Works and supply minister Gabriel Namulambe has dispelled assertions by Patriotic Front leader Michael Sata that the company contracted to work on the Mumbwa-landless corner road was awarded the contract through corrupt means.

Recently, Patriotic Front leader Michael Sata demanded an urgent review of road contracts, blaming president Rupiah Banda and Nchelenge Member of Parliament Ben Mwila for the failed Mumbwa Landless corner road project.

It is alleged that the project was awarded to Wade Adams, a laboratory testing company belonging to Mr Mwila who is believed to have failed to perform.

Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka today, Mr. Namulambe, who expressed ignorance on the awarding of the contract to Mr. Mwila’s company, says regardless of who is awarded the contract, it should be understood that contracts are awarded to the best evaluated bidder.

Mr. Namulambe says the auditor general is at liberty to audit the whole contract awarding process to ascertain if there were irregularities.

Meanwhile Mr Namulambe who is also MMD chairman for elections says some individuals in the party who have not been adopted have found it hard to accept because they had bribed some people prior to the adoption process.

Mr. Namulambe says what is happening in the party following the adoption process is normal.

He has told Journalists in Lusaka today that unsuccessful candidates will cry out but that the ruling party’s national executive committee will not rescind its decision because it’s final.

Mr. Namulambe wonders how genuine those members of the party rejecting the adopted candidates are noting that genuine party members would not dispute any decision made by the NEC.

And Mr. Namulambe, who is also Mpongwe Member of Parliament says with the 42, 000 voters in his area, he will convincingly retain the seat contrary to media reports that he has been rejected.

  1. I hope he will after the polls and MMD is no longer in power be summoned to restate the same statement. Since he is ignorant of the contract, I would rather he just shut up as opposed to issuing such an incriminating statement.

  2. Is this the wanker who was boasting that being a minister is very sweet. Has he just lost his virginity as well? Get a real job you wanker instead of defending the indefensible!

  3. Corrumption in the Road sector is not just on that particular Mumbwa road. Just go to the RDA and look at the calibre of contractors during bid openings, you will no doubt understand how the purpoted company owners are just used. This corrupt regime which wants to fight corruption that they cannot see seems to think we all are dull. We will bring you down Dora!!!

  4. Sata complains about everything, if the contract was given to a Chinese company, he was going to make noise about it, and now that the contract is given to a Zambian company, he is calling it corruption. It is not possible to please Satan.

  5. The people have spoken. I wonder how many MPs read these blogs. MMD you are dead your leader is a self loving, thieving, CORRUPT, CONNIVING, good for nothing dictator wannabe son of a…. I think you get the idea. Vote this f00l out this year.

    • I wonder how many Zambians have internet, the majority of voters dont see your PF comments and they appreciate what RB is doing, they don’t even read the biased Post. The other bad thing is that you are not even in Zambian and you are not voting. I honestly dont see Sata winning

  6. The bum calls for a press brief and he is clueless about the topic at hand. Why is it that when people are appointed Ministers, they think they have extraordinary intelect, when they are just average joes.

  7. In his next life I hope that RB comes back as a pimple or a boil so that I can squeeze the sh1t out of him.

  8. Sata should have been more specific, which road contract does he want reviewed? honestly, was he asking for all contracts to be reviewed since 1964 or what?

  9. What is the similarity between Amy Winehouse and Frederick Chiluba? They were both junkies and both died instantly in 2011 from their afflictions. To society, their demise was good riddance!

  10. All these contracts are highly questionable no open tender whatsoever end result is shamble jobs being done that will require to be redone at the tax payers expense.

  11. “Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka today, Mr. Namulambe, who expressed ignorance on the awarding of the contract to Mr. Mwila’s company”
IF YOU CALL A MEDIA BRIEFING, EXPRESSING IGNORANCE IS NOT COOL.

  12. What we should all be saying to RBish is, “ufisanji mamabala iwe?????” I suggest we all start singing this on Fridays at mid day – “Ufisanji mambala iwe, ufisanji mambala iwe”, then we blow the car horns, then end with the same chorus!!!

