that needs to be resolved,” Mr Kakoma said.[/pullquote]

“We have written to the PF to have a joint national council. We wrote to them in the first week of January and we are still waiting for a response,” he said.

Mr Kakoma said the meeting is necessary to look at the many problems that the pact is experiencing.
He said this in response to an article in The Post newspaper published on January 24 in which Mr Sata was quoted as having said his party will field candidates in all the 150 constituencies.

“This is one of the issues we have highlighted as a problem. We need to see how we are going to allocate the local government and parliamentary seats throughout the country. If we do not do this, we are going to clash in wards and constituencies and that won’t be good. This is a problem that needs to be resolved,” Mr Kakoma said.

Last week, the UPND and PF differed when PF secretary general Wynter Kabimba advised the former against publicising internal pact issues.

This was in reaction to UPND vice-president for administration Richard Kapita, who told a press briefing in Lusaka that UPND will not allow the pact president to be chosen until contentious issues, including sharing responsibilities in government, are resolved.

  1. This whole pact issue is very cantankerous as Mpombo would say. Both parties are behaving like political buffoons ! Pick a president and start selling your manifesto to the people or shut up. Nonsense

  2. Hmm…are we suposed to read all the opinions expressed by every Jim and Jack ? Let HH speak for himself or atleast hsi spokesperson.

  3. Why not just say The POST Newspaper rather than media houses. There is only one gutter newspaper, led by some communist/maxist called Mmembe, that thinks Satan is the best opposition leader Zambia has ever had and believe he can be a good president. It is not even worthy to be called a media house I wonder why people are scared of that communist/maxist boy running that paper. He thinks Satan will give him back his Zambian Airways and write off his Finance bank loan. Good luck

  4. HH, please we are counting on you. Give a chance to the old man and your chance will come.
If we don’t go as pact, MMD will win and will just waste our time by claiming rigging is always failed to prove.

  5. “He further said the PF needed a constitution and manifesto to guide them on how to govern and rule the country and wondered how in the absence of the two documents, the opposition political party would run affairs of the nation without a road map.”

    IS IT TRUE?

  6. #3 Bootlicker I have to agree with you on this Hugo Chavez & Fidel Castro wannabe. Just because he is lawyer, this communist sympathiser thinks he is the Zambian Constitution by himself when the chap bought exams to pass the ZIALE bar exams. You’re right Mmembe is supporting or will support a candidate that is going to hand him & his crooked lawyers Nchito brothers Zambian Airways. Why can’t they develop a sustainable business plan for the airline rather than depend on GRZ connections and corruption? That is why he is using his so called Newspaper. I prefer to call it communist propaganda…

  7. How about the constitution and manifesto for PF? Will there be direction the time Sata will be allowed to sit and drive? That question………………….

  8. that is stupidity from UPND how can you say that PF has no constitution and manifesto, if you are tired just get out of the pact and go, SATA is winning this years election period and we will not allow a under 5 to rules us

  9. HH knows pretty well he is going to be the vice president to MC Sata in the pact. Now should we get anything coming from any ass’hole, no way.

To me the most important reason why Sata should be president is to come and rid this Country of the bull’shit we currently are in at the moment. We can not allow a situation where the minimum wage is at K400k, Underground Miners getting K1.4m , and when there MP says its a mockery, RB and his fat cookie thinks Kambwili is jocking. This foolishness can not be allowed to continue and not in this motherland. Sata is the only man at the moment who can bring these things to a hault, the reason why ALL RIGHT THINKING ZAMBIANS WILL VOTE FOR HIM.

    But please “DONCHI KUBEBA”

  10. @ #3 MMD Chief Bootlicker

Agree with your statement 100%. You’ve said it all.

  11. The only way of survival for UPND is through alliances or pacts with the MMD or PF. Without an alliance with either MMD or PF-UPND will not be a factor in next year’s elections. This leaves this country with two serious contenders for the presidency in next year’s elections – Rupiah of the MMD and Michael Sata of PF. And there is no way, even if there was to be an alliance between UPND and MMD, Hakainde Hichilema is going to be a presidential candidate. Equally, if the PF/UPND pact is to succeed there is no way Hakainde is going to be the presidential candidate of that pact.

