Shangombo District Commissioner Masheke Kabayo says President Rupiah Banda deserves a five year mandate in office because he has fulfilled almost all the promises he made to the people of Zambia during his campaigns in 2008.

Mr. Kabayo said President Banda’s administration has in the past three years scored remarkable development in meeting the needs of its people most importantly those in rural areas.

He noted that Shangombo being the remotest district in the country has experienced fundamental economic and infrastructure development which is being felt by the common man in the outskirts of the district.

The DC pointed out that among other projects, the K1.8billion water reticulation programme has cheered the people as the district will be having safe and clean drinking piped water for the first time.

Mr. Kabayo said about 95% works of the water reticulation programme have been done adding that works are expected to be complete by the end of this month.

He said another project is the gravelling of the 80Km Kalongola –Sioma road which is being worked on by the Rural Roads Unit at the cost of K500million.

Mr. Kabayo has since commended government for it commitment in ensuring that development trickles down to all the parts of the country.

He also appealed to people in the district to ensure that they vote for President Banda in the 20th September general elections to enable him continue his development agenda for Zambia.

  2. MMD and RB ni zwaaah_Donch kubeba ati ”even this year MMD alepita”
chwe chwe chwe chwe chwe chwe chwe chwe chwe chwe…wina azanya mailo!! RB nafuti nafuti_chifubu ground (Ndola) is packed like hell right now.Tiyeni nayo…

  3. :((:((:((:((:(( thus being stupid of you shangombo people , he knows that its time for elections and thus when he is thinking of you and your development wait and see , once he wins you will never see any development in your area for 5 year, we will keep roughing at you zambians us BOTS enjoying life.

  4. What is the role of district commissioners? are they still party cadres or the conversion of this once political office into the public service is just on paper? shame shame shame

  5. This is the reason the opposition have no issues to talk about. They are hiding in the Donch Kubeba staff. May be the opposition will build railway lines and airports in the remote areas because RB is doing what is practically possible. RB..get all the rural vote, the line of rail will just compliment. Without the ‘pact’ a win is assured.

  6. That small tank for the whole district? and it is costing 1.8billion? Ba mambala you are really stealling from the people of Zambia

  7. Nafuti nafuti nchwee chwee RB, chabe zooona ni RB cabe zoooona wina a zalila. azangwa nafuti mundeke poseluka. its RBbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb

  8. Lady gaga….Ichisungu mayo…..the 1.8 refers to the whole reticulation programme. There could be more of such tanks…..take it easy, don’t pick the smoke leaving the fire behind.

  9. Ubupuba pa Zambia! Praising someone for bringing gravel and dust to the area?
You deserve tarmac roads and tarred surroundings, not this dust brought to you just before the elections! Wake up Zambia and vote wisely!

    • U start with gravel then move on to tar. U cant construct aN 80km gravel road for ZMK500m. Be sensible and help us undersatnd yo real concerns. This kind of thinking and inuendos is proper whichcraft. Repent.

  10. That is good, RB nafuti nafuti nafuti, PF muzalila, it is only three days to go, RB to be sworn in on 24/9, PF to be buried goodbye

  11. Lesa Lesa, I am an open MMD Voter ( Not Cadre since i will vote and i have a voters card), We are winning these elections everybody know that including POST, SATA and ALL PF Supporters and

Let the Game end in Insults, We have read enough insults from the PF Camp, Esh this party has people who can insult.

  12. @ BETTERS…uderstood, my point is that MMD does not need to rig elections. It will have a clear mandate from the people and my argument always is that the issue of rigging is just an excuse. Sata should know how the rigging is done, and if he knew, he would have advised his party how they used to do it in MMD.

  13. @14 Lasa-Lasa, your question, “Ok…what next if PF fails again this time arround?.

No if’s or but’s, they will fail. They have to fail then maybe we can have an opposition that is truley for the people. In my opinion, the higher echolons of PF consist of power hungry egotistical individuals. The reason most of them joined PF is because they are banking on winning / retaining their parliamentary seats in the desperate hope that their leader will get the presidential vote.

