Preparations for the Barotse National Council scheduled to start tomorrow have reached an advanced stage.

An inter-denominational church service was held today in the Kuta at the Litunga’s palace in Limulunga.

The service which was also attended by the Litunga of Western Province, the Ngambela, Senior Indunas and scores of people from within Limulunga and far flung areas was convened to pray for peace ahead of the traditional convocation.

The church service which started at 08:30 hours and only ended at 13:40 hours was also attended by the clergy from various church denominations in Western Province.

And the Ngambela of Western Province Clement Wainyae Sinyinda has reiterated the need for those invited to attend the Barotse National Council (BNC) to observe peace and order.

Ngambela Sinyinda said the BNC has been called not to fight government but to discuss critical issues affecting the development of Western Province.

Speaking at the end of the inter-denomination church service, Ngambela Sinyinda told the congregants that Western Province should maintain its reputation as a peaceful region.

He advised those coming to the meeting that although there is a likelihood of the presence of security personnel in Mongu, they should not engage in any action which will jeopardise the prevailing peaceful environment.

The Ngambela said the meeting was important because it was interesting to see Western Province was at the bottom of the list of underdeveloped areas in the country.

He said it was for this reason that the meeting should be able to find ways and means of addressing the challenges which have put development in reverse gear.

All Barotse Royal Establishments, Diplomats and representatives of governments from within the region have been invited to attend the two-day meeting which opens tomorrow at Saint Francis Catholic Parish in Limulunga.

And delegates to the meeting have since started arriving in Mongu.

  1. I may be thousands of miles away physicaly but I’m with you in thought and wish you well in your deliberations.

  2. MWAMBA MUST NOT THREATEN US

Reports by ZNBC 19hrs News sunday 25th March that zed’s defence minister has warned of trouble markers at the BNC of stern action-is a violation of our right to assemble, associate and decide our destiny.
because what might mean trouble to mwamba, is actually freedom to us.
it is not a secret that GRZ is against our people deciding their indepndence. To mwamba and his army that is trouble.
to us, that is freedom and that what we are in mongu for!
our appeakl is that GRZ must muts stand in our way of deciding not to be part of zambia ever again! they should not.
they still pleasure themselves in taking her to their bed.

    To them, its normal.

    but how do we feel?

should the people of barotseland die in the arms of GRZ’s adulterous

  3. Please Mr Minister, its your army and police who will bring confusion. we are peaceful people. we are in mongu to decide to go back to our mother after you divourced us. please leave us alone. we have made all kinds of efforts to make our marriage with you work, but each time we tried, you kicked us and punished us. now is the time for us to make our own independent decision. and we have no other decision but to part comany. yes, just like bulozinahayaluna said, to mwamba and his GRZ our freedom means trouble for him. the abrogation of the BA64 means goodwill for him, but to us it has been trouble. so its very clear tat what GRZ want-is opposite to what we want. leave us alone. you have been a worthless husband, GRZ….you oppressed us, finished us, and trumped down our marriage contract.

  4. Whats the agenda? Someone help me. Have they invited the British Govt – the authors of the bogus, fraudulent agreement ?

    • look at you u, you ask what the agenda is but u want the british to be there.know the agenda before u give a comment.

  5. bt why shud sojaz dictate on wt we shud discus?mwamba dnt annoy us.intimidatin us is incubatin a problem zt wl hatch later.i hope charmz ar zr 2 do z job.

  6. Don’t listen to people who are jealous of your unity. Just go ahead and discuss development to move forward and get your people out of poverty. It seems that in Zambia now if you don’t look after yourself the goverment won’t. Lusaka is becoming irrelevant in the development programmes of provinces, not just Barotseland. Has anybody heard Sata talk about development programmes????????? NO. Everytime he opens his mouth, it is s.h.i.t that comes out.

  7. ‘Amen!’ The people said in unison in response to the prayers and peaceful speech of the newest leader.

‘Stand down boys,’ whispered the General, ‘These guys are here to do their thing so try to blend.’

After he walked away the soldiers exchanged glances.

Blend? Um…anyone speak the lingo or know customs?’

‘I can say hello, goodbye and thank you.’ One offered.

‘I know how to kiss palms,’ offered another.