  12. Bootlicker # 3. Why can’t you pronounce someone’s correctly? Am sure if mental ugly were a crime you’d get a life sentence.

  13. What is it that HH and UPND saw in Sata and PF? The man called him under five not once but twice before and after entering into this so called Pact. His vuvuzela, the Post has repeatedly despised him and wrote damaging editorials about him and UPND with Sata’s blessings of course. PF has no manifesto or development agenda to talk about. PF has never practiced democracy since its inception. The calibre of PF’s MPs leaves much to be desired. So what was HH looking for in this marriage? Is it not written or said that only birds of the same feathers fly together. It is this naivity in HH that Sata is calling under five politics. And few will argue with him on this point.

    Ya butali ubonela kozi kwahule.

  14. NO PACT, NO VOTE.PF/UPND PACT IS ALL WE NEED TO STOP MMD FROM CONTINUOS ABUSE OF PUBLIC RESOURCES AND STATE MACHINERY OTHERWISE IT WILL BE THE END OF BOTH SATA AND HH.SATA WILL SEVENTY SOMETHING SO HE WONT STAND AND HH WILL NOT BE ALLOWED BY FELLOW UPND MEMBERS TO CONTINUE REPRESENTING THE PARTY AFTER FAILING A NUMBER OF TIMES.
    NO PACT NO VOTE,PERIOD.

  15. A caller criticised Sata for having supported then President Frederick Chiluba’s third term bid, which failed, in 2001.

But Sata denied campaigning for Chiluba’s third term, saying he was among three people that convinced the then president to back down.

“That caller is talking Rupiah Banda’s language. If I would have not been in government and national secretary of MMD, the third term would have not failed. It’s me, Eric Silwamba from Isoka and Richard Sakala from Petauke who managed to prevail on Frederick Chiluba and drafted a speech for him to waggle out of the third term,” Sata explained. “If I would have campaigned for the third term, the outcome would have been completely different but what this caller is talking about is what Rupiah Banda said in Kasama.”

  16. #5MK, I think it will be prudent to let the old man to start because after 5years his age will work against him and Hon HH will pick it up from him. Believe me this in the only way we are going to sort out MMD and HH will gain more respect. If HH decide to solo will both lose as opposition, don’t you think so?

  17. There is absolutely nothing wrong to project a particular candidate as a more popular and preferred by certain media houses. Its their democratic right to choose who they want just like Daily mail, Times of Zambia and ZNBC have picked on the monkey’s toilet as their preferred candidate.

  18. Bootlicker # 3. Why can’t you pronounce someone’s name correctly? Am sure if mental ugly were a crime you’d get a life sentence.

  19. Fact! PF strong hold is the cream of Zambian brains. Fact! Sata is a man of action. Fact! Post is in business and must sell by writing news which are worthy their paper. Fact! Post is the only independent paper which has survived even after the major share holders pulled out to bring it down.Fact! Zambians are the master judges in the booth come the tripartite elections. Fact!. God already knows who the next Zambian president is and no one can stop him.

  20. propaganda at its best by MMMD…..trying to creat confusion. an official statement was issued by UPND on the position. not these un official statements by corrupted minions.

  21. No 20 Lier, I agree with you 100% and everyone knows but they are just stubborn and pride. People let’s work together for the betterment of our future.

  22. #21 the only fact is that God knows the one who will lead Zambia after 2011 elections, the rest are your opinions which are of course highly respected.

  23. We dont need another expensive state funeral,Both Arabee & Sata should give way,how many terminal benefits do they want to get in their lifetime?
Sata is too much of a risk to give power to.

  24. PF has mismanaged Lusaka, Copperbelt councils — UPND

THE UPND on the Copperbelt has said the Patriotic Front-controlled councils in Lusaka and Copperbelt provinces have been mismanaged.

UPND Copperbelt chairperson Elisha Matambo said in an interview yesterday that the Lusaka City Council and others on the Copperbelt falling within the ambit of the PF mandate had not performed to the expectations of citizens.

Mr Matambo said it was unfair for leaders to award themselves more plots than they were entitled to while denying other residents an opportunity to own land.

He urged the residents in Lusaka and the Copperbelt to reflect on the way the councils were being run in their towns.