Sorry for ranting on…..when they loose they will disband then we shall see thier true colours!! The love affair with their leader will be over.

  14. For those who say RB is doing last minute projects must define what last minute means to them.

I wonder what they mean, because even those that appear to be educated are saying last minute development, how?

RB commisioned a finished Choma-Namwala Rd in 2010, last year. When you tell the people of Choma that RB built this Rd in last minute, will they take you for a normal person?

RB commsioned many completed schools, clinics and hospitals in especially 2010; when you go to places where such schools and hospitals have been built and tell people RB has done this in last minute, will they think you are normal??

Under the leadership of RB the country managed to produce two consecutive pumber harvests, i.e. 2009 and 2010; is that lst minute??

    Be sencere and NOT selfish!!!

  15. How somebody can pour water on a whole project based on one photo shows you the level of pf ‘thinking’. How can you rubbish something that you dont have all the details of?

  16. Honestly how is grading a dusty path through the bush every year highlighted as development or building hospitals in some corner of the country without proper allocation of human resources. Buffoon RB is very quick to monopolize even though some of these projects are funded by Donors. Most of these are short-sighted projects that don’t have a long-term sustainable framework to underpin them, in my book that is just as good as pissing money down the the toilet.

  17. This is not UTOPIA. In the absence of enough resources, you can only do things in stages. It takes a fool to believe the 90 days story and not understand what he sees with his own eyes. You can’t build, populate all hospitals with staff and medicines all at once. In planning, it is done in phases, first you have infrastructure in place, ensure nurses and Doctors are motivated enough to stay in a rural Zambia by paying them well. Anything else is a lie.

  18. #23 Jay Jay,
You are truely a PF cadre in who there is no doubt.
You think like a dedicated PF with fully commited support and zeal for ‘Donchi Kubeba’ having full characteristics of acredited PF.
All the best in 2016 general elections when SATA will stand against a different candidate than RB who is not his match.
Come 20th Sep, 2011 people want RB to continue with development. SATA achepa pali RB. The Punches are too enormous for him. Once again, all the best; try 2016, not now – ama punch yakulisha!!

  19. I think RB is campaining againist himself, what kind of development comes in a day, who doesnt know a crook! just see where did he go,, only globe treeking now he is back to cheat people that he cares,, what a joke

  21. RB is smart. Instead of wasting time on futile rhetoric (like Levy), he united the country and spent all his energy on rural infrastructure development. We urban dwellers may not feel the difference but it’s a fcking big deal for shangombo residents to have clean water reticulation for the first time since independence! Having new schools, roads and hospitals in far flung areas across the country makes an immediate impact on the economic lives of these people and rest assured they will vote MMD (incl parts of Southern). Chilufya Sata may do well in Matero and Chimwemwe but Zambia is way bigger than that.

  22. This may sound cruel and cold hearted but I forsee someone having a 2nd and fatal massive heart attack, come 22 Sep when the final results are announced. The only way to unseat MMD would have been via The Pact; otherwise forget it and MYSRIP…

  23. Rural zambia, pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase nafuuuuuti nafuuuuuti.why can some one need ktwe when there is shangombo, mukonchj, sinjembelaaaa et al.mwanya no kunya

  24. You guys get it!!  Kaponyas resent all the nice cars on the new roads in their urban compounds and they want to drive the same in 90 DAYS!!  The guy riding on the gravel road to Shangombo appreciates that for the very first time since independence (ladies and gentlemen, 47 years!!) he has a better road going to a good hospital.  That is development and progress!  If this is RB’s last minute development, then I love it!  IT WORKS!!  WE WANT MORE!!  RB has done more for rural Zambia than any other Zambian President!!  All you haters keep blogging until 20 Sept when you will get a BIG SURPRISE from rural Zambia!