‘How about we offer to sing a song of unity? Maybe the national anthem? Ouch! Ouch! Why are you all slapping me!’

The old man who was walking by shook his head, ‘One man’s meat…’ he murmured, ‘If you think too hard you will try to do too much and wind up with a commission of inquiries. Just let the only beef here be served as dinner.’

  8. This thing must very easy to sort out, give them independence like today, have nothing more to do with them and kick out all Lozis out of our country

  9. @ Blogger # 11, Brother you speak as though you are an enemy of humanity….just imagine if in the UK where u are , you are denied opportunity on the pretext of you been black or foreign how would u feel? Every Nation that exist today , other people has to draw maps that define them as states today…what if the lozi get serious and they go to international court , and they win …what would your hate achieved? I am not lozi, but i understand the power of diplomacy..than combatant  approach the MMD did and the PF are trying to do. Military does not solve anything , if not , it just worsens. I am speaking to u with great love, I hope u get that btwn my words to you. GBU

  10. Msana wanzili, please do not insinuate the people of Zambia to kill each other. People who speak like you, may not even be Zambians. We don’t think like you at all. I would not be surprised to learn that you are a foreigner. You do not appreciate peace. Your heart is controlled by the devil. How could you suggest to kick out the Lozi speaking people from Zambia. Should Barotseland be free from Zambia, not every Lozi speaking Zambian would want to be a citizen of that new country. Neither would Barotse nation purge Barotseland of all Bembas, Kaondes, Tongas, Tumbuka, Nsengas, Chewas and all Nyanja speaking citizens of Barotseland. What you are suggesting is uncivilized. You are going back to stone age. Every nation benefits from racial diversity. Even Zambia will need the Lozi

  11. If anyone is killed by the security forces in Mongu, Mwamba will be to blame and he should know that he, given his elephantic ebese frame, will be easy to cut down in revenge. There will be not getting away with the murder of my people this time, someone will poay the ultimate price.

  12. I have faith peace will prevail and the government needs to be aware that soldiers do not blend with civilians and misunderstandings can occur. Utmost respect to those praying and speaking of peace. The wisdom of old can chart the path to a successful week for all.

  13. Yamata atonolofaze ni kufuyaula mukopano tuna wa Bulozi NAHA YA LUNA.MULENA MULIMU YA KWA LIHALIMU A SILELEZE KAONGOLO KA NYAMBE,SOPE,MANDUNA KAMUKANA NI BANA BAPOHO YENSU KWA BAYA KWA BAKUWA .BNC I BE MUKOPANO WA MBUWA NI KOZO AMEN

  14. BUT ZAMBIA ZOONA . THE MINISTER OF DEFENSE IS ALREADY ON THE TRIGGER BEFORE A MEETING.
ANY WAY THAT’S WHAT YOU VOTED FOR. YOU WILL HAVE TO LIVE WITH THAT.

  15. Let’s assume this BNC resolves to secede. What should GRZ do? In my opninion, we should allow them to pass whatever resolutions. Let GRZ stay put and see what next. Is Barotse going to include Kaoma? We know Nkoyas are against this. Then what next???

  16. We must dialogue with these people preferably call for a referendum. Assuming the majority say cessation? What boundaries are we looking at?

  17. Is BRE ready to share zambias debt 50/50? Then let us look at ways of how we can resolve this. As for Lozis in zambia, there will be no need of chasing them. They are free to live hear. This not a war and we are not enemies

  18. Iam mad including my party all thing about us are mad. We dont care anymore about normal people. Lozis are mad we shall work together. Tongas I doubt. Bembas are mad we have no proble, check the strees of Lusaka, full of mad cadres no problem, that is how we work. Be mad we shall work together. My worry is Lozis madness is too extreme that why Angolana have come to help. No one can challenge me not even cabinet iam above that. The party is supreme viva zambia, tujili at work iam mad as early as 06.00hrs

  19. Kabimba, plz try to be clear, wena munyukunyuku. We wont need people like u in our new state. Brothers and sisters the agenda is packed, i have seen it. Viva Bulozi. Marc Bot u are dull, u still think Barotse is confined 2Western only, so wat is Kaoma?

  20. The presence of Military Personels, simply shows how powerful the Barotse Government is. Viva to the MULONGWANJI