  25. Mr Matambo said Zambians in areas where the PF was controlling councils should in this year’s elections vote for the UPND for better management of the local authorities.

He said the ruling party had had a chance to run councils in Lusaka and the Copperbelt and it was, therefore, chance for the UPND to take over the affairs of the institutions.

Mr Matambo said illegalities in the allocation of plots were not prevalent in UPND-run councils.
And a UPND national management committee member has said PF president Michael Sata has finally killed the pact following his announcement that the opposition party would field parliamentary candidates in all the 150 constituencies.

  26. UPND deputy chairperson for economic affairs Edwin Simusamba said in Lusaka yesterday that the Zambian people would hold the PF responsible for the collapse of the pact.

“It is unfortunate that instead of responding to the issues that we raised as UPND, the PF has decided to go against the will of the people to kill the pact,” he said.

When contacted, PF spokesperson Given Lubinda refused to comment on the assertions by the UPND official.

“I have not said nor have I read such a statement attributed to Mr Sata. Unless I hear about it, I cannot comment,” Mr Lubinda said.

  27. Addressing a public meeting in Northern Province last weekend, Mr Sata said the PF would field parliamentary candidates in all the constituencies country-wide.

UPND president Hakainde Hichilema last week confirmed that the two parties had been failing to work on a joint plan of action for the country.

The UPND has since set conditions for the continued existence of the pact, an idea the PF has frowned upon.

  28. Why do Zambians have short memories? Are you people telling me that you do not know one Michael Chilufya Sata who says one thing today and changes his position the next day.How can you trust such a person with power? Have you forgetten how he hacked innocent Zambians in Chawama, how he was bribing voters with K2billion Govt money, how he supported FTJ and has dramatically changed positions? Come on Zambians lets be objective and support wisely..

  29. Mushala #33, PF supporters are either all lunatics or are not serious with our lives as Zambians. Look at the people that Sata has surrounded himself with, almost all of them have dubious charaters. In the unlikely event that they win this year’s election how will they govern the country? Sata himself will also be minister of all ministries? This man Sata belongs to the achives, he should not be allowed to be near any instruments of power!

  30. Mushala #33, PF supporters are either all lunatics or are not serious with our lives as Zambians. Look at the people that Sata has surrounded himself with, almost all of them have dubious characters. In the unlikely event that they win this year’s election how will they govern the country? Sata himself will also be minister of all ministries? This man Sata belongs to the achives, he should not be allowed to be near any instruments of power!

  31. I hope Zambians will be serious and objective in their choices of who to vote for. The UPND is right to insist that the pact clears the manifesto before they select a presidential candidate. Please stop being dull cadres and understand that without a clear manifesto, the country may as well continue to be led by the MMD. It’s a pity, though, that both parties waited till now to get serious about issues beyond simply taking the MMD out of power. What is even more worrying is that the PF does not seem to hold the same ideologies as the UPND – Sata seems to think things are just going to fall in place minus creating a road plan. As they say, failing to plan is planning to fail…

  32. Its like UPND IS PLEADNG to PF and MMD is pleading to UPND and PF is arrogant. Those points raised by UPND at their last press conference are pertinent issues which any serious party must be able to acommodate without hesitation.
UPND wake up, if PF does not respond by this monthend, revisit your strategy and either
    1.Join with MMD or
    2.Go it alone
The second option is likely because MMD will never accept UPND conditions.

  33. john phiri@9 – That is a fact, the PF does not have a constitution or manifesto. Neither do they have membership cards for their members.
fide@21 – You better check up the meaning of the word ‘fact’. Those are in fact you opinions except only God knows. The Post used to be run like a business but now it’s run like a political bulletin with a sprinkling of news to maintain the semblance of a newspaper.
ka’Doyo@30 – This is one of the better looking pictures of Sata in case you’ve forgotten how he looks.

  34. #12 i think u are misguided..HH holds the winning card so is in a strong position to dictate things. its only a fool a stupid fool for such who can think a sinlge opposition party can oust MMD.If we all realise this, then only then will we understand the need of the pact.Either of the two Cobra and HH can lead the pact,it not the questiion of HH giving way for Sata,Sata can also do the same.
Lets subject this two to a vote, and whoever wins takes the presidency. The problem is tht Sata is a coward,if he is popular like he claims, why be scared to b subjected to a democratic vote.

