  1. #1 Lost and confused PF cadre as usual. You think this was just done for elections? These projects were planned during the Late President Mwanawasa and RB has just executed the plan to perfection. And for your own information these structures you see are going up in every district across the country and what you see above is a just a tip of the iceberg.

Learn to appreciate where something is being done. You don’t even know what the people of shangombo have gone through. All you think about is to get your heart sick serpent into Plot 1. Please spare the nation another presidential funeral.

  2. what is development…go back to school MMD??? YOUR TIME IS UP…KUYABEBELE…. RB RAN FROM MONGU??? WOMEN CRIED WHEN HIS MOTOR CADE WAS PASSING…THE MAN RUN AWAY…YOUR TIME IS UP YOU MUDERER….VOTE PF

  3. oh shangombo, rediscovered when vera with her hope foundation visited the area and then abrakadabra, the district was lost only to resurface during election times since 1996. those structures look good but its a bit too late to give you a vote ba MMD

  4. #4 Did you just forget to go to the toilet before you blogged or just decided to bog on the site? So what is development to you. You expect a car manufacturing plant in Shangombo in 90 days under your PF? Let get serious sometimes, please. Can Sata show us any development he did for people in this area when he was Minister of Health?

  5. If that is what construction is all about, I am a constructor

Terrible work. The country has no proper contractors, a hospital looks from outside as though chickens are to be kept in them

Anyone who aspires to still go back to Zambia one day and live , when I am shading shoulders with whites, great weather good neighbours is serious deluded

    Thanks

  6. Nice developments there.FRA should see to it that their depot are of acceptable food handling & storage standards. Those poor structures look like a place where rodents feast on the maize thats for human consumption. You wouldn’t find an export market for that food in western countries with that kind of poor food safety standards as they will impose high safety standards for you to gain an export permit.

  7. Don`t worry in Zambia we have closed all nation milling companies so this maize you see here will soon be in local beer breweries deportee and we all know that we have high prices of meal meal every years after harvesting season.

  8. National development is the ability of a country to improve the social welfare of the people e.g by providing social amenities like quality education, potable water, transportation infrastructure, medical care, etc…now now people how long has it taken for this government to develop the aforementioned area.. 20years!! There are people who visit this website who were born in 1991, surely its time to try someone else.

PS. I’m not a PF or HH Party Cadre like a Zambian who believes its time to try someone else!!

  9. Doctors house? I doubt I would want to take my children to live in the middle of nowhere let alone a place full of sand like that. Just saying!

  10. pic # 1 and # 2 FRA should do a better job, construct proper food storage facilities, there is alot of money in food security programmes run by FRA and party of that money obviously should go towards the construction of state of the art food storage facilities. Middle income country having such shangombo structures its a shame.

  11. Those structures could turn inti white elephants if the govt does not motivate medical staff who will be posted to provide services. Shangombo being one of the far frang places in Zambia is a big challenge. The workers need special rural hardship allowances especially the female staff most of them will fake marriages to men in urban areas just to run away.So the MMd should start talking on top thier voices once they overcome all the challenges posed by public service posted to Shangombo. As for the mobile hospitals its not certain how many times they will be visiting the place to treat patients. We have so many challenges which need parmenent solutions and not fire fighting type of solutions.

  12. @9 Mushota
I would accept if you lived in some other British town, but Hagis Glasgow? 2 in 3 Glaswigians have no post high school qualifications. Glasgow is the heart attack capital of Europe. Drug junkies and prostitution are everywhere, even at the Royal infirmary!
The city centre is filthy and football fans are mad! Get out of that dump girl!

  13. Do these Mobile Hospitals have time schedules or they just turn up and set camp, what happens in the rain season then,  do you use your local with doctor?? Is it much more practical to use these things in-conjunction with the air doctors. Those small Cesna planes are easy to maintain and i’m sure there are many ex Zambia Airways and retired ZAF pilots doing nothing who can fly them at acceptable local rates. A well maintained 2nd hand Cesna can cost £20,000+ compared to that truck, can land on any level surface, can carry a Doc and a nurse, can cover more square KMs than the truck in a week practically any time of the year ad most importantly on schedule.
Do they math people and you’ll see the benefits!!!