  13. SATA is very correct on this one, ala this man never stops to amaze me he has data every where even though he is not an Engineer he knows what happened. Pipo that road is divided in two sections or lots lot 1 is given to BY company called wade adams, this company has never done a road before, their business is laboratory testing of road materials, drilling boreholes etc lot 2 is given to China henan. The chinese are well ahead on schedule, BY is 3 months behind schedule and he doesnt know what he is doing, The consultants on the road have no say to BY company whenever they write letters to RDA , the client is toothless, so far the Engineers have recommended termination of the lot 1 contract but RDA hasnt responded because it involves big fishes and so they fear their jobs wud be lost.

  14. #14, hope the masses will not think you are referring to the serpent. the phrase was meant to question what the cobra was hiding by chasing public media away from his so called ‘convention’ where he nominated his team without anyone casting even a single vopte.

  15. Another 5 years of this Govt. and that fart RB, all these irregularities and thieving will be the norm…this is our money they’re wasting!!!

  16. morning fellow bloggers, that is the main job of the opposition,to question anything we suspect as dubious.i tell u if sata was not there sembe muno ni christmas to these people.

  17. I wonder what Zambia would be like if Rabish was given another term of office! As for Namulambe, he should not get so excited because we know how he was suffering in Luanshya after he was fired from his ministrial position.

  18. This chap is dull for a Minister does not know a bi of what he is talking about

  19. This fool has just accepted there party is corrupt, if the party is corrupt can they fight corruption when again chitumbuwa RB is saying there is no corruption in ZAmbia?
some candidates had brided to be adopted. Sh.iiiits bafikala mwanya ur packing your balls this year.

  20. MR SATA RAISED A GOOD POINT AND SOME PEOPLA ARE CALLING HIM NAMES, THE MAN HAS PLAYED HIS ROLE AND THAT IS TO OFFER CHECKS TO MMD GOVERNMENT. IMAGINE IF WE HAD ONLY THE LIKES OF SIULAPWA AND SAKWIBA IN THE OPPOSITION, THE MMD WOULD BE JUST SLEEPING,BUT THEY ARE WARY OF THE OPPOSITION LEADER. EVEN IF YOU WILL NOT VOTE HIM GIVE CREDIT WHERE IT IS DUE. WHEN YOU ARE INCHARGE OF A PARTICULAR GROUP OF PEOPLE YOU WILL AGREE WITH ME THAT YOU CAN PERFORM VERY WELL WHEN THERE ARE CRITICS WITHIN, BECAUSE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO WATCH YOUR OWN MOVES WHETHER THEY MORALLY RIGHT OR NOT. I KNOW WHAT AM TALKING ABOUT, I SUPERVIRE MORE THAN 150 PEOPLE AND CRITICS ARE THERE. THEY SHAPE ME.

  21. GOLDEN WORDS
“The world suffers alot. Not because of the violence of bad people,; But because of the silence of good people!”

  22. Namulambe can you please tell who is supposed to tarmac the road to Landless Mumbwa Road. I came from there and there is nothing on the ground. Tell us. Shikapwasha is another sleeping person, nowaunder I am going to vote for don.t kubeba. Tell us, when the road will be completed, I come from Keembe.

  23. I made the mistake of using that road before many years ago, really useless. How long do these things take? MMD wankers :-)

  24. Iwe kabolala Nalubambe, was this a public tender and when was it advertised and in which media? These millions of dollars you are sharing in the name of “road resurfacing” will soon haunt you and please be forewarned that it will not persecution and but prosecution stealing from Zambians. Corruption is just too rampant in MMD as if the late President Levy MHSRIP never even made it a number one enemy. Surely, we fought UNIP because of development stagnation, we are removing MMD out of power because of deceipt, corruption, bad governance and over staying. But the crimes of corruption shall be expressly persued. Viva Sata viva PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

  25. can u let the young man work…when MMD is doing well there always too many chaps yapn anyhow..

  26. tHIS BOY NAMULAMBE COST ZAMBIA THE ALLFRCAN GAMES WHEN HE WAS MINISTER OF SPORTS AND MOVED TO STATE HOUSE UNDER RB.HE IS THE ONE WHO TOLD THE PRESIDENT TO PULL OUT OF THE HOSTING OF THE GAMES.HE IS SUCH A FOOLISH CHAP