  35. #41, I like your summary! Unfortunately for you john phiri @9 and fide@21 are typical PF cadres whose reasoning can only be compared to a derranged 12 year old boy.

  36. HH you have our support PF has insulted us its enough. Why do we have to continue pleading with them? Are we deafeted before the elections? HH we can assure you we are behind you on the copperbet coz you are more intelligent than Sata.

  37. Why can’t you MMD fools give us views why you must continue beyond 2011 you traitors. We need to put in place a person that will put the interests of the country first and not of the plunderers and fake investors who do not have respect for the local people. You keep rushing to borrow the money when you can easily collect in excess of $500million dollars in taxes from the mining firms locally, what a shame.

  38. NO PACT NO VOTE, because voting for either Sata or HH will just result in suspicion of vote rigging, so if the two cant work together for the common good NO VOTE FOR YOU PERIOD.

  39. WHO HAS RED EYES AND RED LIPS WHEN YOU LOOK AT THE PICTURE. RB IS HEADED FOR CLEAR VICTORY THE OPPOSITION IS WEAKEN AND CRACKED

  40. On … the PF needed a constitution and manifesto to guide them on how to govern and rule the country and wondered how in the absence of the two documents, the opposition political party would run affairs of the nation without a road map.[..] Mr. Ng’uni further stated that the same media houses were aware that UPND President Hakainde Hichilema was the preferred candidate for this year’s general elections, but they have opted to ignore this deliberately” this information is that has come out is good for the doubting Thomases and I hope the UPND-PF PACT leadership will dispute it if they want to tell the Nation that this is the case.

I hope the UPND PACT will now include ADD and other serious parties now that HH is PACT presidential candidate officially-known.

  41. Guys, your anger is welcome and I can feel your eagerness to change, it just shows the frastration among right thinking Zambians who feel they deserve better than now. I would suggest that the opposition remains united for the good of the nations. We need to take Chiluba, RB, Red Lips are all ther minions to Jail and let them rot there once and fo all. We cannot allow this situation to continue as it’s detriment to our development.

The past 20 years has been a shear waste of time and let’s move forward as a nation. In the meantime, the PF and UPND will continue campaigning as Individual parties. Aluta Change!!!!

  42. My personal take on sata especially after experiencing his rifraf behaviour at a cousins wedding is that this shikulu is worse than RB…he simply cant rule. the man doesnt have a roadmap…he cant even reason to allow given and HH to take Zambia forward. His is about self-interest and not the Zambians.

I dont fancy MMD & Rupiah but if Sata is the presidential candidate, my vote is on MMD period.

  43. Ok.We agree that MMD will win 2011 but not because the Zambian people want them to continue, no, they are bullshit. Its us the people who have a serious problem.Imagine that people want a person like Sata to rule in preference to HH. This makes me doubt the reasoning capacity of most folks in this country. The only Credentials Sata has are that (1) .He is Bemba by tribe (2). He is very old (or experienced as you may want to put it in Zambia). And (3.) Because he is able to insult. Otherwise, for a normal Zambian who is even able to participate on this blog, this issue should not even bother us, HH is far better than Sata in all angles that you may want to evaluate the two. Please fellow Zambians, if we want our country to prosper please let us stop digging out dinosaurs to rule us. We…

  44. PEOPLE YOU SHOULD LIMIT YOURSELVES TO THE TOPIC

1 UPND IS BEING PROFESSIONAL BY ASKING PF TO CONSIDER AN M.O.U AS THE PACT PREPARES TO GET INTO PLOT ONE. TO ME AN M.O.U IS VITAL
2 REMEMBER THAT IN ENGLAND IT WAS THE # 3 PARTY THE HELD THE KEY TO WHICH PARTY SHOULD GET POWER. IN OUR ZAMBIAN CHAPTER, IF UPND DRIFTED TO MMD FOR A PACT THEN PF IS DOOMED.
3 HH IS ALREADY SET FOR VICE AND POSSIBLY PLOT 1 IN 2016 BUT PF WANTS TO APPROACH THIS BIG TASK AHEAD LIKE IT IS HIS FARM HE WANTS RUN THROUGH PACT

  45. A debate should be ensued between Sata and HH for us to choose a proper pact candidate. We want a person who will articulate issues that are affecting the nation with passion.Let this debate be broadcast live on ZNBC.From that point, people will be able to decide the best candidate for the PACT.The interviewers should be independent journalists who are not biased.I feel as electorates,we can burry this issue of pact presidency by subjecting our two candidates to interviews.
It is true UPND has had no proper coverage from both private and public media.POST has been declared as an enemy by UPND whilst public tabloids are biased towards RB.The media has been very unfair in their coverage appertaining to UPND programmes. We,as electorates, should demand a fair playing field.