  14. Mushota it’s high time you checked in for a full psychiatric assesment.Only recently you were boasting of your Accounting and nutrition qualifications and now you are a qualified constuctor,my foot! What type of UFO are you?
Do you even know where Shangombo is?Have you seen the type of vegetation and soil structure. They perfectly suit the place.Well done.

  15. Well done guys but more work to be done. We have to win the elections and continue working hard. We know that we cannot impress everyone with the development that is accelerating at a high rate.

  16. #9 Mushota you are right. While we appreciate the good work and intention of the government, the quality of structures being erected in Zambia is pathetic. Do we have engineers in Zambia after 47 years of independence? Can anyone in his right frame of mind agree that these doctors’ and nurses houses can cost K1billion? Indeed they look like chicken runs to me. No standards being followed, terrible architecture, poor materials and workmanship, the list is endless. Those buildings will not last I can assure you. You dont need to go far. Just cross the Zambezi into Namibia or Botswana and see what real development is with excellent looking and durable infrastructure being constructed. In Zambia, corruption is killing everything!

  17. It seems these trucks need elevators. They are too high for a sick person to climb up. What about the handicapped patients? Are they to be seen outside of the truck since the climb can be tough for them?

  18. The quality of the structures is laughable. Compare these to the houses MMD ministers are building themselves on stolen money!

  19. This project started a long time ago in Mwanawasa’s (MHSRIP) first term of office. I even know the architect who drew the plans and the donor that sponsored that project, so Rupiah’s regime should not cheat the people that he has done that project now. NO, NO, NO. Besides, what is a government there for? It’s like boasting to your children that you have paid their school fees; who else is supposed to pay if not you?

  20. @30 Kalos2121, thats a very good observation. How I wish these leaders visit such sites as LT, maybe they would be making correct decisions in the implementation of public expenditure.

  21. I love the FRA silos. Bagged silos. At least the maize they buy is probably for making tobbwa. At least when it rains it will ferment quickly. Remember RB was Namboard MD and he ran it down? Now it is FRA’s time to suffer his ineptitude.

  22. oh my!!!! shes back #9 haaha this confused human being.you cant see that they havent finished are eyes ok or you need sun glasses.otherwise thanks RB only the devil cant see the good work.

  23. FRA traditional storage facility!kekekekeke. Why not just call them primitive storage facilities? Is primitiveness synonymous to traditional?

  24. Where is the development? Where are the roads? Where is the town center? Anyway development by MMD`s standards after 20 years in power. What a shame. Viva HH or Sata.

  25. Its amazing that in this age, youths in Wed will be subjected to sub standard services and still be content to call it development when in fact we are 30 light years behind fellow African states in terms of upgrading social economic needs of ordinary citizens. To it this stars from homes through affordability of basic needs by a larger margin of the populace. This trickles to the work place with increased productivity and thus the larger aspect of institutional development. This has not been evident in the last 2 decades. It leaves one to wonder who should commit to who. Citizen or Boma???? mmmmh

  26. My goodness those structures are like chicken runs. Only in Africa do we accept such as development. Shame on those who think this it great development. Mushotas’ first paragraph is spot on. Lets demand for much better inviting/attractive structures.

  27. Oh! God this is deception at it’s best, are these structures you can call development in a country which has been independent for 47 years. These structures actually were left by Levy p. Mwanawasa and not Banda who said he never begged for our votes. these Masholis cannot do anything in Western province only stealing from us.

  28. # 47 Bo Muke, if that is not development then try to ask the people of Shagombo. There are people like you who come from those places and you have money, but you have done nothing about the living conditions of your people pantu imwe mwikala ku bulaya. Shagombo is atleast developing with that mediocre buildings. You check on the situation in Lusitu and kwa na bwalya, you wont be blogging anymore because you will spend much of your time crying.

