  1. Strong words from KK…i will not say much…either way we have lost a great lady who in her own way gave soooo much to Zambia…forgiveness is kin.RIP…

    • what about the words from our president, is KK the only one who spoke sense or u only jump to criticise the president & never to praise him for anything good?

    • In short, KK said that the Wina family delivered Barotseland to him, leading to subsequent abrogation of BA64 etc etc.

    • Nyoko there is more to this story…there is need to write a book on the history and characters on Zambia…it will be a best seller! Baroste, KK, romance in the west, Chiluba, Paul Tembo, Penza, Africa Cup, Sata…the list is endless…LOVE ZED…you got to!

  2. Oh its so sad for the Winas but one thing I’ve learnt from this funeral is this couple really loved each other.Hope young couples shall take a leaf from this.Divorce is becoming as common as cockroaches in Zambia!

  3. So sad. Zambia appreciates your contributions mama and declaring today April 13th as day of national mourning is an honourable thing to do. R.I.P.

  4. These guys it was chupu na thayela, simcard na phone, and like inswa.I feel so much for grandpa Sikota.Let God be your comforter and everything despite this demise.May her soul rest in eternal peace.Shalom Shalom.

  5. You are in our prayers Papa Sikota. We all know how much you and our mother loved each other. Your words are very true when you say ‘a part of you has been broken’, yours was true love. May God be with you in this trying moment, RIP Princess.

  6. She was such a pretty woman, very smart & she knew who she was in life. May her soul rest in eternal peace.

  7. From one princess to another, RIP Nakatindi, you were one of a kind.

Sincere condolences to Sikota, you have lost your other half.

  8. Very touching. What can one say at moment like this. Very touching. I worked with the family for many years. It’s incredible how generous they are. Everybody who has worked with them knows that their generosity is unmatched. It’s the passing of an era. They worked hard, brought independence together with other freedom fighters across Zambia, and this generation is slowly handing over the reigns of the country to younger generations. President Michael Sata is probably the last of this generation to ever be President again, from now on we will start seeing younger people coming in to run the economy and countinue growing Zambia. Life is a relay race. At some point every generation hands over to the next younger generation. May Her Soul Rest in Peace.

  9. May her soul rest in peace. Is Ukwa also going to Barotseland for the burial or is he too scared? She was accorded a state funeral despite allegations of her and the husband being big time drug dealers. Zambians forget easily and that is why Ukwa is president today and that is why people forget that he was the one behind the accusation of the Winas being behind a coup attempt to topple the then president Chiluba. Some say that she never recovered from her incarceration which ultimately led to hear death.

  10. Is this not the same couple that has a travel ban in Europe because of drug traficking? MHSRIP,There are a lot of hypocrites in Zambia.

  11. I feel for the old man and I can imagine how incomplete he feels without his companion. No real man can live an honourable life without a woman, a virtuous one for that matter.

A woman is the only reason for a man to be called a man. She will never take his strength, as some might say, she will only make him greater.
Behind every successful man lies a woman.
And behind every successful woman lies a trail of defeated men, staring at her back in awesome reverence… wondering how she bypassed them!

    • If only all Zambian men would think like you…Some can never allow their wife to leave the kitchen and pursue their dreams.

  12. some people just take everything for jokes….it’s really sad……hope as you write, you have food in your homes.

  13. ULOBALE HANDI MUKWAE NAKATINDI UYO KOPANA NIBASHEMI BAHAO UYO LOBALA KWASISHEKE SAMWANAMWALYE NAMUSUNGA BASHEMI BO CHAZE NI MBILE ITE BAKUAMUHELE UYOYE

  14. You were a great Woman, and you inspired many, Mother and Grand Ma.
MYSRIP. You were a different Lozi, very different from the rest of the Lozis that we know.
    Rest In Peace

  15. RIP. After reading about what these family did to unight Zambia in the so called Barotseland, they desearve some great respect

  16. @21 Nine Chale, I’m a woman and I just want to tell you that you hit the nail on the head. This is not an insult to men but, there are very few (men) of them who really appreciate the role women play in men’s lives. I appreciate your analysis and if you are married, your wife must be a very lucky woman. Ijust hope and pray that you treat her just as same as your analysis. God bless you and the lucky woman you married.

  17. Rest in Peace Bo Mukwae! You were imprsoned on falsehoods ( treason ) and that was the beginning of your illness. Today the same people are threatening us with treason again for only reminding them about the agreement they signed in 1964.

Only God knows what we have done to deserve this illtreatment!!
    MYSRP.

  18. She was also a MANDRAX DRUG QUEEN with her husband that destroyed a lot of young Zambians in the urban areas of the 1980 and 90’s.

She has now gone to rest. MHSRP!!

    • Don ChiChi, your post can only come from a dull, ignorant and un exposed person. The Winas have never been convicted for drug trafficking. You are such a shameless fool.

  19. ahhh # 5 uli wadobo you made my day! My condolences to the Wina family though, it’s really a great loss.

  20. Some of you here waste no time in politicizing any issue and turning it into an expression of your utter ignorance. You continue to show and prove your low-levels of imaturity and idiocy. Look around, there are many articles where you can post your opinion and where your ignorance doesn’t matter. For crying out loud, can you not respect the Wina family for their loss? There’s time for everything and if you can not find it with yourself to have a sensible and meaniful contribution here, I suggest you go play solitaire or something. Can we please just honour and respect Princess Nakatindi Wina even in her death? Damn.

  21. I am touched! This is such a great loss to the family and Zambia at large. But I am also humbled at the great respect this woman commanded. I hope all leaders can learn something. Even bloggers today are not insulting for once. Princess, you are truly a leader…

  22. From my experience from my first life, losing a so long companion, Sikota will not be around for long. This opportunity to use him atleast for the Barotseland stuff.

  23. Great loss to the heritage of the country. Wina, Kaunda, Mwanga, kachinwe etc are the few zambians that have written books otherwise we have no credible authors we can learn from when they are gone.MHSRIEP.

  24. A great compatriot retires to the place of mystique! Rest in peace musimbi mubotu moyo!
am greatly offended by some uncultured hoodlums, who, instead of mourning have found chance to blemish!

  25. MHSRIEP, and many thank yous for her contribution to the social, economic and pollitical sectors in Zambia, may God watch over the Winas’ family during this devastasting moment.

  26. MHSRIP, what a strong Woman she was, Zambians don’t politicize Ichililo, why do some of you honestly still thing Barotse should go solo? Are you not happy to be one Zambia?

  27. I simply wished to say thanks once again. I am not sure what I would’ve used in the absence of the points documented by you over my theme. It actually was a frightening scenario in my opinion, nevertheless taking note of a new specialised manner you solved that took me to jump for fulfillment. I’m just happy for the support and as well , believe you recognize what a great job that you are getting into instructing some other people all through your blog. I am certain you have never encountered all of us.
