A total number of 8 Provincial UPND leaders in Western Province yesterday defected to Patriotic Front (PF).
This was disclosed by Patriotic Front National Chairperson Inonge Wina in Mongu .
Mrs. Wina said a group of UPND top Provincial leaders which was lead by Induna Imbwae Imikendo included Kanz Mundia UPND Provincial Chairman, Cornel Makumba trustee, David Muzinda Provincial Vice Chairman, Miss Inonge Mubuyaeta Provincial Chairlady, Miss Rosemary Munalula provincial Vice Secretary and Publicity Secretary Teddy Chimbinde.
She said the eight former leaders defected from UNPD because they were not consulted by Mr. Hakainde before he decided to pull out of the Pact adding that they agree with Professor Clive Chira’s proposal of sharing positions according to the formula of 60% and 40% allocation of parliamentary seats and that Mr. Sata be President of the pact.
Mrs. Wina further said that the former UPND leaders felt that PF is stronger and more popular on the ground than the UPND saying their joining the Patriotic front will enhance the chances of removing MMD from power.
She also said that about 153 United Party for National Development (UPND) party cards were surrendered to PF.
Mrs. Wina has also called on the People of Western Province to join hands with the PF regardless of their party affiliations to enable Mr. Sata win this year’s tripartite elections.
She encouraged all the people who have defected to PF and others who have indicated to follow suit to feel at home.

If popularity of a party is a reason for joining it, then we are in line for an Adolf Hitler. People must believe in their principles and policies and not just jump on the wagon because there are a lot of people on it. The world is prospered by the minority and not the majority, otherwise more people would be rich and few poor. The poor are in the majority because they are usually wrong in their views.
I’m really amazed. May be I’m just in denial? May be Sata can win after all!! At first I was skeptical, but I’m just realising that this has never happened in Western Province of mass defections at usch high level, because these are the very highest UPND offices in Western Province. I would like to believe that SATA and PF manifesto may be very difficult to understand because the PF leadership is unclear in all their communication.
Just like they have left everyone guessing about many things including homosexuality. We will need an interpretor to interpret the clauses in the PF manifesto and nay interpretation is a mere approximation because even the PF themselves are never commited to what they say. This why they make sure all they say remain vague so that there is room for escape. SATA is never commited to what he says.

Where are the monitors if votes were to be miscounted. Only PF sees wrong figures, the rest of the monitors never raise any disparity.
PF’s Wynter Kabimba made 13 accusations on vehicles carrying rigging material and in all of them the PF cadres took charge, guarded and searched these vehicles. And in none of these cases did they find any evidence of rigging at all.
What what does the PF see, visions?
Enough about beating about the bush. No sane Lozi person can entrust a Bemba with anything. So to say that Western will vote for Sata is mare dilusion. I like to be objective in the way i perceive things, i dont want to be rational. I want to concur with the sentiments of No. 68, the Saint. It is said that sometimes the majority may not necessarily be correct or right in the way they make decisions. What realy worries me is the fact that the PF have never ever really articulated economic issues which can convince me that they can deliver if elected into government. If the MMD is removed, so what? But again, what next? They have never espoused what really they will do to alleviate the sufferings of the common pipo. Where are the PF think-tanks who can articulate economic issues please. What is it that PF will do when in Govt? I am tired of just mere politicking and denouncing the MMD.
Since the corrupse of the pact, Kalusa has suddenly kept quiet-it could be true that he was on the MMD payroll bring confusion in the pact as some1 on this blog had mentioned-he must be busy chewing MMD dirty money now that the mission has been acoplisd!

Sata lost the elections in 2008. Let’s stop the culture being bad losers. In Zambia if you lose elections then the elections were rigged; if you win, then they were not rigged. You have never been to all parts of Western province for you to dispute the votes that came from some of the areas. So were the votes rigged for Sata in Northern province?? Let’s engage in more constructive discussion rather than always crying victim. If you want to win put forward more credible candidates for election. You may love Sata to death as a leader, but others love other leaders and don’t like Sata. Hand over leadership, Sata told
PATRIOTIC Front (PF)president Michael Sata must hand over leadership of the party to Christians because his stance on homosexuality is against the declaration of Zambia as a Christian nation, a former diplomat has said.
Ambassador Enock Chikamba said in an interview on March 22 that if Mr Sata does not accept to give up leadership, PF members who do not agree with his support for homosexuality should join other political parties.
“Those who are true Christians in the PF should leave and join MMD, UPND or even FDD instead of supporting a leader whose stance goes against the laws of the Bible,” he said.
Mr Chikamba said he fears that if Mr Sata became head of State, he would remove the clause on Zambia being a Christian nation and give prominence to homosexuality.
He said Zambians must be grateful to former republican President Frederick Chiluba for declaring Zambia as a Christian nation because citizens are guided by the principles of Christianity.
Mr Chikamba said the Bible, in Leviticus chapter 20 verse 15, clearly stipulates that those who support such vices should be condemned to death.
He called on the Church to stand firm and condemn those who support things that are ungodly.
He said according to 2 Corinthians chapter 6 verse 14, the body is a temple of God, and cannot be subjected to homosexuality.
Mr Chikamba said even chiefs are against homosexuality, adding that such practices are unheard of in a village set-up, where he lived for many years.
He said Mr Sata’s stance puts the Catholic Church in a difficult position, and challenged the church to come out in the open and condemn Mr Sata.

Do you know that schools in Livingstone were taught Lozi until Kaunda banned it in 1972 as way to please Tongas to join his evil one party state project? Do you know that the so called Mukuni Park was initially known as Barotse Park? In 1906 the Litunga Lubosi Lewanika was invited to the commissioning of the victoria falls bridge. He went with Lozi carvers who took with them their wares to go and sell. All the merchandise was sold whereupon they asked the colonial authorities to reserve the spot for them for trading. It became known as Barotse Park. Kaunda changed it to Mukuni Park without due consideration to the history.

When mandela became president of South Africa, the only experience he had was prison life but the man proved selfless and was loved by all South Africans.