  46. some provinces can never vote for sata neither can I. so PF will be shocked if at all they think they have a chance on their own. viva HH

  47. The problem for pact is PF does not have any manifesto as such, they can not submit any to the negotiatition table. So UPND acknowledged this short comming of the SATA. They have also realised SATA has no programme to offer but to escort him to state house. HH tried his best to make sata understand, what is better for the country. At this point, there was no negotiation of the pact president even though, UPND knew SATA will be chosen because of his rumerical support base. Sata in all his campigns, he has not mentioned UPND accept when the two parties was announced pact .conditions was meant to tell sata that you have no knowledge to be president of zambia. And his lack of education will destroy this country, further down the line.!!! He made a mistake. Even PF is aware of this mistake

  48. PF+UPND=70%Zambian Solution
    PF-UPND=MMD
The two need each other for benefit of all of us, so let not PF and UPND compete against each other.
    SATA+HH=STATEHOUSE
SATA-HH=RUPIAH BWEZANI BANDA AT STATE HOUSE AGAIN
So what science are you using to think either PF or UPND can survive without each other?

  49. n# 55. Observer.
You dont have to waste time choosing who can well represent you between SATANA n young HH. It is all clear to people that HH is the MAN to take us forward according to his symbol. A normal person like you sounded do not need to panic when choosing between the 2. HH is the person we will go for. The kaponyas can also do what they believe in….Sharp!!!

  50. Remember that our rural dwellers will be given sugar and cooking oil plus a T- Shirt and Chitenge material and one bag of fertilizer using public funds.

  51. This time am gpoing for HH. SATA is too old to represent me. He worked for zambia and that’s enough. Go HHHHHHHHHHHHHHH we are behind you all the way.

  52. I think the delusion of bemba superiority is the major drive for the blind support the characterises the PF supporters.

  53. I hate this country. Imagine that RB is now even thinking that he is a good candidate and best man for this country just because of a fragmented opposition! where is 50% + 1 please we would have gotten rid of these gosts.

  54. HH be patient. PF is more stronger than UPND in terms of public support nationally. This is unfortunately the bitter pill HH has to swallow and no.60 plus others. The truth pains and you will be at pains to accept such facts. This time around SATA will be your President come September 2011 Elections.

  55. The issues raised by UPND can not be overemphasised. They are real and practical. A country like Zambia needs an elaborate and well planned and documented Roadmap in order to see development. In the absence of a clear Manifesto/ constitution and marshal plan then forget about Development. It is this fact that has always worried me when i look at PFas an alternative. This Party is never inspiring as it has no credible pipo in its ranks and file who can help run this country to development. They equally have no tools ie Manifesto, constitutions, organisational framework, memebrship cards etc. Decisions in this party are made through daydreaming and hullucinations in the discredited Post Newspaper. UPND on the other hand has all those requirements and tools. Hence the pact is of oil and water

  56. john phiri #12 what is a MMD? do you think there is something wise in MMD for UPND to pact with them?
HH and Sata can you sit down and tel us the truth early befor we are sold by this ba mukukulu ba mmd ku tu ma cioncioli twatintika amenso kwati bale tulepula fye amenso no tu razor. dnt waist time plz once you will split you sell fi mmd ama votes.our hope is you ba Sata and HH.

  57. When i i was perusing through the Zambian Watchdog i came across a story on WHERE they are saying that one of the opposition leaders uses wichcraft in his dealings.
Being a christian i did not take this serious. However, even in the bible this SATAN act is mentioned. No wonder most of the supporters of this opposistion leader including a named private newspaper editor look and think as though they are mad and have no brains. This explains why some parties in Zambia have no manifesto and constitution. They think you can develop a country with wichcraft. This is not possible and will never happen. Not even winning elections using wichcraft. God can not allow this SATAN act to rule a christain nation like Zambia.

