Government dishes out K11billion

Share

Government has disbursed K11billion to 6 tertiary institutions in the country.

The funds have been drawn under the government financed TEVETA fund.

Among the recipient institutions, the Evelyn Hone College got the biggest chunk of K3billion while Kabwe Trades institute was allocated K900 million.

This came to light during the signing ceremony of the service level agreement between the Ministry of Science and Technology and Technical Education Vocational Entrepreneurship Training Authority-TEVETA.

Science Minister Peter Daka said the fund is intended to sustain financing for the TEVETA system and to enhance skills training in public tertiary institutions.

And TEVETA Board Chairperson Wammulume Kalabo thanked government for providing the funds.

  1. RB Keep on planting the foundations. We want more and more. Naturally, we expect others to be critical for this good investment – all in the name of disdain

In the last 2 years, Zambia has not experienced such level of Back to Routine Investment in the last 20 Years. The rest is down to us Zambians to work hard and create innovations when we come out of these Colleges, Technical Education & Vocational Entrepreneurship Training. Until when we start thinking, attempting, then the nation will become progressive.

Africa is no longer a Dark Continent. We have access to information from all over the world via Internet Technology that can help us use our resources to become inspired, creative and inventive.

MMD, PF or UPND Supporters – “Lets all aim to make a difference” despite of different Political Affiliations or in some case just none

Others have become part of the nation that just wants to sit back and blame everything on the politicians. Even the laziest people – will go round blaming and making excuses.

Your execitiment over nothing reminds me how a tolddler reacts when it sees candy.

Oh really – So you are better off having nothing invested into these learning Dilapidating Institutions. Don’t you know that 1 is better than 0 in terms of Money Matters. With such kind of thinking like yours – Zambia cannot have progress. Our nation will not just wake up one day and find every thing is developed. It takes a good foundation and climbing the ladder of progression gradually.

If PF or UPND was in power today and had invested K11 Billion in colleges, they would be commended and praised as well.

I am assuming you got some level of your education in Zambia, so why cant you think of the New Generation behind you that is passing through the same Learning Institution that you went through. Or you may end up having a relative benefiting from such investment.

Sorry I don’t know the meaning of the word “ EXECITIMENT”

And by the way some of us we preach the gospel by showing examples and encouraging others to reach for the sky no matter what sort of background they come from. It’s the Spirit of Fulfilling Dreams

you are a typical KAPONYA. What is wrong with the Government funding these colleges.
okay, I forgot, unless PF did this then it would sound good in your ears. imwe ba ngwele, if RB said we will pay the fees for all college students for the next 5 years, “Teti Musekelemo” translated in English. “you still would not be happy or appreciate it”

the red card is on you this year… Satana will retire from politics this year. ask Wynter Kabinda he knows that its over. i am friends with his half brother and he tells me.

  8. Ba Independent Observer-My wife works for health min.2/3 weeks the min.announced that it has received billions to clear whatever it owes health min.workers-but today thursday,3 rd march 2011 my wife was told there s no money to pay her what the min.owes and dont forsee receiving funds in the near future-and this is a hide and seek game goes on at this min.all the time.So when this govt.makes annoucements like the one above which has excited pro diehard MMD/RB chaps like u i take it with a pinch of salt, all this is election yr and they are desperate, very desperate.

  9. I was at Evelyn Hone as a student some years ago but what i fail to grasp are the motives of the current and past governments, not only pertaning to TEVETA institutions but other aspects of life in Zambia generally. The realisation that they have to fund these institutions in year that elections are held(if my memory serves me right, students complained about the state of hostels not so long ago)does not show seriousness in dealing with issues that affect the country. It is managing a case symptomatically rather than finding out what is causing the the symptoms.I rest my case.

Why then are u spending sleepless nights over Sata? Everyday the state media has an ANTI SATA story, yet small chaps like are always screaming that the man is a non-event!!!!!

Buull*Shiit, your wife is a liar. you have just made up this story. i work in “Central Government” and currently studying for my ACCA in the UK. i know so much about how funds are distributed to all ministries and which departments owes money. this money is for future programs. don’t start something that you have no knowledge of, such as bringing in your wife. you would sell your wife for a dime.dont reduce her to Kaponya’s mentality, she is suppose to be your temple.

Not so fast… maybe you are the one that is stuck and this is a reflection of your mid-life crisis you are going through. i am doing very fine. well even the Post has ANT RB, so I guess its even.

the issue here is that the money will help students. its you who cannot sleep over sata loosing his grip. i am cool and I know RB will win.

  14. Ba Kasumba-Lesa-since u claim that u work 4 central govt.call ndeke friday morning .and ask if the min.is paying those it owes money-i repeat my wife was disappointed this morning after promisin to pay her today. As i said earlier on as elections draw nearer this govt.will say/make all sort of promises to excite small chaps like u.
    Bye i am done with u !!!

You do not understand how government works. the money that goes to salaries and projects as the ones mentioned, does not come from the same basket. Just like, if you work in a company, after the budget, you will have sub-accounts that hold Expenses Funds, Salaries Funds, Training, Development, Pension Funds…etc

The K11Billion will be paid to projects and not wages. Your wife, she needs to wait until the funds are ready. In your house-hold you probably have a budget and you put aside money for food, education, bills, savings, emergencies, retirement … etc. same principals

  16. Imwe naimwe ba keneth chipungu why insiting pipo to vote kalu out. ni jelousy ati ali winner pa caf? I remember ur comments before elections whn u needed him to come and beg for you for support for caf elections which he never did and he won by unexpeeted margin.
Supporse they remove him and the kamanga/ simata group also fail to perform what ar you going to do? remove them also? u should learn to find solutions othr than passing a vote of no confidence. Mwanya elections mu september ninshi mwaya, kalu stil have another 4 years at caf. if zambia fail to perform the pipo u want to be put in faz offices wll also go in march next year.
