Thursday Faz AGM Round-Up

Share

Here are Thursday highlights as momentum builds towards Saturdays FAZ annual general meeting.

-Faz has confirmed that the AGM will go ahead at Moba Hotel in Kitwe executive committee member and head of the publicity subcommittee Miles Sampa said.

This follows speculation that government had ordered AGM moved to Lusaka.

-Fifa says Zambia risks ban should National Sports Council of Zambia interfere in the venue of the Faz AGM.

“Faz alone is responsible to organize the AGM and thus to decide on its venue and date,”FIFA director of associations Thierry Regenass said in an official letter to Faz president Kalusha Bwalya dated March 18.

“Should the NSCZ or any other authorities impose different views, FIFA would seize its emergency committee in order to sanction the government interference which could go as suspension of FAZ. It is therefore important that you inform the said authorities of the FIFA position.”

-Simataa Simataa will attend the Faz AGM after the appeals committee today overturned his suspension after asking Faz’s bankers to freeze its accounts at the height of the impasse.

“The fact that the disciplinary committee did not consider the peculiar situation which prevailed at the time was therefore a misdirection, the events do cause us to give the benefit of doubt to the appellant,” appeals committee chairman William Nyirenda said.

“We allow this appeal and restore the appellant’s full rights under the FAZ constitution.”

-The Faz Electoral College will comprise 223 members.
Making up the electoral college will be five national associations and nine provincial associations.

Clubs will comprise the remaining places while 47 provisional non-voting members are also expected to attend the FAZ AGM.

-The Kamanga faction will on Friday hold a consultative meeting with Faz councilors in Ndola.

  1. I wonder why they always suspend Simaata then they are made to look f.o.o.lish by tbe appeals committe some one tell me what knid of Lawyer this Kasolo we read about is, has he even got clints at his law firm because he is a disgrace to LAZ. People go and remove that so called kalusha we are just feed up with the all nonsence otherwise we such call upon the UN to use that 1973 thing to come and bombe the hell out of football housre.

  2. My GREAT one will succeed whatever what!! In you Great Kalu, I believe!! all the best as you preside over the AGM and dont forget to crap the whip!!

  3. Awe mu Zambia mwaliba drama.ZNBC 1900hrs main news as at today the 24th of March 2011 says AGM has been moved to LUSAKA,so which is which?

  4. Eric Mwanaza sholud go he makes us have bad dreams each time we see his picture in the papers honestly Zambia can do bettet!

  5. What has kalu done that you vent this devil like hatred on him?Chipungu you are a useless minister. Mulonga you are too useless. Chifumu Banda why have you changed the venue? We have head from the mbacile znbc that the venue has been changed to lusaka and MOBI TV.is just reporting that faz says ,’The venue still remains the same.’ Kwene paZAMBIA that’s when we’re being ruled by dog like people .ln all areas. VIVA KALU….!

  6. I am not sure why we are so scared of the so called action to be taken by FIFA. At the stage of our game now, why should we even worry about what FIFA wants to do against our FAZ. We need to pick up our game, so if FIFA says stay away, it will just help us. FIFA is busy thriving on threats and we are playing straight into their arms. We need to streamline the beautiful game. It must start with the way we administer. No hidden agendas please, just the love of the game. Lets do what is right for ourselves not for FIFA!!

  7. Zambians should learn to respect the laws in place. Demanding grt kalu to be removed is more like demanding the legally elected mmd govt out before its term expires. Let all zambians rise and refuse this kind of barbaric and criminal way of doing things . In fact some of our ministers are so jilterly on kalu because of his personal successes.we should not allow nscz to be pushing our faz this manner likely to put our football in disarray by fifa. Viva kalu viva rb.

  8. #8 I do not agree with you but no.7 has written things as they stand hore worshping is long gone. Management of football at football house is not in order issues need to be corrected now or never!

  9. I see the following scenario unfolding:

The CAF and FIFA delegation will be at MOBA in Kitwe.
More than half of the delegates will be at MOBA in Kitwe.
Simata, Kamanga, Chipungu and their staff will be at Mulungushi,,,oh forgot Mazabuka united as well.
Yaba, my ribs rattle with laughter.
But in all this why cant the players air their views, after all they are the owners of the game.

  10. Sajent #8, Its Kalu who is being criminal if I may borrow one of your trems. The constitution clearly states that the Kalu executive ceased being ligitmate upon the resignation of the vice- president and other committee members. So if you are talking about the one who is being barbaric, its Kalusha and his team, not Kamanga.

  11. When I read the happening in Zambia, it sickens me. This thing of manipulating constitutions to suit certain individuals showed come to an end. Remember the third term for Chiluba, now I hear RB wants to change the constitution in order for him to receive early gratuity. what kind of nonsense is that?

  12. Chiluba’s third term could not succeed for obvious reasons, gratuity for HERB will succeed for obvious reasons of natural justice. Do you want your president to be a pauper? Have some sense of pride in your governance institutions.

  13. Pipo on lt educate me, is fifa alpha and omega? Doesnt zambia ve laws? Its not grz saying faz is dissolved but faz itself and its counselars. Fifa is a bunch of mafias; thats why its reasoning defies logic. These are fellows who ve been in office 4 as long as any 1 remember. Fifa is worse than gadaffi.

  14. #11 Which constitution are u refering to my friend. The FAZ constitution is silent about this issue that is why we are in this mess ,anyway i can not blame u for forgeting how it all started this issue has dragged on for long time. The guidance that was given by FIFA has been rejected by the ‘rebels’ who have jumped on a real chance to oust and humiliate Kalu .They have enlisted the support of govt and employed a relentless campaign of innuendoes and criminal allegations on Kalu and every sane Zambia just wonders why they have not taken him to the police,DEC,anti-corruption etc.because there if he has done what they claim he has done even FIFA wouldn’t save him but they know its LIES LIES LIES.!!!

  15. Bravo Fifa. I hope chi Simataa Simataa wont be given an upper hand in the meeting. That man has hijacked the whole football fraternity in Zambia. His quarrels and hatred with Kalusha now have become national agenda. Imwe bantu ico chi Simataa Simataa chijoine ma Barotse Activists. It is true what Plato said that a crowd cannot philosophise. We all being pushed around by the views of Simataa Simataa. That man is jusst a perpetual talker. Kalu is a known figure world wide. Who on the international scene knows Simataa apart from his fellow Barotse Activists.

  16. Simata, Kamanga and company are just too grid for power. 2012 is just round the corner, why do you need to make a short cut. Learn to co exist stop behaving like the foolish politicians who thinks everything the opposing side does is bad. Kalus admn has made som mistakes, a fact, but you do not need to treat him like devil. You have behaved like you are an Angel. YOU WILL NEVER BE: YOU ARE MORE THEN DEVILS: Simata you were given a chance but you childishly and cowardly chickened out. Who makes you agenius? Once upon a time I thought you could be relied on as an asset in football admn but I think I was wrong, you can go to HELL.