  58. Sata is not a stable person. I think HH is the best suited candidate for Presidend. He is young and vibrant. This is the kind of leadership that we need. The old man must step aside and allow this country to go forward.
Let his be the bigger man and put the young man forward for the purpose of progress.

  59. Isn’t amazing that people confuse pact with partnership? Pact does not imply any legally binding agreement. What you hear from some of these politicians is as mind boggling as some of the comments. UNPD remains a separate entity from PF and will remain so, even if the PF made changes being demanded by those who aren’t even members. Let’s be real as Zambians and see things as they really are. Sata will stand for president so will Hichilema under their respective party tickets. That’s the reality. Both of them qualify and are suitable, otherwise they would not be leading parties who have performed in previous elections, despite the barriers. Let’s grow up!

  60. To hell all of you saying Sata should be given a chance…..a chance to do what, spoil the country? The rest of the world is going for young leadership, this is HH’s chance Period!!

  61. Crying babes UPND at it again. Always crying ala imwe. Always you hear a UPND jim said this, tomorrow its a UPND jack said this against Sata. People are now tiered guys.

If you think PF will give you the presidency just like that you are so mistaken guys. There is no where in the world where a smaller party took the presidency from the bigger party. it will never work dears.

If really you are seroius about being in the PACT why cant you humble yourselves , than always puffing up yourselves while you are nothing?

All Zambians know that you are a smaller party , just take the vice and start compaining. Whats wrong with you crying UPND?

    NONSENSE.

  62. MMD Chief Bootlicker @ 3, Every thing that you say tamuba amano, i wonder ifyo ufunda abana bobe, and you are supporting MMD becouse the so called MMD ilefwika balupwa bobe nefitenge fyaba MMD. anyway i can encourage you to give a surpport to Banda ,becouse of him nawina nokwina! hopeless zambian.

  63. HH should leave the pact madness and start campaigning without SATA to reassure the people that he is a capable leader. Sata is using HH to gain votes. If HH continues to cling to the pact he will be out maneuvered just like Harry Mwanga Nkumbula was by Kaunda ‘s UNIP. The opposition has lost direction now and they can not be trusted. I think Sata is causing all the trouble because he wants to protect his MMD colleagues.

  64. Yesterday they said the PACT was intact today they say its dead tomorrow they say they want 50 plus 1 but HH says he cannot win without Sata but he is fielding 22 MP candidates on the CB. SATA is fielding candiates in all 150 consitutencies…..THATs good and where does that live the common man? Who do we vote for? the UPND candidate or the PF one? Or the MMD one and never mind UNIP…OH what about Chifumu and Quack quacks party?

  65. Chanda Bwalya says: 57#r You are caught of plagiarism. This article was written by kizito..!!! This is the problem when you have limited education. Writing these comments is very simple even grade 4 in zambia can write these simple commentaries. Why are you failing to came up with your own. I am very surprised by your behaviour. SATA must demand debate with HH not RB. Why does he wants RB when he has HH to put him to rest. We want live programme for these presidential candidates…to debate their plan for the country….who ever wins must be adopted…HH is ready and SATA said is ready, so let the day set. I will contact some sponsors…for this assignment….!!!!!!

  66. The hard truth is that HH is not popular enough to lead the pact SATA is also old but more popular, the other problem is UPND supporters will not vote for Sata if he leads the Pact also PF supporters will not vote for HH. So the way to go is have a unifier for the sake of change eg Charles Milupi as a pact president then the two will be vice presidents thats if they will agree where to be housed then we can firmly say goodbye MMD.

  67. Chanda Bwalya says:
i like your name it makes you feel camfortable when you are among girls unlike your real name which is too heavy to pronuance.

  68. kizito says: tell the chap he is failing to write his own things, he is very useless.
but fitinaiwe waitaya RB is the one who demaded for a debate with SATA, ok. SATA WAS MERELY RESPONDING.

  69. Look how God has confused the opposition. Isn’t this confusion good enough sign that RB has been given another mandate. Let those who have ears hear!