  29. What the worst of money. Where will patients come from to fill those open dormitories? Probably they should turn that white elephant into an agricultural school, seems those people are good to grow maize in sand.

  30. Dear Mushota, though you alluded to plausible observation your conclusion is rather bias…because white is nothing it is just a skin….how i wish you would understand how white think about you…you would not talked bad about your country. I understand , sometimes you don’t mean what you are saying, maybe it is just out of frustration catalyzed by  poor governance in Zambia.

  31. Funny people here , how do you expect first class building in shangombo
only in Zambia building homes for nurses and doctors , they don’t pay shit for them
elsewhere they have to pay rent or mortgage , I wouldn’t  mind free  house as long they
don’t paint it yellow ( kids’ room color)

  32. The standard of structures are shocking. Ye, they look like chicken shades. Terrible design for the doctor’s and nurses house. Zambian architects needs to go back to school.

  33. looks like the contractor is on leave, can only see one person working there with no protective clothing. Can someone shade light on when this project was started and the anticipated completion date if it has not passed.

  34. In any nation a good health, education & poverty free admirable in the sense that they uprift the standard of living to the people of that country.i really appreciate the for the small population of shangombo where the votes come out to be in large number according to the ECZs unfairly announcement.now i dont hate Rupiah bt i hate the people surroundng him who are even enticing him into corrupt tendances & mostly for not speaking for the workers especialy the MINERS who their RIGHTS hav been lnfringed by the most corrupt investors who to be specific are the CHINESE that hav become the best friends of RUPIAH BANDA in all areas of our country.Go to chambishi mine u will find the police fully armed guarding the workers after asking thm they said we are heading towards elections bt th question

  35. # 57, I am right now in China. Please do not be a racist. These people are highly developed, and are still developing further. Let’s give them a conducive investment environment for the betterment of our country, with or without RB. By the way, I am coming back with some more MHs for distribution in all constituencies on 19/09/2011/09/19.

  36. Are these not storage houses in the name of wards? So dusty areas. So nga chakweba ati kuli infula ninshi ba shing’anga takuli kubomba awe pantu mwandini ba wishi litipa olo ova.Insapato yaba nesi kujombafye mwitipa.

  37. SInce you are all overseas :d an am in wonderful Zambia, I alone will decide who will win this years elections, ps, I am not voting for PF,

  38. @9 Ba Mushota……don’t expose your little feeble mind that is culturally corrupted and indoctrinated by posting crap. If you have worthy to say shut your big headed gob up! Talk about development, do you even know the meaning of the word? The people of Shang…. have at least something going….not matter how simple the structures maybe. Whether you are supporting the current Goverment or PF, your comments are really shallow and very sad. This is the problem with people like yourself that find yourselves abroad by luck. No sense of appreciating of your humble beginnings. You are a real loser…and you should really consider seeing your GP who should not hesitate a referral to a mental unit!

  39. Why design roofs with parapet walls? Clearly these buildings will not last. I notice that FRA makes money does not appear to be managed by serious individuals. Why not construct a proper warehouse for the crops being sold and bought from the local farmers? If Zambians do NOT construct good quality buildings, who will do so for our country? It is clear again to me that most citizens of Zambia who are stuck at home appear to be dead wood unable to define a beautiful man-made environment for themselves and their kids to live in. These buildings cannot be approved for public use in all countries that I have lived in during the past 30 years!! RUBBISH!! DO NOT VOTE for RB or MMD. He is a fake, and his party, a mafia mob.

  40. How did the Mobile clinic go to shangombo? they had to air lift it , because it is impassable, cheap politicting for Rupiah, Sata will finish all these projects started by Mwanawasa. and not Banda.

  41. FANATASTIC work by MMD…JUST GOES TO SHOW WHERE YOUR THINKING IS…These building are terrible! Who designed them??? Modern hospital neh?! Its on…

  42. these are low standard structures which may not stand the test of time. the plans are good but the work is really poor.