  70. If there is one thing to be thankful about this nation of Zambia it is this: So far we, as a nation, have been spared from ruthless rulers, from the awfully proud who would enslave the people. Yes, we are a poor nation, which could probably be better off with certain steps but the fact that we have been spared from ruthless Dictators is something to be thankful about. Let PEACE REIGN, may the enemies of God scatter to rise no more, may the blessings of God over-take this nation AMEN

  71. Ur Opinion Victor , is good. HH Should let Sir Michael go for President for one term, after the first term HH assumes the Presidency. They party should sign an agreement in front of the Zambian people at a Mammoth public Rally.

  72. sHIMUMBA continue dreaming….RB will win, he hasnt done badly tho,2016 HH will win, i DONT KNOW when your sata will win???? RB ni moto

  73. The humble will truly inherit the earth while the arrogant and proud will carry heaps of hot coal on their heads. With time all people will see this, the Glory of Israel, the blessings of YESU.

    Hear all ZAMBIA!

May His face shine upon RB, May God Almighty prove himself true, May Wisdom AND Peace mark RB’s rule. may his enemies be confounded and scatter to the PRAISE OF ALMIGHTY GOD AMEN AND AMEN!

  74. I wonder why we have failed to see that politics is all about numbers and not quality. No matter how many degrees or intelligent you are if you have no support ,you can never win an election.
Objectivity ia another issue,i was in support of HH at one point but numbers can not support, and if really MMD has failled let SATAN start first .Clearly he is more popular and sellable than HH.

  75. @ 75 = If really you are seroius about being in the PACT why cant you humble yourselves , than always puffing up yourselves while you are nothing?

    > Are you even anything yourself? tekanya once brainy always will be, what puffiing? i wander how your complete head can’t see that those are genuine concerns that need to worked out. thats the problem – too much pushing wheelbarrows!

  76. GLORY IN THE HIGHEST , THE NAME OF THE LORD REIGNS , SEE HOW THE WICKED LIE FALLEN NEVER TO RISE AGAIN.

WILL THEIR gods SERVE THEM? NAY TOGETHER THEY WILL BE LAID TO REST JACKALS TO DEVOUR.

GLORY IN THE HIGHEST PEACE ON EARTH, SELAH

  77. he has now realized he cant win alone:

Sata called on all opposition political parties to form one pact and avoid attacking one another, a trend he said negated their efforts to form government. “The more we continue bickering, the more Zambians are suffering. So far, the UPND and PF are very intact but we need Brigadier General Godfrey Miyanda, Edith Nawakwi, Cosmo Mumba because what we are all fighting for as the opposition is to liberate the country,” Sata said.

  78. ZAMBIANS are our number one pact partners, says PF leader Michael Sata.
Featuring on a paid-for programme on Iso FM Community Radio Station on Sunday, Sata said although the PF-UPND Pact was still intact, the most important pact was with the Zambians.

    REALLY!! I WONDER

  79. These days whether in UK,USA,CANADA,or elsewhere numbers are the only thing that matters.Whether in business,or personal life lets face it someone with more numbers is respected and honoured and not just intelligency or wisdom per say.
This is reality which a normal person knows.I just remember at one of the interviews i was one of the interviwers ,there was this young man with a degree in business administration,MBA and degree in economics while the other one had only a diploma in business administration. The all team of interviewers chose the man with only a diploma who demanded even a little more .The Many reason was his track record of customer acquistion was impressive and undoubtiful..we are still with him in the company doing extremely well.

  80. Word, Amen. we need prayer to break down the evil that satana and membe want to bring to our Christian nation. Zambia is blessed and the Lord will never allow these eveil people to take power

  81. MAY THE CURSES OF THE EVIL ONE RETURN TO HIM A THOUSAND FOLD WHILE THE LORD APPORTIONS BLESSINGS TO HIS ANOINTED.

GLORY GLORY GLORY ALL I SEE IS GLORY

  82. Numbers ,numbers, numbers numbers, and i always say” ADDITION is better that SUBTRACTRION”

whether you like it or not SATAN IS MORE POPULAR THAN HH

and in politics a leader is supposed to be flexable and not stagnant.

  83. The pact is just a bundle of bullshiters. I can’t support you anymore. You don’t seem to want to uproot the MMD. You are all too selfish and for now I believe that even if you came into power be it Sata or HH at the helm, you would not come to serve the people of Zambia but your own selfish egos. This nonsense has been going on for too long and I don’t see anything coming out of it. Maybe it’s high time I started looking at RB’s positive side and I might just go for the man.

Pact you are a damn big let down. You have just lost a potential voter in me. CIAO!!!!

  84. #21. You forgot some more facts. Fact. God does not bless evil prayers. There is a lot of hate in the wishes of the Post and PF. They are basically evil people no matters how you may want to clean them. The evil spirit from the devil is probably working in you for you to see good in pipo who wish for bad things on other pipo. As always, the good spirit of God shall deliver us from evil. We shall triumph as always, AMEN.

  85. SATANA will never rule this country. The kaponyas will be in rude chock after next elections. ni HHHHHHHHHHH chabe….or RB. SATANA can extend his term until death. he doesn’t want to be challenged.

  86. BOBO correct, in a free democracy, its the numbers that counts. UPND supporters must come to their sences which HH knows as at one time some time last year he said that the people in UPND should not fool him that he can win the elections on his own. HH is a graduate and I hope and play that he know the rule of democracy numbers, numbers and numbers. When you enter into a PACt you must understand that you must be ready to accept a lesser share of power if your contribution to the pact is smaller. Its like you enter into a business deal where one contributes K2 m and another K5 m and after making a profit of K2m the person with a lesser contribution says lets share the profit at K1m and K1m, no the person with a larger share must get a bigger share of the profit. Grow up ba grade seven imwe

  87. This time we should work towards removing the mmd from power.if you hate sata to hell with you.and if you hate hichilema to hell with you too. All we need is these guys to join hands and remove the mmd from power that’s all.now logic beats sense. If sata is put president by the pact we will win and if hichilema is put president he will be the runners up to RB but very close to rb.

  88. I would be confused with UPND statements if I did not know that the Pact was a non-starter from inception or is it conception?

  89. UPND, i agree with you Sata is NOt a suitable leader. My question is why do you insisit on being in pact with him then?

Leave the snake to deal with affairs of snakes, pay no attention to it.

  90. OUT OF THE 107 COMMENTS SO FAR 20 ARE IN FAVOUR OF ONLY 20 ARE IN FAVOUR OF SATA HH HAS 81% IF IAM TO EXTRAPOLATE AND COMPUTE THIS TO THE 12MILLION ZAMBIANS MY GRAPH WILL SHOW THAT HH WILL HAVE AN EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE THIS YEAR. LET US NOT VOTE FOR A PERSON JUST LOOK AT THE CALIBRE OF THE PERSON. SO FAR HH IS THE MOST FAVOURED CANDIDATE AND THE DEMANDS UPND ARE MAKING ARE CARDINAL TO GOOD GOVERNANCE OF ANY NATION OR ORGANISATION . IF PF CANT AGREE TO TO SUCH CORES THEN IAM AFRAID AND I PITY CADRES LIKE ONE john phiri who are not well informed. THERE ARE JUST TWO POSSIBLE HYPOTHESIS I DRAW FROM ALL THIS STAND OFF AND DISAGREEMENT ,ITS EITHER PF WANTED TO RIDE ON HH AND TAKE HIS SP,WP,NWP, CP,CB RURAL AND LSK PERIURBAN POPULARITY OR THE TONGAZ HAVE OUTSMARTED SATA THIS TIME

  91. This is a newyear all those with negative thots must stop being negative and focus on what’s best for our country. We must make our country a better place for our children
. Each one of us must stand up and say kuyabebe.

  93. #115, PF have no manifesto and no party membership cards, they are a document free environmentally concious party. The only way to understand any policy they may have, if any, is to decipher by gazing at the cobras arse.

  96. The only chance HH will ever have of ruling Zambia is thru a pact with PF,if he goes to MMD his chances will be back to zero as nobody in MMD will allow him anywhere near the presidency, there have been so many candidates in MMD RB was an importee, they wouldn t like to have another outsider again,so checkmate UPND:(

  97. Have you ever considered about adding a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is valuable and all. However just imagine if you added some great photos or videos to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and video clips, this blog could certainly be one of the best in its niche. Wonderful blog!
